Chapters Pinkie up!
Pinkie Pie sat down at a table in front of her friends, wondering what this was all about. After a couple moments, she decided to voice her confusion.
"What's up, girls? How come you wanted me to come here but for no reason? Or is there a reason? Wait, let me guess. Um... Is there a party I need to plan? Do I need to fight a meanie? What about if-" She was cut off by an tan hoof being stuffed in her mouth.
"Rarity will be here in a bit. She asked us all to come here, and we don't know why." The owner of the hoof, Applejack, said.
"Yeah, and where's Fluttershy?" Rainbowdash questioned, "This is her house, after all."
A small voice that could easily be confused as the wind, came up from behind the couch. "Over here... You startled me..."
Pinkie Pie spat out Applejacks hoof and stood up. "Sorry Fluttershy, but we are all friends!"
Fluttershy was about to respond when Rarity burst through the door to the cottage, levitating a large container.
"Darlings, gather around the table, because there is a problem all of you have, just some more than others. It was very prominent yesterday, at the Dinner we had with the princesses."
"Go on!" Rainbow said loudly.
Rarity glared at Rainbowdash before continuing. "Well, it came to my attention that all of you have less than perfect table manners! So this is what the box is for." Rarity put the box on the ground, and levitated six plates out of it.
"Ooh! Are we going to eat some cake! I love cake!" An energetic pink pony said.
"I'm going to need you all to be silent, because this is considered a test. I am going to test your knowledge on simple etiquette." Rarity said, levitating a smaller plate and a cup to each pony.
"Now, this is the beginning. Start by moving the cup and the bread plate to the correct side of your plate."
After a few moments, the cottage started to be full of the noise of moving plates and the chinking of glasses. Rarity waited for everyone to be done, leaving her plate and glass untouched. Fluttershy slowly moved the bread plate to the left and the glass to the right. Pinkie quickly hoofed the plate to the right and the drink right beneath it. Rainbow grabbed the cup and put it on the right, and the plate on the left. Twilight slowly levitated the plate on the right and the cup on the left, while Applejack put the bread plate directly above her main plate, and the drink on the right.
Rarity slowly checked each pony's placement, before clearing her throat. "Well, only two of you got it right. And the two who got it right were Fluttershy and Rainbow!"
"Look closely, and you might get some of my good manners!" Rainbow boasted, while Fluttershy slid down in her seat.
"Don't worry everyone, that was only the first half of the test. The next is eating!" Rarity levitated a sandwich onto each plate, poured water in each cup, except for Pinkies, which somehow already had chocolate milk in it. She also put a salad on each bread plate.
"Now, the only rule is that you have to eat it! Dig in!" Rarity exclaimed, looking at the eating habits like a hawk.
Rainbow was just picking up her sandwich with her hooves and eating it in a few bites, which Rarity curled her nose in disgust at. Then Pinkie was just throwing it up in the air and eating it whole, which Rarity shivered at. Then there was Applejack, who was just smashing her face in the salad. Rarity had to choke back a barf at that point. But Twilight was just levitating her food into her mouth, tearing off bite sized pieces. And Fluttershy was cutting up her sandwich into small bits with her utensils, which Rarity sighed in relief at. Pinkie, Rainbow, and Applejack chugged their water, while Fluttershy and Twilight slowly drank it.
"Alright, stop!" Rarity's voice cut through the clinks and chinks of dinner being eaten. "I have decided who has passed, and who has not. Fluttershy, Twilight, you have both passed. AJ, Pinkie, and Rainbow, you have not." Rarity levitated the remains of dinner back into the container, and left.
"Does she want us to take classes or something?" Applejack said to no pony in particular.
"We'll at least you have an excuse, you were raised in a barn!" Rainbow joked before dashing out of the cottage.
Name: Numbers
Gender: Girl/Mare
Age: 14 (which is about 3 years after she got her cutie mark.)
Species: Unicorn
Description: Pure white body with hot pink and red striped choppy mane. She doesn't really care about what her mane looks like, as long as it stays out of her eyes. She has sapphire blue eyes, and an average sized horn. She doesn't exercise much, but she does it enough to stay at a decent weight and health. The few times she does go out for a trot, she can make it at a sprint, maybe one to one and a half blocks. She has a lot of practice from running from bullies, but she hasn't been bothered by them much after she got her cutie mark. So because of that, she has slowly gone down in health, she's still healthy though. She isn't very experienced in magic, but she knows some decent spells to help her with math, such as conjuring paper, quills, calculators, or ink pots at her will. She hopes to someday get more advanced in her magic to help her with teaching. She also has a higher levitation rate than the average unicorn, meaning she can levitate more items.
Cutie mark: A green addition sign, a blue division sign, and a red number one. (Signifies that math comes easy to her- she will use this talent to become a math teacher later in her life)
Cutie mark story: Numbers was at school, bored as usual, and she started dozing off because she stayed up so late reading the night before. When the teacher noticed, as teachers do, she zeroed in on her, asking her random questions about the lesson.
She woke out of her day dream, and noticed that she needed some help, stat. She flipped through her book, landing on the lesson that was on the board. She looked up helplessly at the teacher for some mercy. The teacher walked away, shaking her head. The rest of the students sniggered at the perfect volume so the students could hear but the teacher couldn't. Or maybe the teacher was just so annoyed she didn't care.
Numbers had to stay after school that day, and as she was after school, she had to talk to the teacher. The teacher told her that she was assigned to read through the whole lesson that she missed as homework.
Once home, she put it off for as long as possible because she was trying to get her cutie mark doing random actions, including juggling, which she was a failure at. She also tried tent making, which she was also bad at. The last thing she tried before promising to do her homework was basketball, as she has been running low on ideas for months, so she had to go into the more stallion-oriented cutie marks. Eventually she gave up and levitated her book over to her bed, knowing she'd hate it.
Once she finally started reading it though, she became intrigued by the math held within it, and eventually finished the book, embarrassed that she would have to tell the teacher that the next day. But she didn't want to stop studying math though, so she asked her mom to get her some of her math books from when she was in a few grades above Numbers.
She started to study math at a level that was challenging for high school ponies, and she was only in sixth grade. She soon found that it was very easy for her, and her cutie mark appeared on her thigh, but she was too tired to notice. She levitated her moms books onto her moms bed, and went to sleep.
Once she went downstairs after her night though, her parents were acting very happy and she didn't know why. Even her younger brother congratulated her, apparently past their argument the day before. Numbers started to get confused on why she was getting congratulated, so she asked her mom. Her mom gladly told her that she got her cutie mark, and Numbers promptly finishe her breakfast and ran to the school to show it off, leaving her parents in the dust.
Personality: Numbers seems shy at first sight. She has a hard time approaching new ponies that can be seen as potential friends, but if somepony approaches her she is visibly more relaxed. And once she warms up to you, she can be very sarcastic and witty. She sometimes gets ridiculed for her 'nerdy' cutie mark, but she knows that she can't change it, and eventually the bullies get bored and move on to their next victim. She treats teachers with more respect than she treats everypony else, as she knows they need more respect than they sometimes deserve. She is very interested (and has a lot of experience and knowledge) in math, and that sometimes gets in the way of her other classes, so even though her math grades exceed, her other classes barely scrape by.
Background:Numbers is the first born in her family, her only other sibling being a 11 year old stallion named Sketch, and he is a light blue pegasus with a orange poofy mane. Her parents are two unicorns, but one of them has a pegasus brother. She made a few friends in her youth, but even though she only made four, they have been loyal to her as she has to them, the whole of her life. They both run a bookstore on the outskirts of Ponyville, and they live on the second floor. At school, Numbers has had little to no trouble getting good grades, but although she hardly gets passing grades in some classes, it's only because she doesn't try hard enough. The only class she truly enjoys in math, and she aspires to be a math teacher once she's old enough. At school she used to get bullied for being a blank flank, because she was the last in her class to get a cutie mark. Her experience with bullies makes her sympathetic towards others, and she promises that when she's a teacher, there will be no bullies at her school. Once she is in high school, she hopes that she can make a plan with her school so they can reserve a spot for her to teach.
Optional:Numbers can use her magic to levitate many things at once, and she can conjure homework out of thin air and use it as a paper cut weapon, or use it as a makeshift bandage
I will be using Numbers for all types of role play :)
Name: Hurricane
Gender: Mare
Species: Pegasus
Approximate age: (In human years) 16
Description: Hurricane is a Pegasus with a coat as black and beautiful as the gemstone, onyx. Her eyes are hot pink and she always has a special fire in them (metaphorically of course). Her mane and tail are kind of messy. She doesn’t really care what they look like so she just lets it do what it wants. Both her mane and tail are black with hot pink highlights to match her eyes. Hurricane’s glossy wings are strong and powerful, but not too large for figure. Her body is built differently than most ponies though. She is only slightly taller (hardly noticeable) and is a little slimmer than most ponies. She isn’t as thin as a pony like Luna or Fleur di Lis though. Hurricane is very good at agility and is very nimble which makes it easier for her to do her cool tricks.
Background: Ever since Hurricane was a little filly, she was a rule breaker. She didn’t care what other ponies thought. Her parents are both Pegasus. Hurricane has an older sister, Clarice, who is a unicorn, not a Pegasus (It’s kind of like how the Cakes are both earth ponies, but because of other generations, their kids were not). Hurricane’s parents would stay on the ground in Manehatten with Clarice since she could not fly, but when they heard they were expecting a Pegasus, they moved to Las Pegasus so that little Hurricane could be raised how a Pegasus should properly be raised, in the sky. They left Clarice with her grandparents who were a unicorn and an earth pony. Her parents visited often until Hurricane was born. They started to spend more time with Hurricane and less time with their oldest daughter. Because of this, Hurricane and Clarice had a hard relationship. When they would visit, Clarice and Hurricane never got along and would always end up fighting and bickering.
Eventually, Hurricane’s parents decided to send her to school, but because she wasn’t that social and the only pony who she had relationship with in her age group was her sister. Little Hurricane got into quite a few fights and didn’t make very many friends. Because her and her sister fought so much, fighting was pretty much the only social skill she was taught (If you want to call it a social skill). Since she got into a lot of trouble at school, her parents pulled her out. They eventually decided to send her to a stricter school. Hurricane still caused trouble. Although, with much punishment and discipline, she mellowed out a little, but she still did find ways to get into trouble.
She stayed with the school until she was around thirteen. Her parents started to home school upon hearing too many reports of accidents from the school. Hurricane got to that age where rebellion was her middle name. She would sneak out of the house often and cause many other problems. One night when she snuck out, she decided to check out the weather factory in Cloudsdale. Once she got there, she snuck around the guards and figured out her way into the fascinating weather factory. When she got inside, she splashed around in the rainbow pools and puddles and was really impressed by the storm section. Eventually, she made her way into the snowflake room. Hurricane tried her hoof at making a few snowflakes which didn’t go so well. After many, many, many broken snowflakes, she made a fairly decent one. She was proud of it and started flying full of joy, clearly ignoring the “No Flying” sign. While she was rejoicing, she knocked over a lot of the buckets of snowflakes, breaking them. When Hurricane saw what she did, she flew out as fast as she could while trying to avoid guards who heard the ruckus. In her haste, she knocked over a large tub of rain water. She kept flying until she was out. Finally, she stopped to see what she what she had done. Hurricane tried to hold back tears as she saw security ponies pour into the building. She couldn’t face her parents after that. She decided to stay in Ponyville and has been there ever since. Weeks later, she got terrible news that her mother passed away of a bad illness. Hurricane couldn’t take it and spent almost all her time in the sky trying to avoid other ponies.
Personality: Hurricane is very much a rebel (If you didn’t get that impression yet). She can be very competitive and have a little bit of an attitude. It is still kind of hard for her to make friends though. She just needs somepony who can see past all her mistakes and still accept her and all her flaws. Hurricane loves to have fun and be loud and wild. She doesn’t care if anypony thinks badly about her. She also loves adventures and taking risks. If you ask her “What’s the plan?” She says “We wing it!” with great excitement. She is also very laid back and doesn’t stress about the little things. One of her goals is to make a real friend who can accept her for who she is. Another one of her goals, is to become the best trick/stunt flyer in Equestria.
Cutie Mark: Three Tornadoes. It all happened when Hurricane was a little filly right after school got out. She had heard rumors of a large cavern that held many natural growing crystals and gems. This was too good for Hurricane. Naturally she had to check it out, but the cavern was farther than the distance her parents would let her fly. After thinking about it, Hurricane decided to check it out. She started to fly down, but the wind currents and turbulence proved to be a challenge from the start. When she got about halfway down, she could see the cavern down below. Her excitement caused her to speed up. The faster Hurricane got, the stronger the wind currents were. She was beaten around and tried hard not to land in the cavern, but next to it. When she finally got to the ground, she looked down at the deep cavern below. She couldn’t even see the bottom. “Wings, don’t let me down.” She said before beginning her descent. The farther she went down, the darker and colder it got. Once she got to the bottom, she could hardly see. Although, Hurricane could make out some smoke in the distance, which gave her an idea. She grabbed a stick and started toward the smoke. “This stick would make a great torch if it had some fire on the end of it.” Hurricane thought. As she got closer to the smoke, she saw something glistening. She started to run toward it. When she got there, she saw gems, many many gems. Her eyes lit up and she tried to grab as many as she could. Suddenly she felt a strange blast of warm air and smelled smoke. Hurricane whipped around only to come face to face with a large dragon. The dragon was a bold green color. His eyes were a majestic gold and were filled with rage. His spines and scales shone from the little light reflecting off of them while he whipped his powerful tail back and forth glaring at the little filly. He was clearly mad that somepony had tried to steal his treasure. He swiped a large claw at the little Hurricane. She dropped the gems and dodged the dragon’s mighty swing. She knew she could never out fly him. She kept trying to weave around each of his swings from his menacing claws or his heavy tail and gnashing teeth. She then got an idea. She flew around in a circle on the ground. A small whirlwind started to form around her collecting dirt, dust, and any loose foliage off the ground like dead leaves and sticks. The small whirlwind eventually turned into a decent sized tornado. Hurricane finally moved the tornado to her attacker. The dirt and dust in his eyes caused him to stumble about and roar with fury. While he was distracted, Hurricane used her adrenaline to fly out of the cavern. When she was out, she collapsed onto the ground panting and trying to comprehend what just happened. When she looked at her flank, she saw her cutie mark. “Wow,” she said “All that for a cutie mark” she let out a small, weak laugh that showed she was clearly out of breath. However, her cutie mark wasn’t her only victory. She also came out with one gem. A small onyx that she kept for the memory. Eventually, her parents found her lying on the ground too weak to fly and brought her home where they scolded her and then rejoiced because she got her cutie mark. When Hurricane’s mother found the onyx she collected, she started to call Hurricane her “beautiful little onyx”
Hurricane uses her talent to help Pegasi clean up fallen leaves after the fall season and helps to bring the rainwater up to Cloudsdale, although she tries to avoid the job as much as she can. She also uses her ability to do amazing tricks.
Optional: After her mother passed, Hurricane eventually had the onyx fashioned onto a collar that she always wears to remember her.
