The sun slowly creped into the room through the window, I opened both of my eyes.
“I guess it’s time to wake up.” I said while I yawned.
I decided to get up from the bed and folded the bed, and as I went to the bathroom I looked in the mirror seeing my morning self with my brown coat and bed head black mane and smiled.
After brushing my teeth and got into the shower, as I got out I reached for the towel to dry my self so I could apply my everyday pomade in my black mane and slick it back into a pompadour with my rat tailed comb.
Then I put on my clothes that consisted of blue jeans with a black leather belt, big metal belt buckle with a wallet chain, tank top underneath a blue and black flannel shirt that carries a black bandana, black leather steam punk goggles around my neck and my black leather jacket. I passed by the mirror to see a Greaser pony,
“Same old self.” I chuckled.
I trotted out of the safety of my home; I smelled the fresh air and looked around at the tranquility and peace of the community I found myself in.
“Let’s see what everyone is up to today!” I said.
I walked the roads of Ponyville waving happily to everyone that passed by me and saying "Mornin' ".
As I began to arrive at the shops of Ponyville, I looked around to spot any familiar faces to ask what are they planning on doing this afternoon but couldn’t find any friends amongst the crowds of everyday shoppers, at the same time I couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary either, I continued into the Café.
I came in and greeted Mr. Cappuccino a stallion who had green eyes, cappuccino colored coat with a brown mane slicked to the side with a coffee mug as a cutie mark and Ms. Cremosa a mare with blue eyes, a crème colored coat with darker tone crème mane brushed back and tucked behind her ears with crème and cheery on top cutie mark to buy my donut and coffee like every Friday morning.
“Anything new this mornin’?” I asked.
“We got special offers on everything like every Friday but that is about it.” Mrs. Cremosa said trying to act casual.
Mr. Cappuccino then broke a smile “She likes to tease you; no we are going to have a romantic dinner later.” He said.
I smiled “That’s sounds cool, Mrs. Cremosa you’re lucky to have a great Husband!” I said as I chose a donut and ordered coffee.
I couldn’t resist over hearing the conversation of a two ponies and a filly sitting and already enjoying their morning.
“Hey did you guys hear those echoing screams from last night? I promise I heard something, so a group of Royal Guards decided to check earlier this morning in the Everfree Forest and haven’t returned yet.” Mentioned the Colt.
“I didn’t hear any screams last night but however I did hear that Royal Guards were sent to check, I saw them pass by my house this morning.” Said the female.
“They probably already found the problem and taken care of it, that’s why they’re professionals at their jobs and I want to one when I’m older!” Said the filly that was likely to be the younger sibling of one of the ponies.
I smiled from over hearing the conversation and gave Mr. Cappuccino the money for the donut and coffee and I decided to ask another question.
“Do you know about any screams last night, I continue hearing these bazaar rumors?” I somewhat exaggerated the question.
“I’m sure Mrs. Cremosa doesn’t scream that loud.” I smiled then chuckled along with him at his joke and Mrs. Cremosa blushed.
“I did actually; however I just think it’s just a bunch of Fillies just trying to scare us decent folk.” He smiled.
I shrugged my shoulders and put a tip in the tip jar, I sat down alone at one of the tables and began to eat my donut.
The door opened and a pinkie pony with puffy hair enters the shop bouncing each step instead of trotting like a normal pony and was greeted by everyone that was there, I smiled.
“Ain’t that interestin’ way to start a mornin’?!” I thought to myself.
She went up to get coffee, she was on her way out and saw me sitting alone and decided to sit awkwardly across from me at the table and drank her coffee in one gulp.
“HI, I’M PINKIE PIE! NICE TO MEET YOU!” She introduced herself.
“Why howdy Pinkie Pie, nice to meet you too.” I replied
“So what’s your name? I see you around here often and Ponyville in general but never really had the chance to socialize with you yet. Are you from around here? Are you doing something later, if you’re not I’d like to invite you to my party in the afternoon at Sugar Cube Corner, want to come? THEY’RE GREAT! You’ll meet tons of new friends! I never got your name, what is it? Woops I’m sorry if I’m coming off strong!” Pinkie Pie said.
“Well my name is Joco, I guess you can say I’m from around here.” I thought for a second about answering where was I from and also knowing that I didn’t like going to parties where I didn’t know people and the only time I went to parties was usually rough housing with similar ponies like myself but I decided not to hurt her feelings knowing I had nothing else to do in the afternoon.
“It’ll be an honor to come to your party.” I answered
“That’s great, see you later then! I’ll start the preparations for the party.” I watched her bounce out of the shop.
“That was interestin’ly fast.” I ate my donut and drank my coffee, threw the garbage away, and said have a nice day to the two loving store owners.
I began trotting to Ponyville’s local gun and knife store smiling and waving like the random pony I am and finally arrived to the gun shop, I entered greeting the Gunsmith.
“Good Mornin’, Hey any new shipments?” I asked.
The Gunsmith nodded his head no “Not until Saturday.”
I stared at the door behind the counter with a lock on it “Hey I’ve been wonderin' for awhile if you got somethin’ “Special” behind that door?”
The Gunsmith looked down before looking back up and cleared his throat “What, behind this door? It’s nothing really besides guns that I haven’t shelved yet.”
I stared him straight in the eyes seeing past his lie, I shrugged my shoulders and began to browse around the aisles as usual trying to find a new gun that I don’t have yet or just came out recently.
As I looked threw the Western section which portrayed Rolling Block Rifles, Double Barreled Shotguns, Repeater Rifles, Trap Door Rifles, Revolvers, and etc. I accidently bumped into a red stallion with a large half an apple for a cutie mark that was looking at the opposite side of the section before we bumped into each other.
“I’m sorry didn’t see you there” He said
“No I’m sorry it’s my fault. Don’t worry about it.” I replied.
We both stared at each other awkwardly for a little “Antique, Everyday or Rare Gun Collector?” We both said at the same time, we shook hooves and laughed.
“Howdy I’m Big Mackintosh!” He said
“Pleasure meetin’ yah friend, I’m Joco!” I replied.
We began a conversation on what lifestyle we found ourselves in and turned out not to be very different.
“Hey want to come over to Sweet Apple Acres?” Big Macintosh asked so he could introduce his family at Sweet Apple Acres and continue our conversation on where guns and knifes stand in Equestria without being criticized as armed maniacs.
After a long trot over we finally arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, I looked at how extensively large the land they owned.
“It’s a mighty fine Farm you and your family got here! It’s a lot larger then any other I worked on.” I mentioned.
“Thanks.” He replied as a female western pony and a filly showed up and the older one spoke.
“Big Mackintosh, I see you made new friends!” She starred at me “It’s a pleasure meeting your acutance! I’m Apple Jack and this here is Apple bloom.” She stuck out her hoof.
“The pleasure is mine Applejack and Apple bloom.” I shook her hoof and smiled at the three “If you ever need an extra farm hand, I am mighty inclined to help.” I said somewhat kindly.
“We’ll keep that in mind, but at the moment everythin’ is under control.” Applejack said “If you want we can go and practice our shooting skills.” Mackintosh said as he began to lead the way over.
We finally arrived to a shooting practice range, were Big Mackintosh support us with guns from rifles to shotguns to revolver and pistols and began firing away shooting at tin cans and empty glass bottles that were no longer needed by them.
As the day went by quickly and it was starting to get dark and Applejack spoke, “We should start heading over to Sugar Cube Corner to go to the party, want to tag along Joco?”
I smiled “Sure, I was already invited by Pinkie in mornin’ anyways.”
We began trotting over to Ponyville and finally arriving at Sugar Cube Corner.
I saw a female unicorn with a blue coat pass by with a look of freight in her face screaming “SOMEONE HELP ME! WHY ISN’T ANYONE HELPING ME!” as another pony chased hastily after her and disappeared around the corner, I laughed.
“New game they must be playin’, I’ll have to learn the rules later.” I smiled and continued to enter Sugar Cube Corner with Big Mac, Applejack, and Apple bloom.
Upon entering I was immediately greeted with a confetti blast straight the face “SURPRISE!” Pinkie Pie said loudly “Did I surprise you well enough?” she asked.
My ears were still ringing from the confetti blast but I was able to under stand her lips and I laughed “Yeah, you did.”
She smiled as she made her way into the party crowd and began to introduce me to her friends. Thankfully my ears had stopped ringing by the time she began.
“This is Rainbow Dash.” Pinkie said as I saw a cyan Pegasus with a rainbow mane.
“Nice to meet you.” I said and Rainbow Dash turned around “Nice to meet you too.” She looked at my jacket “Wow that’s a cool jacket; I think I got one too at my house.” she replied as she went to get a cupcake.
Pinkie moved on a little bit before stopping again.
“This is Fluttershy.” She said as I looked at the Yellow Pegasus with a pink mane and I smiled
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m Joco!” I said.
However Fluttershy starred awkwardly at the ground moving her hoof and said in soft kind quiet voice, “Nice to meet you too.”
I stuck out my hoof, but at the same time she backed up a tiny bit and I realized I made a mistake of somewhat startling her and put my hoof down.
“Oh that’s my fault, I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to startle you!” I said.
She looked up and spoke “Oh it’s not your fault.” She smiled shyly however Pinkie dragged me off before I could start a conversation.
“This is Rarity.” I saw a white Unicorn with a curly purple mane, she starred at me first and her eyes seemed to have widened.
“My word, what interesting mane style you have darling! What do you use in your mane to get it so shiny and at the same time in that form?” She paused remembering she hadn’t properly introduced herself “I’m sorry where are my manners? I’m Rarity and nice to meet you!” She said.
I chuckled and stuck out my hoof “Nice to meet you too Rarity my name is Joco, by the way I use pomade in my hair.”
She shook my hoof “Pomade? Interesting.” She said as a purple unicorn entered into the conversation.
“Hey what are we talking about girls?” She said as she stared at me.
“Hi I’m Twilight Sparkle, sorry to ask you this but have I seen you before?” She said as she stuck out her hoof.
“I’m Joco, I get that a lot and I’m sorry to say but I'm not sure if we’ve met before.” I shook her hoof, at the same time trying to remember if I did meet Twilight Sparkle somewhere before, but I couldn’t.
Pinkie turned in my direct “So now that you’ve met my best friends, let the party begin!” she said and went up to the music box and turned up the volume on max and began dancing.
I smiled and chuckled soon I decided to dance awkwardly along with Pinkie Pie and the rest of the party guests.
After a while of dancing and messing around I tired out and decided to get some punch, I trotted over and looked at the cups but I didn’t want to grab any for I had another thing on my mind, I looked both sides to make sure no one was watching me then dunked my face into the punch bowl and began drinking it “naturally” as some would say.
I finished when I realized that there wasn’t anymore punch left in the bowl, I scanned the whole room to make sure no one was watching me, at the corner of my eye I saw Big Mackintosh sitting alone near a window and decided to hastily trot over and converse with him before anyone realized I finished the punch.
“Are you enjoyin’ the party?” I asked.
“Eeyup!” He replied.
I looked at him “Got anyone to chat or hang around with at the party?”
“Nnope, except you and besides parties aren’t really my thing” He replied.
I looked out into the misty night through the window “Do you know…”
Before I could continue I was distracted from the corner of my eye I saw a hoof touching the window then slowly slide to the other side leaving a trace of dark fluid as it went by, I went up to the window and looked left and right wondering where did the owner of the hoof.
Mackintosh turned to look towards me, “Saw someone you knew pard?”.
I came back to reality and spoke “No… I mean… I think I saw somethin’, or maybe it’s just my eyes are playin’ tricks on me. It’s getting late might and I think it’s about time for me to hit the dusty trail.” I said.
Big Mackintosh looked at me “Goodnight.” He stuck out his hoof for a brohoof which he received
“Take care and ‘night!” I told everyone saying goodbye and went out the door and began trotting into the open streets of Ponyville.
I went out I scanned the streets and realized that for being Friday night it was eerily quiet and misty, I began trotting trying to stay in the light of the lamp posts.
As I continued I began to hear a lone repeating clip clop noise, I turned my head to look behind me but saw nothing; I scanned the street still staying in the light.
“Is someone there?” I asked but there was no reply except for the lonely howl of the wind not even followed by nocturnal animals.
I started trotting again and got a good distance before the clip clop noise began again somehow closer then when it started. I stopped as I arrived to my street and the following clip clop noise stopped once again
“I know you’re there and joke has gone long enough, come the hay out right now or I won’t be held responsible for whatever pain I’ll inflict on yah!” I yelled to whatever seemed to be stalking me but still didn't recieve reply.
I looked down my street and saw the only lamp post there had a light bulb that was buzzing and flickering, suddenly it flickered out the street suddenly darkened along with the mist.
“This don’t feel right, not right at all.” I began at a slow moving pace not trying to make any noise what so ever, the clip clop noise started again
I began to move at a faster pace and the clip clop noise became faster, I began to gallop at full speed and the clip clop noise followed along.
I arrived to my house, keys in hoof, opened the door, and looked back behind me expecting to see the stalker but saw nothing but the darken misty street on which I lived on, however from the end of the street I saw what seemed to be a tall slender dark silhouette standing in the mist.
Although I could not see any eyes I knew it was fixed on me and saw it slowly disappear off into the darkness with the clip clop noise following it.
I slammed the door shut behind me and locked the door; I locked the back door and I went to shut all blinds to stop any seeing eyes from looking inwards at my house, I went to my room, took off my jacket and put it on a hanger in the closet and went to bed however still worried about what was stalking me in the darkness, my mind seemed to have passed the thought and I began to sleep.
I awoke later on in the night with a weird sensation that someone is watching me; I stuck my hoof into my pillow pulling out a hidden bowie knife, and got out of bed.
I began to slowly make my way into the living room where the main door was and went to the window and peeked through the blinds, “Leave me alone already!” I whispered for what I saw was the dark silhouette in the mist right on the street outside of my house.
I closed the blinds and began to rub my eyes “I’ve had enough of this I’m goin’ outside and confrontin’ it.” I said reassuring that I was able to subdue silhouette whatever it may be, I peeked again through the blinds.
“BLOODY BUCKIN’ HAY!” I jumped back in horror as I saw the dark silhouette standing right outside the window what seemed to be it peering through the window back at me, the blinds closed and the door handle began moving back and forth, after the failed attempt it stopped. Knowing the door was locked it left the porch as the clip clop noise followed, I went for the back door not remembering if I locked or not…
“LET ME SLEEP IN PEACE YOU FORESAKEN NAG!” I yelled as something began to slam against the back door repeatedly but soon gave up as well knowing it was useless.
“I’M GETTING’ MY GUN!” I said and began to back up to my room and locked the door. I sat at the edge of my bed with the bowie knife in hoof and stayed guarding the door just incase if the thing had some sort of teleportation power.
After a while no other attempts were made but I couldn’t stay sure, soon sleep began to overwhelm me, my eye lids fell shut and I fell back onto my bed. I awoke again after hearing the screams of someone and several gunshots outside.
I rushed to put my leather jacket on and combed my mane back. I galloped out of my room and through the front door with the bowie knife in my hoof.
I shut the door of my house behind me as I stepped out and began looking around as everything looked like a living nightmare the streets where now looking like hell…
I saw in the night some ponies on their roofs, some homes were on fire and writing on the walls saying “WE’RE ALL GOING TO HELL” and “THE DEAD HAVE RISEN!” and smeared on a nearby wall “HELP ME” and smears off to one side in shiny crimson red liquid which I soon realized was fresh blood, for staggering against the wall was a brutally tortured mare
“Help… Please…?” She said sliding against the wall smearing her blood as she fell to the floor.
A blood quickly began to surround her body; she turned over on her back revealing that her underside had been ripped violently open.
The large and small intestines and nearby organs hanged out loosely from her stomach zone, her broken rib cage was sticking out and looked as though someone pounded there way in and brutally succeeded.
She gagged on her blood that came up her throat as it found its way out of her mouth not allowing a single break for air, only emitting gurgles.
The blood was filling up the organs she had left inside of her and overflowing out of her body like a cup overflowing with water, the blood finally spilled out staining red even more her white fur coat.
“WHAT IN THE HAY IS GOIN’ ON?” I yelled out.
Suddenly I’m grappled by an ill looking pony that seemed to be badly injured with blood shot eyes and blood all over his fur coat, he snapped his jaws at me and in return to the hostile state I punched him straight in the face, knocking him straight to the ground.
“WHAT'S WRONG WITH YAH?!” I yelled at him
He moaned loudly as he got back up and started pounding away at me and trying to bite me at every chance it got, freaked out I returned another punch but this time with my hoof that had the bowie knife in and I watched as it went through his rib cage and he continued at me.
My eyes widen as I held him off with my knife in his chest “Wh-What kind of freak are you?”.
I pulled out my bowie knife and began stabbing it repeatedly in the chest but to no result except blood oozing out of his wounds.
“C’mon die already!” I finally drove it straight into the eye socket with the sole purpose of killing him; then pulled the knife out with the eye ball and watched as blood squirt out from the eye socket, I watched him stumble a little and finally fell to the floor.
“LET’S SEE IF YAH STAY DEAD!” I yelled at the corpse and smashed it’s skull in with my right hind leg hoof splattering blood and brain matter on my hoof and ground.
A yellow male pony gallops towards my direction “Can you tell me…”
I asked but he passed by and continued to gallop while yelling “RUN FOR YOUR LIFES HERE THEY COME!”
I didn’t understand the frighten absurd pony so I looked back in the direction of where he was coming from.
“OH SHIT!” I said and began to gallop as fast as I could in the opposite direction as a horde of the half-witted ponies started flooding the other side of the street.
As I continued galloping trying to loose the horde that was hot on my trail I saw countless acts of cannibalism, chaos, and blood shed continue.
I saw others galloping in the chaos screaming and yelling for salvation as their attackers followed behind them and the corpses of ponies on the ground that seemed to have been mutilated recently from their pool of blood around them were now coming back to the living world.
“This ain’t right, it has to be all in my head!” I said while I soon realized that turning at every corner of the streets I encountered I soon I returned back to my street what seemed to have now been left with bloody horseshoe prints scattered all over the road.
I galloped to my house again and proceed to enter making sure no one else was following me and slammed the door behind me, I turned on the radio inside of my house and the radio broadcast began.
“There is a new epidemic spreading across Ponyville causing absurd amounts of violence amongst one another… avoid contact to anyone who moans by all means necessary… lock your doors and stay inside… avoid trying to reach family or loved ones… More information will come within the hour… This is not a safety drill I repeat not a safety drill… ”
I heard the broadcast repeat as I removed a carpet from the floor revealing my secret door leading to the basement.
As I entered the basement I pulled on the cord that would turn on the light bulb. A light flickered and soon the whole room was lit, soon revealing ammunition of all kinds and a large collection of guns ranging from rifles, shotguns, and hand guns that had 19th Century Engravings.
My first choice was the Mondragon Rifle with five 20 Round Magazines and one 100 Drum Magazine but I remembered it would burn through ammo quickly for the task at hoof “I’ll save it for later when I’m truly screwed!”.
I returned it along with its ammunition and grabbed my second choice a Springfield Model 1903, then grabbed a Sawn-Off Colt Double Barrel Shotgun, and a .45 Colt Peacekeeper (7.5” Length Barrel).
I loaded all the guns, put on a satchel for any extra items like binoculars and things later on, and five boxes that consists 20 .30-06 Rifle rounds in each box, then along with a rifle holster then I continued to put on a black leather torso Bandolier with a total of 100 .30-06 Army Rifle Rounds on it.
Then another black leather torso bandolier this time consisting of 100 12 gauge shotgun shells now causing one bandolier to over lap the other across his chest.
Finally I put on a black leather waist bandolier with 100 rounds of .45 Colt with a holster on the right side and a leather sheath for my Bowie knife on the left side.
I sighed now ready to confront anything that came in my way as I got out of by basement turning off the light and closing the secret door and covered it again with the carpet.
As I left the comfort of my house I was immediately confronted by a flesh eating pony which immediately met my bowie knife with nice warm welcoming to the temple of its head “Not exceptin’ me weren’t yah?” I chuckled.
I trotted out of my street and began to gallop through the streets of a living hell hole of what once was Ponyville which I now found myself in.
Once scanning the streets for survivors and the further I got worse it got with more blood and bodies I saw. I began to make my through the market of Ponyville and arrived at coffee and donut shop, I pulled and pushed the door but to no results, I peered in through the window to see that all the lights were turned off, I scanned the room trying to make out any signs of a struggle but I couldn’t. I looked around my surroundings to see if there were any soulless beasts around and to my relief there wasn’t any, I began banging on the door.
“Mr. Cappuccino if you’re ok opens the doors, if you don’t open the door I assume your dead and I’ll break the door down!” I yelled.
Soon a figure emerged from the darkness within the store and began unlocking the door with keys and the door swung open “Joco! Thank Celestia it’s you! Come quickly my wife is hurt!” Mr. Cappuccino said.
I entered the shop “What hap…!”
I slipped on something slippery nearly falling on to the floor.
“One of those psychopaths came in earlier this night and bit Mrs. Cremosa tore a chunk out of her arm and spilling blood everywhere!” Mr. Cappuccino said and looked over to one side of the room with the dead corpse lying on the ground “So in my defense and to stop it from attacking my wife any further then what it had already done I smashed its head in with a rolling pin.”
I shrugged as if it was something normal for self defense and wasn’t as bad as what I have done to others and proceed to enter the back room with him.
I saw Ms. Cremosa on the ground sitting with an unusually pale coat then her normal crème coat “Deary, is that you? I don’t feel so good, I think I’m getting worse” She moaned.
“Don’t worry Honey, I’ll get you out of here or die trying!” He replied back.
I helped Mr. Cappuccino get Ms. Cremosa up on her hooves to move her to the front of the store “Joco, check behind the counter there should be a revolver.”.
I left Mr. Cappuccino to check behind the counter to find a loaded Schofield Revolver III and 18 Colt .45 Rounds and I gave him what he rightfully owned, not even thinking of stealing a single bullet.
“Thanks Joco, I appreciate the help, I really do! I can take Mrs. Cremosa to the hospital on my own now seeming that you safely!” Said Mr. Cappuccino.
“Alright, you take care of yourself then!” I said without arguing about his thought.
I began to gallop in the other direction to the Sugar Cube Corner, as I continued further down the street I saw that a group of 12 psychopaths were surrounding an orange Pegasus filly and a grey Unicorn that were up against the wall as they screamed for help
“This is all your fault!” said a gray unicorn filly.
“No it’s yours Silver Spoon, you just had to act better then I am!” said the orange Pegasus.
“HELP! PLEASE SOMEBODY!” the Pegasus looked around and finally looked in my direction as they got closer “HELP MISTER PLEASE!” with tears rolling down her cheeks as she thought her life was now coming to a slow painful end.
I couldn’t bear being a witness of young defenseless fillies be eaten alive by the blood thirsty savages so I pulled out my Colt Peacekeeper, aimed, and began firing away at the heads of the attackers.
Down went one then another and racked up the kill of 6 attackers (6 bullets that were previous already loaded in Colt Peacekeeper) but soon realized that there was still more left and getting ever so closer to the fillies. I looked in horror as the life of them depended on me. I realized it would take to long to reload I holstered my revolver and pulled out my Bowie knife.
Suddenly the closest psychotic cannibals grabbed the grey Unicorn filly.
“NO!” She screamed “I promise… I-I won’t be mean… anymore!” she pleaded as she kicked and squirmed as they began clamping bites on her, she screamed out in pain as they continued biting her.
One attacker bit down to the bone on her leg and ripped the chunk of meat off, they fought over who got more and continued as they pulled her little arms straight out of its sockets squirting fresh blood on her attackers, from the smell and the taste of their victim they craved even more.
One bit her ear off trying to find a way into her skull while the others ripped away at her stomach eating any organ that came to view. The blood dripped and spilled in every which way on the dirt road, once they thought that it was useless they chucked the already mauled victim off to the side and turned there attention to the other filly.
“HEY FREAKS I’M RIGHT HERE!” I yelled.
They looked over in my direction “DAMN STRAIGHT I’M TALKIN’ TO YAH!” I yelled trying to distract them from attacking the next filly, they decided that another filly wasn’t going finish their hunger and charged in my direction.
Gun shots rang out from afar and the undead began dropping like flies I looked trying to spot the shooters and saw that 3 ponies with Spencer Repeater Carbines were on nearby roof tops; I reloaded my gun at ease with (94 Colt .45 left).
I waved giving thanks at the armed ponies for the last minute reinforcements and went to reinsure the safety of the young one “Are you ok, did they hurt you?” I asked.
She shook her head “THANK YOU THANK YOU and No I’m fine.”
I sighed but the thought someone might not be around next time caused my hospitality to change into anger.
“WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN’ OUT HERE, DON’T YOU SEE WHAT IS HAPPENIN’? RETURN TO THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY BEFORE YOU GET YOURSELF KILLED!” I said
The filly began to sob “I can’t!” tears running down her face but not of fear “The… they… they’re” she stuttered on her words.
“What they’re what? Spit it out!” I said.
She broke out crying falling on her knees “They’re gone, they’re gone!” she screamed out while crying.
I was stunned by what she said “Gone, what do you mean… Oh” I looked down and knew what she meant by gone. I couldn’t resist feeling remorse for her.
“I’m sorry that I yelled at you and about your friend and I’m sorry to hear that kid” I said.
“She wasn’t my friend… And its ok.” the filly said.
Gun shots rang out and one of the ponies on the roofs yelled out “Here come more of them!”.
The filly clung to my leg “Please don’t leave me here alone!”
I looked down at the helpless filly’s sad little eyes and saw myself for a second, I sighed knowing that I will now taken on a responsibility that I might not be able to accomplish I sighed “You can come with me”.
She smiled and hugged my leg “Thank you!” she said.
I choked a smile “You seem pretty young, do you know how to fly at all?” I asked.
“Kind of, by the way my name is Scootaloo.” She replied and began flapping her small wings and I saw that she could only hover close to the ground and I shrugged.
“That’s good enough in my book by the way my name Joco, kiddo.” We noticed that the blood raged ponies had gained some ground during our encounter and we began to gallop away from the area also trying to avoid the monstrous hordes at all costs along the way trying to get to Sugar Cube Corner.
As we arrived to the street of Sugar Cube Corner, I looked around making sure there was no presence of the deranged freaks but to my dismay there seemed to be two directly outside of Sugar Cube Corner.
“Their might still be survivors inside… Or they might all be dead already, who knows? There’s only one way to find out!” I took out the Double Barreled Sawn-Off Shotgun and aimed but before I decided to shoot I looked at Scootaloo who was looking back up to me.
“Do you know how to use a firearm, kid?” I asked.
She shook her head no “Then this is the day to learn how then.” I said and gave her the Shotgun and the bandolier; I began to give the instructions “This gun is only good at close range. You point and pull; it’s not so hard and you reload every two shots.”
She nearly collapsed when she took the gun “It’s pretty heavy!” She started flapping her wings trying to help herself up but failed to.
I chuckled a little on the inside and smiled “Here let me help you!” I helped her up and stood behind her for support.
She aimed and pulled both triggers, she went flying back into me due to the recoil of the shotgun as the shots rang and decapitated the blood thirsty ponies.
I couldn’t resist from laughing that for being a Pegasus she actually flew without using her wings “Nice job Kid!” I complemented.
“I’M GOING TO HAVE TO GET USED TO THIS!” Scootaloo said in excitement as she reloaded the gun (98 Shells).
As we began to trot into Sugar Cube Corner I pulled out my Colt Peacekeeper “Stay close behind and cover me.” I breathed heavily and entered first. It was dark seemed to lack any life what so ever, my hoof searched for the light switch on the wall but couldn’t find one nearby.
The lights flickered on “OH SHIT!” I nearly evaded being greeted personally to the face with a frying pan; the frying pan however met the wall with a good amount of speed leaving a dent in the wall and cracks around it.
The pony began swinging it back in forth trying to whack me with it “STOP RIGHT NOW, I’M NOT ONE OF D’EM! I yelled as I began dodging swings from the startled pony.
I finally got distance between my attacker and I and whipped out my revolver and aimed it at him and now I had him in my sights.
“PUT IT DOWN RIGHT NOW AND STAY COOL OR I’LL COOL YOU DOWN WITH HOT LEAD!” I yelled now with the biggest smile on my face knowing I had the upper hand.
The other pony immediately dropped the frying pan with both hooves in air and stepped back up against the wall, I saw that he wasn’t the only pony there and that I didn’t take the time to realize it during the confrontation that everyone was currently armed with everyday cooking utensils such as cutting knives, pans, and rolling pins.
“No harm intended, I’m puttin’ away my gun!” I said and holstered my gun trying to reinsure the safety of everyone within the store.
“So by the looks of it y’all have seen what’s goin’ on then?” I said, everyone gaze at me but still silent “So how many of us are here and anyone got any bright ideas on how to survive?” I asked.
“Let’s stay here where it’s safe and wait until help arrives!” Said one.
“How long is it going to take for help to arrive and how do you know if there is any help? I don’t want to have to starve in here and force into cannibalism like those freaks outside. If we are going to stay here lets round up supplies then.” said another amongst the crowd.
I smiled “Alrighty then, anyone want to tag along to the Gun Smith to get firearms and ammunition?” I said but the crowd grew silent once again, I sighed.
“So I’m the only one here that got grit then?” someone coughed, but the crowd remained silent “No one serious? C’mon even Scootaloo got more courage then the whole lot of ya! You’re all a bunch of yellow…”
Suddenly a familiar cyan Pegasus came out from the crowd.
“Scootaloo!” she said and I realized it was Rainbow Dash as she went over to hug Scootaloo.
“Are you ok?” Rainbow Dash asked.
Scootaloo nodded “Yeah I’m fine! I have Joco to thank!” Scootaloo said Rainbow Dash looked over at me.
“You seem trust worthy and confident, and if it makes you happy I’ll go with you!” Rainbow Dash said as she took a nearby kitchen knife as a weapon, I smiled as I looked back at the crowd.
“Do we have any other volunteers?” A small group of 6 ponies consisting of 3 stallions and 3 mares stepped out from the crowd to volunteer “That’s more like it then!” I said.
I went outside to see if the ghost was clear I looked to right then the left and saw no dim-witted savages “Alrighty then get any supplies you can get hold of and rally back here, got it? BREAK FOR IT!” I said as we broke into to two groups and went in different directions. I galloped alongside Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash, and an unknown light brown stallion to the Gun Smith.
The store wasn’t that far and without any confrontations with the savages we soon arrived to the Gun Smith.
“I don’t have a good feelin’ about this ‘cause it was chaos for me arrivin’ to Sugar Cube Corner.” I said quietly.
“I believe you, and that’s why we have to gather all we can get and get out of here quick!” Rainbow Dash replied as we entered the store.
Suddenly the door bell jingled “Damn it!” I said not knowing that the store owner had recently installed it, however nothing happened.
At the front we each grabbed a bag and began looting all the aisles taking anything we saw of interest “It matters what you take, and make sure you’re bringin’ the ammo that corresponds to the firearm.”
We grabbed a mixture of guns ranging from revolvers, shotguns, repeating rifles, rifles and ammo, as we began to leave I remembered that there was the locked door behind the counter.
“Hey-hey-hey what do we got over here?!” I went over and tried looking for the keys on the front counter but couldn’t find them.
I was about to kick the door down but remembered that there could be psycho cannibals nearby so I pulled out my knife from its sheath and began stabbing away around the lock trying to take out door knob. I soon opened it and saw several boxes and barrels of TNT and what seemed to be straight off the line Semi-Automatic firearms.
“Bastard lied to me… Jackpot!” I said “Could you guys help me load this up?” as I grabbed a box and passed it off to Rainbow Dash, then one to the light brown stallion, then finally one barrel of TNT to Scootaloo, “From all boxes and barrels we’ll have to make a second trip!”
We left the Gun Smith in a hurry with our share of supplies to get to Sugar Cube Corner. As we arrived without stopping knowing that if we were to encounter dim-witted savages we wouldn’t last very long carrying a lot supplies.
“I don’t like this one bit, killers don’t disappear without any disturbances.” I said.
“They probably have not come back since they think there’s nothing is here.” Rainbow Dash said
“And where are the other survivors?” I asked as we entered Sugar Cube Corner, putting the bags of firearms and ammo on counter.
“Everyone listen up now we will start distributing firearms, if you don’t received one speak to Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, or…” I paused.
The light brown stallion took this as a sign and spoke “Caramel.”
I continued “Or me, now does anyone knows how use a firearm?” I asked a saw very few hooves rise in the air.
I sighed “We’ll use guns only when we need to then!” Just as we began to distribute, the other group finally arrived and out of breath.
“We couldn’t find much supplies, but we brought at least something!” said the stallion that seem to have taken charge of the group while inhaling and exhaling quickly “But we have bigger problems… We got company!”
They immediately began distributing baseball bats, shovels, axes, hammers, wrenches and pocket knives for a quick substitute that they brought back with them from their houses and any nearby hardware stores.
“We got to barricade these doors!” I said as we began moving all nearby furniture to the front and back door. To our dismay we didn’t have the time nor the resources at the moment to nail down boards to the windows.
“Everyone who didn’t get a gun, come get one because there are only a few left!” I began to hand out the remaining guns and their ammunition, then I took out my bowie knife “Everyone get the hell away from the windows!” I yelled.
From the mere shuffling, moaning, screams and cries of the deranged murders outside would make anyone go insane, one stallion couldn’t keep calm and spoke “What are they…”
Suddenly one of the maniacs broke through the window with a loud scream as the glass shards where stuck in its body. “I got it!” Said a mare as she immediately began beating away the maniac with a baseball bat.
That wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg Soon the hordes began their attack against the store “Change of plans, station yourself in front of a window and don’t let d’em get through!” I said.
I galloped up to one window as one began to crawl in “NO YOU DON’T!” I yelled and kick it back outside as it land on top of several others “Ten points fool!” I laughed to myself as I saw as other survivors began whacking and slashing at the wretched maniacs that managed to enter.
I soon realized that it were too many to handle and we began to become overwhelmed, “PLAN A AIN’T WORKIN’!” I pulled out my Springfield 1903 and fired a shot at an incoming maniac in the head.
“BLOW THEIR BRAINS OUT!” I yelled as I pulled the bolt back on the rifle and the empty rifle round flew out, then I put in another bullet and push the bolt forwards and fired again as the homicidal freaks continued to enter through the windows(198 .30-06 Rounds left).
The other survivors began firing away, all together the shots rang out creating an interesting tune of highs and lows “We might just make it through.” I thought to myself; however it lost beat after I heard a mare scream.
I turned back to see that an insane killer seem to have broken through our defense and was now mauling a purple mare.
She fell back as the strange maniac pounded away at her chest trying to break her ribs and bit a large chunk out from her stomach splattering blood on the nearby wall and ceiling and began pulling and tearing away at her intestines that began to spill out on to the floor and the rest of her insides in a violent matter.
Her screams for help turned to screams of pain as she struggled to get the attacker off of her, she squirmed trying to escape, the deranged being bit down hard on her throat and tore the chunk. Her resistance caused her to fire her revolver in a random direction injuring another survivor in the knee with a stray bullet.
Scootaloo came up from behind and performed an execution straight to the head of violent stranger (97 .12 Gauge shells left) Blowing his brain matter on wall “Are you ok?” Scootaloo asked the mare.
“Scootaloo don’t look!” I said as I galloped behind her and covered her eyes to stop her from witnessing a hideous image.
The mare was convulsing on the floor, desperately gasping for air with blood squirting out from the hole in her throat staining her purple fur coat red and blood hitting the floor with each failed attempt to breath, she covered her neck but it was useless the blood continued to gush out.
Bleeding out in seconds her body was soon surrounded by a pool of blood and the convulsions slowed down and soon gave out. The blood made a stream that soon leaded out the window and the maniacs grabbed her dead body that was by the window and began to pull her outwards.
“NO!” a stallion yelled as he tried to grab hold of the dead body.
“Someone help…” Soon he began to slide out the window himself “You’re not keeping this one!” He said as they continued pulling and finally dragged him out of the window as well.
A different attacker grabbed hold of each limb of his body and tugged violently “AHHH!!!” He screamed out in pain as they continued to pull and soon followed by the noise of bones cracking and flesh tearing and his limbs finally ripped apart forming a mist of blood, pieces of meat, and guts drizzling onto the hordes of attackers and on the wall of Sugar Cube Corner.
I began to wonder how long would we survive at this rate loosing numbers and attracting more psycho killers with loud noises from the gun shots “HEAD UP STAIRS, WE’LL HOLD D’EM OFF UP THERE!” I yelled.
“ON MY COMMAND, FIRE!” someone yelled from outside followed by large amounts of whistles, to our amazement the blood raged killers outside began to drop dead like flies and we killed the remaining left inside. We all went over and looked outside through the windows to see what had happened and saw that the Royal Guards had finally arrived.
“WE’RE SAVED!” screamed one of the mares in joy as she galloped outside “I’m not one of the crazies!” she said and began thanking her savors, others soon followed.
I observed as the crowd of survivors that came out, some of the survivors thanked me before they went out but what I was observing was aside from Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo that Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Apple Bloom, and Big Mackintosh were not amongst the survivors.
“Hey where your friends?” I asked
Rainbow Dash shrugged her shoulders “I’m not sure… I think they left early, Applejack said something about a new apple or something.” She said.
“How come you didn’t go with d’em?” I asked “Well apples are not all that interesting to me.” She replied.
“Well that sums up my luck then I’ll be headin’ on over to Sweet Apple Acres then, any of you remember the way?” I asked.
As I went outside and saw it was night Rainbow Dash gave a smile and went back inside, grabbed the remaining ammo consisting of 3 10 Round Clips (30 .351 Rounds) for her Winchester Model 1907, “I can show you the way but I’m tagging along, I have to make sure my friends are ok!” Rainbow Dash said.
“If Rainbow Dash goes, I want to go too!” Said Scootaloo.
Rainbow Dash looked back at her with a worried face “Sorry but you are going to have sit out on this one because I don’t want anything bad happening to you on this trip.” She said.
Scootaloo shot a sad look “Let me go with you two please?” She sniffled as the thought of being alone again entered her mind but she soon gave a smile and looked in my direction.
“Joco will let me go with you?” she asked.
My eyes widen in surprise “Well… Um… Sure why not Kid? You can use experience anyways.”
Scootaloo looked at Rainbow Dash “See he’ll let me be part of his group, plus they’re my friends as well!”
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and shot me a confident look “Fine!” she said.
We began our way to Sweet Apple Acres, I galloped alongside Scootaloo while Rainbow Dash watched from above for any blood thirsty killers nearby “Shh…” I whispered to Scootaloo as a group of attackers came into few “Think we can handle d’em?” I asked
“Yes!” she replied with confidence.
I gave Rainbow Dash a few signals that we were going to dispose of them quietly, I advanced quietly behind the first and slit his throat with my bowie knife but it worked to perfect that it cut down to the column that the head came off and the headless body hit the floor alerting the others of my presence.
“Damn it!” I said as the next advanced towards me, I punched her straight in the face into to the ground and stomped her skull in splattering blood and brain matter onto my right back hoof, I felt the next one jump onto my back.
“NO, YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO BE FASTER” I said as I was going ram him against the floor but I soon felt the weight lift off me, I wonder what just happened so I looked behind myself and saw nothing then I looked up.
Rainbow Dash had picked up the attacker and had him high in the air “You’re not really smart are you?” she said before letting go of him in mid air.
I watched as he came down with a hard splat as he hit the ground. From the sound was obvious he broke his neck upon impact “Got to touble tap to make sure!” I said as I stomped in his head aswell
“I have your back!” Rainbow Dash said.
I smiled “I know thanks.”
As we continued we arrived to Sweet Apple Acres I looked up and from anyone’s ground point of view that the rainbow trail that followed Rainbow Dash when she flew was highly noticeable, “Rainbow Dash come down please, we don’t want to attract any attention to ourselves or it’s goin’ to make our job several times worse!”
She flew down immediately and was now with us at ground level as we began entering the apple orchard.
I began looking around, I saw an over turned apple cart and picked an apple from it. I looked at it then passed one to Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo.
“I haven’t eaten since the party and I could eat.” I said as I began eating away at the apple along the path we where trotting on, we first passed the house however due to the fact that the lights weren’t on we went straight to the barn for there was a single let lantern through the window.
“Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash cover me!” I whispered and un-holstered my revolver and slowly began trying to open the door of the barn, the door creaked.
I realized that the element of surprise was no gone and I kicked the door completely opened charging in, I was immediately tackled by a red stallion knocking my revolver away.
“BUCK!” I yelled as I fell backwards and my skull made a thud as it hit a nearby rock and everything went dark.
My eyes slowly opened and my blurred vision made out a red stallion standing over me “BUCK OFF!” I yelled as I immediately kicked him straight in the stomach sending him back as I began to get up.
“Eeyup… I guess… I deserved that one!” He said
“Thought we lost you for a second!” Said a mare.
My eye sight came back and I soon realized that I was in a barn and not alone.
“What was that for?” another mare asked.
“My bad I saw red and thought it was blood and not the first time I awake with someone watchin’ me.” I said.
I saw Twilight, Fluttershy, Rarity, Sweetie Bell, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Big Macintosh all armed with a mixture of Western Frontier Weapons, I also saw Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo armed with their weapons “Nice little posse you got here!” I said.
“Sorry about bashin’ your head against that rock.” Said Big Mackintosh as he passed me my revolver, “I didn’t know it was you, and there were those violent psychotic biters outside!” He said.
I chuckled “Psychotic biters? Good One! Anyways there can’t be that many as there were at Sugar Cube Corner!” I said.
Pinkie Pie’s gasped in horror “THEY ATTACK SUGAR CUBE CORNER? OH PICKLES! DID ANYONE SURVIVE?” she asked.
“Yes there were a lot of survivors, two died though while I was there and sadly I’m not sure if any died before I arrived.” I said then turned to Twilight “What’s your thought on all of this chaos?”
Twilight sighed “It doesn’t seem logical! But then again it could be serious magic at work.” She said.
I tilted my head a little bit “Is there somewhere we can find out more information to this?” I asked.
“Yeah at the library” She gulped “Across town” She looked worried.
When she gulped I remembered how I drank coffee peacefully prior to the events and it finally hit me, Mr. Cappuccino “Hey how far is the hospital from the library?” I asked.
“Nearby. Wait, how come?” Twilight asked.
“Uh, no reason! Let’s get goin’ then, the more time we spend doin’ nothin’ is goin’ to get us killed!” I said and everyone saddled up with whatever supplies we needed and headed out into the night.
“If we ever need a place to fall back to, Sweet Apple Acres is the place.” Big Macintosh said.
I looked back at him “Sounds about right to me, we can fight d’em off from the second story of the house or the barn!”
We soon arrived on the main streets of Ponyville, I began to become slightly paranoid from the quiet surroundings as there was no signs of survivors or even the insane murders.
“Rainbow Dash, can you fly up and check around for us, please?” I asked.
Rainbow Dash flew up into the air then came back down “There’s small movement from the East but other then that nothin’ else and I think we can pass them if…”
“AHHH!!!” Rarity began screaming, followed by several gun shots which lead to the killer dropping onto the ground dead “Thank heavens she’s dead! She looked at me with blood dripping from her mouth and those awful devil blood shot eyes!” I sighed and face hoofed myself “We could have dealt that problem quietly! Now…”
Screams and moans began to erupt from nearby “Everyone stay together!” I yelled as we began to run as undead began to appear from nearby streets and alleyways.
Rainbow Dash flew upwards and began firing down at the hostile attackers with her Winchester Model 1907, she fired all 10 shots from the clip and began reloading again to continue on firing.
“Rainbow, cool it with that rifle of yours!” Applejack said.
Applejack then turned around and fired her .44 Winchester Model 1873 5 times at our following assailants, “I’ll lead d’em off our trail and you guys go on ahead. I’ll catch up later!” She said.
We were all startled by her self righteous sacrifice but it seemed to be a suicide plan to me so I grabbed her by the shoulder “We stick together as a group and by how many we’re attracting I don’t think you’ll be able to take d’em all on your own!” I said and pulled her along to continue on with the group.
“Conserve your ammo, rifle butt or pistol whip d’em if they get to close!” I yelled out.
“Look ahead, the library!” Twilight yelled out, the thought passed through my head. How will we get inside, did she ever mention she had keys?
“We got to get that door open!” I yelled as we got to the library and Twilight began banging the door “SPIKE OPEN UP QUICKLY!”
We looked back to see the murderous assailants were now galloping at full speed towards us, I began sweating “I would break the door down but then we won’t be able to use it for defense.”
Finally the door swung open and everyone ran inside and locked the door behind them and barricaded it quickly with nearby furniture, the attackers began slamming on the door trying to enter. “I-I can’t… breath!” Said Fluttershy panting for air.
I un-holstered revolver and pointed in the direction of the door, outside the noise of Pegasus’s soaring through the sky was heard and followed by a small amount of whistles and the attackers soon stopped trying to break their way in.
Twilight turned to look down at what seemed to be a small purple dragon “WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? THEY COULD HAVE KILLED US!” she yelled.
“Well I was sleep, and you just woke me up with your loud noise.” Twilight rolled her eyes.
“Spike, help me find any book about Evil Spirits or Dark Magic.” She began looking through the shelves.
During Twilight Sparkle’s search I looked around to see that the windows that were there were relatively small and didn’t seem to appose any threats at the moments, the windows seemed to be larger on the second floor but that really didn’t concern me.
Spike went into another room then re-entered the room with snacks and began handing them out “You all seem tired and why do you guys have guns?”
We all sighed “It’s a long story” everyone said.
We began eating the snacks and helped Twilight find a book but the search seemed to be futile because we were all tired and due to the lack of sleep, everyone else slowly began to fall asleep one by one.
It finally came down to Big Mackintosh and I who were awake “Get some rest, I’ll take watch.” Big Mackintosh said.
I yawned as he began to head up stairs, my eyelids began to close and I finally fell asleep hearing a gun shots going off here and there through out the night.
Flat Line
I awoke as dawn began to break with a throbbing headache “My head hurts…” I moaned quietly to myself.
I arose and while stretching I noticed that every pony was still asleepand I remembered Mr. Cappuccino once again “Might as check up on him.” I whispered then thought to myself “I’ll go alone to the hospital, I don’t want no one getting’ hurt now.”
As I began to make it to the door, I slowly and quietly moved the barricaded furniture from the door and tried to open it, however the door did not open “Oh c’mon!” I whispered.
I began pushing against the door trying to open it and finally rammed against it.
“Where are you going?” someone asked in a quiet voice.
“Damn it!” I whispered and I looked back to see that Scootaloo was also awake lying down “I’m gonna go visit a friend of mine to make sure he’s ok.” I said.
“Don’t tell me you are abandoning us? Please don’t leave!” Scootaloo saidas she went over and began hugging my leg and giving me a sad look.
Her facial expression in to me was like cold water hitting hot glass“I wouldn’t abandon you guys for the world, especially you kid-o!” I said as I sat down while giving her a hug.
“It’s part of bein’ a good friend to make sure other friends are out of any kind of trouble, anyways I’ll be back soon don’t worry darlin’, I’ll always be here!” I said.
Slowly letting go from the hug I began trying the open the door, the finally the door opened and from just looking outside it was noticeable why I couldn’t open the door because one of the attackers was killed by an arrow straight to the head and stuck to the door.
“Someone’s got a good eye!” I said and closed the door behind me.
I began my way to the hospital noticing the corpses on the floor and buildings with flames slowly dying into the ash, I started to space out wondering if this was reality or was at all in my head was it a form of a sick wretched nightmare or a day dream of survival, from all the thoughts that roamed in my head I didn’t notice that I arrived at the Hospital.
My jaw dropped as I saw that the outside front entrance of the hospital was littered with slaughtered Equestrian Army soldiers, “Somethin’ serious went down here!” I began to searching amongst the dead soldiers I realized that their guns have already been previously swiped “You got to be playin’ with me,Damn Luck!”
I finally came across a certain corpse, he didn’t appear to have a khaki uniform like the rest if not a blue uniform “You must be one of those veterans that kept their old uniform before the khaki uniform came in, am I right?” I askedironically to the corpse and got no response.
Searching his pockets hoping he would have a concealed weapon that someone hasn’t looted yet, but didn’t prevail however upon searching his pockets I didn’t find what I was looking for if not something I didn’t except, a folded up letter with a few drop stains on it.
From pure curiosity I couldn’t resist reading it “To my dearest wife, a new disease is spreading across Equestria and my job as always isto protect the civilians of Ponyville, and my current assignment is to stand guard at the hospital………. I would be a happy to see my son one last time and the arrival of my newborn daughter ………”
]My eyes skimmed across the letter and I stopped reading the and looked down at the dead soldier “Your luckseems most unfortunate, I know you can’t hear me but I’ll make sure your wife receives this letter” I tucked the letter into my pocket and walked up to the front doors opened the doorsof the hospital.
Immediately confronted by flies and the iron smell of blood in the air, I turned away trying not to vomit at the repugnant smell “That’s strong…” I gagged as I inhaled the air “Damn this forsaken shit hole!”
I coughed as the smell was so strong it felt as though I could taste it, I wrapped my black bandana around my maw to filter the smell and entered.
The massacre inside of the hospital seemed even worse then the scene outside as the red contrasted against the white “I remember comin’ to a hospital when I cracked my head open when I was a colt.” I said remembering that the average entrance of a hospitalwas white and tidy, however this wasn’t the case it was now a blood bath with blood covering every square inch of the floor, over turned gurneys, bodies, body parts, and organs scattered about in a violent manner, even the ceiling had blood splatters.
I began moving trying to avoid touching the corpses and make it to the front desk without making noise and not trying to slip in the blood.
As I arrived to the front desk I saw the bell ringer at the desk. Like any other I couldn’t resist ringing the bell and ironically waiting for some sort of assistance to arrive “Looks like no one is here to stop me then!” I said and hopped over the counter and grabbed the List of visitors and patients.
I began looking down the list that a lot of the visitors from last night didn’t have the sign out part signed and that many patients were considered dead upon arrive or died at the hospital “That ain’t good…”
The search paid off as I found amongst the list where Ms. Cremosa’s room was but I didn’t know my way around the hospital so I began to make my wayup the stairs through the hospital looking at all the numbers on the doors.
Once trotting up the stairs I went through the bloody halls and something grabbed my hoof, I freaked and un-holstered my revolver immediately and aimed it at the what grabbed my hoof.
“He.. Help me!” said the stranger, by the looks of the khaki uniform it was Equestrian Army soldier, he was lying on the floor missing his campaign hat and had his uniform ripped and blood stained.
“I’ll try my best, but I can’t promise you a thing friend!” I helped him back up on his hooves and began helping him across the hall, blood dripped from his wounds that seem to have been from bites.
We began checking all the rooms to see if there was a bed that wasn’t in use of a dead body or wasn’t stained in blood, finally arriving to a door with the sign “Lounge” I moved the knob but the door seemed to be locked “Well, that doesn’t stop me one bit!” I said.
I whipped out my revolver and broke the glass from pistol whipping it and unlocked the door from the inside.
As I opened the door I realized there was a white pony with a red cross cutie mark was cowering in the corner with a scalpel as a weapon “Don’t come any closer!” She said with a hint of fear in her voice.
“I ain’t one of D’em, so do me a favor and stop pointin’ that at me.” I said.
She calmed down as soon as she saw that I was accompanied by a woundedsoldier and helped me put him onto a nearby table “What do we have here?” She began examining him and his wounds.
He moaned in pain “Nurse can… I-I… Morphine?!” He inhaled and exhaled heavily.
The nurse pulled out from the drawer a container and gave two morphine pills to the patient.
“Um Nurse is it? This may be a wrong time to ask but do you know where a patient by the name of Cremosa would be at?” I asked
“Call me Nurse Red Heart, and yes I do actually she was one of the patients I had the chance to help out with, she was really nice and cooperative. She’s down the hall last door on the left”She said.
I began trotting down the hall and finally arrived to the last door on the left, I twisted the knob and it seemed to be locked.
“What’s with doors and being locked!” I smashed the window once again and allowed my self inside.
As I entered I was immediately confronted with a Revolver to the face “Joco! You found your way to the hospital!” Said the stranger with the gun.
I knew from the stranger’s voice it was Mr. Cappuccino. He lowered his revolver, I saw that he had on a leather jacket similar to mine and on the back wasa decal of extended Pegasus wings.
“Sorry about that.” He said and turned to see Ms. Cremosa who seemed to be lying on the bed “Look honey, our friend is here.” He paused “Like old times you remember?!” Mr. Cappuccino said as he sniffled.
Ms. Cremosa looked over at me and has not changed since last time I saw her at the café “Good… to see you!” She inhaled “I… very sleepy…” She said.
“Please don’t tell me that!” Mr. Cappuccino said as he went by her side and comforted her.
He began to pick her up from the bedin his arms “I’ll always be by your side till we grow old and die, and for now our love will keep one another alive!” He said.
She had tears running down her cheeks and looked at him; she gave him a peck on the cheek “That’s why I loved you and why I’ll always love... you…..” Her words were cut short as she gave her last exhale and by the look in her once colorful eyes were now colorless and lifeless as she died in his arms.
“Honey?” He shook her “HONEY?” He shook her once more.
“NO, NO, NOOO! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!” He yelled in denial at what was now her corpse while holding in his tears, he stumbled a little forward before he accepted it and he finally fell to his knees inemotional pain for the love of his life that he had promised to, since marriage that he would always love and care for had now died in his arms “DON’T LEAVE ME IN THIS COLD WORLD… ALONE!”He began yelling and screaming in pain and agony.
As it could be heard echoing in the “apparently” empty halls nearby of the Hospital.
“IT’S NOT FAIR; TAKE ME WITH YOU, ITS NEVER FAIR, TAKE ME NOW DAMN IT! PLEASE… I BEG YOU!” He yelled.
A single tear rolled down my cheek for I had my share of defeats in life, I slowly came back into reality of the events that had just taken place “Mr. Cappuccino, we have to leave! We don’t know how many of those undead freaks there are still around!”
He turned to me while sobbing “Shoot me!”
I was shocked by what he asked me to do “No, don’t say stupid things!”
“Shoot me! The love of my life that was by my side for many years has now gone just in a few seconds… My life isn’t worth living without her by my side…” He began to tear up “I-I j-just can’t take it anymore. If she goes out… I want to go with her!” He said.
Realizing that I wouldn’t kill him he looked at me as though I couldn’t have and never will feel his pain, he looked down to see that he still had his Revolver in hoof, hepointed the gun towards his head.
“No, no, no, don’t do it! Cremosa wouldn’t have wanted that… Uh…She would have wanted you to stay strong and carryon”I said as I tried reasoning with him to put the revolver down.
While I pulling out my revolver ready to shoot his out of his hoof to stop him from committing suicide, Ms. Cremosa’s body twitched.
Mr. Cappuccino spooked stopped “You’re still here with us honey?!” He hugged her body and tried to find a pulse.
Suddenly the corpse came back to life and lunged at him.
“No stop! What are you doing?” He yelled out in surprise as she began trying to bite him, in his resistance the revolver discharged on her right shoulder allowing a chance of opportunity to kick her off “I’m sorry…”
Once Ms. Cremosa was on the floor I dragged her off into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. “Ok, that will hold her back for a while!” I said.
As she began slamming and banging on the door“I-I can’t live with… with what I have done!” he said.
Before I could look back at Mr. Cappuccino had already had raised the revolver and pulled the trigger.
ClICK! The both of us waited to hear the gun to go off but silence was the only thing that filled the room after the click of an empty chamber, he pulled the trigger multiple times hoping a bullet would kill him CLICK,CLICK, CLICK.
I went over and took the gun from his hoof then wrapped an arm around him to comfort him “I’m sorry about what just happened to you, and if I could I would have prevented any of this from happenin’,and for your gun not goin’ off I hope you take this as a sign to continue on with the life you’re destined to live in.”
I helped him back up on his hoofs.
“Well, I’m sorry if you had to witness that failed suicide event.” Mr. Cappuccino said trying to forget what he just attempted.
“Don’t worry about it, we all have our moment.” I said as we began to trot down the hallway to arrive to the room that Nurse Red Heart and the Soldier was in.
“This isn’t looking to good.” The nurse backed away from her patient.
The soldier began vomiting chunks and blood while sitting in a somewhat hunched over position on the table “Please… I need… A Cure!” he fell to the floor with a loud thud laying in his vomit and blood, his eyes closed and he stopped breathing all together.
“He’s gone…”
Suddenly he looked up with blood shot eyes and gave a high-pitched scream.
I whipped out my revolver “The only cure for you is a bullet to the head!” I said but before I could fire the nurse blew his brains out with her Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket.
“It’s my job to take care of my patients even if it means ending them of their pain and misery.” she said as she put it back into the pocket of her jacket.
“I’m surprised! I thought nurses and doctors were peaceful healers and wouldn’t need a gun.” I teased and chuckled.
“Well you can never be toocareful!” She winked at me as she began to rack up all the first aid supplies as she could find and putting it into a white medic kit with a red cross on it “Where to now, hot shot?” She asked
“We’ll meet up with a few friends of mine at the library!”
We made our way to the Elevators“We’re takin’ the elevator ‘cause it’s quicker then stairsand they’ll hear us comin’ if go down the stairs.” I said.
I pressed the button for the elevator to come to our level “So… Nurse how’s it like workin’ at a hospital?” I asked.
“Good knowing your helping others get better.” She replied as the elevator arrived and door sled open and we went in.
“First Floor.” I said as I pressed the 1st floor button.
-The elevator began to descend Floor 3, Floor 2, Floor 1
“This is going more smoothly then what I thought.” Mr. Cappuccino said.
-The elevator made a terrible noise and suddenly jerked.
“That’s not supposed to happen!” Nurse Red Heart said
“Time to check it out!” I said as I moved the latch from ceiling of the elevator and went on top and saw that the elevator passed a little more what was needed but the shaft doors were open, I inspected the wiring which seemed to be perfectly intact “I see nothin’…”
I felt drips on the back of my neck and I began to hear a clicking noise from above so I decided to look up into the darkness and soon the noise of something falling followed.
A dead body appeared through the darkness from above and soon flew past me in elevator shaft and continued to fall into the descending darkness below and finally the basement.
Soon something began tugging on the elevators elevation cables “Everyone get out right now!” I said
“Why?” Nurse Red Heart Asked.
“Stop askin’ questions and get out” I said.
Mr. Cappuccino helped Nurse Red Heart get out first then we helped Mr. Cappuccino get up.
-The sounds of metal cables snapping started.
“Mr. Cappucino, you go up first to the floor then help me then we’ll help Nurse Red Heart.” I said
“Gotcha!” He said.
As I helped him and soon after he helped me get up, I turned back to the Nurse.
“Alrighty then, grab my hoof!” I said.
She gave me quizzical look and tried reaching but couldn’t, she through her stuff up to us and we put it aside.
“I’ll try again…” She said, and jumped.
-The metal cable snapped all together
I saw her fall a bit with the elevator as she jumped but she barely made it grabbing hold of my hoof.
“Oh! Dear Celestia!” She screamed.
Nurse Red Heart dangled from one of my hooves and was slipping away and she looked down “I don’t want to die!” She said as the Elevator slid down the shaft send sparks in every which way and finally hit the bottom with a loud crash.
I began here the clicking on metal from above in the darkness once again and looked up into the darkness to make out a dark silhouette coming down, I turned back and my eyes met with Nurse Red Heart’s eyes “Don’t worry we got you!” I said.
Mr. Cappuccino helped grabbed hold of her other hoof quickly and helped me get her up.
“QUICK SHUT THIS SHAFT DOOR NOW!” I yelled.
As I began trying to push the doors shut and Mr. Cappuccino soon followed.
The clicking on metal from inside the elevator shaft was drawing closer, just as we were shutting the last bit I saw the tip of a bloody white hook make attempt of getting out of the shaft but failed retreating back into the shaft.
“What was that about?” He asked.
“You didn’t see or hear that?” I replied.
“See or hear what? He asked in return.
“You must be blind and deaf, are you serious?” I said.
As we began trotting down the halls, I tried to make small talk.
“So Nurse, how many floors does this Hospital have?” I asked
She took a little to respond, “Well it has 3 floors, 2 Below and a basement… So 6 floors in total.”
Once passing the corridor leading to the main entrance I stopped just as I was about to turn around the corner “Stop!” I whispered.
I heard the noise of something eating and decided to peer around the corner to see that more then 10 blood thirsty murders were eating the remains of their dead victims.
I look around for another nearby way to get out of the hospital and I didn’t want to head back the way we came because by now it could be unsafe.
Looking around I saw that a dim light bulb that was flickering move gently back and forth, my eye twitched remembering the nightly even, I looked over to see that nearby on the wall was the light switches “My turn to be the darkness!” I whispered and turned off the lights.
The flesh eaters didn’t seem to care and continued to feast “Alrighty then follow my lead.” I whispered.
Before I could get to the entrance a Security Guard came running out of the dark from the other hall over “Finally a way out!” He said.
Before we could warn him of not knowing what lay ahead in the dark he slipped in the pool of blood and went sliding into the attackers and they immediately began pounding on him.
“YOU’RE GONNA NEED TO TRY HARDER THEN THAT FREAKS! ” he yelled
He fought back kicking and punching and tried to pull out his Revolver but it useless as an attacker smacked it away and grabbed both of his arms as another grabbed both of his legs and yanked until the sound of his spine cracking happened and he finally ripped in half, spilling his organs onto the floor with a gelatin like sound.
Nurse Red Heart watched in horror as we began to make it to the door during the distraction as it was the only chance we had, one of the flesh eaters sniffed the air and caught drift of things and got up from his meal and came towards my general direction however not trying to make noise so he could have a fresh meal all to itself.
I pulled out my knife ever so quietly and stabbed it right in the eye, it stood there in an up right position however dead and soon as the corpse began to fall I caught it and slowly laid it on the ground to avoid making any noise.
We finally reached the door and Nurse Red Heart whispered “Thank…”
She slid in the blood on the floor and fell to the ground, the killers of dark looked up to see that we were near the door, they got up and began to gallop towards us with devilish smiles hinting that we weren’t only meant to be eaten by them if not taste great and their only instinct in mind is Fresh Meat.
I helped up Nurse Red Heart and kicked the front door open knowing are cover was already blown, once outside and in day light we turned back and fired away as they began to charge out I wasted 12 rounds from my rifle (186 .30-06 rounds left).
The noise of gun shots attracts more of the attackers and larger amounts began to emerge from the hospital “More of your unhappy patients Nurse?!” I teased and looked over at Nurse Red Heart as she fired away from her small caliber pistol and reloaded her last clip.
“Very funny and I’m almost dry!” She said.
An undead Equestrian Army Soldier charged at me and immediately had the pleasure of meeting the butt of my rifle to the face “Rejected!” I yelled and continued to smash his head into the ground.
“Yea it’s not worth staying very long!” I said.
We began to fall back from the hospital knowing there were too many insane savages to handle alone, after a while of galloping and out of breathe we finally arrived to the library.
I began to bang on the door so that someone from the inside would open it, finally Applejack opened the door and hugged me but then let go almost immediately “Where in the hay have you been, we’re all worried sick about you!” She said and saw that I had company with me “I’m sorry to keep ya’ll waitin’ partners, come in!”
We all entered and Applejack shut the door behind us, everyone seemed to be starring me down.
“You’re back!” screamed Scootaloo as she ran over and hugged my leg.
I chuckled softly “I always try to keep my promises kiddo.” I hugged her back, “Alright, I’m sorry for me brief absence!” I said knowing that by looks of everyone they seemed pretty concerned.
“Where yah head off to?” asked Big Macintosh.
“I went to make sure a friend was ok.” I replied rather hastily knowing where this conversation might lead up to.
“That’s kind of you.” Fluttershy complemented.
“Mighty kind complement, thank you!” I complemented back to Fluttershy and tried to change the subject of the conversation, “So Twilight found an answer to this event?” I asked.
She shot me a glance and snapped back “Yeah, how about we don’t wonder off and get killed trying to play hero!” She said.
From her response I knew she didn’t understand my question.
Rainbow Dash stomped her hoof “Yeah aren’t you going to explain to us what happened and why you didn’t tell anyone you left?”
I returned the gaze “Look I’m sorry, I know I might have made the mistake and that I should have said somethin’ but I thought I would get back before y’all were awake and even if I did I didn’t want anyone getting hurt on my watch.” I said trying to stand my ground from being scolded at even more.
“Well darling you could have waited until we were all awake and you could have explained what you wanted to do.” Rarity said.
My eye twitched and I snapped “IS THAT IT THEN? ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO JUDGE ME ABOUT MY DECISION? GO AHEAD I’M RIGHT HERE COME AT ME! SERIOUSLY I’M ALL EARS! I DARE YAH TO NOT LIKE WE GOT SOMETHIN’BETTER THING TO DO!” I yelled with steam pouring out of my nose as I exhaled.
Everyone watched in surprise of my sudden choice of words, until Apple Jack broke the silence “Easy sugar cube! No one is against you, no one is blamin’ you for anything that you’ve done.” she said trying to defuse the situation.
“NO I WON’T STAND THIS!” I yelled, “I’LL GET MY OWN GUNS THEN AND FIND A CURE OF ALL DAMN BUCKIN’ ALIMENTS ON MY OWN!” I began to make it to the door frustrated as the next angered pony would have.
“Don’t leave Joco!” I heard a familiar say from behind, however the anger that lingered in my head caused me to shoot back a rather quick reply “Why huh? WHY IN THE HELL NOT? ‘CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE Y’ALL DON’T NEED ME!” I yelled.
“‘Cause we can’t afford to lose friends durin’ a time of need if we want to survive.” I looked rather baffled to see that the only one who was scolding me and seemed to be talking sense was Big Macintosh
“Well… Um… Um… Uh…” I quickly tried to think of anything that I could continue the argument with but nothing else seemed to pass through my mind, I sighed slowly calming down, “I’m sorry for blowin’ steam off on you guys, can you find it in yourselves to forgive me? I asked in a rather calm voice.
I saw everyone exchange glances to one another “We forgive you and we guess t it’s kinda our fault that we pushed you to the edge too much too quickly.” Applejack said.
Smiling I thanked them, “Twilight any information on what we’re dealin’ with?” I asked.
Twilight nodded “During your brief absence I found amongst several books that describe the characteristics of these crazed attackers as…” she breathed in, “The Undead.” She continued “However the details are sketchy and I have not found much on the subject.” She said.
“Well, I want to get my guns however now that I give it a second thought we should also take the rest of the firearms and melee weapons from the gunsmith.” I said.
Everyone stared at me as though I was suicidal that I wanted to head back further into town “What? I’m serious, we lack fire power… I mean we got good caliber weapons for Repeater Rifles, Revolvers, and Shotguns don’t get me wrong but we just need more faster like Semi-Automatic weapons!”
Most of the group nodded their head except Big Macintosh “I admire your idea Joco, I truly do but I got more trust with my guns that I know won’t jam.” He said.
I nodded in agreement “Western Front Weapons are great Big Macintosh but it just takes a little to reload each individual bullet into the chamber instead of using clip, because quick reload is something we need because to those murderous eatin’ cannibals won’t care where they get shot unless you blow their brains out! However there are exceptions to more experienced gunslingers such as ourselves that we make best use out of any weapon!” I said, “If you feel comfortable with your guns I won’t stop you from usin’ D’em, the semi-automatic weapons are intended for rapid success. Either way I’m still goin’ to my house to gather up the weapons.” I said.
I began to make it to the front door “Also you guys should think about findin’ the rest of the survivors, I think they’re still somewhere in the middle of town, town hall maybe?”I said.
Suddenly someone grabbed my shoulder “I’m going with you!” Mr. Cappuccino said.
“Alrighty then, let’s get goin’ then while the day is still young!” I said.
We began to move about the silent and lonely streets of Ponyville “Just last night there was so much commotion on the streets, now it’s eerie quiet.” I said as we trotted along noticing that the some buildings laid in ashes and ruins, and the bodies that littered the streets earlier last night that hadn’t been complete dismembered where now gone, just leaving slowly drying blood under the Celestia’s warm sun.
As we continued to trot, not a single word was said through the rest of the way hoping that the past conversation hadn’t attracted any listening murderers nearby, finally arriving to my house I noticed that the door was half way open “This can’t be good!” I said and took out my Bowie Knife ready to eliminate any intruders within my household quickly and silently, I checked each room and found the house nearly empty except for a few blood hoof prints and blood smears.
“Well who ever was here is long gone, might as well get started then!” I said as I removed the carpet to reveal the secret door to the basement.
Mr. Cappuccino’s eyes widen in surprise “That’s brilliant! I should have thought of that instead of having a simple regular door that led down to the basement in my house.” He said.
I chuckled as I opened the hatch going down the stairs and entered, I pulled on the curd to turn on the light.
“Alrighty then Cappuccino help me load this stuff up so we can get goin’ quickly before the undead catch drift of things.” I grabbed a decent amount of bits from my safe and went for my custom (19th Century Engraving) current issued Equestrian Army and Navy Firearms: .30-06 Winchester Model 1895, .351 Winchester Model 1907, .35 Remington Model 8, .45 ACP Colt New Service Revolver, .45 ACP Colt 1911, .12 gauge Winchester M1897, .12 gauge Browning Auto-5, .12 gauge Colt Double Barreled Shotgun, 6 mm Winchester Model Lee 1895, and .380 ACP Colt Pocket Hammerless 1908 into a wooden trunk.
Mr. Cappuccino gazed at all the firearms that were in the basement “I’ve never seen so many in one place that wasn’t a store…” He began bagging all the ammunition he could find into another trunk as well, I saw nearby on my gun rack a pair of .44 Mare’s Legs (Cut-Down version of a Winchester 1892) one having custom (19th Century Engravings) and the other wasn’t and put them both into the individual trunk.
He looked at me “Amongst your arsenal… I see you have some that are easy to conceal, do you or did you have a criminal lifestyle?”
I choked a smile “I don’t mind yah askin’ if yah don’t mind me tellin’ yah” I took a breath, “and have you ever seen me commit any crimes in Ponyville?” I asked.
“Well… Um… You got me with that one.” He said and stayed quiet as we continued to load up guns and ammunition.
I didn’t give the Mondragon Rifle (Along with an attachable scope/bi-pod) a second thought and put it in my personal trunk along with a few 20 round magazines and one 100 round drum magazine along with its corresponding rifle bandolier and ammo.
“Alright Mr. Cappuccino you’ll take the rest which consists mostly my custom Western Frontier guns and concealable weapons.” I said.
“Wait, wait, wait, why are all your guns like that, if you don’t mind me asking?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“You know, with engravings?” He said.
“I don’t mind you askin’ if yah don’t mind me not tellin’, so don’t worry about it.” I replied back and grabbed the trunk, “Alrighty then I think we got a good amount of guns and ammo, let’s get the hell out of here!”
As we left the basement packed heavier then mules, I returned the carpet into place to hide the door.
“Hold on, I’m forgettin’ somethin’.” I said as I entered the kitchen and looked underneath the table and grabbed a .45 Colt Peacekeeper (2” Length Barrel)
Mr. Cappuccino stared at me “Again nice hiding spot.” He said.
“Alrighty then, now we can head out.” I said as we went out of the house, I closed the door behind me and looked up at the sky to notice that it was well passed afternoon
“So where did we say we would meet up?” Mr. Cappuccino asked.
“Um, Town Hall?” I answered as we started our trip to Town Hall.
“For being a sight from hell, we haven’t been attacked yet and being after noon I wonder where they all the undead went?” Mr. Cappuccino asked.
“They’re probably in dark places of ill dispute waitin’ for night fall for the need to feed their endless hunger.” I said as lone black bird that flew above crowed and flew off into another direction.
“What do you think is causing all of this?” Mr. Cappuccino asked.
“Well I reckon it’s some sort of unicorn magic.” I said.
Upon our arrival to town hall we noticed a certain cyan Pegasus flying over head, as we returned our focus to main floor and immediately saw several ponies with melee weapons consisting of baseball bats, axes, and shovels.
“Look here comes more survivors!” one said, “Come right inside, every other pony who isn’t on guard outside is inside.”
Mr. Cappuccino and I starred at each other for a little before proceeding into town hall, upon entering we noticed that there where more survivors then what we had expected.
The mayor trotted up the stage and cleared her throat before speaking “Attention Mares and Gentle Stallions, if you’re here that means you have survived and are aware of what is happening.” She said and waited to get everyone’s un-divided attention “If there are a few that awoke this morning and are not aware what is happening then allow me to fill you in, that the undead have risen in Equestria.”
She paused as some of the ponies amongst the crowd gasped in horror, every pony identified them as the ones who where the lucky ones who slept through the night safely.
“For the moment town hall is the only stronghold we have been able to establish in our town so if you want venture out, venture at your own risk, and be prepared for night fall.” She said finishing her speech and walked off stage.
“Well, might as well start lookin’ around d’en.” I said and immediately began looking for Rainbow Dash and her friends, “There are so many survivors…”
“Hey look it’s Nurse Red Heart!” Mr. Cappuccino said as Nurse Red Heart turned in our direction.
“You guys made it!” She said as she came over and hugged us.
“Yah well it’s goin’ to take a lot more then an apocalypse to take me down, let alone a trip to my house!” I said, “So do you still have that puny gun of yours?”
She gave me a funny look “Maybe, why?”
I pulled out a .45 Colt Peacekeeper (2” Barrel Length) and gave it to her “I got this for you in mind so now you won’t need that “Puny” .25 ACP round.” I chuckled.
She smiled “Thank you, now I can officially “Cure” my ex-patients! Like you said, right?” She said.
We both laughed knowing that she was quoting me from the hospital “Hey Nurse, do you know where Rainbow Dash be at?” I asked.
“If I remember she’s on the third story of our beloved town hall.” She said.
“Thanks and I’ll catch you later.” I said.
“I bet you will hot shot!” She said and winked.
I chuckled as I trotted away “You’re one of the most interestin’ Nurses I’ve met to this date!
While crossing the groups of survivors I over heard conversations about Princess Luna is the one to blame for the undead, and that a train is going to leave the train station soon to Canterlot.
“You hear d’em rumors? They spread like wild fire even though they don’t know shit.” I said while Mr. Cappuccino and I walked up the stares we could see that everything seemed to be well secured for most of the downstairs windows are boarded up.
“Seems like a safe place.” Mr. Cappuccino said.
“Yah but for how long?” I asked as we arrived to the third story.
We immediately went outside to the balcony and looked around but there was no sign of Rainbow Dash. I leaned against the balcony ledge and looked down noticing the advantage that the balcony would be to hold against the hordes of the undead. I pulled out my binoculars and began to scan the area as the sun slowly began to set, “No activity yet” I said.
Mr. Cappuccino yawned and went the other side of the balcony armed with his own nickel plated Smith and Wesson Schofield III “It isn’t the same.”
I continued to look around and saw a train stationed at the train station “Maybe the rumors are true…”
Suddenly two magenta eyes appear on the binoculars “What are you looking at friend?” asked a mare in a familiar voice.
“Glad to see you too Rainbow Dash and now that you asked nicely I’ll tell that I was lookin’ for some sort of “Entertainment”!” I said as I started putting away my binoculars and seeing that she was still hovering in front of me.
“How did I not scare you and how did you know it was me?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“‘Cause you’re the one of the few Pegasus who seems to know me in Ponyville.” I said and smiled, “Two it would have been terrible if you were an undead Pegasus and able to fly… Well now that I mentioned it I haven’t seen an undead Pegasus so I don’t know if they fly or not.” I said.
Rainbow Dash blinked “You know, you’re actually right about that.”
“How so?” I asked
“Well we haven’t seen an undead Pegasus… or Unicorn for that matter, so we are not sure what they are capable of doing.” She said.
I smiled “Well if we ever do meet with such kind they’ll get a warm welcomin’ from me.” I took a breath, “Anyways you and all your friends ok? Any luck on raiding the gun smith for weapons and ammo?”
“Yeah we’re ok, our trip to the gun smith and to town hall was safe and about the guns they’re still being distributed but I don’t think everyone is going to get one.” She said.
“Good to hear that you guys made it safely…. Have you heard any news?” I asked.
“I heard that there will be no more reinforcements for Ponyville, because they’ve been called off to the cities because they’ve been hit hard.” Rainbow Dash said
“Well I kind of expected that one.” I said focusing that the sun disappeared into the horizon and darkness soon followed, “Might as well prepare ourselves for the night.”
I un-holstered my Springfield Rifle 1903 and ready in hoof.
Rainbow Dash landed on the balcony “Anyways your awesome... I mean how you saved Scootaloo.”
I hesitated for a second “I just did what was “justified” as the right thing, plus I couldn’t have just left a filly to die now.” I said as I leaned my back against the ledge now.
Applejack came up the stairs followed by her friends “Nurse told us you would be up here!” she said.
“Yah, that’s about right.” I said and greeted everyone as they came up, I saw Scootaloo and picked her up and held her above my head, “Hey Scootaloo, I got somethin’ you might like!”
She looked down at me “A new gun?” she asked.
“How did you know? I said and put her back down and pulled out the un-custom Mare’s Leg from the wooden box, “Just for you kiddo!”
She picked up the gun “Wow it’s small and light!” She aimed downwards at the ground, “Pew… Pew… Pew” she pulled the trigger firing the gun, “Didn’t know it was loaded!” She said as she tried to figure out how to load the next round into the chamber.
“You push lever forwards till it stops then put the lever back into place.” I said as I passed her box of ammunition.
“Thank you!” She said and then gave me back my Sawn-Off Shotgun with the bandolier and ammo that I had left her earlier,
“Too much recoil…” She said and went off to go play with Apple bloom and Sweetie Bell along with their guns.
“Nice kid, anyways do you guys plan on stayin’ here long?” I asked.
“Well it seems pretty safe where every pony is helping one another out, I mean seriously what would happen if no one wanted to help another one out then we would all starve and be eaten alive or we would just kill one another…” Pinkie Pie said before being cut short by inhaling air.
“But for how long can we keep it that way? What will happen when food and ammo run low, what then? Wait ‘til the army shows to bring us food and supplies?” I asked, “I don’t think they’ll come ‘til they cleanse their own problems in the cities first, and with that bein’ said I’m goin’ to go find answers to stop this madness.”
Everyone starred at me as though wanting to hear more of the plan before deciding if I was crazy or just suicidal, as though my last plan wasn’t suicidal enough.
“I heard that at the train station there will be a train leavin’ soon most likely and like many trains in Equestria one of its many stops is Canterlot, while there I’ll take a look at the library to find out what we’re really up against and if its related to magic arts or not then I’ll find out where it s originated and how to put a stop to it.” I took a breath, “If not die fightin’ ‘til the end, any pony up for it?” No one replied
“Really no one, no on again?” I sighed, “Alright I get it, I understand you all have something to loose, I completely understand.” I grabbed my trunk of guns, “Looks like we’re on our own once more Mr. Cappuccino…”
Mr. Cappuccino looked straight at me with wide eyes “W-wait what did I just sign up for?”
“To find a cure to end all of this.” I replied.
He thought it over rather quickly “I don’t have much to live for anyways.”
Rarity stared at me, “I’m sorry darling, I would love to go to Canterlot but the way things are it is far too risky.”
Pinkie Pie also began “I have to agree, I mean seriously have you seen how they eat their prey? It’s disgusting with the blo…”
She was cut short by Twilight Sparkle.
“I think Celestia knows best and that this event will be over with before you know it! She’ll probably send Royal Guards or the Equestrian Army to our aid soon enough!” She said.
“You might be right Twilight but the question again is how long will it take?” I finished the argument before she tried to say anything more, “Alrighty then I’ll leave ammo for you guys.” I lifted my gear, “It was a great pleasure meeting all of you, best of luck to yah and take care!” I said and began to give my personal goodbyes to everyone.
Mr. Cappuccino and I made our way downstairs and saw that many of the survivors were wide awake messing around or on guard, “Let’s grab a bite to eat before we go, I’m hungry.” I said.
We made it over to where some ponies put up shop for food “Four tortas please…” I paused, “I mean Sandwiches.”
“Coming right up sir.” Replied the merchant as he passed four sandwiches, “Where you from friend, no one around here use’s that word for sandwiches.”
“Does it matter?” I asked.
He stayed quiet and continued to stare at me as I passed Mr. Cappuccino two sandwiches, we ate quickly and made our way across town hall and arrived at the door.
“Ready?” I asked ironically.
