Friends Don't Kill Friends
Before you get into the story, I wish to address some things. This is my first crack at a Fanfic, ever, so there may be some blunders and mistakes here and there. However, as the author, I will address these problems as such and eliminate them if any are found. If you spot anything that like a grammatical error, just point it out, please.
Next, I want the reader to know that this Fanfic is a crossover of both Silent Ponyville 1, (A specific alternate ending), as well as the infamous Cupcakes. If you haven't read one, the other, or both, it is recommended to help understand the plot-line of this story, and some references will be made, (However, they won't permeate the content of the fic). It's certainly not mandatory, however, but I feel that it is important I should mention this, as it does shape the plot of the story into what it is.
Lastly, this story will be disturbing to some readers, but it won't be anywhere along the lines of Cupcakes. I want the reader to embrace this with an open mind, and see this not as just another simple Grim-Dark, but as a journey of finding one's true-self in their darkest days. It will also touch on the subjects of incarceration, rape, and several other things that I may or may not add as I see fit along the progression of the story.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you will enjoy this,
Artemis Scrolls
Pinkie Pie hummed to herself joyfully, as she scooted the rug over the trapdoor, leading to the basement. Another successful harvest was complete, and everything was going as planned. Her outfit was complete, and nopony suspected her nefarious deeds. But, she was ahead of quota, and already ponies were troubled as to all the mysterious disappearances around and outside of town. She would have to abstain from killing for awhile.
Unknown, but suspected by all, this wasn't the same, happy-go-lucky party pony they once knew. Pinkie, while maintaining a bubbly attitude, was noticeably more reserved from her once extreme. . . Randomness. She was slightly more serious, and played less pranks than she had before as well. This is because a few months ago, she, the REAL Pinkie Pie, suffered from terrible, bloody nightmares. Most ponies knew this, but only one Twilight Sparkle knew the true severity of the issue. She used a spell, called the Mind Delve, to fix the issue. But Twilight didn't know what the Mind Delve did, or how it was supposed to work. Pinkie's conscience was pitted against itself, and forced to face memories that laid buried deep within her mind, the roots to her nightmares. These ghosts she couldn't laugh at. There, she met herself, or, what she thought was herself. Who she truly found was her personified, psychotic desire, a desire to kill stemmed from the witnessed murder of her own sister. Pinkie Pie never survived her encounter with Pinkamena D. Pie. The consequences of this were now all too real, and Pinkamena now ruled her. She had become what she despised.
But Pinkamena is nothing, if not clever. She understood what would happen should she be caught in one of her acts, but she had a long time in Pinkie's subconscious mind to formulate a plan. And so far, everything was going. . . okey-dokey. She left no clues behind, not even a single, curly pink hair. The ponies she took simply vanished into thin air, leaving behind confused, worried, and hurt friends and family. But none of this mattered to her now. When she saw them, she gave them some consolation, and a few jokes to turn their frowns underside down, but inside, Pinkie was really Pinkamena, and at the end of the day, she only saw them as her next victims.
She passed the time by doing what the normal Pinkie Pie used to do: hang out with her friends, plan pranks, and bake cupcakes, the next batch being a'la Rainbow Dash. Despite what one would think, it was actually pretty easy to mask the flesh of her friends in the pastries. She simply cooked it until it lost all flavor and texture of, well, meat, in large cauldron in the basement. A soaking it in syrup helped too, and it brought a smile to her face whenever one of her friends bit into one of her treats, to think they were such foals.
Looking for Bon Bon, Lyra? She's right here! She giggled to herself as she sold the green mare the gruesome treat, topped with a single candy wrapped in a bonbon.
Lyra floated a small stack of bits onto the counter, calling, "Thanks, Pinkie! Have a good one," as she trotted out of Sugar Cube Corner.
Pinkie laughed in a typically sweet, sing-song voice, "You're welcome!" Idiot.
She picked up the bits and put them in the register, before bouncing upstairs, to her bedroom. She closed the door behind her with a swift kick, and locked it, listening for the satisfying Click! that told her she had her privacy. Pinkie reached under her bed, and produced a crowbar, which she used to carefully pry open one of the old floorboards beneath her hooves. Giggling maliciously, the pink pony removed the contents from their hiding place, a notebook, a bottle of chloroform with a rag, some syringes filled with tranquilizing drugs strong enough to knock out a Manticore, and a large bag of dice which were usually used for playing the popular game Crypts & Creatures. She flipped open the notebook, revealing a list of all the ponies she knew, in and out of Ponyville, including Princesses Celestia, Luna, and Cadence, along with a number next to their names. This was how death was dealt, with a notebook and a set of gaming dice. But, before Pinkamena could roll the dice of death, there came a knock on the door. She gasped, and using Pinkie's uncanny speed, stashed away the objects and replaced the floorboard.
"Coming!" She called, hopping over to the door, and flinging it wide open, to reveal a visitor she least expected.
"Pinkie, I. . . Need to talk to you. Can I come in?" Twilight Sparkle asked, standing in the doorway with an uneasy expression.
Pinkie nodded with a smile, "Of course, silly! Come on in, have a seat! Are we planning a surprise party?! Oh, I love parties!" she gushed. Twilight cleared her throat.
"Pinkie, you're my friend, I feel like I can trust you," the lavender unicorn sighed, her horn flashing and producing a strange, black note, "But you need to tell me the truth."
The pink earth pony simply smiled, "Sure thing, Twilight! What's the note for, can I see it?" She had never seen a black papered note before, and it was strange to see such a thing. It seemed to have an aura of ominousness about it, but NOPONY knew about her schemes. They couldn't. It was impossible.
"You need to. . . You need to tell me what's going on, Pinkie," Twilight said, her eyes staring at her pleadingly, "Ever since I used that spell on you, you've been acting. . . Strangely. And ponies have started to go missing. You honestly didn't think anypony would notice? What did that spell do to you, Pinkie? You need to tell me for your own good!"
Pinkamena's smile died on Pinkie's lips, and she frowned, "What do you mean, Twilight? Nothing's wrong, I just-"
"Pinkie, don't lie to me!" Twilight shouted, suddenly on the verge of tears, "I got a letter from Princess Celestia today, and-"
A loud thump was heard downstairs, and suddenly, an armored pegasus crashed through the window, scattering broken glass across the floor. The stallion's wings had some sort of blade attached to them, and he shouted, "Halt!"
But Pinkamena was already on her hooves. She launched herself off the bed, past Twilight in an instant, dashing down the stairs. She reached into her mane on the way down, producing a kitchen knife. He mind was racing, and her heart pounded violently, adrenaline coursing through her veins, one thought echoing through her mind repeatedly nonstop:
How did they KNOW?!
When the armored unicorn stepped in her path, she automatically swung the blade. He cried out in surprise, his horn flashing as a violet-blue field of energy blocked the blow, reverberating the blow backward. She growled in anger, whipping around and bucking the shield with both hind legs, launching the blue-maned stallion down the stairs.
"PINKIE, NO!" Twilight shouted at her from the top of the stairs, eyes narrowed in sorrowful rage, her horn shining with a purple aura. The pegasus guard flew over her head and attempted to tackle the pink mare on the stairs, only to be met with the blade of her knife. Twilight's magic wrapped around Pinkie immediately, as the lavender mare gasped in shock. The damage had been done. The pegasus guard tumbled down, gasping and clutching his bleeding neck with both hooves, the offending object laying on the bottom step dripping with gore. Twilight stared, stunned as the unicorn at the bottom of the stairs checked his comrade. It was too late for the guard as blood pooled out of the massive gash that nearly decapitated im in one swing, and a foul, metallic stench began to permeate the air, making Twilight Sparkle light-headed and sick to her stomach.
Shining Armor looked up at his sister, who had frozen Pinkamena, and said quietly, "I'm sorry, Twilight. But this in an of itself is enough. I need to take her away. Celestia will be her only judge now."
The pink mare growled through gritted teeth, "Let go of me, Twilight! I thought you were my friend!"
Twilight was silent, tears rolling down her cheeks. She choked out in anguish, "Friends don't kill each other, Pinkie. We know what you've done."
Author's Note: Well, first chapter down, only more to go. I hope everyone can understand what is happening here. How Pinkamena's plot was discovered will be revealed in the next chapter! Feedback is always welcome, and feel free to review, comment, and whatnot, whether you liked it or hated it.
