//-------------------------------------------------------// Space Station Equestria -by Specter Atomis- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Tele crystals and space fish //-------------------------------------------------------// Tele crystals and space fish Goon Station science wing, tele-science room 3:15 pm, station time For once, things were going good on the station. For one, NanoTransen had posted a team of emergency response security guards, to help keep the station from being overrun by hostile aliens and space carp. The geneticists were doing there job, and had come up with a schedule for all of the crew to get genetic backups, in case they all died. Scientists were making bombs, for "scientific" purposes. The roboticist had built over twenty or so robot bodies, in case someone wanted to be borged, and the rest of the crew was doing the job, but the one most interesting bit of the crew, was the scientist at tele science. Tele science was by far the favorite of every scientist. Although it was a bit hard to figure things out, when you got the hang of it, it was one of the best jobs on the station, and had some rather good pay. At the moment, the teleporter control was being maned by one of the faithful scientists, which has served NanoTransen since the first plasma research station was sent up, and that scientist was Sky Ridge, a rather good looking woman, especially compared how most of the crew looked, especially after the plasma leak just the day before. She had dark orange hair, and pale white skin, a lab coat with her initials, ID, and a picture of her parents back on earth, and also had a tatoo on her neck of the mythical creature, the hydra. Sky was also by far the most qualified, seeing as how she had the formula to determine the accuracy of the teleporter memorized by heart. The thing is, she had only found a few things this time around, having discovered everything she could, and having used likely every coordinate combination she could think of, and had reached the safe limit of the Z-levels NanoTransen had given the crew the option of exploring, all two hundred and fifty of them. The reason this limit was put, was due to the ever increasing differentiation as distance increased, making using the dam thing even harder and more difficult then it already was, and the fact that half the stuff she found was deadly, getting more deadly the farther she got, was not very encouraging. "Hey sky, you found anything yet?" She heard one of the other scientists say over the radio, on the secure science department frequency. From the sound of there voice, she could only guess that it was her closest friend on this station, Effie Jhonsen, the only scientist that manned xeno biology. " Well, aside from a dead space pig sent to the chef, one of the miners, and a weird artifact that i sent to art lab, not much." She said, leaning back in her chair, about ready to take a nap to pass the time until break. "Well, that explains were they got the artifact. Welp, i'm just going to keep feeding the slimes, bastards keep getting fed, but refuse to split!" She heard Effie say, followed by a click, as Effie's radio as turned off. Effie was one of those people that would sooner be gibbed then use technology willingly, so she would turn off her radio whenever possible, so she could focus on her slimes. After about three minuets of thinking, Sky checked her watch, it was three eight-teen."yeesh, why does time have to be so slow." she thought to herself, waiting for it to be three twenty, A.K.A. break time. To occupy her remaining two minuets, she decided to see if she could get something else from the coordinates where she found the dead space pig. After punching in the same coordinates, she hit the "receive" button on the tele science console. After waiting a few seconds, the teleporter flared to life, and after the swirls of energy died down, she saw what she got from space. It was a space carp. "SHIT" she thought, panicking. Space carp were very odd creatures, appearing as a normal carp, but purple, and is able to kill a man in a few seconds, due to its razor sharp teeth. The moment she saw it, she hit the emergency bulkhead button, which closed a bulkhead in the window that allowed her to see inside the teleporter room. The unique thing about space carp, was there ability to avoid the affects of gravity, allowing it to fly around the chamber like it was water. Even from the other side of the bulkhead, she could hear it banging on the window. After a minute of her trying to remember what the coordinates were for the nearest sun, she heard the thing she was eager to hear all day, the break announcement. She knew that the carp was not able to break the bulkhead, so she just decided to leave, and headed to the bar, deciding that the carp can wait, and that the bar was much more important. She began walking to the door, when she heard the sound of glass breaking."welp, i'm gunna have to fix that." she thought, as the door ahead of her opened, having scanned her ID. The hall out of tele science was rather short, and led into the main "square" of science, which was a square hallway that connected to each sector of science, she saw three other scientists, one being Effie, and two twins, Jon and Ron Jones, the two scientists who were assigned to toxins. The twins were both fairly light skinned, and had dark brown hair, with scruffy neck beards, and wore bio suits, in case of a plasma leak." Hey Ron and Jon!" Sky said, catching there attention. "Oh, hey sky!" They said at the same time, they had a habit of doing that. They all stopped at the exit to science to wait for the other six scientists, the chemist Jebedia Wilson , two virologists, Dianne Swansen and Steve Jackobsin, two people who man R&D, Stan Griffon and Hillary Xander(research and destruction, responsible for getting a higher knowledge of items by breaking them and looking at there insides), and the RD, research director, Clara Anderson." Hey, am i the only one who feels like were missing some people?" Clara said. Sky did a quick head count, and saw who was missing, the brothers that worked art lab, Paul and Bob Joesoef. Turning on her headset, she did a quick call to them." Paul, Bob, why aren't you by the exit?" She asked them over the channel. She waited for a bit, before one of them finally answered." Sorry sweet-cheeks, but were to busy trying to get this dam artifact to turn on to go to break, so you can go without us, just remember to bring back a bottle for us, ok?" She heard Bob say over the channel. Everybody chuckled when he said,"sweet-cheeks". At this point, it was pure fact that Bob had a thing for sky, but she always felt like throwing him out the nearest airlock when she saw him."Welp, more drinks for us then." she said to the others, opening the door for them. The hallways in the station were all the same thing, three meters wide, and go in a full circle around the station, connecting every part of the station together, and being even more linked by the maintinence tunnels that branch off of the main hall. The group of researchers all headed to the left from the entrance to science, to the north end of the station, were the bar, boxing ring, and pool were. As they were walking, they saw some of the rest of the crew going up the hall as well, such as some of the engineers, the quarter master, two doctors, and the whole mining team."Welp, the bartender is going to be busy." sky thought, as she did a quick guess as to how many drinks the bartender will need to make. In Art lab Paul and Bob were not kidding about being busy. The artifact they had was about as hard to get working as it gets, and they had used every tool in the lab up to there highest settings, and it still wouldn't work! "Dude, you know Sky doesn't like you back, right?" Paul asked his brother." Don't worry big bro, she wont be able to resist me for much longer." Bob said back, pulling a small plasma tank out of his backpack," You mind putting the artifact in the chamber while i go to toxins to fill this?" The artifact itself was rather odd. It stood a good one and a half meters, and one yard at its widest part. The design was rather dangerous, with the corners more sharp than a butchers knife made of obsidian. The Shape of the base was rather simple, nothing more than a circular base, going up in a slightly hourglass shape to the bottom, but the design changes quickly from there. About a foot above the base, the artifact's shape changes to that of a flower, with the widest part being from the end of the largest pedal to the end of the one parallel to it, and all the pedals even acted like pedals really would when touched, and felt the same, but were unbreakable. From the area the pedals connected, three prongs that looked like the stigma linked to the part they met, and extended directly diagonally, ending in spear tip like points, and giving off a hardly noticeable blue glow. from the area that the pedals and stigma linked, a small amount of the materiel that the artifact is made of rises up another foot, and starting a new pattern. The second pattern was like that of a tree, with three small branches sticking out, each with about five leaves, but it seamed to change each time. The branches themselves felt, rather then like wood, like a very smooth marble, and the leaves like silk. Where the branches met, the artifact had another little spire of the material it was made of, rose the final three feat of the artifact, which was topped with one final detail. The icing on the metaphorical cake was five, long, smooth tentacles, which just hung there lazily. The tentacles were about four feet, and were the thickest at the top of the artifact, and slithered down the artifact to the bottom pedals, which just were able to touch them. The problem with moving the artifact, was actually moving the damn thing. The artifact weighed about one-hundred pounds, and was rather hard to get a grip on without cutting your self. After a bit of struggling, he managed to get a good grip on two of the tentacles, and had managed to knock the bottom enough to get it to tip a bit, but kept it leaned towards the opposite direction of him enough to keep it from falling on him, which would be a disaster and a half. The whole of art lab was rather close together, which made things a lot quicker when it came to getting the damn thing to the heating chamber, a room built specially to burn things at very high temperatures. The room was not much to look at, just a ten by thirteen foot room with reinforced flooring and walls, able to vent the heat out into the void of space. After about ten minuets of dragging the damn thing and keeping it from crushing him, he finally got it into the center of the chamber, where the heat would be the highest. After he let go of it, letting it rest there, he walked out of the room, sealed the blast-doors, and waited for his brother to get back with the plasma. After a few more minutes of waiting, his brother came back, with an entire canister of plasma, fully loaded with the dangerous gas."The hell do you think your doing with an entire fucking canister!?" Bob looked at his brother with a sly grin,"Relax bro, they guys at toxins wont miss one canister, they have like, four left!" Paul just sighed, having given up long ago on keeping Bob out of trouble, mostly, and knew Bob would get blamed anyway. Dragging the canister over to a port sticking out of the ground, Bob connected the canister tightly to the port's hose, which began draining the plasma inside into the burning room, turning it a nice shade of purple inside. After a minute, the reader on the tank flashed empty, and the room had been filled to the brim with the lethal, highly flammable gas, ready to burn at the tip of a hat. Pressing a button near the window to inside the burning room, blast-doors in the windows, and looked through the camera inside the room via a hand-held viewer and the helmet cam that he "borrowed" from sky, and saw that the pressure in the room cracked the lens, meaning that this thing woudn't survive this little inferno. When the brothers were sure that everything was sealed and able to withstand the plasma fire,Paul pressed the exterior igniter, sending a single, small spark into the room with the room, and then things got hot, and much, MUCH brighter, however, the plasma wasnt the thing that was bright, in fact, the scans said it was getting colder! The bar Although breaks weren't a thing before this crew was stationed, it was agreed by all high ranking members of NanoTransen to add one to day-to-day life for the crew of all the stations, due to the effective decrease in the amount of explosions on the station when the crew got to have a forty-five minute break in there day, letting them chat, drink, and possibly inform security of any possible traitors. Now, it is very common knowledge that NanoTransen is rather evil, due to there ways of dealing with competitors in the plasma research market, and how this has led to rebellion, riots, and the destruction of many stations, with cover syndicate forces infiltrating the stations, killing off key members of the crew, stealing important objects, and destroying the station via large explosives and holes in the hull, killing anyone caught in the blast, or without a pressurized suit. Another common tactic was an assault by syndicate forces, tasked with the obtaining of a nuclear authentication disk, held by the captain of the station, and the detonation of a nuclear warhead, killing everything, and destroying the station. In most cases, breaks didn't help with that, however, it did help with the defeat of changelings, living creatures that resemble "The Thing", which consume the fluids of humans, and are able to transform into any human they have absorbed, taking there form in every way. It also helped with the killing of vampires, which were now a thing, and were deadly when they had stored enough blood, with the only hope being the station chaplain, and his holy water. Now, on the other hand, there were the damn wizards, who would take this time to spread their corruption around the station, and then kill everybody with a simple spell while they were drinking, or pesky Vox would steal things from the station while nobody was guarding them. On a lighter note, with the absence of any threat at the moment, everybody was happily drinking away, with the chaplain just drinking some iced tea, and everybody else drinking themselves into a stupor. Sky had the highest alcohol tolerance of anybody one the station, and was hardly a little woozy after drinking a singulo, the strongest drink the bartender knew how to make, and would make a regular person fall on there ass after a single sip! After a while, and a few more singulos for Sky, everybody felt like shit, and needed some lime-aid, known for naturally having anti-hol, a drug that removed the effects of alcohol, regardless of how drunk you were before drinking it, with a small delay before it works. However, before the lime-aid could be obtained, shit hit the fan, as it always does on these stations, and all of the lights went out, and everything electric that was hooked to the stations power-grid was as well. Although most of them were drunk beyond belief, the entire crew stood up, shocked at how quickly the station was switched off."emergency power systems engaged!" A voice said over the inter-comms, the voice being the stations AI, or Artificial intelligence, who had been saved several time by the crew from everything that could plague a station. When the emergency lights kicked in, a loud groaning sound could be heard echoing all throughout the station, like metal being stressed at high pressure."AI, where did the power go, and were is that sound coming from?" Sky asked over the comms."Power loss seemed to have begun at the artifact lab in the science wing, and the sound of stressed metal is coming from there as well. Those brothers were in charge of that part, weren't they?" Sky had moved to the door of the bar, and tried to pry it open, with it stuck due to power loss. "Yes HAL,Paul and Bob were in charge of artifact research when we left" Oh, did i forget to mention the AI's name is HAL? One of the miners went up to the jammed door and pulled a crowbar off of his belt, and pried open the door to the bar."Hey Sinclare, you and Jones mind checking science?" the miner said, tossing the crowbar to the security member, only for it to be caught by Effie. "Sorry, but shitcurity isn't given access to science for a reason." she said, taking out a fire extinguisher from her backpack. Shitcurity was a simple slang term, it meant security was being a piece of shit, like by breaking there own rules, and the name stuck after a while. Now, most sec members aren't shit, but the few that were ruined securities record as law bringers, and made them all seem like ass-holes, especially to Effie, who had been caught bringing slime extract to the chef, when it was just harmless grey extract, for the chef to get more monkey meat, and they took, spaced it, and said she was smuggling illegal chems! Of course, that member of sec was fired and sent off the station, but Effie has still held a grudge on all members of security for the incident. Grabbing sky, she dragged her along with her, down the hall to science, for her to check on her slimes, and for Sky to help in case they meet something hostile., but it wasn't who to be wary of, it was what. When they were half way there, huge force rocked the entire station, launching them to the wall on there right! When they hit the wall, they could hear the sound of stressed metal again, louder this time. Pushing themselves off the wall, they went from walking, to a full sprint, reaching the door to science in seconds. Effie hurried to pry open the first door in, followed by the second when the first was done, which gave in much easier then the first, which worried Effie a bit. The moment it opened, Effie rushed to xeno-biology, more worried about her slimes then anything else. Sky, on the other hand, rushed to artifact research, and got a crowbar from her bag, attempting to pry it open. When she had gotten it open a bit, she was hit by a blinding light, forcing her to look away. When she opened the door fully, the two brothers rushed out like they were being chased by death himself, with Bob grabbing Sky's hand, dragging her along."What the hell did you two idiots do now!" "No time to explain, just run!" Paul said, running past the door to xeno-biology, heading straight for the exit of the science wing, and dashing through faster then you could say "plasma leak"! He was quickly followed by Bob and Sky, as they all ran up the hall to the bar, but the artifact had other things in mind. A shockwave shook the station, nearly spliting the already stressed metal near the three scientists, tripping them, and the dark purple glow of tele-crystals came from the hallway they were just running up, all of them being held in the air, and pulled to the science wing, going straight to the door, passing through, and heading towards artifact lab! Now, tele-crystals were always a very valuable item, used by members of the syndicate to teleport things from there base to the station, using it to help achieve there goals. The other use of them, was upgrades for miners, who would always create drill rigs and put them on high-density astroids for them to mine the resources from, with an upgrade being the ability to teleport the minerals right to a mining equipment fabricator. The final common use, was for things like the teleporter in science, and the standard teleporter and hand-held teleporter held by the captain, which could only beam you to parts of the station. Quickly getting up, the three scientists began running again, only to be struck down again by another shockwave, this one more violent then the last, and a the scientists collapsed again, but were unable to get up, with the entire station feeling a constant shaking force, rocking everything on it. Soon, a bright light emited from the doors to the science wing, followed by it spreading all over the walls, and soon, traveling down the halls, With the scientists being engulfed before they could do anything, and the rest of the station followed soon after, with the light catching everything, before collapsing in on itself- dragging the station with it, and creating a massive permanent portal, leading to the destination of the station and its whole crew. Ponyville library Midnight Princess Twilight Sparkle and all of her friends were enjoying some time together, resting on the balcony that the library had, and seeing who could find the most constellations. Although twilight had the advantage, pinkie had beaten her to most, and it was a tie between them, followed by rarity, then Rainbow Dash (who was bored as a plank of wood), Applejack, and in last, Fluttershy, who was to shy to call out the constellations before the others did, but she was just happy to be with her friends, even if she was losing. Everypony had called just about every visible constellation, so to spice things up, Twilight had decided that they would try to name the stars, and the competition began to pick-up again, as they all began naming all the stars they could remember, and laughing when someone said it far from correctly, like Rainbow Dash did most of the time, but this is a story about a space station that is normally full of homicidal maniacs DNA stealing aliens and crazy magic wizards hell-bent of seeing it become a smoldering fucking wreck so lets just skip to the part where the station appears, okay? Okay. In the skies above them, between two constellations, a distinct bright light had appeared, seemingly closer then the rest of them, which everypony had looked to see, rather then continue to name stars."Twi, since when was there a star there?" Applejack asked Twilight. Getting up, twilight lifted a telescope she had up on the balcony, putting it against her right eye, and aimed it at the mew light in the sky. For a moment, the light remained the same, some-what convincing Twilight that it was a star,"i don't know, it wasn't on any of my star charts last time i che- wait, hold on a second here." using her magic, she amplified the power of her telescope, looking closely at the unknown star in the sky. Upon looking at the odd light, she was rather sure it was far to close to be that big, but from the way that light came from it, it looked almost as close as the moon, perhaps closer, and the center of it seemed too dark to be any type of known star. after a bit of observation, she was about to set her telescope aside, when she noticed the light change, going from a nice shade of light yellow, to a bright blue color. At this point, everypony was just a little bit suspicious, having just seen what they thought was a star change colors, but the colors where not they biggest surprise yet, oh that was just the first of three surprises, with the second one being the most shocking to them. Meir seconds after the light changed colors, the light suddenly compressed into itself, which already was shocking enough, but with the force of a nuclear bomb, it exploded into an enormous plume of light, shooting out a ring of blue light, and sending a shock-wave into the upper atmosphere, but it wasn't stopping there, it was to full of energy to simply dissipate all of the energy in the upper reaches, it was heading down like hell was on its heels! Everypony could see the shaking of the air, coming down as fast possible, hitting the highest clouds in view, and hitting the ground before they could even cover there eyes. The shock-wave had spread across all of central Equestria, hitting it with winds traveling at-least one-hundred miles an hour, and sent anything not bolted down flying, including the 6 that were on an the exposed balcony. Caught completely off guard, they were launched off the balcony, and sent flying through the air, with the hay roofs of houses all over Ponyville being ripped off and torn to shreds, sending hay everywhere, and exposing whatever was underneath them. having finally processed what was going on, Twilight used her magic adn caught all of her friends, putting them all back on the balcony, and putting a magic bubble around them, protecting them from the harsh wind. For another three minutes, the wind was racing to the ground, creating chaos that would make discord proud, before the winds finally began to slow, until they were just a gentile breeze, which was a rather big improvement, all things considered. When the winds were calm enough, twilight used her magic to pull the telescope from where it was buried, under a pile of leaves from her library. Putting the telescope to her eye, she amplified it with magic again, looking to where the light in the sky was, only for it to have disappeared, and for something else to have taken its place. In the place of the light in the sky, a large, hulking structure had appeared, shaped somewhat roundly, but hard to fully make out against the dark background of space. setting her telescope aside, she ran inside, to spike, who had been making sure the books were organized while they were star-gazing. "Bringing a parchment and a quill to her with magic, she quickly wrote down a letter, and floated it to spike, who was still getting his senses back after the explosion. Knowing what to do, he grabbed the parchment, took a deep breath, and blew his magical fire onto it, turning it to ash, which made its way to open balcony door, and headed to Canterlot, where Celestia had problems of her own to deal with, in the now panicking city. Author's Note Just to let everybody know, i used a combination of goon and bay station 12 code items and location ands will use things from both, so prepare for hell Also, if you haven't played space station 13 before, i highly recommend playing it. Its a lot of fun when you learn how to play it, also, I am basing the layout of the station on a combination of Gibbed and liberty station, and will eventually put a map in a later chapter
