Princess Celestia visits PonyVille and trusts Twilight Sparkle and the gang to go to her castle and take over. The Princess is reported frozen solid after a fire in the everfree forest caused by a failed potion made by Zecora. The gang goes back to PonyVille to investigate. Several ponies had mentioned a mysterious creature that had been released from the everfree forest, while running from the fire. But while they mention the creature, they mysteriously freeze and turn into a statue. Later, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rarity turn into stone while asking Fluttershy if she can identify the creature. But every time Fluttershy turns around, the only remains are a few feathers and occasionally scales. Fluttershy gets lonely when everypony in PonyVille turns into stone. She wonders, Who is brave enough to take on such a creature? And it hits her. Gilda! But how would she contact Gilda? Gilda comes by when the news is spread that Rainbow Dash, the best flyer in Equestria, is frozen! But she realizes that everypony is frozen as well! But Fluttershy finds her and explains what's been happening. But she notices the creature sneak up to her behind Gilda! A giant cockatrice! She and Gilda work together to defeat the creature! Fluttershy uses the stare, and Gilda attacks it! But eventually, Gilda freezes, too! Now it is all up to Fluttershy. Can Fluttershy defeat the mighty cockatrice?
