The Beginning Of A New Life
It has been 3 days since I have been reunited with pops and my friends. It seems as if heaven is exactly like Ponyville, only more... peaceful. if that's even possible. Me and pops have 20 years to make up for. I can only hope that he's as excited to see me as I am to him. I still remember the day he died, it's as if that memory has been permanently etched into my memory. I don't like to think about it, in fact, I never did. But now there's no reason to. Because now we are together, a family, again. Hopefully forever this time. I don't know what I would do if he was somehow taken from me again.
I think Dashie is worried about something, I keep asking her what's wrong but she always says that everything is OK.
But I know my daughter, there's something on her mind thats bugging her. I will keep trying to find out what it is, But I don't think she will ever tell me.
Today was an... interesting day, to say the least, due to the clouds moving on their own, much like they do back on Earth, I seem to have alot of down-time.
Mind you this is usually spent hanging out with my friends, or going into town with dad. But today I sat on pops' lap in my favorite recliner, watching TV,NASCAR,
to be exact. About half way through the race I looked up at dad. "dad?" He looked at me with a grin.
"ya? what is it Dashie?"
I sat there for a few seconds,twiddling my hooves, trying to think of how to say what i'm thinking. "are... are we going to be together forever this time?"
his face fills with worry, evicting the smile that residented there just moments ago.
"Of course we are, this is what's supposed to be. Why?"
I looked down towards the ground. That's the answer I expected,expected, but not wanted. I looked into his deep,blue eyes.
"Because we have been separated twice now and..." I stop mid sentence as I feel a tear roll down my face, I don't care.
"and those 20 years after you died were the worst years of my life." he looked at me. " I know Dashie, but I was with you the whole time." he ends the sentence with
a warm grin."I know... it's just that I don't know what i would do if it happened again." he hugs me as if he believes it will make me forget the subject.
it doesn't work. he realizes this and continues. " I know what you mean, when Twilight and the other ponies showed up and took you away..."
he stops to wipe a tear from his face.
" I was so depressed that I considered suicide." he puts his face between his hands and starts crying. I jumped off him and onto the soft carpet. My eyes now filled with tears that flow
like rivers and my face filled with both fear and worry. "NO!" I scream. "Tell me you didn't actually think about that!"
he looks at me his eyes now red from the tears. "It's OK, I considered it but I would never actually do it. I knew that that isn't what you would want."
I looked at him, my tears still covering my cheeks like a blanket. "r...really?" i asked. "of course, I would never put you through something like that.
you have experienced me dying once and i wouldn't want to put you through that pain again."
I jumped back up onto his lap and gave him what felt like the longest hug a pony has ever given ever.
He seems surprised but returned the hug. "don't ever ever scare me like that ever again." I whispered. Even though
I can't see him, I can sense that hes smiling. "don't worry, I wont, I promise." I smile as the worry and fear retreat from my emotions.
After about 5 minutes of us hugging and smiling. I let go and said "OK that's enough." he seemed worried at first but that emotion is quickly
replace with another smile. He chuckled as if he was remembering a funny joke from his childhood. "That's my Dashie." we both chuckled.
At that moment I remembered something, the perfect thing to say in this very situation.
So without thinking I say: "Yup. I'm your daughter always, your little dashie forever." He was blown away by this. "Wow,
you still remember the note that you wrote before you returned to Ponyville." "Of course I do. That note is what brought you back to equestria with me." At that very moment
I could hear something behind me. I turned around,scared as to what I would see. But when i saw it I was relieved.
It was just the TV. I then remembered we were watching the Daytona 500. It took me only a second to realize why there was cheering coming from the crowd.
but when I did, boy was I excited. My favorite racer,Jimmie Johnson, won the race. I shot up into the air like a rocket.
Screaming and hollering. Ha, apparently I screamed so loud, that the neighbors heard. They galloped over faster than a race pony and flew open the door.
Their faces were filled with fear and worry.
"Are you guys OK? we heard Rainbow Dash screaming so we came over as fast as we could."
It took me and dad a little bit, about 2-3 seconds, to realize why they were so worried. When we found out dad started bursting into laughter. I fell to the floor onto my back and laughed so hard my throat
went dry and I started coughing. I stood up,dad still in a fit of laughter so hard he was crying, and explained to them what happened. They just shook their heads,chuckled, and trotted off.
When they left. me and dad burst into EVEN more laughter. I don't think i have ever heard dad laugh this loud and, for that matter, this long.
Overall, today was a nice relaxing,not to mention hilarious, kind of day. Just me and pops.
Today me and dashie went to my parents house.
Dashie seems to like my parents. Even though she never really spent enough time with them to really
get to know them.
Just as we were about to knock on the door, I looked and pointed my finger at her. "Before we knock, you have to promise to be on your best behavior. OK?" She just looked at me with a sarcastic look. She rolled her eyes and simply said: "Come on,dad, I may look like a filly here in heaven,
but i'm still your big girl. I think I know how to behave appropriately." I knew she was telling the truth. She would behave, I just wanted to be sure.
I chuckled, ruffled up her mane and knock on the door. "Daaaaaad." She said. "Now I have to fix my mane all over again." We both chuckled. Just then the door opened up to my moms warm, inviting smile.
I couldn't help but return a smile as me and Dashie both give her a hug.
Just then my dad walks up behind my mom and gently pushes her out of the way.
Me and Dashie hug him as well. He seemed surprised at our sudden hug-fest but he returned the hug to me, and to Dashie.
I smiled, I knew my parents would love dashie, but I wasn't expecting this much love this quickly. he let go of Dashie and invited us in.
My mom offered me and dad a tea and grabbed Dashie a soda. She said thanks. And smiled.
She then turned to me and mouths the words: "see? I told you I would behave,dad." She ended the sentence with a big grin. I return it.
We sat at the kitchen table,oddly enough, it's the EXACT same one that they had when I was a kid. I sat there for a little bit letting the memories come back to me.
We were there for a few hours. They asked a lot of questions, mostly about Dashie, they were so interested in her. I let her answer most of the questions, seeing as
this was as much for her as it was for me. Although, I had to answer some of them. such as
"Where and when did I find dashie?" and "how did you get from earth to Equestria?" That last one brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the crushing depression and sadness after Dashie left. They immediately apologized. But I just said "it's fine. At least we are together forever now, right Dashie?" I looked at her and noticed she was having trouble holding and even drinking her soda. My parents got her a straw right away. She,once again,said thanks, took a sip, and looked at me. "Right, pops." we both smiled at each other.
We were there until midnight. As we said our goodbyes, Dashie asked me to carry her, as she was to tired.
I happily agreed, as she hasn't asked me to do this in so many years. About half way home she managed to fall asleep. I just smiled as I opened the door. I wanted to savor the moment. So I lied down on the couch, let out a deep sigh, and looked at Dashie. Who was now curled up,asleep, right smack dab in the middle of my chest. I love moments like this. Moments where she acted like a filly, just for me. It was nice and quiet. I fell asleep shortly after.
I joined dad in his dream, he was a pony with short rainbow colored mane and tail. And grey feathers he looked stunning. This was the first dream in years that didn't involve the darkness that killed dad so long ago. No. This was a nice, peaceful dream of just us flying through a rich green forest.

Last night was the best sleep I have had in years. I don't know if it was because of Dashie sleeping on my chest or what. I woke up at around 10am to a sudden loud crashing sound. I sprang up from the couch,making sure Dashie wasn't on my chest first. I ran into the kitchen. My mind filled with thoughts of the worst possible things. I was relieved when I saw Dashie sitting on the kitchen floor with pots and pans sitting all around her. She even had a pan sitting on her head as if she was pretending to be a knight. I chuckled at the thought. She heard me and looked at me,dissapointed.
"Awww dad, you ruined the surprise. I was going to make you breakfast." I chuckled.
"Dashie you don't have to do that." I said as I helped her up and removed the pot from her head. "I know I don't HAVE to, but I WANT to. last night was the best sleep I have had in years." we smiled in unison. After we were finished cleaning up the mess, we went to the living room. She sat in her recliner. I know its technically my dads but she loves it so much that I call it hers. I sat down on the love seat. She grabbed the TV remote and turned it onto YTV.
sponge bob was on.
It had stopped a long time ago, about 6 years after I came to Equestria. But they repeated. Dashie didn't care. She still watched the same episodes over and over again. Her ears perked up as she heard sponge bob. "You like krabby patties, don't you Squidward?" the face sponge bob made always makes her laugh. "Dashie?"
"Yeah, dad?" she asked, eyes still glued to the TV. "I'm going to go into town for a few hours to get some more groceries." I lied, I really had to go meet Pinky Pie to make last minute preparations for Dashie's birthday party.
"OK dad." she said. I grabbed my jacket and put on my shoes and left. Just as I closed the door I ran as fast as I could. I haven't been able to do this in a while because of my old age but in heaven, you somehow get reverted in age.I had to stop down the street from Sugar Cube Corner to catch my breath. I could see Pinkie skipping on the spot,waiting. I could tell she was getting impatient. She saw me. "Hi Bryan!" She yelled from down the street.
"Wow she has good vision for someone who mainly eats cake and other treats." I thought to myself. "Hey!" I said, waving. She ran over to me, she's really fast when she's impatient. She ran up behind me and pushed me to the front door. "Umm thanks?" I said, unsure of what to say. "Come on Bryan, we only have a few hours to make her cake and do everything else." I noded. "OK then" i clap my hands together."lets do this" "YAYYY!" she screams,
almost into my ear.it was louder than someone having their bones slowly taken out while being burned alive. now i get angry. "pinkie! that was right in my ear!"
as i yell, her hair deflates and her ears flop as she looked at her hooves. i can see some tears. now i feel bad for yelling. i forgot that its not hard to hurt pinkie's feeling. i sigh. "I'm sorry pinkie, its just that... i'm tired." i lied, not wanting to hurt her feelings any more than i already have. "I understand that you're excited. so am i. it's just that you need to learn how to keep your voice down. OK?" she looks up and her hair re-inflate and her ears go erect again. "OK." she says as she sniffles but smiles at the same time.
"pinkie promise?" i say, smiling. her smile gets even bigger. "cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." we say in unison, all the while doing the actions that go along with the promise. we finish the cake a lot quicker than i expected. i head to the other ponies to make sure everything else was ready. applejack was in charge of the food,
rarity the attire,Fluttershy on the petting zoo, twilight on the special surprise, and finally, vinyl scratch.
i don't really talk to her but shes great with music and great friends with dashie. so i allowed her to do the music. everything is ready but 3 pm. now to just get dashie out of the house. and i know the perfect plan.
i get home and open the door. "it's not just a boulder, it's a rock." i hear sponge bob explain. i chuckle, this is Dashie's favorite episode. i look down at dashie. who's asleep in front of the TV. i nudge her with my foot. "dashie?" i say almost in a whisper. "daaaaashieee?" she wakes up and rubs her eyes with her foreleg. trying to wake herself up.
she looks at me. "hey pops. what's up?" "nothing dashie." "where are the groceries dad?" damn! i knew i forgot something. i had to think fast. "the store was closed." turns her head to the left. "oh." i think she believed it. "then where were you?" shit. i think she knows. i have to act fast. "i was at Sweet Apple Acres. i met Apple Jack on the way. she said it was closed and that she needed help building a new farm."
she returned her head back to normal. "oh OK." she believed me. "listen dashie, i need you to do something for me." "umm sure, what is it?" " i need you to go into town to get some..." damn it. what to say what to say? "some quails." "umm OK but why didn't you get some on the way back?" without thinking i say: ""i forgot to." she smiles. "OK sure." she says, i can hear that she's very eager. i hand her some bits.
just enough to grab a hoofful. "be back in 20 minutes." she says as she opens the door. "OK love you." i say. "love you too,pops." she closes the door. i watch out the window waiting for her to leave. as soon as she was out of sight i let the other ponies in through the back door. "OK we only have 20 minutes to get ready." "Apple Jack, do you have the food?" "of course I do sugar cube." she replies, holding up nearly a buffet of treats. she moves over to the kitchen table. and places it there.
"flutter shy, do you have the animals ready?" "their out back. are you sure they will be OK?" she asked, clearly getting more use to talking to me, i know this because she isn't whispering as much as she used to. "yes i'm sure." i say, putting my hand on her shoulder. " i promise." she nodded."vinyl, do you have the DJ booth ready?" "why of course i do." "OK good." "rarity, did you finish the clothing?" "i almost didn't finish them but i did it." she hands us all a dress and a tux to me. she has gotten alot better at making clothes for me. we all put them on right away. "twilight, do you have the thing?" i said, winking.
"yes it took alot of energy but it was worth it."
"good." and lastly i directed my attention to pinky. "pinky do you have the cake and decorations?" she pulls out her party canon and shoots it. it decorates the whole lower level of the house in less than 2 seconds. "and here's the cake!" she says excitedly, holding out the cake. "OK put it over there by the buffet." i say the last word sarcastically
" okey dokey lokey." i chuckle, that catchphrase always made me laugh. "OK dashie should be here in about.." i check my watch and my eyes widen. "5 minutes!?" i made it into both a question and a statement. "every pony, hide!" they run off to hide. i walk over, close the door and shut off the lights and hide. i soon hear hoof steps getting closer. the door swings open. "dad?" she asks. "dad are you home?"
she closes the door and turns the light. we all jump out. "surprise!!!" we all scream in unison. well almost all of us. "surprise!" says pinkie. she looks around and then to the floor. "dang it." we all laugh then i remembered the episode where she did the same thing. that only makes me laugh harder.
"wow dad, i thought that you might have forgot about my birthday." "why in the world would he do that?" asks rarity as she trots over to Dashie's side and puts her arm,or is it leg? i still need to learn the pony lingo, around the back of her neck. "what kind of father would i be if i forgot my one and only daughter's birthday?" she smiles. "well you DO have a point there." we all laugh. "wow is that the cake?" she asked,pointing towards the cake that me and pinky worked so hard on. "yes me and Bryan made it. all by ourselves." pinky says."wow thanks dad." she hugs me and i return the hug.
later on it was time to give out the presents. Rarity gave her a beautiful dress,Fluttershy gave her a bunch of gorgeous wild flowers,pinkie gave her some balloons,applejack have her some apple tree seeds for her garden in the back.and twilight and i gave her the box, it was the same one i gave her for her last birthday in equestria. she recognized it almost instantly. she screamed in excitement. even though she had it in equestria,it was never brought here.
"i had twilight go back to equestria to retrieve it."she jumped in joy and hugged me and twilight i then nodded to vinyl who then played some music. we then went out to the back to the petting zoo that FlutterShy had set up only hours ago. time passed quickly and i soon found myself going to sleep.

the next day i woke up to a knock on the door. i lazily got up and stepped over Dashie. "Hello, is anyone home?" as soon as i heard him say anyone i knew exactly who it was. "great, this is the last pony i want to talk to right now." i said, under my breath. i opened the door and as i had suspected, standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his mouth, was Forest.
"Oh hi mr.dash. Is Rainbow Dash home?" he asked. at first it was hard to understand, but i figured it out quick. "yeah but she's sleeping." i said with a fake sense of happiness in my voice. he didn't seem to notice. "oh OK i'll just come back later." he said. as soon as the words left his mouth i heard a yawning behind me. "dad, who's at the door?" dammit, i was so close to getting rid of him." i thought to myself. i didn't say anything. instead, i just turned around and moved out of the way of the door.
"ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh." she rushed over to the door and gave him a hug. aggravated i asked:"so,Forest, why are you here?"she lets go of him to let him answer. "well i just wanted to ask dashie something." he looked towards her. "yeah,what is it?" she asked. i could hear the eagerness in her voice."well...umm.. i wanted to know if umm.." he stops as if he's trying to think of what to say. "if you wanted to go out sometime?" she nearly faints as the words leave his mouth. i run over and grab her. trying to stop her from falling. "it's alright dad, i'm fine." i let go and she stands up.
she tries to keep her cool. "um OK sure whatever." she tried to act as if she didn't really care but i knew she was acting. "OK so i'll pick you up later than?" "sure." he leaves and closes the door behind him. she screams like a teenage girl would if she had met Justin Beiber or whatever it is they listing too back on earth. she quickly darts up the stairs to her room, most likely to get ready. i just stood there,dumbfounded, i cant believe this is really happening. there's a knock on the door a few hours later. before i could get off the couch i hear dashie yell from her room "i got it!" before i could blink she's at the door. she opens it and leaves with Forest. "i'll be back in a few hours. don't wait up." i yell back "OK love you!" "love you too pops." and just like that,they were gone.
i get up and close the door. i sigh. guess i have a few hours to kill. just then i remembered that there were leftovers from last night's party in the fridge. i walk into the kitchen and open the fridge. i pull out the half eaten cake,cut a piece off, put it back in the fridge and sit back down into the couch.
"well, i guess i'll watch some television until she gets back."i eventually get tired,probably from me going to bed late and getting up early to answer the door. i soon find myself slipping in and out of sleep. i give up trying to stay awake and just go to sleep. i wake up a few hours later to the sound of the door closing. i check my watch, its about 8 pm. i grunt,not wanting to get up. "oh dad, you're awake." i look over to dashie. "yes i am." there was an awkward silence for a few moments. "so, how was the date." i clench my teeth as the last words escape my mouth. her ears perk up. "oh it was great. we went to Sugar Cube Corners and had dinner.
i like forest.he's kind and funny and smart." "not to mention suspicious." i think to myself. "really" i ask adding a false sense of excitement into my voice. "ya, we're going out again tomorrow." the moment she said that i could fell my heart nearly stop completely. "well, goodnight dad." dashie says. "goodnight Hun." she looked at me weird. that was the first time i ever called her Hun. she stared at me for a minute or two. "OK love you." "love you too dashie." she smiled and went upstairs. when i heard her door close i sighed. "i don't like him." i said in a whisper as to not let dashie hear me. then i remembered how dashie said that she liked him. "oh god.." i stopped. "wow that was the first time i said that in over 25 years" then the thought crept back into my mind. "what if they get... married?" i cringed at the thought. but if it makes my dashie happy, i guess i could come to like him.
i mean come on, i eventually got used to pinkies constant talking, and got Fluttershy to stop whispering at me all the time. i stopped thinking about it and went to bed.

i woke up at around 9 am. dashie was already up and was watching NASCAR. "and the winner is... JIMMIE JOHNSON!!" "YES!!! AWE YEAH!" dashie was on her recliner. "dashie, could you please be quiet?" she looks over to me. "oh sorry dad." she says quietly. "did i wake you up?" i just shake my head. "it's just that i kind of have a headache." she looks at me disapprovingly."were you drinking last night?"
"no i just have a headache." "OK sorry again." she grabs the remote from her lap and turns down the volume on the TV. "is that better?" "yes, thank you." "no problem pops." i end up falling back asleep. i wake up about two hours later. my headache is gone now. "dashie?" i yell.
because she wasn't in her recliner anymore and the tv was turned off. "ya dad?" i hear her respond from her room. "when is your date with forest?" she doesn't respond for a while. "umm right now." i feel a worried expression come across my face. "then why are you still here? why aren't you with Forest?" "i'm here mr.dash." as soon as i hear that voice i feel anger take over. "what are you guys doing in there?!"
"nothing dad. we're just on YouTube." dashie explains. her voice sounds sincere but i cant help but not believe her. i get up and walk carefully up the stairs. "i'm coming up!" i yell up the corridor. "dad there's no need to do that." dashie says. but i still want to be sure. i open her door to see dashie lying down on her back on her bed. she has her laptop on her chest. and Forest is laying beside her.
"daaad i told you there's no need to come in here." i feel relief wash over me as i realize she was telling the truth. "hello mr.dash." says forest with a smile. "hi Forest." i put on a fake smile. i turn my attention back to dashie. " i know hunny i just wanted to see if you were telling the truth or not." "OK well,as you can see, i was telling the truth." i nod and turn around to leave. "bye mr.dash." Forest says from behind me. "bye forest." i say as i close the door. i walk back down the stairs. as i reach the couch i wipe my forehead. "phew." i said to myself. i sat back down onto the couch and turn on the TV.
it goes to the most recently watched channel,YTV, i sat there and watched sponge bob for a few hours until i heard Dashie's bedroom door open and close. "bye Rainbow Dash." i hear forest say. "bye forest." as he walks down the stairs he looks at me."goodbye mr.dash" i didn't notice him until he said that. "oh, bye." i said. he continues to the door and leaves. finally, hes gone.
"dad?" i hear dashie say from her room. "yeah?" i ask not expecting what is to come."ummm..." i hear her fiddling around with her soccer trophies. "would you be mad if i...married forest?" i felt my heart skip a beat.
"I think you know the answer to that." there was no response for a while. "i don't know the answer though." i knew she was lying but i humored her anyway. "don't you think it's a little too early to think about that?" again, no response. "i guess you're right."
i could hear the depression in her voice. i know she loves him and.. and here i am holding her back. "why don't you come down here and sit with me?" "why?" dashie asked. "because sponge bob is on." "OK let me just shut off my computer." i could hear the excitement take over in her voice. within a few seconds she was sitting beside me. "awww I've seen this episode." she said. i chuckled. "you've seen all the episodes." she chuckled as well. this was one of her favorite episodes. it was the one where Sandy built a rocket and Sponge bob stole it with Patrick. we sat there. no noise except for the occasional giggle from dashie.
"what's this button do?" asked Patrick. "Patrick, don't touch that..." but Patrick being Patrick, he didn't listen and pressed it anyway. dashie laughed at Patrick. after the episode dashie got tired and fell asleep in my lap. i tried to get up but, i didn't want to wake her up. she looked to peaceful so i just sat there, stroking her mane. until i too, fell under the sandman's spell.
it was the noon when i awoke.
dashie was still asleep in my lap so i sat there,motionless, thinking about what she asked me last night after forest left. "would you be mad if i married forest?" that sentence kept repeating in my head. i wish i could prevent it but i know i can't dashie is a full grown mare that can make her own decisions.
i just wish that... at least she waits. just to make sure that hes right for her. her mane tickles my side. i reach to scratch it, and she wakes up. "hey pops. what time is it?" i looked at her. she was curled up into a tightly packed ball. "its almost noon." she nods and gets off my lap. she stretches her back and wings. "so dad, i was thinking..." she stops for a moment. "about...what i asked you, last night?"
"oh no, not this again." i thought to myself. "yeah,what is it?" "well, i really REALLY like forest. and..." i put up my hand to stop her. "Hun, you know how i feel about forest." her ears flop down and she looks sad. "but... if you think that he's right, i guess i could give up my suspitions about him being a human." her ears shoot up and her eyes widen. "really?!" she asks, excitedly. "i guess." she hugs me almost instantly. "oh thank you thank you thank you!" "you're welcome Dashie." she leans up and kisses me on the cheek.
" i love you soooooooo much dad." i could still hear the excitement in her voice. "but first i need to...hang out with him,you know, to get to know him." she looks at me. "oh... of course he'll be here in a few hours." "but i need to do it alone." "yeah i know." "OK." she was still hugging me. "ok, you can let go now." "awww do i have to?" i chuckle a little and return the hug. "only if i don't have to." "deal." she says with a smile. we sat there for what felt like hours. eventually we had to stop because forest was knocking on the door. i got up and opened it. i invited him in. "thanks mr.dash." i smile. he sits down beside dashie. "hey, forest?" he looks at me. "yeah?" "wan't to go to Sugar Cube Corner with me?" he smiles, i can tell he's excited. he gets up and walked to the door.
he turns around. "Rainbow, aren't you coming?" i answer his question even though it was clearly targeted at dashie. "no, she cant she has..." i stop trying to think of an excuse. "alot of chores to do." dashie says, finishing my sentence for me. "yes chores." "oh umm OK." he says. "i guess it's just us." i said.
"umm yeah, i guess so." we left. there were no words that were spoken on our way there. when we got there was sat out on one of the patios outside.pinkie showed up to greet us. "hi Bryan, hi forest." "hello pinky just give me the usual." "okey dokey lokey." she turned to forest. "and for you?" "ummm..." he grabbed the menu off the table.
"i'll have a cupcake i guess." "okey dokey lokey." pinkie said as she skipped away to get our food. "so,forest, what are you're hobbies?" his face lightens up with excitement. "well, i like to play the guitar, and i like to excercize." pretty normal answer. so far, so good. "where were you born?" his face begins to fill with fear. "well umm.. i was born here in equestria." he's hiding something, that much i know. " i know that i meant where in equestria?" he remains silent for a while. "well?" i say, impatient. "well i was born in Ponyville."
if the answer was so easy why didn't he just say Ponyville before? "really? that's weird, i don't remember ever seeing you in the show." now he's worried. he stumbles to try to figure out what to say. just then, our food shows up. "oh look our food." "here you guys go" says mr.cake. "thank you." i say as i hand him a few bits as a tip. "why thank you Bryan." he smiles and walks away. i need to get the subject back of why i never saw him in the show. i acted fast. "so,forest, you were about to explain why i never saw you in the show." his face fills with even more worry and fear. "oh umm yeah. well it's because a few days after i was born my parents and i moved to Canterlot."
i moved back to Ponyville about 30 years ago." damn it. he seems serious it is a reasonable answer. "have you ever been to the Crystal Empire?" its an innocent enough question. "well no, i have only seen pictures but I've never actually been myself." "me neither." we stop talking to eat. once we are done, forest pulls out his coin purse. i stop him. "no i'll pay, this was my idea anyway." he puts back his coin purse. "oh thanks mr.dash." "please, call me Bryan." he seems surprised. "umm ok... Bryan."
he said the last word rather reluctantly. as we walk back home i ask him more questions. each getting more and more personal until finally i ask it. the big question. "do you love my daughter?" he stops instantly. "well umm..." hes clearly nervous. "it's OK if you do. i would understand, i mean who can't love her?" "well umm yeah." he blushes slightly. finally, i got him where i want him. "would you... oh i don't know... marry her?" once again he stops and gets nervous. "well i never really thought about that." he stops talking,probably contemplating whether or not he should tell me the truth. "tell me the truth." i say, trying to sound assertive.
"umm yeah i would. but i don't think she would say yes. i don't want to get heart-broken." "oh i have a feeling she would say yes." i say,with a real smile. i think i have come to like him. i think i finally gave up my suspitions about him. he smiles back. his eyes gleaming with excitement. "really?" "yeah." we continue walking we didn't say much but he was still super excited. as i opened the door i exclaimed: "dashie? i'm home!"
"hi dad." i heard her call from her room. "i'll be down soon, i just got out of the shower.""OK!" me and forest sat on the couch. dashie came down a few minutes later. "hey dad, hey forest." "hey rainbow." said forest. "hey dashie." i said. "so how were your chores?" i ask. "oh great i did them all." she smiles. "good." she sits down between me and forest. "so.. how was your guys lunch?"
"oh it was awesome." responded forest before i could say anything. "that's good." said dashie. "well it's time for forest to go home." i say as i'm looking at my watch. "oh OK." he says as he jumps down from the couch. dashie jumps down as well. "i'll walk you home." looking at forest."OK just be safe." "i will." she responded as she closed the door and left. i fell asleep on the couch and woke up and hour later to a very ecstatic rainbow dash bursting through the door. "ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!"
i roll over to look at her. "what is it?" "forest asked me to... MARRY HIM!" she screamed the last two words. "that's wonderful Hun." she looked at me weird. "aren't you going to say that he's not right for me or something?" "there's no reason to. i have accepted the fact that he's perfect for you." "oh my gosh. thanks dad!" she ran upstairs and went to bed.
i woke up in the middle of the day. much to my surprise, the entire pony gang was sitting around the coffee table. "umm hey, what are you guys doing here?" "why, we're planning the wedding darling." said rarity. at that moment i remembered how dash came home all excited about getting married. "oh yeah..."

it has been a few weeks since dashie became engaged. and with the pony gang and my suspitions of forest subsiding, this is turning out to look like it will be a nice wedding. initially dashie,as well as forest, wanted a simple,small wedding, but rarity being rarity, convinced them to go big or go home.
rarity booked the crystal castle, Yeha, the entire crystal castle. to have the wedding there, i don't even want to know how she did it. and frankly, i don't really care. i am just so excited that my little girl was getting married. and to the pony that extended my life by about a month so many years ago.
i gave up on my investigations into forest' past so long ago. but if he hurts my dashie in anyway, he will regret it for all eternity. he still seems to have zero memory of his past. but again, i don't care, seeing as i gave up the investigation. i just hope that dashie is absolutely sure that this is what she wants. i think it is.
the wedding is only a few days away, and with every pony rushing to get things down to the last,perfect,detail. and me helping when and where i can, i haven't had any time to spend with dashie. at least i get to walk her down the aisle on her big day.
well, today is the day. dashie woke me up rather early,around 4 am, she was shaking me. i looked into her beautiful, rose rimmed, eyes. "yeah?" she stops shaking me. "dad we have to go soon if we want to be there on time. "OK." i said,getting up. "let me just get dressed." "OK but hurry." i smile. "OK i will." i say as i walk up the stairs. i few minutes later i hear a now frantic rainbow dash banging on my door.
"come on dad we need to goooo." she keeps banging on my door harder each time. until the door finally swings open, luckily i was just putting on my shoes, so she didn't see anything he hasn't already before. i chuckle as i notice she gets more and more impatient with each passing second. i stood up.
"OK let's go." she grunts. "finally, let's go." as we are on the train to the crystal empire, i can tell dashie is getting nervous. i hug her. "it's OK honey, i'm here." she smiles and hugs me back. "thank's dad, i love you."
"i love you too." we end our embrace when dashie starts crying tears,not of sadness, but joy. and rarity starts freaking out about ruining her dress. for the rest of the ride there, we just sat there, staring out the window. i never saw forest on the train, i got curious and asked dashie.
"where's forest?" she looks at me. "he said he would meet us at the train station ,if you didn't take so long to get ready, we could have gotten on the earlier train with him." she says, somewhat jokingly, but mostly serious. "oh, i'm sorry i wanted to look perfect for my little girl's wedding." i say sarcastically. even though she knew full well i was being sarcastic, she still responded with a serious answer.
"well you're forgiving." she smiles. i smiled back. the train conductor then came over the PA system. "dear, passengers, this is your conductor,Steam Puff, speaking. we are about 5 minutes from the crystal empire. thank you for picking Rail Road Express." his voice boomed filling the entire cart with his loud, calm voice. "well" i said, looking over at dashie. "you ready for your big day honey?" she looked at me, more nervous than before, yet, she still had a smile on her face.
"yup, i'm ready pops." i put my arm around her.
"good because there's no turning back now." i said,jokingly. the train then came to a full stop. as i stepped off,followed by dashie and her friends, forest saw me and rushed over. what happened next,warmed my heart but also scared the shit out of me. "hey dad." said forest looking at me. I felt the same way I did when dashie first said she loves me. i felt my heart skip a beat. i stood there for a few seconds, unsure of how to react.it felt like i stood there for hours but,in reality, it was only a few seconds. i noticed that every pony was staring at me.
I had to say something,and fast. "hello...forest." i said, his ears flopped down. maybe one day i will call him my son. but frankly, dashie is a big handful and i wont have any time alone if i accepted him as my...son. "hey pops?" dashie says, pulling at my pant leg. "yes?"
i say as i look down at her. "can we go now? I don't want to be late." i chuckle. "OK." so we left to the castle.
wow, the wedding was alot bigger than i expected. but it felt like it all happened so fast. when we got to the castle the guards let us in, recognizing me. they tried to stop dashie and the others until i mentioned that this was the wedding party. they looked at me,then at each other and nodded. they let us in. when we were inside, it was exactly like the show. i felt my brony excitement build up as i remembered that episode in season 3 where the ponies had to greet the equestria games inspector but ended up grabbing the wrong pony.
although, it was alot bigger than the show made it look. the place was completely empty. except for... my parents? it took me a bit to realize it, but i forgot to invite them. i guess word got to them and they came anyway. i was so happy that i ran to them. they were standing in the throne room. i gave them the biggest hug ever. "how did you find out about the wedding?" i asked them. "a certain... pink,cotton candy smelling, pony told us."
i laughed lightly. "pinkie pie." i thought to myself. we let go to each other to walk to the ball room, which is where the wedding is being held. It was already decorated. within the next few hours the guest's started showing up, such as:shining Armour,princess cadence,ditzy doo,the wonder bolts and many more. when twilight saw cadence, she ran over to her. "sunshine sunshine, ladybugs awake. clap your hooves and do a little shake." they laugh, and so do i. its the same thing they do every time they see each other.
and when dashie saw spit fire and the other wonder bolts she trotted over to them and caught up. seeing as it's been a long time since they actually hung out. they talked about the good times, their shows, and races. every once-in-a-while they would laugh.soon the priest showed up and asked us to take our seats.i followed rainbow dash into her dressing room. "dad?" "yeah?" "i'm so nervous." she said i can clearly hear the nervousness in her voice as well see it on her face.
"it's OK, i will be there the whole time." she smiles. "thanks dad, you always know just what to say." she hugs me. just then, i hear the wedding bells. that's our cure. i grab her by the hoof and walk her down the aisle. the rest of the ceremony was rather plain. after they said their i do's it was time for the dancing. dashie rushed over to me and grabbed my hand. i knew what she was doing. "i don't dance Hun." she looked sad. "please? for me?" i pondered this for a moment. "only if you get a full spa treatment when we get home."
i said. she dropped my hand and looked at me with a defeated look on her face. she sat there for a few minutes,thinking. she finally sighed. "OK fine, only one time though." "deal." i said smiling.
she pulled me up and escorted me to the dance floor. i realized that she is worse at dancing than i was. we were stumbling all over the place. but we had fun. we laughed at how silly we looked. forest then showed up. i knew what he was thinking and before he could say anything i nodded. he smiled and whisked dashie away to dance. he wasn't a bad dancer. but dashie was still stumbling around but through the night, she got the hang of it. before i knew it it was time to go back home. we all got on the train. and went home.
dashie seems happy, therefore, i'm happy. we stopped at quails and sofas on the way home to buy a new sofa. just somewhere where forest can sleep until i can save up to buy a bed for him. he seemed to like it.

its been a few days since the wedding and forest keeps calling me his dad. i really don't care anymore. i'm still not going to call him my son. no. he has to earn that privilege. I asked him why he calls me dad and he just simply said that he doesn't remember his parents and he has no pony to take care of him.
i sympathize with him. i know what he's going through. my parents died when i was 14 and i had to live by myself for 3 years until i found dashie.
later today i might humor him and call him... son.but he's still far off from that being a full time thing.
i woke up this morning and heard dashie talking to forest down stairs. i roll over in my bed to look at the clock. 8 am. i get up and walk over to the window. i open the blinds, nearly blinding myself in the process. its nice out.
i can hear the birds singing and the ponies talking. i can see pinkie pie outside. i wave to her. "hi pinkie!" i shout so she can hear me. she looks left,then right. then up at me. "oh hi Bryan!" she says with a big smile on her face.
waving at me. i turn around and see pinky. "holy shi..."she scared me so bad that my heart almost stopped. i turn back around and look out the window.she wasn't there. i turn back around with a confused look on my face. she still had a huge smile on her face. "how did you do that?" i say, pointing at her. "do what?" she says, with a smile still on her face. "get into my..."
i stopped,remembering that she's basically excused from the laws of not only logic, but physics. i shake my head. "n-never mind." "okey dokey lokey." she says.there was an awkward silence for a few seconds. "so... what are you doing today?" i ask, still confused.
"oh nothing, i might go hang out with applejack at the orchard." i nod, not entirely paying attention. there was yet another awkward silence took place. "well i need to get dressed." i say. i was wearing some pajamas that rarity had made me. "OK." she said but she just stood there. "you can wait in the living room for me."
she takes the hint and leaves my room,closing the door of course. i sigh and chuckle at how weird she can be at times.
after i got dressed i left my room and went down the stairs. i didn't see pinkie. i look at dashie and forest. "where did pinky go?" dashie looks at me. "i don't know, she said something about going to hang out with AppleJack."
we both chuckled at her weirdness. "so, do you two have any plans today?" i said,motioning towards dashie and forest with my hand. they look at each other. "not really." they both say in perfect unison. i smile. "good, because i'm going to take you up on our deal." i say looking at dashie. she looks nervous, as if she had hoped that i would forget our deal, i would never forget a deal like this. "aw crap." she said, looking at the ground. forest looked confused. "what deal?" "me and dashie made a deal on your wedding night. i dance with her but she has to get a full spa treatment with me." forest chuckles, probably remembering how silly me and dashie looked when we were dancing. dashie sighs, accepting her defeat.
"fine, let's get this over with." i smile, and get the sudden urge to jump up and down clapping my hands. i resisted
the urge. the entire way there dashie tried to talk me out of it but i stood my ground. not wanting to miss this opportunity. when we got there they prepared a hot bath. like last time, she didn't complain.
then there was the face mask and,much to my surprise, she didn't struggle. i let a tear of joy roll down my face. she loves me so much that she would do something for me that she would never do for any other pony. get a spa treatment. then, it was time for the hoofacure.
she struggled a bit, but she didn't freak out as much as i had expected her to. when it was all over she rushed out of the spa center. relieved that it was finally over. i couldn't help but hug her. "pops?" "yeah?""why are you hugging me?" she asked. "because, you love me so much that you would actually get a full blown spa treatment. i hear her chuckle. "only for you pops." we walked back home. when we got there, forest was still on the recliner. "so, how was the spa?" he says. i can tell that he was holding back a laugh. i look at Dashie with a huge grin on my face.
i look back at forest. "it was great." "yeah... great." dashie says with a lot of sarcasm in her voice. i chuckle as dashie flew back over to the couch and plops back down beside forest. later that day me and dashie went to twilight's library to grab the newest daring do book: Daring Do And the Quest for the Golden Sword. when we knocked on the door, spike answered. "hey Bryan, hey rainbow. what's up?" "hey spike." i said.
"we were wondering if you had the new daring do book?" he stood there,thinking for a bit. "umm yeah i think we do." he motioned for us to follow him inside. he climbed up the ladder and pulled it out. "daring do and the quest for the golden sword?" he asks. "yup, that's the one." he climbs down and hands it to us. "thanks spike." i say as we walk towards the door. "tell twilight we said hi." i say when we reach the door. "OK i will." he says, waving at us as we left the library.
it was pretty late out, around 1am. when we got home,Forest was asleep on the couch. me and Dashie snuck upstairs,not wanting to wake him. we wen't to our separate rooms for the night. the next morning i woke up with Dashie asleep at my side. i don't remember her coming into my room. i shrug it off and get dressed and head downstairs. forest greets me with his usual "hi dad." i just nod at him and sit down beside him not saying a word.
after about 20 minutes he gets up to go to the kitchen to get some breakfast. a few minutes later he comes back with two bowls of cereal. And hands me one.
"thanks." i say. "no problem." he says,smiling at me. i think he has earned it. "son?" when i say this he drops his bowl on the floor and turns to me. "what did you just call me?" he asks. i know he heard the first time, but i thought i would humor him again. "i called you son." his face instantly forms the biggest smile i think i have ever seen.
"wow..um.." he says, not sure of what to say. " i think you have earned the right to be called my son." his face is still gleaming with happiness. he stills stumbles over his words. "wow..umm.. thanks.. dad." as soon as he said the last word his smile got even bigger. i look at the mess he had made when he dropped the bowl of cereal. i place my bowl on the coffee table and stand up. "here, let me help you clean this up." he nods and goes to grab the broom. i lean down to pick up the bowl. he comes back with the broom and cleans it up. "thanks dad." he says as he walks back to the kitchen and puts the broom away.
"so when did you guys get home?" he says as he sits back down on the couch. "around 1 am. we saw you asleep on the couch so we snuck upstairs." "oh. thanks." he says as he grabs the tv remote and turns it on to some show i have never seen. "what show is this?" i ask. "I think it's called star trek." that name rings a bell.
i remember some of my friends recommending it to me but i never got around to watching it. just then dashie came down the stairs. I could tell she was still half asleep. "dashie?" i ask. "yeah pops?" "when did you come into my room last night? i woke up and you were sleeping beside me." "oh yeah about that. i couldn't fall asleep so i came into your room."
I knew she was lying. there was a deeper meaning to her coming into my room but i shrug it off. i didn't care that she slept with me. "oh OK." i said. she makes her way down the stairs and sits down beside forest. "what show is this?" "it's called star trek." forest says. "oh, i have never heard of it."
nothing too special happened today except that i started calling forest my son full time but that's about it.

today i woke up to dashie beside me. this was the third night in a row. there's no way that there isn't something going on. i had to figure it out. i shoke her awake. she seemed really jumpy,more jumpy than usual. "it's OK dashie it's just me." i said in a calm,soothing voice.
"oh thank celestia, it's just you." "dashie, this is the third night in a row i woke up to you sleeping in my bed. what's going on." she got nervous when i asked this. "n...nothing." her eyes dart around the room as if she's looking for a diversion. "dashie, i know when you're lying. tell me the truth."
she sighed, accepting her defeat. "OK... i have been having nightmares.like you did back in Equestria." i instantly become worried. "what kind of nightmares?" "i don't know.. they change each time." i don't know what this means,and neither does Dashie. "hmm..." i say, thinking as to what this could mean. "when did they start?" i asked, she pondered this a bit.
"about 3 days ago." i think back, to try and see if anything weird happened 3 days ago. i didn't have much luck though,as my search comes up negative. "what happens in these nightmares?" "i don't exactly know. they happen too fast." there's definitely something bigger to this story. and i am going to figure out what that is exactly.
the next few days were spent looking into Dashie's nightmare problem. it has been about a week since it has started. and i finally had enough. dashie was complaining that the nightmares were getting worse so i finally took her to zecoras hut. "sorry,mr.dash. but there is nothing i can do.there is no brew."
she said. "damn. that means that she doesn't know how to make it stop." i thought to myself. "oh well thanks anyway, Zecora."
she nods and waves to me as me and dashie leave. dashie looks up to me, her eyes filled with worry. "dad. what's going to happen now?" she asked. "i don't know. maybe they will just stop or maybe there's a deeper meaning behind this." just then i was struck with a brilliant idea. "the hospital!" dashie looks at me with a weird look on her face. "what?"
"we will go to the hospital."
"and how will that help?" "This place is magical. They have to have something that can help." and with that we were off.
when we got there we were met by the receptionist. "hello, mr.dash. what seems to be the problem?" "well dashie here is having nightmares." "ah say no more. i know just the thing."
she rights a prescription for a "good dream pill" as she called it. we thanked her as we left. i look over the orange bottle. "take one pill every 6 hours for two weeks. if the problem persists please contact your doctor." "well, it seems normal enough." i hand the bottle to dashie, who quickly pops one in her mouth. "i don't care. as long as these nightmare's stop." i nod my head and we walk home.
when i woke up the next day dashie was asleep in her own room. "well i guess the pills worked." i say as i get up to get dressed. its around 7:30am so i think forest might be up. i walk down the stairs and there was forest. sitting on the couch watching TV and eating cereal. "hey dad." he said. "hey" i said.
i would have said son just to make his day but i was too tired. i go and sit beside him. "so, did dashie sleep well last night?" this question makes him nervous. "oh umm i don't know i.." i put up my hand to stop him. "i know that you sleep with her. like come on do you really think i'm that stupid?" "well no but..." i stop him again.
"just answer the question forest." "well,to be honest, i was asleep when you guys came home so i don't know." i think back and remembered that he wasn't on the couch like he usually is when we get home.
"well, thanks anyway." he nods and turns back to the TV. a few minutes of awkward silence later, dashie comes down the stairs and rushes to my side, squeezing between me and forest. she gives me the biggest hug ever. "thank's daddy, the pills worked great." i smiled and returned the hug. "anything for my little girl." the moment is so sentimental that i even catch forest wiping a tear from his face.
"so dashie, how long has forest been sleeping with you?" her eyes instantly widen and start darting across the room. "what? he doesn't sleep with me." i smile. "honey, i know when your lying. just tell me the truth."
she sighs as her eyes return to their normal size. "a couple of weeks." "oh, OK." she instantly looks up at me. "aren't you going to be mad or anything?" "nope" i say,with a smile still spread across my face."oh." she said,sounding a little dissapointed. i shrug it off and watch TV,dashie is still hugging me but i don't care. after the episode i nudge her to get her attention. nothing,she doesn't respond. "dashie!?" i scream,now getting desperate. my mind rushes through the thought's of only the worst possible thing. "uh dad?" forest said. i looked at him. "yeah?"
he can sense the fear and worry in my voice. "she fell asleep." i look down at her.she's still breathing. "oh thank celestia." even though i know that the worst didn't happen, i can still feel my heart beating so hard i'm half expecting it to rip itself out of my chest. i thought back to her birthday party back in Equestria where she also fell asleep while hugging me. I couldn't help but smile whenever i remember that. and now it has happened for the second time.

CHAPTER 8: Thunder Hooves.
it has been a few days since dashie started taking those good dream pills. and for the most part, they seem to be working. except that she gets very drowsy at noon but i guess that's just a side effect.today a knock on the door woke both me and dashie we both walked down the stairs and i opened the door. standing there was a pony i have never seen before. he had a short,black,messy mane and tail with red streaks through them.,white feathers, light green eyes. and his cutie mark was a cloud with a lightning bolt,much like Dashie's cutie mark. He also had three circular stud earrings up the length of his right ear. The bottom was was red and the other two were black. he said his name was Thunder Hooves
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Thunder Hooves is my OC. i created,as well as named him, and thought that he should get a chance to be in this story.
he said he was lost and he was looking for sugar cube corners. i offered to walk him there but dashie jumped in and walked him instead. i chuckled as i shut the door. i have never met him but somehow, he was still kind of familiar. then it struck me. i saw him on a fan site back before dashie came into my life. "but that means..." i said out loud. "oh shit." that means that either there was another human in Equestria or,more likely, bronies get reincarnated as their own representation of themselves as a pony. "but then why didn't I get reincarnated..." i pondered this over. "maybe it's because i came here and declined Celestia's offer to turn me into a pony." i stuck with that answer, not wanting to think about it anymore.
'it's probably just a coincidence." i thought to myself.i didn't think he was here to cause any harm to any pony. he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
Thunder Hooves quickly became good friends with Dashie. He would visit almost every day. Forest doesn't seem to like him. He thinks that Thunder Hooves is trying to take Dashie away from him. But I reassured him that he's just a friend and that he's a nice guy. Forest seemed to calm down but i could still tell that he doesn't like him. Every time Thunder Hooves visit's, Forest just eyes him down as he ascends the stairs towards Dashie's room. When he left today he pulled me aside. "What's up with that pony that sits on the couch and stares at me?" i chuckled a little. "That's Forest, he's Dashie's husband. He seems to think that you are trying to take her away from him." "Oh, good, I thought he was planning my second death or something." we both share a laugh. "No, he's genuinely a nice guy when you get to know him, He's just a little bit protective." "One more question," I raised my eyebrows in response. "are you like her uncle or something?" I felt kind of offended at this question but then I remembered that he"s still new here so I let it slide. "no i'm her father." "oh." a silence fell for a few moments. It was Thunder Hooves who finally broke the silence. "well.. I"m going to go home now." "OK" I say as i wave towards him as he takes off towards his house.
Well, It's been about a year and a half since i wrote in this journal. This lat year was pretty normal, except for one thing. Thunder Hooves performed a Sonic Rainboom. We were in the park. Dashie and Thunder Hooves were flying around, doing some tricks. When they decided to have a race. "GO!" I yelled from the ground. and they were off. The strong wind from their speed almost threw me across the park. For the first portion of the race Dashie was winning but not by much. Until Thunder Hooves got this sudden burst of energy and took off like a rocket. All I heard was a very familiar explosion sound. It was a Sonic Rainboom. Except this one was different. Instead of a rainbow, it was all black. After the race, we all crowded around and congratulated him. When we got back home, It was time to celebrate. We kept it to a small amount of 5. Me,Dashie,Forest,Thunder Hooves and Pinkie. I told her that she didn't need to show up but it's not really a party without her. Soon after it started I saw Forest pull Thunder hooves aside. "listen, If you think that you can just show up and take Rainbow Dash away, then you have another thing coming." I saw Thunder Hooves laugh at his threat. "look, Forest was it? I'm just a friend. I understand why you're worried, A random pony shows up and starts hanging out with Dashie. But I assure you, I wouldn't do that to you or her." I think that he was satisfied with this answer because he trotted off. But I could tell that he still had his eye on him as he kept looking for him. He didn't want to let him out of his line of sight.
Well another year that was uneventful. I woke up this morning to the sound of yelling and what sounded like fighting. I got up, got dressed and walked downstairs. At first i saw Forest, with his back towards me, then i saw Dashie. She seemed to be crying. I finish my descent down the stairs and stand between them. "OK, what's going on here?" I asked, calmly. "He thinks that Thunder Hooves is more important to me than he is." I can hear Forest from behind. "THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS!" he was clearly very angry. I turn around to face him and let the anger take over in my voice. "You do not yell at her like that! I think its time for you to leave. "OK, but i'm never coming back." He stormed off in anger. when he was gone, I heard dashie behind me. "good ridence." i turn around to hug her. "it's OK. I'm here." just then Thunder Hooves showed up and noticed that Dashie was crying. He ran over. "Are you OK? What happened?" i could hear the concern in his voice. "Me and Forest got into an argument and he left." "It was about me, wasn't it?" Dashie's face filled with an emotion that I cant even describe. "well... yeah. how did you know?" Thunder Hooves sighed. "I knew that he never liked our friendship. He thought i was trying to split you too apart." "what?!" "yeah, I could tell he never trusted me. but you know I would never do that to you right?" "yeah, I know." and with that, they met for a hug. Thunder Hooves stayed over that night. probably just to make sure that Dashie was OK. I tried to stay up to make sure she was OK but Thunder Hooves insisted that I went to bed. "It's OK, I can handle this." I didn't question it as I was exhausted . so i plopped myself down onto the couch and fell asleep almost instantly.

It has been a week since Forest stormed out of the house and I haven't heard from him or even seen him around town. Thunder Hooves stayed at our house for the whole week.
I don't think he got any sleep at all. I am beginning to see the dark bags under his eyes and he's yawning constantly.I keep telling him to at least take a nap but he says he's fine. "Bryan, I'm fine, I don't need any sleep." I have come to find out that he can be rather stubborn at times. "Thunder, I can clearly see dark bags under your eyes.
and you are constantly yawning." he yawned. "no I'm not, I'm fine." i gave up on trying to convincing him because he clearly wasn't going to listen to me. I woke up this morning and saw him asleep on the carpet.
I sighed and shook my head with a smile on my face. I went up stairs and to the linens closet to grab him a blanket. with the blanket in hand, I walked back down the stairs and threw it over him. it was still early so I sat back down on the couch and fell back asleep.
I woke up a few hours later to the sound of Dashie coming down the stairs. Thunder Hooves was awake as well. I saw Dashie hug Thunder Hooves. "what is she hugging him for?" I asked myself. i pretended to be asleep but I left one of my eyes open so I can just barely see them. Then the completely unexpected happened.
She kissed him. "what the hell?" I thought to myself. Just then, Dashie saw that I was awake. her face was instantaneously filled with worry. "oh umm... hey pops. what's uh... what's up?" Thunder Hooves turned around. I now had both my eyes open. "oh hey Bryan " Knowing that my cover was blown, I sat up.
"hey." I rubbed my eyes, pretending that i just woke up now. "how much of that did you see pops?" She asked. I cocked my head slightly to the right and wore a false expression of confusion in my voice and on my face. "see what?" They both believed my lie. "oh nothing." "umm OK." I don't know how long this has been going on. I just hope that it's recent. like, a few days recent.
But in my heart, I knew it has been going on for a while. for the next week I caught them hugging and kissing alot but I just always pretended that I never saw it. I know that something is going on between them. I just don't know what that is exactly.
OK, it's been almost a month. I had to confront Dashie about this. so, I sent Thunder Hooves to go to town and do some errands. "that should buy me a few hours to talk to Dashie." I thought to myself. I walked up the stairs and knocked on her door. "Dashie, I need to talk to you." there was a silence that lasted a few moments.
"OK, pops, Come in." I opened the door and sat down beside her on her bed. "How long have you and Thunder Hooves been... You know?" her ears flopped down as she looked at her hooves. "A...About a month." I didn't say anything. Mainly because I was so shocked. that was alot longer that i would have expected. "why?"
i simply asked. she looked up to me and had an embarresed expresion on her face. "because, he was there for me. He's funny and kind, and fast. He can actually keep up with me. He's first rate."
this sort of made sense. Dashie won't settle for anything less than the best. I stood up, not saying a word, and walked out. Dashie followed. A few hours later Thunder Hooves showed up.
Dashie jumped off the recliner and kissed him. he saw that i was looking right at them. he pushed her away. "What are you doing?" he asked.He's not a very good actor. "Thunder Hooves, I know." that's all I had to say for after that he looked surprised. "how long?" "about a month." he nodded.and pulled Dashie towards him and kissed her, Knowing that I was fine with it.
It's has been a week since I told Thunder Hooves that I knew what was happening between him and Dashie. I'm ok with it. I actually like Thunder Hooves, as I never did really like Forest.
I was much less hesatant to call him my son than I was with Forest. He seems happy. Then again, He always seems happy. Today Me,Dashie, and Thunder Hooves went into town for no real reason. We just walked,well, I walked as they flew overhead. It was a beautiful day out. The pegisi ponies out did themselves this time.
We walked around town for a few hours before it started to get dark. "We should head home." They both nodded in confirmation and we headed towards home. When we got home the door was locked so I pulled out my keys and unlocked it. All the lights were off. I stumbled around for a minute or two, trying to find the lightswitch. When I found it, I turned it on and it shit some light into the room. The sudden bright flash of light nearly blinded us.

I woke up to the sound of screaming. It didn't sound as if someone was hurting Dashie. It sounded more like a.. a scream of excitement. Still, I jumped out of my bed and got dressed as fast as I could and ran downstairs. All I saw was Dashie and Thunder Hooves. It turns out that it was Dashie who was screaming. Apparently, Thunder Hooves had proposed. The cute face of Dashie made my heart exploded for the millionth time. She was truly happy and therefore, I was happy.
Well, This is the second wedding withing the last few years that I had the honor of planning along with Apple Jack, Flutter Shy,Rarity,Pinkie Pie, and Twilight Sparkle.
This time we convinced Rarity that we can't afford to rent out the entire crystal castle again. So we just decided to have it at the Town Hall. It was the same plan as last time. Rarity was on apparel duty, Pinkie Pie was on reception duty, Apple Jack did the catering, Flutter Shy was in charge of the music, And me and Twilight would just help out where, and when, we could. This wedding is going to be nowhere near as long at the last one.
But, I feel as if it will be better.
Mainly because I don't have to fake a smile for the whole thing, like last time.
Well, today's the day. The day my, not so little, Dashie gets married... again.
It feels as if this time, the date creeped up much faster than last time. But luckily, we were ready a few days beforehand. When we all arrived at the Town Hall we were greeted by a lot of ponies.
including,but not liminted to; Derpy,Berry Punch, The Mayor, And, of course, Shining Armour and Cadence. We all went inside and began the wedding almost instantly.
"Do you, Rainbow Dash, take Thunder Hooves as your lawfully wedded husband?" Dashie looked towards me and smiled. I just nodded. She looks back into Thunder Hooves' eyes, Still smiling.
"I do." "And do you, Thunder Hooves, take Rainbow Dash as your lawfully wedded wife?" He responded almost instantly. "I do." And with that, they kissed. Everypony, as well as myself, stood up and cheered and clapped. The after party was just as I had expected, a Pinkie Pie styled party. There was dancing, cake, and party games.
Over all, it was perfect. The perfect end to a perfect night. She didn't pester me into dancing like last time.
She was probably worried I would make her get another spa treatment. The night went on rather normally. Ponies dancing, ponies partying. It was rather early when we got home, around 2AM.
When we got home, I unlocked the door and opened it. It was dark due to us leaving when it was still light out. We said our separate good nights and went to out respective rooms.

Dashie and Thunder Hooves have been married for a year now and they seem pretty happy. And they should be, because Dashie is pregnant. I didn't believe her when she told me but the ultra sounds quickly proved me wrong. At first, I didn't know what to think. But now, I'm excited. We still don't know if it's a filly or a colt yet. And I really don't care. Because that would ruin the surprise.
She's about 8 months into her pregnancy and it's going great. Even though she gained a lot of weight due to the baby, she still looks beautiful.
Well, she's 9 months pregnant and the baby's due any day now. Dashie is a mixture of both nervousness, and excitement.
"Dad?" She asks me from her recliner.
I turned my head to look at her. "Yes?"
"What is it like giving birth?"
I felt the sudden urge to laugh, but something told me not to.
"Well, I don't know. I'm a boy so, I can't get pregnant."
She looks at the floor, dissapointed.
"But I would imagine that it's rather painful."
She looks up at me with a small smirk on her face. "well, duh." We both shared a light chuckle.
I woke up to Dashie shaking me furiously.
"DAD! It's time!"
I instantly shot up from my bed. "Oh shit!"
I got dressed faster than I have ever got dressed in my life.
I helped her walk down the stairs, still in a rush. Thunder Hooves was waiting outside.
"Finally, let's go!"
We both grabbed one of Dashie's hooves and carefully, but quickly, brought her to the Hospital.
We busted through the door. "She's in labor!" Me and Thunder Hooves exclaimed in unison.
Just then, four doctors and nurses showed up, put her in a stretcher, and rushed her into the first empty room they found.
I tried to follow, but they wouldn't allow me. "You may come in when we are ready. But for now, you must wait in the waiting room."
I was furious but I still obeyed. Once I got to the waiting room, Thunder Hooves was already there. I sat down beside him.
He was breathing heavily. I put my arm around him.
"What's Wrong?"
"I'm just so nervous." he said, still breathing heavily.
I felt a smile show up on my face.
"It's OK. She, as well as the baby, will be fine. I'm sure of it."
"Thanks." He said, looking at me and smiling back.
We were in there for what felt like hours. But in reality, It was only about 10 minutes.
"Mr.Dash? Thunder Hooves? You can come in now."
"Thank Celestia." We both said, in unison.
We both stood up. He requested to hold my hand."You know, because I'm so nervous?"
I obliged and stuck out my hand.
We both walked into the room and I instantly sat in the chair beside her bed.
She held out her hoof to me.
I grabbed it, eagerly, and my smile only grew wider.
"Dad?"
"Yes, Dashie?"
"Giving birth sucks."
We all laughed, even the doctors.
Just then, she began screaming.
"You're doing great Dashie." I said.
After an hour or so of her screaming, It was finally over.
"Congratulations, It's a colt"
The doctor said.
He then handed her a small colt with a rainbow mane, and white feathers.
He was so adorable that I,once again, felt my heart explode...twice!
"Do you have a name for him yet?" asked the doctor.
Dashie and Thunder Hooves looked at each other, then to me, then back to each other. Thunder Hooves just nodded.
Dashie then looked back to the doctor.
"Yes, his name is... Bryan"
