Dinky's Drama Dilemma
Prologue
Load Full StoryCherilee sipped her tea, watching the storm outside her cabin. The weather team really outdid themselves tonight, she thought. Even if the weather unsettled her, it was beautiful. Her cabin was lit by only a candle and the occasional flash of lightning. She smiled out the window as the landscape was lit up once again. The rain was so relaxing, and her tea so warm. It would be so easy to just drift off to sleep....
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock. Slowly, she stood up and trotted to the front door. This is a really odd time for visitors, she thought. The weather team told everypony to stay inside. Standing on her doorstep was a grey mare, dripping rainwater and staring at her hooves. Cherilee recognized Ponyvilles own Mailmare instantly.
"Derpy!" She exclaimed, "You're absolutely soaked! Come inside, quickly!"
Derpy nodded and walked inside slowly, still staring at her hooves. Alarm bells were already going off in Cherilees head, she had never seen anything but a smile on the grey mares face. The teacher quickly pulled out a towel and handed it to the mailmare. Derpy began to dry off, and gave the towel back to Cherilee.Thats when the teacher first saw her face. It wasn't wet from the rain, but fresh tears.
"Is something wrong?" Asked Cherilee. She had always tried to be the pony anyone could come to for problems. She was always happy to be there for other ponies.
Derpy nodded. "It's Dinky... I just don't know what to do..." Cherilee smiled inside. She knew a thing or two when it came to dealing with foals.
"What's the problem? I'm sure I can help."
Derpy just shook her head. "There isn't a way to help her anymore..."
"I'm sure there's something I can do..."
Derpy looked the teacher in the eyes for the first time. "She's not with us anymore, Cherilee."
Cherilee was speechless. What do you say to that? The poor mare just lost her foal.
"..What happened?"
