But not this time, as this story has a more serious tale to tell, of a mysterious force that holds countless dimensions in place. And of how that mysterious force mysteriously began to fail... The dimensions started to shift, wreaking havoc for the beings that inhabited these dimensions. Families were separated, sentient and non-sentient beings disappeared for no reason at all. But the chaos had only just begun. Mortal beings can not hope to comprehend the true meaning of what is happening, so their mind limits the information it receives. The mortal mind prefers ignorance over knowing why it exists, how it exists, or merely if others exist. Strange things probably happen around a mortal once every few hours, but their mind shrugs it off and gives an explanation the being can comprehend rather than telling it the truth. It is this ignorance that has saved mortal beings from spontaneous death for over countless millennia. But now this ignorance may cost the lives of all beings, whether known, or unknown. Chapter 1: The dimensions start to shift Jacob was a fairly ordinary kid, at least that's what his mother tells him. He had just about every problem a 15-year-old could have, pimples, short attention span, and for some reason suddenly liking rock music and killing games. Speaking of killing games, Jacob, as per usual, was sitting at his computer playing his currently favourite game, Killing Floor on Steam, a game he had bought using his mums credit card (He paid her back!). Anyway, through ordinary routine he was going through picking his Perk for the game and joining when he noticed something strange, his character wasn't appearing! He went through the characters to check but all of them refused to load. He shrugged it off as a minor glitch and clicked the ready button anyway, ignoring the small earthquake he felt, as it was not very large. He waited for the other players to ready up only to notice in the chat that they were talking about their characters having disappeared as well. Coincidentally, just then one of his new friends he recently met on Killing Floor started playing the game, the notification showing up on his screen. He decided to message them and ask if their characters were working. He opened the chat window and typed in the Question; 'Strange, nobodies characters in this server are loading. Are yours loading?'. He pressed enter to send the message and at the same time got a message back saying; 'No character models are loading for me, not even the specimens!'. Jacob was confused at this but decided to shrug it off as a failure in one of the game updates. He quit the game and opened his Steam Server Browser to look for something else to play. Surprisingly all the servers in his favourites were empty. With nothing else to do and as a last resort, he decided to play on his iPad or his PSP. But, to his horror, when he closed the server browser, the pony he had as his desktop wallpaper was gone! Usually, Jacob had Rainbow Dash sitting on the clouds with Tank flying beside her as his wallpaper: And the clouds and sky were still there, but in the place of Rainbow Dash and Tank was just a black silhouette of them. As if they had been removed from the picture. Now Jacob was worried, he shut down his computer and went to go get his iPad, he walked past the hallway down to his sister's new bedroom and the laundry at the base of the stairway, and someone who looked almost exactly like him said, "Hey Jacob" "Hey LightningClaw," Jacob suddenly paused, 'Wait, was that really? No, it couldn't be.' He turned around just to make sure, and screamed when he saw his imaginary friend LightningClaw, the Warrior Kitten, looking straight back at him. "You- I- But... You're real!?" Jacob started to freak out, though at the back of his mind, he was excited that his favourite imaginary friend was real! LightningClaw, acting nonchalant as Jacob imagined him to be, replied, "Calm down. I need to tell you what's going on before one of us get's pulled, but I can't do that with you freaking out!" Jacob, trying to act cool as per usual, quickly calmed down when told to, "But- How are you real? I just imagined you randomly, basing you off various characters I saw in-" LightningClaw interrupted him, "Stop, right, there. I can't explain that to you, not at the time limit we're on right now. Your family is safe. Me and the others have put them in stasis just in case. However, the rest of earth is still awake. They are in danger, the others are trying to keep them calm but it's hard to do when you're a supernatural being. Now, to start off with the explanation-" This time it was Jacob's turn to interrupt LightningClaw, "Wait, the others?" he asked, LightningClaw sighed "Yes, the others, now, listen, It is imperative that you listen!" LightningClaw said, emphasizing the word imperative, "Everything you know about, all the movies and stories you've read and the games you've played. They're real. There are various dimensions that-" LightningClaw stopped as he looked at Jacob's hand. "Various dimensions that...?" Jacob asked, a bit unnerved by LightningClaw's gaze on his hand, "What-" he went to go look at his hand but LightningClaw stopped him, snapping his fingers right in front of his face. "Jacob, whatever you do, don't panic. You're being pulled to another dimension. I want you to promise me, no, swear that you will not tell anyone of other dimensions. Do not let anyone know that there are other dimensions, do you hear me?" Jacob nodded slowly his whole lower body and arms tingling, LightningClaw continued, "Good. Do whatever you can to stop any others from telling anybody from another dimension where they're from." Suddenly, LightningClaws wrist beeped. He looked at it and frowned, "Okay... You're being pulled to a dimension called, uh... Do you watch My Little Pony?" At Jacob's nod, LightningClaw facepalmed, "Okay, that's wrong on so many levels. Okay, um. Don't panic if you aren't a human when you get there, and, take this." LightningClaw handed Jacob a small circular orb, Jacob watched in horror as it literally melted into his skin, "What the ****!?" He exclaimed, suddenly, words flashed across his vision. HUD activated Reading User brainwaves User status: User: Jacob Health: OK -end status- HUD functioning at full capacity The words disappeared from Jacob's vision, and a green box centred on LightningClaw's face showing more words to the right Subject: LightningClaw Species: Immortal, Warlock, Nekomimi Disposition: Ally Health: OK Jacob just stood there with his mouth open. LightningClaw explained, "I just gave you a built-in HUD, I call it built-in because its actually in your body for the time being, it'll show you important things as well as help you with various other things. But, we're running out of time. Whatever you do in this world, "Equestria", do not act suspicious if you can help it, the last thing I need is to-" Suddenly, the red words 'Warning: Dimensional Rift' flashed across Jacob's vision as the world was stretched, he couldn't hear LightningClaw anymore, he started to panic, What the hell is going on? he thought as the world suddenly turned into a rainbow of colours dancing around his vision. He was flying through some kind of wormhole-type thing, he heeded LightningClaw's advice not to freak out, he closed his eyes and hoped to god it would be over soon. Chapter 2: Where am I...? WHAT am I?Chapter 2: Where am I...? WHAT am I? I couldn't see anything as I flew through that endless portal, at least, it seemed endless. I couldn't remember how long I had been flying through there. My only companion was the HUD that LightningClaw had given me, but it wasn't much in the social department, right now it was just coming up with messages such as "Warning: Gravitational error", "Warning: User bone structure shift", "War-" wait, USER BONE STRUCTURE SHIFT? At that point, once I became aware of it, I could feel my bones moving around, but not in the painful way you usually associate with the sudden change in bone structure, it actually felt like my bones were made of liquid, moving around, reshaping themselves into god-knows what. I couldn't even remember where LighningClaw said I was being pulled! Suddenly, my HUD beeped, interrupting my train of thought, words flashed at me in my vision. Caution: Prepare for dimensional shift At that point, I chose to open my eyes, only to see a blinding white light racing towards me, my first thought was, Oh god, I'm dead! after that thought had rushed through my head, I touched the light, my bones stopped shifting, and for the first time in what had felt like forever. I touched earth, dirt to be exact. I slowly opened my eyes, and gasped. I suddenly remembered where LightningClaw had said I was being pulled to. I was in Equestria, the entrance to Sweet Apple Acres to be exact. I stared, mouth agape at the miles of apple trees spread out before me. I felt bad for my first thought being How am I going to take my ADHD pills? just as that thought had entered my head, some words showed up in my vision, Dear Jacob; I know you have to take those pills everyday, so I set the HUD to administer the drugs automatically. Sincerily, LightningClaw I shuddered, "God dammit LightningClaw, that's just wrong on so many levels!" By the time I realised that I'd said that out loud, a green box in my vision centred around the head of the one and only, Applejack. Like it did with LightningClaw, data showed up on the right of the screen, only with an added line at the top. Reading Brainwaves for subject. Converting brainwaves to data... Subject: Applejack Species: Earth Pony Health: OK Okay, apparently this HUD can read my mind. Applejack walked up to the fence and rested her front hooves on it, "Well howdy there stranger, what brings you to Sweet Apple Acres," I barely registered what she'd said, I was too busy noticing I'd been turned into a unicorn. I was dumbstruck, I was a freakin Unicorn! Blue mane and tail with purple streaks, grey fur with red stripes? Are those ankle bracelets? Am I wearing a shirt? WTF!? I was so busy looking at myself that I forgot that Applejack was right there, "Uh... Excuse me? Are ya okay?" After shakily getting to my feet-and-hands-turned-hooves, I turned to Applejack and decided to introduce myself before things got weirder, "Yeah, I'm fine I just..." Remembering what LightningClaw had said about not telling anyone about other dimensions. "... Tripped, I just tripped." I smiled awkwardly. "Well, are you alright?" Applejack asked. She doesn't believe me I thought, Of course she doesn't believe me she's the freakin element of honesty! I started worrying about my situation, again forgetting that Applejack was right in front of me, Okay, so apparently I'm in Equestria, but at what point in the history? And if I'm stuck here, where do I live? remembering that Applejack was still here, I decided to ask her if she knew any place I could stay for a while, "Well... We have a guest bedroom here at Sweet Apple Acres, or you could try Fluttershy, she's extremely shy but she never turns down a pony in need of help!" Applejack suggested. I decided to try Fluttershy, as she wouldn't ask many questions unlike the Apple Family. Thanking Applejack I went down the path towards Ponyville, it was actually quite easy walking as a pony, the hard part was getting my bearings considering I was in a completely different village in a completely different world in a completely different dimension. Eventually I found myself at the centre of town. I couldn't remember the way to Fluttershy's house however, I may be a brony, but its hard to know which way is which with all the cutscenes in the show, and I never did look up a map, didn't think I'd need it, Geez, how wrong was I?. Turning around I started to look for somebod- er somepony to ask for directions. As I was turning though I felt an electric shock to my flank, a warning sign started flashing in my vision Warning: Electrical current detected Activating fail safes Current not strong enough to cause damage User health: OK, minor shock I whipped around, looking for the culprit, green boxes were centring on everyponies heads except I noticed a red box centred on one pony, or Pegasus to be exact. Rainbow Dash, data showed up as with all the other times Subject: Rainbow Dash Species: Pegasus Disposition: Hostile Health: OK Rainbow was laughing on the lightning cloud she had used to shock me. I attempted to scold her, forgetting I shouldn't know her, "Oi! Rainbow Dash! What the heck was that for!?" She stopped laughing suddenly and looked down at me with a confused expression, "Do I know you?" She asked. "Uh... No." I started trying to come up with an explanation, my HUD, probably reading my mind, showed up with information on Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash Element of Loyalty Proclaims herself as the fastest flyer in Equestria. Only pony to ever perform a Sonic Rainboom Wishes to join The Wonderbolts, an aerial acrobatics team A bit of an egotistical jerk At that, I had my explanation, "How do you know my name?" Rainbow asked. "Who doesn't know Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in Equestria and the only one to ever perform a sonic rainboom?" I asked, she grinned and flew down to land in front of me. "I like you, you're cool. Just for that, I'll warn you about Pinkie Pie." I decided to roll with it so as not to have to come up with another explanation, "If you see a pink pony, that's Pinkie Pie. Once she knows you're here, you're guaranteed to have a surprise party. So, what's your name, anyway? And what's with the clothing?" She asked "Oh, I'm Jacob, and about the clothing? I uh... Just decided to wear it today." I decided against making myself a pony name, I was never any good with names, "Say, can you direct me to Fluttershy's house? I kinda need a place to stay." "Oh Fluttershy's house? Sure, that's at the entrance to the Everfree Forest, I can show you the way if you want." I thanked her and she flew off, I had to run(gallop?) to keep up with her, by the time we made it to Fluttershy's house I was panting, "Wait here while I talk to Fluttershy, she's really shy" I gasped out an okay as she flew up and landed at the door. She knocked three times and waited. The door opened by a hair and I saw an eye peek out. The door then opened the rest of the way and I saw Fluttershy in an apron of all things! "Oh, hello Rainbow Dash, what brings you here at this time?" She said in the softest voice possible, seriously, I had to strain just to hear her, and even then I could barely hear her. "Hey Fluttershy, I brought a friend over, he needs someplace to stay." Rainbow Dash replied. I was shocked, she already considered me a friend? We'd just met! She trotted to the left to let Fluttershy see me. But the instant Fluttershy saw my spiky mane, her eyes widened and she hid behind Rainbow. They started talking to each other, but they were whispering, and considering Fluttershy's voice is already almost a whisper I didn't hear a thing they were saying. This is going to be a long day Authors note: I would have provided a picture of Jacob but I couldn't get any of the URL's I tried to work. Chapter 3: Equestria's a STABLE dimension. (Pun intended)Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter 4: You rode a warthog?Chapter 4: You rode a warthog? As I continued to walk towards the everfree forest I had time to think about the recent events; former imaginary-friend shows up and tells me that dimensions are real and that something is happening but I forget what it was, he gives me a device which is now somehow embedded in my body somewhere and I get sucked through a portal into a children's show that I, along with other teens and adults, are interested in for some reason. And now I'm walking towards a supposedly-dangerous forest in a cartoon world. I came to a horrid realisation at that moment, I hope this dimension isn't the fan-made one. I stop just before entering the trees to the forest and try to remember the various creatures that live inside. The HUD helpfully displays the info in my vision. The Everfree Forest Name Origin: Suspected to come from the forest's ability to operate without any external influence from ponies, which is considered 'abnormal' Danger level (based on User ability): High Dangers: Manticore Cockatrice Poison Joke (non-lethal) Timber Wolves Ursa Minor (rare) Ursa Major (rare) Well, the Manticores I can avoid, and if that fails, run for my life. And Cockatrice are only dangerous if you stare them in the eyes. Timber Wolves are most likely going to be a problem and I think the Ursa's only reside in caves...? I hope... I sighed and checked the arrows in my vision, just as I thought, still pointing straight. Well, here we go. I quietly entered the forest, instantly as I entered the tree's, the info in my vision moved around, displaying, thank god, a movement sensor. Just to be sure I threw a stone, and sure enough, it showed up as a white line streaking across the sensor. It didn't have much range however. It could only detect things close-by. By the time anything gets that close to me, I'll be screwed. Refocusing on the task at hand, I quickly got as low as I could, and snuck through the foliage, heading in the direction the arrows told me to go. About a few minutes in, I was starting to think I should have gone to karate more, my legs were aching from crouching in this low of a position for so long. On the bright side, the only thing I had encountered so far was a few snakes and the biggest spider I have ever seen, which I gave a large berth. I was nearing the site of the rift, at least the HUD was telling me so. When I started to see a purple glow, recognising the colour however I immediately groaned, "Twilight, why do you have to stay up for so long?" The glow stopped immediately as I mumbled that however, so I dropped to the ground, hoping to god that she hadn't heard me. Bugs decided at that moment that they didn't like me however, as a centipede crawled over my shoulder and greeted me with its little legs. Now, I'd never seen a centipede up close before so my first reaction was to jump and scream. However I mustered some self control. I jumped, swiped it off, and said the first thing that came to mind, "Holy sh-" I caught myself just in time, as twilight was standing right there in front of me, wings spread, Guess I know what season I'm in then. Not knowing what else to do in this situation I immediately bowed, though it was awkward as I did not know how to bow in a pony body. "What are you doing up so late, uh, I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever seen you before," Twilight asked, confused. Not one liking to be told off by people I barely know, a lump got caught in my throat, "I, uh, I'm new to Ponyville, I, I heard an explosion and I-" I was interrupted, thankfully, by the sound of metal groaning behind Twilight. We both turned to look, twilight gasped and I just stood there staring. There was a hole in the ground, inside said hole, was a sight I hadn't seen in a long time, a warthog. Sure it was upside down and almost completely crushed but it was a warthog nonetheless. The sound we'd heard was of something trying to lift the warthog, something was under it. I surprised myself by reacting quickly, though with poor results, "Twilight, there's something under it! Help me lift it!" Ignoring for now the fact I'd said her name, my horn burst to life with magic, I gasped at the feeling, but focused on trying to lift the heavy vehicle off the creature that was under it. I was hoping to god it wasn't one of the Flood or we'd have a potentially unstoppable parasitic creature to kill. Twilight, taking my lead, started to lift the warthog as well. The combined strength of both our kinetic magic, plus the creatures pushing, was enough to lift the warthog just enough for the creature to get out. Both me and Twilight gaped. It was a pony, but not just any pony. This pony was wrapped head-to-toe in Spartan Armour, I didn't know who it was, I only knew it was a spartan, and he was ponified. The HUD however, knew exactly who he was. Master Chief Species: Human (Spartan) DNA error. Species change detected: Earth Pony (Spartan) No data found on subject I didn't know much about Master Chief, only that he was the main character in one or more of the Halo games. He was here, right now, and I had to keep him sane and try to keep him from telling everyone about everything. Great, just great. "Jesus Christ, what happened, I feel like every bone in my body got shuffled in a card deck, wait, am I a-?" He noticed me and twilight at that point, twilight was still standing there, jaws wide open. I tried to keep him calm without drawing Twilights attention by mouthing the words 'Stay Calm, I'll tell you later.' which I failed miserably at, as he just stared at me for a few moments, at least I thought he was staring, hard to tell with that visor on. I facehoofed, what have I gotten myself into? Author's Note Like it says in the story, I know nothing about Master Chief except that he's the main character in one or more of the games. I couldn't even find a decent pony picture of him in armour. How am I going to describe him and stuff? So yeah, Master Chief as requested. I'm going to have my story output lowered considerably as I need to learn how he talks, his personality, how he reacts in certain situations. Basically I'm going to watch a play through of Halo. It would help a lot if you could help me with him throughout the chapters. I'd appreciate the help and even give credit. Master Chief requested by: tripledeckerbrony I thought it was well done I liked it keep up the good work! And I ld like to see some master chief in here if your willing but keep up the good work Chapter 5: So many questions Authors note: Chapter has been rewritten Chapter 5: So many questions There was a long moment where the three of us just stared at each other. Twilight's mouth was agape with shock, while Master Chief's helmet just kept pulsing with blue light. Finally, Twilight decided to break the silence, "Did that... THING just turn into a pony!? After being crushed by whatever the heck that thing is!" she gestured to the Warthog. Before I could say anything to try and calm the situation before it escalates, Master Chief decided to start asking a slew of questions, "A talking pony? That's unlike anything I've seen before. And it speaks English no less. Can you tell me what planet I'm on? Are there any parasitic or 'unfriendly' creatures nearby? And could you please explain to me why I am now Quadrupedal?" I took that chance to speak up, "Uh, I can explain all of- I mean, some of this, Twiligh- I mean Princess and uh... Whoever you are...?" Jesus, what am I, a stuttering fan? There is no way I'm going to get out of this easily... Both of them just looked at me blankly, as if they'd only just noticed I was there. "I hope I'm not being rude by asking this but, who are you? And why are you in the Everfree Forest at this hour?" Now these are questions I can answer. "Sorry Princess, my name is Jacob, I'm in the Everfree because... Well, who didn't hear that explosion? I came to investigate and..." I trailed off, not knowing what else to say. Twilight narrowed her eyes at me, making me gulp am I that bad of a liar? "Hm, well you said you could explain, so. I'm listening." Twilight waited expectantly for my explanation, Master Chief, feeling curious and wanting to know just where the heck he was, just sat there watching the exchange. "I can't talk out here, it's a bit hard to explain... Plus it's not safe..." I trailed off as Twilight narrowed her eyes at me again. "I don't know why, but I feel like I can trust you... Very well, you're right, it is not safe out here, we can talk in the Library, follow me." With that, she walked past me in the direction of the Ponyville Library, glancing back to see if we were following. I glanced towards Master Chief, only to gasp when he wasn't there! I panicked and looked for him, only to realise he was with Twilight and they were both waiting for me. I sighed, Oh thank god... and Celestia... I chuckled a little at the fact that instead of saying 'God' I would have to say 'Celestia'. I turned and followed Twilight to the library... We walked in Silence the whole way there, as there wasn't much to talk about, I was stuck in my thoughts, trying to go through a way of how I would explain this to Twilight without telling her of anything outside her dimension. I eventually settled on something, but I wasn't happy about it. I decided that the best option was to talk to Twilight and Master Chief separately to develop a story. I'd have to convince Master Chief to go with it however. And that's what I'm worried about... We arrived at the library fairly quickly, probably because Twilight knew her way around Ponyville as well as some of the Everfree Forest. Twilight just immediately walked in, but I hesitated, along with Master Chief, it wasn't a long hesitation however. Once I set foot in the library I immediately felt warmer, How the heck do they keep their houses warm without heaters or fireplaces? I shook the question out of my head, leaving it down to magic and walked up to Twilight, "I'd like to talk with him" I gestured to Master Chief, "alone first." Twilight facehoofed, much to my chagrin. "Fine, just, make it fast, I want to get an explanation for this as fast as possible so I can report this to Princess Celestia." I nodded and walked(Trotted?) over to Master Chief as Twilight trotted upstairs. He turned to me and his mood instantly dropped, I widened my eyes in surprise. "I'm extremely confused here with talking ponies on a planet I have obviously never heard of, being turned into a Pony as well and being crushed by a warthog when I was pulled through a Portal from an important mission that my team somehow escaped from. Apparently you can explain things to me and for some odd reason you want to talk to me alone, it was obvious to me before you even started talking that you knew everything about what's going on, so I want you to tell me every. Single. Detail." By the time he had finished talking I was backed up to the opposite wall and had been poked in the neck with a hoof WHICH IS PAINFUL BY THE WAY about 7 times. I was sweating up a storm and breathing hard, I'd never had anyone do this to me. "I, uh..." Everything I had thought to say had left my mind, I was completely at a loss for words, "I c-can't tell you everything, and w-what I c-can tell you obviously won't s-satisfy you, but I need you to b-bear with me." As I talked I regained my confidence, "Something extremely bad is happening and some people are trying to stop it. I can't tell you what it is, nor who the people are. But I can tell you that you can NOT tell anyone where you are from, nor about anything from where you are from. You're origin must remain secret. This also applies to everything on this planet, do not ask for the history, nor research it. Do not ask for any information on anything that is not relevant to your current situation, and do not, I repeat, do not harm anything, while you are here. The ponies are peaceful and as far as I know have never experienced unnatural death." I gaped, most of what I had just said I didn't even mean to say! That's when I noticed the flashing sign in the top right corner of my vision... Override order: Oral Override code=411849558 Override password accepted Override user: LightningClaw User message: Sorry for effectively taking control of your body but, knowing you, you'd screw it up. These were the thoughts that were flowing through my head in order: HOLY CRAP THIS THING CAN CONTROL ME!? GETITOUTGETITOUTGETITOUTGETITOUT!!!! How did he know I'd be talking to Master Chief now? GET THIS THING OUT OF MY BODY!!! Gotta calm down before I do something everyone will regret I was lost in my thoughts for so long, it took me a moment to realise Twilight was waving her hoof in front of my face and she was talking to Master Chief, "-appened?" "I don't know! I just, asked him some questions and he answered them and then he just, well, did this!" I pushed Twilight's hoof away from my face(muzzle?) which instantly got their attention, "Are you okay?" Twilight was the first to ask, not surprising seeing as it was her hoof I knocked out of the way. "Yeah, just, got lost in thought... Very lost in thought..." I answered, attempting to grin cutely, I know I succeeded when I heard a 'squee' noise, I thought that was a Non-diegetic sound! Maybe I should ask Twilight about it... Twilight sighed, "Well, as long as you're okay... Now, are you two done talking? Because i'm still expecting an explanation..." I sighed and got ready to explain, just in case though, I kept my eye on the top right corner of my vision... Author's Note Oh god, I almost made Master Chief English... What is wrong with me? Anyway, I hadn't had any time to do research so I'm just going off what I know and what I've been told. I know, it's horrible... It's going to be hard for me to come up with an explanation for everything to give to twilight. That's why this chapter is short, I wanted to make it a long chapter but i failed. I also failed in the fact that I couldn't come up with a chapter name... CREDIT FOR THE OVERRIDE CODE GOES TO THIS RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's being stubbornAuthor's Note This is a way for me to skip the talk between Jacob and Twilight as it's too hard for me to explain everything to her while keeping within the stories boundaries... Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's being stubborn Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's been busy... LightningClaw floated in the void, hand to his ear to speak to his colleagues, "Have you identified what is causing the void's collapse?" A reply was heard near instantaneously "Negative, all we can see from here is that something seems to be pushing the dimensions. They're not just drifting, it's as if they've been set on a specific path. Hold on, they're about to collide again..." A sudden onrush of static bursts through the earpiece as two of the dimensions collide. LightningClaw waits patiently for the static to subside, when it becomes possible to talk again, LightningClaw gauges the importance of the information and decides which questions would be best to pursue. "Are you telling me that something is pushing the dimensions into each other?" LightningClaw started to drift forward through the void, watching the dimensions as he passed them, it's a wonder why the dimensions are calm in some places, but are insane in others. "Affirmative, something is making the dimensions collide with each other. It seems that the dimensions are only colliding in pairs, they look as though they're actively avoiding all but the one they're colliding with." LightningClaw paused, not just because of what his colleague had said, but also because some of the dimensions around him seemed to be twitching, he stayed perfectly still, hoping that the dimensions would remain stationary, they continued to twitch for a few more moments until they finally stilled. LightningClaw let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding, if the dimensions had started to collide with him there, he ran the risk of getting crushed as he was in an area of tightly packed dimensions. Obviously he hadn't waited long enough, for as soon as he let out his breath, the dimension to his right spasmed suddenly, knocking LightningClaw towards another dimension, LightningClaw made a split-decision to enable dimension shift so when he hit the dimension he wouldn't cause it to collide with any others, instead he would enter the dimension. He just hoped it was something he was used to. He hit the dimension, phasing through its barrier, and started to fall through the sky. Quickly, he began to turn, using the wind as an aid to right himself as he pushed with his kinetic magic. Once he was righted he looked down at the ground, a bit late, "OH SHI-" he screamed, crashing into the ground and sending dirt into a cloud around him. Warning: Major trauma detected "Thank you, captain obvious," LightningClaw groaned, cursing all gods of luck that he had crashed into the planet. He put his hand up to his ear, "I had a dimensional shift, gods know what dimension I'm in now, I think I may be stranded here for a bit. I need a team to notify me when the dimensions stabilise again, I was in sector B1006," "Affirmative, sending a team to monitor the dimensions," came the reply, "Will you be okay?" "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine, closing comms," he said, flicking the switch on the earpiece, "Overlay hidden; false," immediately an overlay similar to the one Jacob had appeared in his vision, "Okay, let's see where I've ended up," kicking off the ground he swiftly rose through the air, reaching a height where he could get a good look at his surroundings. "Oh, well that's not good," he commented as he noticed the dragon flying towards him, mouth agape and obviously intending to eat him. LightningClaw braced himself in the brief second before the dragon chomped its jaws down on him. The dragon immediately started gagging, it swerved and crashed into the ground, knocking trees over and leaving a gouge in the dirt. The dragons jaws were forcefully opened, it was quite obviously unconscious. "How many times do I have to get eaten before the author decides its enough! I swear it's getting really old!" LightningClaw growled, climbing out of the dragons gullet, "At least I now have a rough idea as to where I could be," Again, LightningClaw rose into the sky, this time looking out for dragons, he was able to get a good idea as to where he was, "Yup, Skyrim, figures. What, couldn't come up with anything original?" He said, glaring up at the sky. "Shut up, stop breaking the fourth wall and continue the story," the author replied. LightningClaw sighed, before flying towards the city before him, Whiterun, "Screw this, I'm getting some mead, call me when you get something original," A nearby Khajiit, a humanoid feline, stared at the spot where LightningClaw had been for several minutes before facepalming, "I really gotta lay off the shooma... Aw who am I kidding, it's too good!" He relented, bringing a paw laden with skooma up to his face. In the last second though, a pink hoof knocked the skooma out of his paw. He turned to the owner of said hoof in disbelief, standing there was, yep, you guessed it. Pinkie Pie, she immediately said "Nope!" with a grin on her face, her hooves left the ground and she slowly began to float upwards, fading as she did so. The Khajiit watched her the entire time before she faded completely. He looked down at his empty paw, his expression incredulous, "Yup, definitely off the skooma," he said, immediately passing out. Chapter 1: The dimensions start to shiftAuthor's Note Chapter has been re-written Chapter 1: The dimensions start to shift Usually, a story would start by telling you nothing about the character and using a technique called 'foreshadowing' to get the reader to want to know what happens next.
We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
Chapter 4: You rode a warthog?Chapter 4: You rode a warthog? And I ld like to see some master chief in here if your willing but keep up the good work
Chapter 5: So many questions Authors note: Chapter has been rewritten Chapter 5: So many questions There was a long moment where the three of us just stared at each other. CREDIT FOR THE OVERRIDE CODE GOES TO THIS RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR
Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's being stubbornAuthor's Note This is a way for me to skip the talk between Jacob and Twilight as it's too hard for me to explain everything to her while keeping within the stories boundaries...
