Doctor Romana T. Colgate has always been Ponyville's dentist ever since Nightmare Moon had been stopped. She moved to Ponyville to get away from Canterlot, but also to keep in touch with her longtime friend, Twilight. However, she began to notice Twilight never visits her, nor stops to chat whenever they meet.

She takes it in stride, believing Twilight is just really busy as one of the elements of harmony, until the day after Nightmare Night. When Twilight visits her due to a strange problem with her gums, she takes it upon herself to help. Not only as her dentist, but as a friend.

Although she starts to wonder if Twilight still considers her a friend.
