Rumble and his/her mistake.

"Rumble! School is starting. You don't want to be late!" Thunderlane yelled from downstairs to Rumble as he slowly came downstairs. "Flitter bought you new school supplies,"  Thunderlane told Rumble as he was walking down the stairs.

"Alright, alright i'm up! Now what's for breakfast?" Rumble asked.

"Hay fries and a daisy sandwich." Thunderlane answered. "Flitter came over while you were sleeping and bought you breakfast also."

"Why don't you buy anything?" Rumble asked as he grinned. "Sounds like your lazy!"

"Because I have to pay the bills for the house, water, and taxes for the town." Thunderlane answered. "And I don't sleep in 5 minutes before work, like you do with school!" Thunderlane grinned. "Now chow down your food quick if you want to make it to school on time."

After about 2 minutes Rumble ate the hay fries and the sandwich. "Bye Thunderlane." Rumble said as he flew out the door.

"Bye!" Thunderlane said as Rumble flew away.

After about a minute or so, Rumble got to the school yard. Then he didn't see where he was walking and he tripped and fell on a colt with a gold mane and a silver coat he never saw before. "Hey! Watch it!" The pegasus yelled as Rumble got off of him. "I'm gonna teach you some manners!" Then the colt saw Rumble's wings. "Wait a sec... I just got a better idea!" The colt grinned an evil smile. "Let's have a race, with a little bet! If I win, I get to put one curse on you. If you win, I won't pummel your face into the ground."

"Um... ah..." Rumble then saw a crowd appearing as he considered his options. 'If I back down, everypony will think i'm a chicken. But if I accept and lose, he will put a curse on me!' After he considered those options he made his choice. "Fine..." Rumble sighed as the ponies in the crowd put together a makeshift track. After they made them the other pegasus started to stretch his wings and trotted to the starting line, followed by Rumble.

"ON YOUR MARKS!" The other colt yelled.

"G-GET SET!" Rumble stuttered.

"GO!" All the ponies there yelled as the other colt flew two times faster then Rumble, but he slowly caught up as they both went around the track once. The silver pegasus glared at Rumble as he started flying faster then Rumble as he past the track the second time, followed by a surprised Rumble as he strained to keep up with his opponent, but it was to no use as the other pegasus pasted the track for the third time and landed, waiting for Rumble as he flew to his spot shortly after. As the crowd started cheering for the other colt, a gold light ring appeared around Rumble after the other colt chanted a few words, blinding every pony's eyes. After a few seconds the light died down, revealing that nothing happened to Rumble, but the other colt grinned evilly as he teleported away.

"What just happened...?" Rumble wondered out loud as the crowd looked in awe at where the other colt just was. After a few seconds of looking the school bell rang and all the ponies went into the classroom, still shocked at what just happened.

When school ended, he searched for Thunderlane. After a few moments of searching he found Thunderlane in the back of the crowd of parents and guardians. "Ready to go kid?" Thunderlane asked as Rumble responded by nodding his head. "K. Let's go!" Thunderlane said as he started to fly home with Rumble. "Rumble, I have to do some extra work tonight so Flitter and Cloudchaser are gonna babysit you. I'll probably be back tomorrow before you go to school." Thunderlane finished as he flew away. "Bye!" He yelled.

"Bye!" Rumble said as he knocked on the door to the house to be greeted with a light grayish opal pegasus at the door with a bow in her hair.

"Hey, Rumble. How did school go?" she said as she let him in.

"It was weird at the beginning, but other then that is was good," Rumble answered.

"Really?" Flitter asked as she sat down on the couch followed by Rumble. "Tell me about it!"

"Ok." Rumble said as a cerulean pegasus walked into the room also.

"Hey, Rumble. How was you day at school?" Cloudchaser asked.

"I was just about to explain it to Flitter," Rumble replied. "Ok, Thunderlane flew with me to school, and as he left I accidentally tripped and fell on this one gold and silver colt I never saw before. He noticed my wings then made a bet with me on a race. He said if he won, he would put one curse on me, but if I won, he wouldn't pummel me into the ground. After the race he won and chanted a few words that I couldn't hear, and then I was surrounded with a light gold ring which blinded every pony's eyes. But when the light died down nothing happened to me and then the other colt teleported away somehow then day was normal after that." Rumble ended with both Cloudchaser and Flitter looking shocked at what they just heard, but it didn't last long.

"That is... odd..." Cloudchaser broke the silence. Flitter then spoke up, agreeing with her sister.

"That is the oddest thing I have ever heard," Flitter said as she tried to change the subject. "Anyway, what do you want for dinner?" She asked.

It took Rumble a moment to think. "A daisy sandwich. It's my favorite." Rumble answered.

"Ok." Flitter said as she went into the kitchen, leaving Rumble and Cloudchaser alone in the living room.

"So... did you happen to catch his name?" Cloudchaser wondered.

"No, he never told me." Rumble replied as Flitter came in with a daisy sandwich.

"Here Rumble." Flitter said as she gave him the sandwich. "A daisy sandwich."

Rumble eyed the sandwich and he grinned. "Thanks Flitter!" He said as he took a bite of the sandwich. When he was finished he played some games with Flitter and Cloudchaser, then he eyed the clock and noticed it was around 9:30 P.M. "Aw! It's bedtime," Rumble exclaimed as Flitter and Cloudchaser looked at the clock also.

"It is." Cloudchaser said. "Goodnight Rumble! Yell if you need anything" She said as Rumble walked up the stairs to his room and crawled into bed, still thinking of why that colt had that evil smile after he won the bet. After thinking about it for a while he assumed it was nothing. Then at midnight the same light gold ring appeared around Rumble, but she, didn't notice.
