Author's Note

This is a way for me to skip the talk between Jacob and Twilight as it's too hard for me to explain everything to her while keeping within the stories boundaries... :twilightsheepish:

Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's being stubborn

Chapter 5.5: LightningClaw's been busy...

LightningClaw floated in the void, hand to his ear to speak to his colleagues, "Have you identified what is causing the void's collapse?" A reply was heard near instantaneously

"Negative, all we can see from here is that something seems to be pushing the dimensions. They're not just drifting, it's as if they've been set on a specific path. Hold on, they're about to collide again..." A sudden onrush of static bursts through the earpiece as two of the dimensions collide. LightningClaw waits patiently for the static to subside, when it becomes possible to talk again, LightningClaw gauges the importance of the information and decides which questions would be best to pursue.

"Are you telling me that something is pushing the dimensions into each other?" LightningClaw started to drift forward through the void, watching the dimensions as he passed them, it's a wonder why the dimensions are calm in some places, but are insane in others.

"Affirmative, something is making the dimensions collide with each other. It seems that the dimensions are only colliding in pairs, they look as though they're actively avoiding all but the one they're colliding with." LightningClaw paused, not just because of what his colleague had said, but also because some of the dimensions around him seemed to be twitching, he stayed perfectly still, hoping that the dimensions would remain stationary, they continued to twitch for a few more moments until they finally stilled.

LightningClaw let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding, if the dimensions had started to collide with him there, he ran the risk of getting crushed as he was in an area of tightly packed dimensions. Obviously he hadn't waited long enough, for as soon as he let out his breath, the dimension to his right spasmed suddenly, knocking LightningClaw towards another dimension, LightningClaw made a split-decision to enable dimension shift so when he hit the dimension he wouldn't cause it to collide with any others, instead he would enter the dimension. He just hoped it was something he was used to.

He hit the dimension, phasing through its barrier, and started to fall through the sky. Quickly, he began to turn, using the wind as an aid to right himself as he pushed with his kinetic magic. Once he was righted he looked down at the ground, a bit late, "OH SHI-" he screamed, crashing into the ground and sending dirt into a cloud around him.

Warning: Major trauma detected

"Thank you, captain obvious," LightningClaw groaned, cursing all gods of luck that he had crashed into the planet. He put his hand up to his ear, "I had a dimensional shift, gods know what dimension I'm in now, I think I may be stranded here for a bit. I need a team to notify me when the dimensions stabilise again, I was in sector B1006,"

"Affirmative, sending a team to monitor the dimensions," came the reply, "Will you be okay?"

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine, closing comms," he said, flicking the switch on the earpiece, "Overlay hidden; false," immediately an overlay similar to the one Jacob had appeared in his vision, "Okay, let's see where I've ended up," kicking off the ground he swiftly rose through the air, reaching a height where he could get a good look at his surroundings.

"Oh, well that's not good," he commented as he noticed the dragon flying towards him, mouth agape and obviously intending to eat him.

LightningClaw braced himself in the brief second before the dragon chomped its jaws down on him. The dragon immediately started gagging, it swerved and crashed into the ground, knocking trees over and leaving a gouge in the dirt. The dragons jaws were forcefully opened, it was quite obviously unconscious.

"How many times do I have to get eaten before the author decides its enough! I swear it's getting really old!" LightningClaw growled, climbing out of the dragons gullet, "At least I now have a rough idea as to where I could be,"

Again, LightningClaw rose into the sky, this time looking out for dragons, he was able to get a good idea as to where he was, "Yup, Skyrim, figures. What, couldn't come up with anything original?" He said, glaring up at the sky.

"Shut up, stop breaking the fourth wall and continue the story," the author replied.

LightningClaw sighed, before flying towards the city before him, Whiterun, "Screw this, I'm getting some mead, call me when you get something original,"

A nearby Khajiit, a humanoid feline, stared at the spot where LightningClaw had been for several minutes before facepalming, "I really gotta lay off the shooma... Aw who am I kidding, it's too good!" He relented, bringing a paw laden with skooma up to his face. In the last second though, a pink hoof knocked the skooma out of his paw.

He turned to the owner of said hoof in disbelief, standing there was, yep, you guessed it. Pinkie Pie, she immediately said "Nope!" with a grin on her face, her hooves left the ground and she slowly began to float upwards, fading as she did so. The Khajiit watched her the entire time before she faded completely.

He looked down at his empty paw, his expression incredulous, "Yup, definitely off the skooma," he said, immediately passing out.
