A lost souls second chance

The fall quickly faded to winter then thawed into spring. All the winter months Storm, Nightmare, and Luna would spend their free evening's lounging in their bedroom before a cheery fire. But as it was spring all three princesses were needed to oversee the preparations for the up coming Grand Galloping Gala. So Storm had much of his time to himself and it was with this free time he came up with a plan to make this gala one never to be forgotten. So when all three princesses were away three days before the gala Storm took a flight to ponyville their were many ponies he needed to talk to. First off Storm would need a suite so first stop carousel boutique. Then next would be the music which meant finding vinyl scratch and Octavia. Next would be a spell to ensure Storm was heard above the din of the gala so next was twilight. Then was the finisher, the cherry on top of it all and only equestria's greatest flyer could fit that bill. The first two days were devoted entirely to planning and practicing almost non stop through all hours of the day and night. Thankfully Storm foresaw this and left a note for Nightmare and Luna saying he was visiting ponyville and getting them a surprise. Without worry of their activity's being discovered by the two lucky mares the groups could practice in peace. The day of the gala Storm left another message for Nightmare and Luna simply saying. "Meet me in the gardens when the moon shines its brightest to see what I have in store." This message confused the two but only fueled their desire to discover what storm had in store.

Later that evening the gala had been in full swing for a few hours, the moon had reached its zenith. And their was still no sign of storm which confused and irked both princesses. At that very moment as if on queue the orchestra stopped playing and silence fell across the crowd as Octavia approached the mic at the front of the stage and said.

"Ladies and gentle colts this next piece was requested for a very special reason. And upon hearing it myself and the entirety of the canterlot orchestra decided to play this piece, but we will need some help from some very special ponies." When she said this Octavia backed away from the mic to reveal a large figure standing in the shadows of the stage. Who quickly mounted the stairs and revealed itself to be Storm as he stood before the mic. He was dressed in a blue tux and dress pants with his undershirt being a slight shade lighter than his tux. Mimicking the colors of his scales with his best dashing smile on his face. Upon seeing him both Nightmares and Luna's breath hitched in their throat as Storms gaze came to rest on them his eyes sparkling like diamond's.

"Ladies and gentle colts of the orchestra, Octavia and many many others I thank you for this opportunity." Storm said his gaze never leaving Luna or Nightmare. "I have asked these esteemed musicians to play a piece from my home as part of a surprise I have planned for two very special mares. One Princess Luna and one Princess Nightmare Moon are those mares and I would be delighted to have them grace me with their presence on stage." And again as if on que all the ponies in front of Luna and Nightmare moved aside creating a clear path to the stage. Too confused and surprised to do much else both began the walk to the stage to pass a teary eyed Rarity, a grinning Rainbow Dash, And Twilight with horn aglow. Then as the two came to stand before Storm the mic vanished in a puff of smoke and Storm glowed purple for a instant. Then he gave a nod almost completely indiscernible and the lights illuminating the gardens all faded until only the lights on stage were left. Next he got down one knee and began to dig in his pocket earning a delighted gasp from both the mares before him when he pulled out two boxes with their separate cutie marks on them and then said.

"Luna, Nightmare would you do me the honors of making me the happiest creature in all of existence by marrying me?"

Both Luna and Nightmare were stunned and couldn't speak their mouths moving unable to form words their gaze flickering between each other, the rings and Storm. Then both girls looked at the other and then smiled and turned to Storm but before they could give their Storm stopped them and said.

"Now before you give me you answer girls I want to tell you why it is I want to marry you." with that Storm again gave a slight nod to some unseen pony and then the orchestra came to life playing music so soft and powerful it seemed to pull all the ponies towards the stage in anticipation of what would happen next. Then as it reached a peak Storm stood and took a few steps back drew in a deep breath and began to sing with the music. His voice strong and floating along with the notes coming from the orchestra.

As he sang Storms voiced easily carried across the gathered ponies thanks to twilight's spell. For the rest of his song Storm focused entirely on Luna and Nightmare just letting everything and Everypony else just fade away as if they were never there. Then just as the song was reaching its end Rainbow Dash shot from the crowd into the night sky to come back down and create a sonic-rainboom, but this wasn't just any rainboom Rainbow made this one in the shape of a heart in the night sky with Storm in its center on the stage.

"So girls what ya say?" Storm said extending his hand out to them and waited patiently a warm smile on his face.

"I don't know what to say Storm th...that was"

"Ya say yes ya silly foul" a voice cried out from the crowd earning a good laugh from storm as he held out his hand and waited. Only to be almost knocked over by Luna as she ran up to him crying saying " yes yes yes" over and over. Getting Storm to return the hug with fervor only to look at Nightmare quizzically before she two tackled him succeeding in knocking him onto his back earning a thunderous round of laughter and applause. That quickly fell silent when a set of hoof beets could be hear on the stage accompanied by a familiar voice saying.

"And just when were you planning on telling me about this little development Storm" as Celestia herself walked across the stage to look down on Storm with mock anger. Only burst into giggles and pull them all into a hug and say

"So tell me when Is the wedding?"
