After being incarcerated in the Vinculum Prison; a vast and brutal place where beings with supernatural powers are imprisoned and studied; Cyril and his two siblings are presented with freedom when a seemingly planned attack on the complex grants them and many inmates freedom. After much consideration with his brother and sister, Cyril ultimately decides on their destination. Fortune; a massive city with millions of ponies, endless opportunities, and a positive chance to start life anew.
Getting there, however, is not an easy task. An evil, superpowered entity also takes the opportunity for freedom during the attack, and continues a task he never finished: Hunting down Cyril and his siblings for reasons not even Cyril himself knows. Couple that with the Vinculum officials spreading out and searching far and wide for the escapees, and Cyril and his brother and sister are in for a tough time.
