Chapters Ch1: What's that doll, Rarity?
".. Applejack.. I love you."
Ponyville was as fine as ever; Princess Celestia has been granting beautiful skies to Ponyville lately, so the weather ponies had little to no work to do. The ponies in Ponyville were all peaceful; nothing bad has happened since Discord's Reign of Chaos. Pinky Pie was doing her daily check up on everypony in Ponyville, as usual.. Fluttershy was calming the animals, as usual.. Twilight Sparkle was busy practicing magic with Spike, as usual.. Rainbow Dash was testing out her new tricks, as usual.. And Applejack was bucking apples out of trees, as usual.. Everything was very organized and peaceful... Except at the Carousel Boutique. Here we join Rarity as she scrambles about her store in an attempt to finish 12 dresses by tonight.
"Oh no no no no no ! This isn't how the dress is supposed to look at all !" Rarity said while looking at the 4th dress she completed this afternoon. She glanced over at the first 3 dresses she had complete earlier that day. They were all flawlessly made, each covered in their respective birthstone they were modeled after. The 4th dress, which was to represent April's birthstone: Diamond, was proving to be a real challenge to Rarity. " Oh I am never going to finish all these dresses in time!" Rarity started scrapping the dress and decided it was best to redo the entire thing. While she was in the middle of scrapping it, Sweetie Belle walked in.
" Rarity, I'm going out with Applebloom and Scootaloo! We are going to earn our... What are you doing Rarity?" Sweetie Belle looked to see her older sister ripping up a beautiful white dress in the most un-Rarity like fashion ever. " Sis.. Are you feeling okay?"
" Yes I am fine Sweetie Belle, absolutely fine. Now hurry along, you wouldn't want to keep Applebloom and Scootaloo waiting all day for you." Rarity said, still ripping the dress to pieces.
" Yeah.. I guess you're right.. See you later!" Sweetie Belle said, running out the door. Rarity gave Sweetie Belle a quick wave goodbye, then looked back at the ruined dress.
" Okay Rarity, you can do this. Just a couple more dresses!" Rarity said, trying to boost her own confidence. She glanced over at the 3 dresses she already had made and realized she needed to complete 9 more before the day ended. " Just.... A couple more dresses.."
Rarity fell to the floor exhausted, a turquoise gem fell next to her. She had just finished completing the dress that represented December's birthstone: Turquoise. " That.. Wasn't.. So.. Bad... Now.. Was.. It.. Rarity..." Rarity panted, totally exhausted from the non-stop work. It was around 11:49 p.m, so she barely made the deadline. " Well, time for some much needed beauty sleep." Rarity said, limping to her bedroom. She turned off the lights and wormed her way into her lavender blankets. Rarity always slept on her feather bed, which was made of the highest quality feathers in all of Equestria; she couldn't imagine a night without her comfortable feather bed. When Rarity was about to fall into her much needed sleep, she realized she was missing something important; something very important to her heart.
She reached underneath her bed and pulled out a plush doll. She hand crafted this plush doll out of the finest fabric in all of Equestria ( yes, she tends to use only the finest of materials. ) Rarity stared at the doll briefly, then gave it a passionate squeeze against her cheek. She held the doll close the her until tears started to come out of her eyes. As tears soon turned to sobs, Rarity squeezed the doll even tighter.
" Oh.. Applejack.. Why can't you really be here with me.." Rarity said, staring at the plush doll of her beloved friend, Applejack. She couldn't figure out when she started to see Applejack as more than a friend, but she did realize how much Applejack meant to her. She created the doll two weeks ago, only after she was absolutely sure these feelings were genuine.
".. Is it.. Really that bad for a mare to love another mare.. Why.. Oh why can't loving another mare be normal.. Am I really not normal? Well.. Of course I'm not, I'm the most fabulous pony in all of Equestria!.. So why.. Why am I feeling like this towards another mare.." Rarity sighed, staring at the plush doll of Applejack. Rarity blushed a deep shade of red thinking about Applejack, she thought of how her smile would just make all the butterflies in Rarity's stomach flutter. She stared at the dolls emerald green eyes, just like the real Applejack's; Although they'd never compare to how beautiful and mystifying the real Applejack's were.
Rarity slowly brought the doll's muzzle towards her own. She gave the plush Applejack a passionate kiss, holding it for what seemed to be forever in Rarity's mind. She slowly pulled away from the doll's muzzle, staring into the emerald eyes. Rarity turned an even deeper shade of red, holding the doll close to her chest. What will Applejack do if she finds out my feels towards her! Oh.. What will the rest of my friends do!.. I.. I just want to be with the pony I care about the most.. I just.. Rarity stopped mid thought, crying against the top of the doll's mane. Rarity's eyes started to burn as she wiped them dry, kissing the top of the doll as an apology for getting it's mane wet. Rarity held the doll softly, but tightly against her cheek; Rarity loved the gentle feeling of the doll against her cheek, it calmed her down great deal.
After all the hard work Rarity had done today, she was exhausted. She wiped up the remainder of her tears as she snuggled with the doll. The fashionista started to fall into a deep, but peaceful slumber; thinking of Applejack, and only Applejack while she dozed off. Before Rarity fell asleep, she whispered to the doll,
".. Applejack.. I love you."

Well sorry it's a bit short, I know the direction of how I want this story to go, but I would appreciate feedback and comments! First fanfiction, so it might not be that good... Ch2: Reckon somethin's wrong with Rarity
" Goodnight, Applejack..."
Sweet Apple Acres was at one of its busiest times of the year, Cider season. This meant that all the Apples had to crank their top gears another notch. After 8 hours of non-stop bucking, Applejack was about ready to buy her own coffin. Big Macintosh noticed how tired Applejack was and gave her the rest of the day off, even though Applejack insisted on helping further. Accepting defeat, Applejack decided to see if any of her best friends were available.
" Oh, I'm sorry Applejack, I have to write this report to Princess Celestia and I CANNOT be a second too late to send it." Twilight apologized.
" Don't sweat it sugar cube, it's fine. Well I wouldn't want to be imposin' any further, I'll see you around." Applejack said, tipping her hat at her friend as she started walking off. Well let's go see how Rarity is doin'. Applejack thought, wondering if her fancy friend had any free time.
Applejack approached the Carousel Boutique, only to be interrupted by the Cutie Mark Crusaders rushing through the door and almost running straight into Applejack.
" Whoa there you little fillies, you best watch where you're headed before one of you gets hurt." Applejack scolded.
" We're sorry Applejack, we were just so excited to get our Scaring Fluttershy cutie marks!" Sweetie Belle innocently said, " Sorry about that! Anyways we have to go, see you later Applejack!" she said as the three of them ran off.
" Watch yourselves now." Applejack called after them. Them fillies are goin' to scare the livin' heck outta Fluttershy; hope they stay safe. Applejack thought. She started making her way to the entrance to the Carousel Boutique. Actually, I hope Fluttershy stays safe.
Applejack knocked on the door and heard hoof steps approaching the door; as Applejack saw the door open, she saw Rarity's head poke out and the door instantly slammed shut.
What is Applejack doing here! Oh no this is dreadful! Rarity thought. She started to fix her mane and opened the door once again.
" Applejack! I-uh wasn't expecting to meet you here.. I- I was actually on my way.. To.. Uhm.. Pick up some gems! Yes, I absolutely need gems now! Gems gems gems, you know how I like gems on my dresses don't you? Sorry, but I really have to take my leave now!" Rarity replied, panicked. She could feel the blood rush to her cheeks and ears.
" Uh.. Rar'? You feelin' alright in the noggin? You seem jumpier than a donkey in a rattlesnake den." Applejack said, " Your face is a bit red, you sure you're in the right health to be walkin' and findin' them gems?" Applejack questioned, putting her hoof on Rarity's forehead to check her temperature. Rarity's face erupted in a deep cherry red; she felt like a fire was lit on her ears and and she swallowed 10 pounds of cinnamon.
" I-I.. I really.. really need to go now! I'll chat with you later darling!" Rarity squeaked as she scurried off towards the mountain range.
" ..I guess I'll be seein' you around then?" Applejack said, watching her friend sprint off into the distance, confused.
Rarity slowed her pace after she reached the edge of Ponyville, her face still a deep red from her encounter with Applejack.
Oh why must I do this every time I see Applejack.. Rarity thought. She could only imagine how suspicious she looked when every time Applejack approached her; how she would turn red and sprint off in the other direction. I hope I don't look too mischievous..
Rarity thought she might as well go find some gems, to pass the time until she knew for certain that Applejack has left the premises of her store. She just recently confirmed her suspicions: she loved Applejack. Not love as in friendly love, the love you have for a special somepony. This was a big deal to Rarity, because although Ponyville allowed same gender marriage, it was still frowned upon by the locals. To add to that, Rarity couldn't possibly let herself be in a position where ponies would look down upon her, it was beyond her comprehension. She sighed and sat down on her flank, rubbing her two front hooves together in deep thought.
Just thinking about Applejack sends an arrow through my maiden heart.. Oh.. I wish there was someway I could find a way to channel these feelings elsewhere.. Rarity thought, as she started walking back to her store,
Wait a moment.. That's it! I shall construct a doll of the highest caliber! My very own Applejack.. Rarity let out a rather creepy smile at this thought, but then realized she must've looked insane to any pony that passed her. She quickly scanned around her store, No Applejack.. she thought, walking towards her store. She went through the front entrance and immediately sat down at her sewing machine, letting her heart sew her soon-to-be Applejack.
The rest of the Mane Six gathered at Fluttershy's cottage. After her encounter with Rarity, Applejack rounded up all her friends and decided Fluttershy's house was the best for a meeting.
" I gathered y'all here today because I noticed somethin' a tad bit odd about Rarity." Applejack said, looking at her gathered friends.
" I-I don't know what you mean Applejack.. What's going on with Rarity?" Fluttershy stammered, holding onto her beloved bunny, Angel.
" Yeah what's the big idea, interrupting my training for this meeting! Rarity is always odd, that's the kind of pony she is!" Rainbow Dash declared, " What's wrong with Rarity anyways?"
" I was gettin' to that." Applejack said, not letting Rainbow Dash's attitude get to her. " Well for the past couple of days, ever' time I see Rarity, she scurries off faster than greased lightin'."
The group was confused at what Applejack meant. Before Rainbow Dash got another sarcastic comment in, Twilight interjected. " Maybe she's just shy, come to think of it, I haven't really seen her these past few days." Twilight said in deep thought, " Maybe since you're the only one who sees her, you noticed her overall weird behavior."
" I actually saw Rarity and Rarity has been doing absolutely positively fine! I mean she said hi to me like always and I said hi back, but then I asked her if she wanted to join my 198-days-after-Gummy's-birthday-birthday party! It was the best party EVER! Well not including his 197-days-after-Gummy's-birthday-birthday party, that might have been the best one, or wait! What about his 19-" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, interrupted by Applejack.
" Yeah that's mighty nice to know, Pinkie, but if she was normal around you.." Applejack wondered, " We should probably see how Rarity is doin'." All the mares nodded their heads and made their way out the door, towards the Carousel Boutique.
" It's complete!" Rarity said, looking at her now finished plush doll of Applejack, " Oh it's perfect! " She held the doll up, staring into its emerald eyes. " Yes! " Rarity exclaimed, hopping up and down. This was exactly what Rarity needed, something to substitute for Applejack; something for her to channel her emotions towards. She decided to practice using her new outlet, " Applejack, dear.. I have something I want to tell you.. I-I..
" What'd you need to tell me, sugar cube?" Applejack said, walking through the door with her friends.
" A-Applejack! Everyone! F-.. Fancy meeting you all here! What brings you all here so unexpectedly! You know you should really knock before you enter somepony's shop!" Rarity stammered. She quickly put the doll in a drawer behind her. She turned bright red as she looked at her best friends.
" Actually, Rarity.. We did knock. We even asked if it was okay to come in and you said 'Yes!' so enthusiastically." Twilight said, staring at the newly colored Rarity in front of her. Rarity silently scolded herself, still staring at the group of friends. Applejack slowly started to approach her,
" Hey, Rar'? We were all wonderin' if there has been any problems lately?" Applejack said, concerned for her friend, " I've noticed how jumpy you've been lately. If there's anythin' we can do, we'd be glad to help, Rarity." Applejack put one of her front hooves on Rarity's shoulder. Rarity turned an even deeper shade of red as her beloved friend did this.
" N-n-nothing is wrong, dear!" Rarity said, " In fact, I have never been better! Oh, look at the time! I must finish this project I'm working on before the deadline!"
" R-rarity.. Are you sure there's nothing wrong? We'd love to help you if there is something.." Fluttershy said, poking her head out of the crowd.
" Yes yes yes, nothing's wrong at all! Don't worry about me, you silly ponies, oh you and your jokes!" Rarity said, almost seeing the smoke leave her head. " I really must start working now, so if you mares don't mind.." Rarity started pushing the ponies out the door, some how using her newly acquired strength. The strength of embarrassment. After the 5 mares left her store she quickly locked it.. Twice. Rarity fell to the floor, exhausted. " That was way too close for comfort!"
It was night time in Ponyville; Luna had given a beautiful full moon on this night. In the Carousel Boutique, Rarity was preparing her beauty sleep.
" Blankets, perfect. Lighting, perfect." Rarity said, checking if all the components that maximized the best sleeping conditions were perfect. Rarity, holding up the new plush of Applejack, slowly made her way into her blankets.
She started to feel the doll, how soft and fuzzy it felt. She starting imagining it as being the real Applejack; it felt so good. She slowly brushed its mane away from its eyes. She imagined it told her how beautiful she looked tonight, and how she wouldn't give staring into her eyes for anything.
" I wouldn't give staring into your eyes for anything, either.. Applejack.." Rarity said, holding the doll close to her heart. " Do you hear my heart beat, Applejack?... It beats only for you.." Rarity felt her heart rate increase and her eyes started to water. This is a feeling that no words could describe. The best words would be.. Happiness, sadness.. The feeling of wanting something so badly.. Rarity was hurt and so happy at the same time. She felt a sudden urge to fall asleep, asleep next to the pony she fell in love with. She slowly laid the doll next to her face, falling asleep. Right before she felt herself enter her slumber, she whispered to the doll,
" Goodnight, Applejack..."

Whew! Progression! I hope you enjoyed this chapter.. Sorry another slow one.. ~_~.. It was longer like most people wanted, and it explains most of the stuff you guys were questioning, so I hope you enjoy! Sorry for lack of Rarijack, it comes later = 3=.. Next chapter coming out soon~
Ch3: Unexpected turn of events
" I- I've actually been watchin' you.. For a long time now... I've gotta admit.. I-I've grown to be mighty fond of ya.. W-whaddya say...?"
In the Carousel Boutique, Rarity woke up next to her beloved doll. " Good morning Applejack..." Rarity yawned, getting out of her bed. She placed the doll in a diamond laced purse that she put around her back. " Is it cozy in there, Applejack?" She asked the doll. She imagined the doll saying it needed a little more air, to which she opened a slight airhole in the bag for her Applejack plush. She headed towards the kitchen, where her family was waiting for her with breakfast.
" Good morning, Rarity!" Magnum, her father, greeted. Rarity was also greeted by a smile and wave from her mother.
" Good morning, father." Rarity greeted back, " I'll be back very soon, I must deliver the dresses I had finished yesterday." Rarity said, leaving the kitchen and to her work room.
Rarity put the dresses inside a suitcase and headed towards the Canterlot Mail Service Office. She dropped off the suitcase and gave the mailman a flirtatious smile; a bad habit of hers. She turned around face to face with Applejack, who was doing some of her own personal mailing to her cousins in Manehatten. " Howdy Rarity, fancy meetin' you here." Applejack greeted.
" H-hey there Applejack!" Rarity said with a weak smile. She already felt the blood rush to her face. " What brings you here?"
" Oh ya know, just mailin' some apples to my folk back in Manehatten. You?" Applejack said, walking in the same direction as Rarity.
" I was just sending 12 dresses I had completed the night before to Fancy Pants in Canterlot." Rarity said, acting as casual as she could around the pony who made butterflies go crazy in her stomach. Rarity looked at Applejack and thought about her nights spent with the plush doll, how she practiced asking Applejack out to dinner many times, and of course, never being rejected once. This sparked something in Rarity, a desire. She wanted to have dinner with Applejack right now; no, she needed it. Just act casual, like nothing is wrong. Yes, just a friend asking another friend to dinner, that's all. This was a lot easier said than done. Rarity looked at her friend, a bead of sweat fell from her mane. " Hey, Applejack.. I-I was wondering.. If maybe, just maybe.. Y-You know.." Rarity stammered.
" If maybe what? Rar' you sure you're alright?"
" I-I'm fine.. I was just wondering.. If.. Well you know, if maybe.. Just maybe.. You'd like to go to dinner with me..?" Rarity asked, her face now a deep red. She was practically sweating; she felt her mane start to itch. The lovestruck mare stared into Applejack's eyes, waiting for an answer. She will say no, won't she? But wait, she might just think it's a friendly gesture and say yes! Or will she take it the wrong way and reject me.. Rarity thought, her head hurting at this point.
" Well, I'd love to go Rar'! Tonight a good night for ya?" Applejack asked, smiling at her friend. Rarity practically fainted after hearing the good news.
" Tonight is absolutely perfect!" Rarity said, over-enthusiastically. She was so relieved to know that Applejack agreed to go on a date with her, although she knew it might only be a friendly gesture. After the sudden burst of adrenaline, Rarity decided to step it up a notch. " Instead of a restaurant, how about coming over to my shop for dinner?" Rarity said, confident that after this night, she would earn some Applejack love points.
" That sound's mighty nice, Rarity!" Applejack said, relieved as well, but for a different reason. She was glad to see her friend acting a bit more normal now; in the previous few weeks, she noticed Rarity acting like she had a couple loose bolts in her head. " How about I head out at 8:15? I reckon that's a good time to enjoy a feast with you."
" O-of course! That would be just perfect! " Rarity said, already planning on the menu and her dress selection for this night. This being said, Applejack smiled and tipped her hat, heading off towards Sweet Apple Acres; leaving Rarity to stare at the now leaving Applejack. She watched Applejack's mane and body reflect the sun; how stunning she looked! She saw her tied up mane sway from side to side; It made Rarity want to tackle her down and start kissing the clueless cowpony. After, and only after Rarity couldn't see Applejack any longer, she started to head back towards to Carousel Boutique.
The clock struck 8:10 as Rarity was making the final adjustments to her feast with Applejack. She made sure the lighting was perfect, it couldn't be too dim for her not to see Applejack's eating face, but it couldn't be too bright to ruin the atmosphere. She made sure the table and seat placement was spot on; nothing was going to go wrong tonight. She floated the food she had cooked onto the table. Tonight's appetizer was Oat Hay-Mozzarella Sticks, with assorted salad and carrot soup; the entrée of tonight's dinner was fancy Barley-Spaghetti Noodles and Meatball with Oat sticks on the side; and finally the desert was a sweet Molichaff haycake. Rarity quickly made sure her dress looked nice and double checked her makeup for any imperfections. She knew Applejack would be awestruck when she saw how beautiful she looked tonight. A sudden realization occurred for Rarity; this dinner was with Applejack! She quickly developed a red tint to her face and started sweating. Okay, calm down Rarity. You must act calm and collected for Applejack! This is nothing more than a friendly date to her, yes. Nothing more than a friendly date to her.. Rarity's heart sank, losing the red tint to her face. She grabbed the doll that was lying on the counter.
" Applejack.. I-Is it really just a friendly get together to you?" Rarity asked the doll. She imagined it telling her how it wanted her to think that way so Rarity wouldn't find out about its feelings. " Oh Applejack! There's no need to hide your feelings from me darling.. You'll always be my everything.. My number one.. You don't have to hide anymore." Rarity started to make her way towards the doll's lips, but then she heard a knock coming from the door,
" I'm here, Rarity!" Applejack called through the door.
" C-coming!" Rarity said, putting the doll inside of a drawer. She answered the door and saw Applejack. Applejack was not wearing anything fancy tonight, just her trademark hat she always wore. This made Rarity feel uncomfortable, like she was the only one who was excited for tonight's feast. " How are you doing on this fine evening, Applejack?" Rarity asked, maintaining a 1 foot radius away from Applejack. She knew one touch would cause her to lose her cool, and nothing, nothing was going to ruin this night for Rarity,
" Howdy, Rar'! I'm doing mighty fine, thanks! Fancy lightin' you got in here, almost like one of 'em fancy restaurants." Applejack said as she headed towards the table. " Well shall we get started?"
" O-of course Applejack! Here, let me get that seat for you.." Rarity said, pulling the seat out for Applejack to sit on. Applejack gave a smile in return, a smile that made Rarity almost lose her cool. Rarity, keep your cool! You absolutely can not ruin this night for yourself! Rarity thought, making her way towards her own seat. As the two of the sat down, they started to eat.
" You know, Rarity, these past couple of weeks I kept thinkin' about how you were actin'; I thought it was mighty suspicious. I always thought somethin' was up, but I guess I was over thinkin' things. I'd like to apologize for doubtin' ya." Applejack said, lifting her head from the Spaghetti.
" Oh no no no, you don't have to apologize, darling. I have to admit I have been under a lot of stress lately, I'm sorry for not telling you and the others." Rarity said, apologetically. At least it's not completely a lie.. Rarity thought to herself.
" If there's anythin' you need help with, don't hesitate to shout. I'll be by Sweet Apple Acres like I always am." Applejack said, continuing on the meal. The reassurance and reliability in Applejack's voice made Rarity turn a cherry red. She felt her words stick in her throat as she took a sip of water.
" I-I'll keep that in mind, thank you Applejack." Rarity said, trying to calm herself. She started to look at Applejack, who was eating without silverware. She stared at the tomato sauce on Applejack's muzzle, watching it drip down her cheek as she licked it up with her tongue. Strangely enough, the noises Applejack made by chewing made Rarity's heart flutter. She watched the Barley noodles escape down her throat; going down through her chest and through her stomach. She looked back up and saw Applejack drinking water; some of the water made its way down the side of Applejack's mouth, making a wet trail along her neck as it trailed down to her stomach. Rarity's heart skipped a few beats watching all this occur, almost forgetting about her own meal, she continued eating as well.
" Hey.. Rar'?" Applejack said, looking up at her friend. Rarity stopped eating and looked up at her friend. " There's.. Somethin' I wanna tell you.." Rarity nearly dropped the silverware she was holding. This was it! This was the confession Applejack was going give like she imagined so many times. Taking a big gulp, Rarity answered,
" Y-yes, and what would that be?"
" It's kinda embarrassing.. I-I don't exactly know how to say this, Rar'.." Applejack said. At this point Rarity was about to faint, the suspense was too much for her. She felt her face turn bright red, feeling her ears burning up as well. She tried breathing but found it hard to. " C-..... So I wa-....... -eet Appl-....... -mrow?" Rarity's head was going blank, she saw the hazy figure of Applejack turn red and soon it was all darkness.
Rarity awoke the next morning on her feathery bed, covered neatly in her lavender blanket. She got up and took a moment to remember what had happened the night before. The sudden realization came to her, Applejack was going to confess to me!! Rarity's face erupted in a deep red; she started trying to recollect herself. She guessed that Applejack carried her back to her room when she collapsed; thinking about this only worsened the blushing. Okay, okay think Rarity.. What did Applejack tell you last night? Rarity said, trying to piece together what Applejack said before she fainted in the previous night. All she could make out was "Sweet Apple Acres." Maybe she was going to confess to me there! Rarity, overly excited by this, ran and got her Applejack plush and kissed it multiple times. " It was really nice being with you, but soon I'll have the real Applejack! I'm sorry, but there's just no room for two.. You understand, right dear?" Rarity imagined the doll saying how it understood and how it was happy for Rarity. Rarity softly placed the doll in the trash can as she made her way to the only place she could think of, Sweet Apple Acres.
As she arrived there, she looked at the barn. She started imagining how Applejack would sleep and shower in that exact place she was looking at. She shook her head to avoid the early blushing, for she knew she would do plenty of that when Applejack would confess to her a second time. She started walking towards the barn until 4 hooves clasped onto her and pulled her into a nearby bush.
" MMMM!" Rarity shrieked, only to have her mouth be covered up by a hoof. There, looking down at her, was her four friends.
" Shhh! You'll give our position away!" Rainbow Dash whispered, letting go of Rarity's mouth.
" What is the meaning of this! I have some very important business with Applejack!" Rarity exclaimed softly. She looked around and saw the rest of her friends staring out a little opening in the brush.
" We all do, Rarity. Applejack told us about it too." Twilight said, looking at her friend. Rarity turned red, but it was covered by the darkness of the bush.
" S-she told you about it too?" Rarity blushed at the idea. Applejack told our friends about how she was going to confess to me? she thought about this deeply, and strangely it made her happy. She looked at her friends, who were all looking through the opening in the brush.
" O-of course she told us, we are all her friends.." Fluttershy softly said, still maintaining her gaze out the opening. Rarity now felt slightly guilty about not telling them about her feelings towards Applejack. Before she could apologize and confess, Pinkie Pie interrupted loudly.
"She's doing it she's doing it!!!" Rarity was confused, making her way towards the opening.
There she saw Applejack standing by an unfamiliar colt. Her heart stopped. Twilight shushed all the whispering going on and they listened as Applejack said in the distance,
" I- I've actually been watchin' you.. For a long time now... I've gotta admit.. I-I've grown to be mighty fond of ya.. W-whaddya say...?"

Ch4: Love's determination

Rarity couldn't believe what she was seeing. D-did Applejack just.. She felt her eyes starting to burn, tears slowly made their way down her cheeks and onto the ground. No, this is a lie. This can't be happening. She immediately ran off, not looking back at her friends who were probably staring at her. I'm so stupid! Of course Applejack didn't love me.. Of course she didn't... Now that I think about it, there wasn't any signs that would've led me to think that.. But.. Why did this have to happen? Rarity slowed to a stop in front of the Carousel Boutique, tears blinding her vision. She entered through the door and sat down on the nearest chair.
" What did I do to deserve this?.." Rarity asked, " Am I really.. Not allowed to fall in love?" She started to cry even more, her heart couldn't take the pain. She rolled over on the ground in despair, sobbing. Soon the sadness turned to anger; Why is this happening to me?! Rarity thought, the unfairness of the situation got the best of her. All she did was love her friend, why did she deserve such a cruel punishment?
Rarity started to ravage at whatever was in front of her, knocking over mannequins and ripping up expensive fabrics. After a few minutes of her rampage, she fell over to the ground, crying all the while. She glanced over at the destruction she caused; everything was ruined. There was not a single thing that wasn't destroyed in this chaos. She looked at the tipped over trash can and remembered what was inside. She slowly made her way towards the trash can and lifted the lid.
There laid the Applejack doll, as good as new. Rarity's eyes started to flood with tears, which stopped the burning in her eyes. She held the doll tightly and fell to the floor. " Applejack.. Applejack.." That's all Rarity could muster up to say. She opened her eyes and brought the doll close to her face, " Why did you do this, Applejack? I loved you, I only loved you.. I never thought about any pony but you.." Rarity brought the doll's lips to her own, kissing it with a mix of sadness and passion. She slowly released the doll when she heard a sound behind her. She quickly turned around and saw Applejack, her own tears in her eyes, standing by the door.
" U-... Uh sorry.. About intrudin'.. I just wanted to let you know... What happened.... You know.. With the confession I mentioned during dinner?" Applejack said, unable to comprehend what just happened. Rarity looked at her in horror,
How long has she been there? Oh no.. Why do bad things always happen to me.. Rarity thought, clenching the doll tightly, still lying on the ground. She couldn't answer her.. She couldn't lie to the pony who she loved the most; she couldn't bring herself to tell her about how they eavesdropped on her confession.
" R-.. Rarity.. What in the hay just happened?.. I-I heard some loud noises when I came in and when I did.." Applejack cut herself off, not wanting to describe what she had just witnessed. She looked down at Rarity, who was still crying and clenching what seemed to be a doll of herself. Rarity tried to answer her, but no words came out. She was speechless, unable to move. " I-.. I think I should be goin' now.." Applejack said, running off into the distance with her hat covering her eyes. Rarity stared at her beloved Applejack run away, still holding onto the doll. Everything was over in Rarity's mind. She tried her best to stop crying.
Everything is over, absolutely over. She found out my feelings towards her... Everything is over. Rarity repeated in her mind. She didn't think about anything else from this point on, not Applejack, not Sweetie Belle, not any of her friends. She just wanted to leave. She went upstairs to her room and started packing, leaving only the doll behind.
Well I wasn't exactly expecting that response.. Applejack thought, lying down on her steel spring bed. She had just confessed to a colt that she fell in love with earlier that month. She couldn't get the words out of her head, Sorry, I don't like country folk like yourself. Applejack's eyes began to string, remembering those words.
She rolled over on her bed, now thinking about what happened with Rarity. I didn't know.. Rarity thought of me like that; heck, I really had no clue.. Applejack thought, processing what just happened. And that doll.. It looked exactly like me! Down to the mane and tail bands! Applejack couldn't help but wonder why Rarity was attracted to her, out of all the colts and mares she could've been with. Applejack sighed, taking a moment to think deeply about her friend Rarity. I guess that explains her behavior around me.. Applejack thought, wondering what that frilly dilly pony saw in her.
I mean, fancy folk like her enjoy clean and organized things.. Heck, I'm the total opposite! What is going on through that crazy pony's mind. Applejack thought, wondering if the phrase "opposites attract" really was true. As the Element of Honestly, she couldn't try to lie to herself about her feelings towards Rarity. She wanted to make her friend happy, but couldn't find a reason to fall in love with her. She started thinking about Rarity deeply now, thinking about all the small details. She thought about how her blue, starry eyes, how they shined when she entered a room. She thought about her long, curled up purple mane, how it was so elegantly-...
Yeah, she couldn't do it. She groaned and shoved her face into her pillow, searching for a good solution. She felt herself falling asleep, slowly getting more and more tired. She let herself fall asleep, hoping that maybe a good rest would spark some inspiration.
Rarity walked out of the Carousel Boutique, all her valuables packed. She looked back at the Carousel Boutique, thinking of all the memories she had in Ponyville. Tears started to appear in her eyes as she dropped her suitcase. I don't want to leave my friends.. Rarity thought, crying now. I don't want to leave my family.. I don't want to leave Applejack.. Rarity slowly regained her composure as she wiped her eyes dry; she started to think about Applejack now. I can't leave her.. Rarity thought, " I can't leave her.." Rarity said, now thinking out loud. " I CAN NOT LEAVE HER!" Rarity shouted, running off towards the only place she could think of: Sweet Apple Acres.
Rarity soon found herself at the entrance of the barn, panting from the non-stop run here. She snuck through the door and started approaching Applejack's bedroom. She felt her face getting hot as she put her hoof on the doorknob. She shook it off roughly and opened the door. There lay Applejack, sprawled across her mattress in a very relaxed pose. Rarity stood by the side of the bed, staring at Applejack. Her knees felt weak, her mouth started to become dry, her face started to redden, but she held her ground. She grabbed Applejack's face between her two front hooves, waking up Applejack in the process.
" What in the hay are you doin', Rarity?! Why are you in my room?" Applejack asked, her face slightly turning red because of how close Rarity's face was to hers. Rarity continued to stare at Applejack, swallowed, and screamed,
" A- Applejack! I-I.. Lo-... I.. l-love you!" She was about to collapse in embarrassment, face flushed, but she kept her ground, staring straight into Applejack's eyes. " I-I was planning on leaving Ponyville.. For good.. But I couldn't! I simply could not.. I didn't want to.. H-how could I leave you, Applejack? I can't get you out of my head, I just can't! .." Rarity said, tears starting to form in her eyes. Applejack's face was flushed, getting progressively more red. She was speechless, not knowing what to say to her friend that stood in front of her.
" Y-you really are selfish.. You know that?" Rarity sobbed, still holding Applejack's face between her hooves, " You steal my heart and you.. You confess to that stupid, moronic, ugly, unintelligent colt!" Rarity yelled, trying to maintain her stare as tears blurred her vision. " How could you.. How could you Applejack.." Applejack didn't know what to do, she wanted to do something to make her best friend stop crying.
Applejack grabbed onto Rarity and hugged her tightly, tighter than she has ever hugged a pony before. For an odd reason, she felt her ears burn along with her cheeks. Was it because of the speech Rarity had given earlier? She didn't know. " Rarity, don't cry anymore, alright? You're a big mare now. If ya don't stop cryin' I'm gunna have to squeeze the tears outta you." Applejack whispered to Rarity.
Rarity, her heart rate skyrocketing, held Applejack as well. She almost rivaled Applejack's strength, holding onto her tightly. Rarity didn't think about anything, her mind going blank. The only thing that was in her mind was Applejack. Applejack. Applejack. Rarity looked over her shoulder and saw Applejack's red face, S-she's embarrassed? Rarity thought, still holding onto Applejack. She rubbed her cheek against Applejack's shoulder, never wanting to stop. She never felt happier in her life, being embraced by the pony she loved the most.
" I'm mighty sorry for being inconsiderate, Rar'... I didn't know you felt that way until it was too late.. I apologize for being so dense." Applejack said, trying not to take a peak at Rarity's face. Applejack wondered if she was thinking of her friend in a different light; not hesitating one moment. She quickly whispered to Rarity,
"... Rar'.. Let's be together.. Alright?"

Ch5: Extraordinary Occurrence
Oh boy.
Applejack laid on her bed, staring up at her ceiling. She didn't sleep the night before; she was up all night thinking about the recent events that just took place. Applejack's desire to make Rarity happy overruled her honesty last night, making her do something rash. I can't believe I asked Rarity to be together with me! I even promised myself I would cheer Rarity up without resortin' to lyin'. Applejack thought, maintaining her stare at the ceiling. She remembered staring into Rarity's eyes as she pulled apart from their embrace and ran out of Applejack's room.
Applejack cursed at herself, scolding herself for acting on impulse. I promised myself long ago that I would stay honest and truthful no matter what the situation is, and I just broke that promise. She put her hoof over her face, wishing there was a rewind button. She started to wonder about her feelings towards Rarity during the previous night. She knew she felt something for Rarity, but didn't know exactly what it was. She felt something strong, something very heart warming when she thought of Rarity, something she didn't feel before Rarity approached her last night. She noticed none of the feelings and emotions she had towards Rarity had carried over to the next day, leaving her to regret her decision. At least I wasn't really lyin' to her; I swore I felt something towards that crazy pony last night. Applejack let out a long sigh; she got up and decided to get her mind off the topic of Rarity. She put her signature hat on and was ready to help do chores around the barn.
" I wonder what's gunna happen now.." Applejack wondered aloud, walking out of her room.
Back at the Carousel Boutique, Rarity sat on her bed, also suffering from the lack of sleep the previous night. She confessed. She told me she wanted us to be together! Rarity sat there, not knowing how to react to the wonderful news. She quickly stood up and went to her "organized chaos" work room. It's funny how life works, Rarity thought, Just yesterday I was so heartbroken about Applejack.. Who would've thought that she loved me all along! Rarity entered her work room, but was suddenly approached by Sweetie Belle, the Applejack doll in her mouth.
" Hey Rarity! Look what I found! It looks just like Applejack!" Sweetie Belle squeaked, holding up the doll in front of Rarity's shocked face.
" W-w-w-w-where'd you get that Sweetie Belle?" Rarity stuttered, trying to remember where she misplaced her doll.
" Well, it was just lying on the floor by the entrance. Uh, is it yours Rarity?" Sweetie Belle asked, still holding the doll in her mouth.
" Ye-, well no.. W-well... It's.... It's a gift to Applejack! Yes indeed quite, a gift to Applejack! I need it back right away Sweetie Belle." Rarity said, snatching the doll from Sweetie Belle's mouth. " Now hurry and go off and play with your friends, your big sister is very busy. Hurry, off you go." Rarity said, pushing the confused Sweetie Belle out of the room. As she closed the door, she sighed, tossing the doll towards the center of the room.
Rarity had an idea. She used her magic and floated a piece of paper and quill to her. She decided to create the perfect dress for the next time she saw Applejack; after all, she didn't want to make her new marefriend think of her as anything less than perfection. She started furiously sketching ideas, thinking of nothing but Applejack in her mind.
Applejack was exhausted after finishing all her chores. She noticed that she finished in record time; having the rest of the afternoon to herself. She wiped the sweat off her forehead and decided to see Rarity with her free time; hoping that seeing her would revamp her feelings from the previous night and diminish the guilt in her heart. She headed towards Carousel Boutique, only to be interrupted by Sweetie Belle as she left the farm entrance.
" Oh hey Applejack!" Sweetie Belle said, trying to recruit Applebloom for another CMC adventure.
" Well howdy, Sweetie Belle." Applejack replied, tipping her hat at the young filly. " If your lookin' for Applebloom, she's in the kitchen with Granny Smith."
" Thanks!!" Sweetie Belle squeaked, walking past Applejack and towards the kitchen. She turned around and faced the waving Applejack. " Rarity has a big surprise for you, you'll love it!" Sweetie Belle said, walking off in the distance.
I wonder what she means by surprise.. Applejack thought as she galloped to Carousel Boutique. On her way there, she decided to buy some deserts for her new "marefriend". Applejack still didn't quite know what was going on through her mind when she asked Rarity to be her special somepony. Cheering Rarity up was the only thing on her mind, so the second she felt just a little bit of affection towards Rarity, she threw it out there. " Such a stupid mistake I made.. I just wish there was some way to break it to her that I don't feel the same emotions I felt last night." Applejack thought aloud, heading towards Sugarcube Corner.
" Hey APPLEJACK!!!" Pinkie Pie shrieked as Applejack walked through the door, jumping in surprise.
" Howdy Pinkie.. What has you all riled up?" Applejack asked, wondering what the sudden outburst was about.
" Oh its nothing, I was just happy to see you! Well I'm happy to see ALL my friends but you were the only one who showed up so I was happy to see you, but I don't mean you aren't my BEST friend, you are my best friend you know that? Well you are one of my best friends so that makes me even MORE happy too see you!" Pinkie Pie said, staring at her friend who was holding her ears.
" Well that's very nice of ya, Pinkie." Applejack replied, trying her best to keep her friend from talking. " So I was wonderin' if I could have a nice cake for R-" Applejack stopped herself, not sure if she could tell Pinkie about her and Rarity.
" A nice cake for who?"
" U-uh.. A relative." Applejack lied, scrunching her nose and averting her eyes. Pinkie Pie may be very random and weird, but she wasn't dumb. She picked up on Applejack's lie immediately.
" Who is it for, Applejack?" Pinkie Pie said, getting progressively closer to Applejack. She winced one eye at Applejack, trying to pry the answers out of her.
" I-It's for a long lost relative o' mine. Nothing more nothing less." Applejack stated with a weak smile, trying her best to fool the pink pony who was confronting her. Pinkie Pie gave her one last stare and backed away slowly.
" Okie Dokie Lokie..." Pinkie Pie said, walking back behind the counter. "So.. What kinda of cake would you like, Applejack?"
" The best one ya got in stock; and make it quick. I haven't got much time to dilly dally." Applejack answered, walking up to the counter now.
" Well this one is really good; here, take it!" Pinkie Pie said, grabbing a box out of the display case. " No bits needed, friend's discount." Pinkie Pie finished, smiling.
" Well, that's mighty generous of ya, Pinkie. Thanks a bunch, I'll see you around later!" Applejack said, walking out the entrance with the box in her mouth. As the door closed, a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane came up from under the counter.
" D-did she notice me..?" Fluttershy asked Pinkie, who was staring right at her.
" Of course not!" Pinkie said, giving Fluttershy a quick peck on the lips," No pony will ever find out about us !"
Rarity sat down in exhaustion, looking up at her half completed dress. She was proud of what she had created, but she couldn't get ahead of herself. She needed Applejack's approval before the dress could be considered "perfection." She got up and decided to take a break from the almost-completed dress. Thinking of something to do, Rarity decided to surprise her new marefriend with a nice sweet cake. She walked out the entrance and towards Sugarcube Corner.
On her way there, she started to think about the previous night. It started to become hazy in her mind, like the events that occurred really didn't happen. It was too unrealistic for Rarity to think that her body was so close to Applejack's. The feeling of Applejack's warm body pressed against her's was indescribable. Rarity's face started feeling hot when she was thinking about this.
She started to think harder about what had happened the night before since her memory was abnormally foggy. She remembered Applejack's tone when she asked her if they wanted to be together. It was so sincere, but there was something odd about it; Rarity couldn't figure out what it was. Quickly shaking off the thought, she proceeded on her way towards Sugarcube Corner to buy her special somepony a delicious surprise.
" H-hey there, Rarity.." Fluttershy greeted as Rarity walked through the entrance of Sugarcube Corner.
" Why hello there Fluttershy," Rarity replied, " Why are you behind the counter?"
" W-well you see.. Pinkie Pie told me to watch over the store while sh-.. Eep!" Fluttershy squeaked, turning a very vivid shade of red. Rarity tilted her head, confused at the sudden interruption and started to make her way towards the counter.
" Is something wrong, Fluttershy?"
" N-no! Ev- Ahh.. Mmng.. verything is alright!" Fluttershy stuttered, her face turning more and more red. " Don't come closer!!" Rarity stopped half way to the counter, bewildered at why Fluttershy was so against her approaching the counter.
" Are you sure you're alright, Fluttershy? You seem quite distraught."
" I- Mmm! I'm alright! W-what brings you here?"
" Well I wanted to purchase a nice sweet treat as a gift." Rarity said, trying to ignore Fluttershy's red face and strange behavior. Fluttershy nodded and pulled a large white box from underneath the counter.
" H-heres a nice Mont Blanc cake.. Free of charge.. I'm sure the person you are giving it to will enjoy it a lot.." Fluttershy said, tossing the box to Rarity. Rarity had a hard time catching it; she wondered why Fluttershy had to throw it instead of handing it to her.
" Thank you!" Rarity said, walking out the entrance with the box in her mouth. I wonder why Fluttershy was acting so odd.. Rarity thought, heading back towards Carousel Boutique. Back in Sugarcube Corner, a familiar pink pony popped out from under the counter, a big smile on her face.
" P-pinkie.. Why did you do that?" Fluttershy asked, her face still cherry red. " My thighs aren't a place for you to kiss, especially not when we could've gotten caught!" Fluttershy said sternly, her face turning more red.
" Hey, it's not my fault Rarity decided to walk in while I was kissing you. And besides, I don't hear you squeal like that when I kiss your lips!" Pinkie Pie said, smiling at Fluttershy.
Applejack approached the fashion store where Rarity lived, Carousel Boutique. She put the cake on the ground and knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer. After waiting a couple of minutes, Applejack decided to try her luck with the doorknob; it opened.
" Rarity?" Applejack called through the open door, " I got a little somethin' for ya!" Applejack picked up the cake and walked into Carousel Boutique. She placed the cake on the nearest table she could find and started to explore. That pony wouldn't mind if I just explored her place a bit, after all, we are marefriends. Applejack thought, walking around the store. Everything was perfectly tidy and organized; a polar opposite of what the barn back at home was like.
She approached a door that was slightly ajar and peeked inside. The room was a complete mess! What in the hay? That pony has such a perfectly clean and tidy house; I didn't think a room like this could exist in such a place. Applejack thought, creaking the door open. She studied the room very closely, she saw cloth hanging from the ceiling and quills stuck to the ground.
She was looking at the floor when something caught her eye. She walked towards the center of the room and found the doll Rarity had been holding when Applejack caught her the previous day. Well this is certainly accurate.. Applejack thought, holding the doll closer to her eyes to inspect the details. It even has my freckles! Applejack noticed she was blushing quite a bit at the thought of a pony putting so much effort into creating a doll that resembled her. She was inspecting the doll when something peculiar happened. The doll's button eyes lit up a bright emerald green.
" What in tar-nation?" Applejack said in surprise, throwing the doll on the ground. She stared in awe as the doll's eyes continued to emit a bright green light. She bent over to look at the doll closely. She stared at the glowing green eyes for a while and decided to inspect it closer. She extended a hoof towards the doll and picked it up. She examined the doll's face, holding it closely so she could observe the glowing green eyes better. " Why the hay is this doll's eyes lightin' up? Is this part of its design or somethin'?" Applejack wondered, holding the doll even closer.
In a bright flash of light, Applejack felt herself being sucked into something, seeing nothing but darkness. She couldn't tell if her eyes were closed or if it was just too dark for her to see anything. She saw a bright light emerge in front of her and when she came to, she was staring at the ceiling. She tried to rub her eyes but found her hooves unresponsive. She tried to move all of her body parts, but it was all futile; she couldn't move. She noticed the room was much bigger and was at a awkward perspective, like she was laying on the ground. She realized something wasn't right and using her peripheral vision, she saw that the door looked enormous.
Okay, somethin' is DEFINITELY wrong here Applejack, just calm down and take a moment to process what's going on. Applejack thought, trying to get an idea of what was happening. She couldn't rotate her head, but glancing down she could see the edge of her body. It was a doll's body, but to be more precise, the Applejack doll's body. She quickly pieced together what had just happened to her.
Oh boy.

Rarity gave a displeased frown to Big Mac when he told her about the absence of his sister. She couldn't imagine where Applejack would run off to, especially after what had happened the previous night. She decided to head home to put the Mont Blanc in her refrigerator.
" Thank you for telling me that she wasn't around, Big Mcintosh." Rarity said, giving Big Mac a quick smile and heading off in the other direction.
" Eeyup." Big Mac said, turning around and started back on his chores. Ah wonder where Applejack could've gone to. If she's not with 'er friends then Ah haven't got the slightest clue as to where she could be. I hope she's okay. Big Mac thought, adjusting the plow on his back. Rarity started to walk back to her shop, thinking something similar to what Big Mac was thinking.
Oh well, I guess she's her own independent pony.. No point in me worrying what she's doing.. Rarity thought, trying to push all doubts of Applejack with another colt, or mare out of her mind. She headed back towards Carousel Boutique, thinking of where to search for her beloved mare next. She approached the store with a frown, setting the cake down next to the entrance. The door was slightly open; she tried to remember if she left it like that or somepony broke in. She quickly recalled herself leaving without locking the door because she was a little too excited to buy Applejack a surprise. Mentally yelling at herself for her silly actions, she took the cake and entered her store; with caution.
" Hello? Is anypony in here?" Rarity called out, knowing there was no pony in Ponyville that would possibly steal anything, much less break into her home. It's probably just Sweetie Belle forgetting to close the door behind her.. Rarity thought, putting herself at ease. She grabbed the cake with her mouth and entered the fashion store. She locked the door and glanced over at something peculiar, a white box.
She set her own cake box down in curiosity, examining the foreign one further. " Now I wonder who could have possibly left this here?" Rarity asked herself, opening the box. Inside the box was a beautiful heart shaped cake with red frosting; there was a small poem written with icing in the center.
" You in my life
Will live eternally
I knew the first night we met
You were meant for me. "
Rarity's heart skipped a beat as she reread this short poem, knowing that only the love of her life could've left this present for her. Tears of joy quickly flooded Rarity's eyes as she started to search for her beloved, whom she pieced together was the culprit of the little breaking and entering event. She searched the kitchen, her bedroom, and the attic. Having had no luck, she proceeded to her idea room. She saw that the door was fully open, and she tried to recall if she had left it that way. My dearest Applejack must be in here! Rarity thought after remembering that she clearly closed the door behind her. She started to skip into the room;
" Oh Applejack~ " Rarity said in a playful tone, " I got your little cake~ Come out come out where ever you are!" She glanced around the room and saw no pony in the premises; frowning, she walked towards the center of the room where a certain doll was laying.
Oh boy Applejack thought, trying her best not to panic. The situation she was in would seem to the average pony as impossible and magical, but she has seen Discord do some nasty pranks and seen ponies get turned into trees and various animals. She started to think about what had happened to her. Okay Applejack, let's see. I got placed into Rar's doll of me. Alright, let's see what else we know. I can still see clearly, but I can't seem to move any of my body parts, nor blink. I'm not too sure if I can hear things, but I'll assume I can. Applejack analyzed the situation she was in thoroughly, trying to get a hang of the entire situation. One thing she couldn't place her hoof on was why she got sucked into the doll in the first place. As she was thinking of this, she saw a certain fashion pony skipping in the room, a smile going from ear to ear.
" Oh Applejack~ " She heard Rarity sing, putting her suspicions of her not being able to hear to a rest. " I got your little cake~ Come out come out where ever you are!" Applejack saw Rarity disappear to the left of her, pacing around the room.
I wonder why she's so happy about a simple cake that I picked up.. Applejack thought, seeing Rarity circle to the right of her vision. She saw Rarity stop right in front of her , leaning down at the doll. Without notice, Rarity picked up the doll with her two front hooves and held it up to her face. If the doll could blush, it would be right now. Intensely.
R-rarity is a bit.. Too close.. Applejack thought, unable to look away in embarrassment. Rarity stared straight into the doll's eyes, unaware that her beloved was trapped inside the lifeless plush doll.
" Thank you, Applejack.. The cake, the poem, everything was simply amazing.." Rarity said, sitting on the floor, still staring at the doll.
What poem? What kind of cake did Pinkie give her anyways?
" I just wish you wouldn't have left without telling me.. I have a cake also! I went by the barn and Big Mac told me how you weren't there.. So I came home and found your cake.." Rarity said, tossing the doll on her back as she stood up. " Well, I'll see you soon my dear! I have to do some shopping now, want to come along?"
Rarity made her way towards her bedroom as she continue speaking. " I know I told you that there wouldn't be room for two of you.. But I guess when I'm not with the real Applejack, I get lonely.. So you'll be my substitute only when I'm not with the real Applejack.. Okay?" She said this almost as if she was expecting the doll to respond to her.
Applejack just stared at Rarity, what else could she do? She was worried that she might cause a problem to her family and the rest of Ponyville if she stayed in her lifeless form for too long. She couldn't speak out, no matter how hard she tried. She heard Rarity ramble on about how many surprises she had for her, from date locations to anniversary gifts. Sorry about spoiling your surprises.. Applejack mentally apologized, feeling warmth and love coming from Rarity's every word. Applejack felt a stinging guilt in her non-existent stomach. She realized the feelings she had towards Rarity had not returned, not even when she was this close to her. She couldn't bear to see Rarity so happy after she, the Element of Honesty, deceived one of her best friends.
" Well, in you go!" Rarity said, interrupting Applejack's thoughts. She tossed the doll into her diamond laced purse and made sure to leave a small opening so the doll could "breathe." She put on a rustic hat and headed out the door to do her shopping.
Applejack could barely see what was going on outside, mostly because of her awkward angle she was laying in. She could listen to the commotion going on outside. She felt nostalgic; although only being in the doll for a short amount of time, she missed being able to move, being able to talk, being able to see things around her. She stared out the small opening and saw Rarity enter a cloth store, then exit after making a purchase. After following this routine a few more times to various fashion stores, Rarity took a peek inside her purse. Applejack stared at the massive Rarity as she smiled at the doll.
" It's time for lunch, my dear." Rarity said, trying her best to isolate herself so other ponies couldn't see what she was doing. " Where would you like to go eat?" Applejack stared back at her, blankly.
You really are a crazy pony! How in Equestria is a doll suppos' ta answer you! Applejack thought, rolling her eyes in her mind.
" Hayburgers it is!" Rarity exclaimed, closing the purse slightly and made her way towards the nearest hayburger stand.
After watching Rarity finish a Hayburger with silverware and master precision, Applejack was set free from the purse. She saw that they were no longer by the Hayburger stand, but by a hill behind Carousel Boutique. She did remember a slight delay between when she bought the hayburger and when she actually started to eat, but she couldn't say so for sure. She was face down the whole trip and saw nothing but darkness.
Rar' has a pretty borin' life.. If this is what she mostly does aside from workin' on dresses.. Applejack thought, staring at trees and green plains in front of her; Rarity was no where in sight. Well I guess my life ain't much better.. I just hang around the farm all day! In the distance, Applejack saw Rarity return with a mannequin and a half finished dress covering it.
" This is the dress that I've been working on for our next date!" Rarity said to the doll proudly. " I thought I should get some fresh air and work on it out here, what do you think?" Rarity asked, staring at the doll. Applejack mentally rolled her eyes again, trying not to think too much of it. Rarity set the mannequin by the doll and proceeded to work on it. Applejack looked up at Rarity's face, how focused and determined it was. She always wanted to have a strong and determined partner to spend the rest of her life with, and Rarity seemed to almost fit into that description perfectly. Applejack laid there, observing Rarity's every action closely. She noticed how carefully and precise Rarity stitched and positioned the fabrics, how the sun shined in her face. Soon, Applejack started to zone out and stare into the never-ending sky.
Time seemed to fly by the two ponies. Four hours had past and the sun had already set. Applejack looked at Rarity, who was by now exhausted from the work. She glanced over at the now finished dress, looking at it with awe. Rar' really is talented at makin' dresses.. I mean I always knew this but.. Applejack couldn't help but feel happy; happy at the fact that the dress was made for her .. Just for her. Rarity took the doll in her hooves and fell to the ground softly.
" Applejack.. I love you.. I can't wait until the next time we meet.. You'll be so surprised at how beautiful I shall look.." Rarity sighed, dreamily. She took the doll and stared into the emerald buttoned eyes, holding it tightly. Applejack was flustered and didn't have many words to say. In fact, she had no words to say, mostly because she couldn't talk.
Rar'.. Why do you love me..? Why did you choose to love me out of all the mares and colts that would've killed to be with you? Applejack thought, feeling her heart ache thinking about this. As if Rarity had heard Applejack's question, she replied,
" Applejack... Do you even know why I love you..? I guess I never told you before, have I?" Rarity said, giving a weak chuckle, never breaking the stare between them. " I don't really know why, myself.. All I know is that, to me, you're the most beautiful pony in all of Equestria." Rarity said. She shifted into a more comfortable position so she could lay there with the Applejack plush. " It's not just that.. You're so hard-working.. So loyal and honest.. There's no pony like you, no pony that could replace you in my heart.."
Applejack felt every word hit her deep in her heart. Never before has she felt so... Wanted. She felt her heart beat increase and started to feel the same emotions she felt the previous night. All she could do was stare at Rarity under the moonlight. She stared at her beautiful face as it reflected the moon's luminosity; oh how beautiful of a it was to Applejack. Applejack started to feel her heart beat faster as she saw Rarity's face approach her own, giving the doll a long, passionate kiss. Rarity's soft lips pressed against the soft fabric that was Applejack's lips. She felt the kiss was becoming too dry, so she allowed herself to make the kiss a little more.. messy.
M-m-m-my f-first kiss... Applejack thought, her heart practically stopping. She could do nothing but stare at the beautiful mare under the moon.
" .. I.. I bet if Applejack saw me now.. She probably would think of me as being such a pathetic pony.." Rarity said to the doll, breaking away from the kiss and letting a few tears drop from her eyes. " She's my new marefriend.. Yet I'm still playing around and talking to a doll.." Applejack wanted to scream at Rarity, she wanted to let her know that she was right here for her, and how she would never think of her as being pathetic. No voice came out, nothing. " I guess... I just wish she was by my side right now.. For me to tell her all these things.." Rarity said, wearily. She let out a yawn but didn't move from her place next to the doll. " You understand.. Right Applejack..?"
Rar'... I.. Applejack stopped mid thought, feeling the emotions she felt the previous night; except they were amplified ten fold. She also felt a mix of new emotions, emotions that she never felt before in her life. I think I'm.. Startin' to fall in love with you.. She saw Rarity yawn one last time, falling asleep on the hillside.
The warm summer night protected Rarity's delicate body from cold. Applejack saw Rarity's coat shine in the moonlight, how beautiful she looked.. She wanted to hold the sleeping mare tightly, never letting go until the morning. Applejack didn't feel tired, nor could she close her eyes. She just laid there, staring at the sleeping form of her beloved special somepony. She heard Rarity give a quiet snore which made her laugh in her head.
I guess even ponies like Rarity snores.. Applejack thought, smiling in her mind. She could've lived in this moment forever, staring at the sleeping pony. Applejack never let her gaze veer from the beautiful pony in front of her. She thought about how Rarity only cared for her and loved only her, giving her a strong mental blush. She knew the night would be long, and before she continued to watch over the slumbering pony for the rest of the night, she gave a final thought,
Goodnight Rarity.. I love you...

Well whewwww. Sorry for the delay again, I read some of the BEST fan fics ever. Spent the entire days reading them xP.. But I hope you enjoyed this chapter, heavy Rarijack near the end! I'm thinking about ending the story.. not soon.. but not dragging it on more than it has to. " Oh my-... Applejack! I missed you so much! Where were you all this time?"
Applejack watched Rarity wake up, giving a soft yawn as she stretched her hooves. She didn't feel drowsy; however, it seemed that in her form, the feeling of drowsiness was improbable. During the entire night, Applejack spent every moment observing Rarity's soft face, how it glistened in the moonlight. She saw her rise and elegantly brush her mane with her front hoof; this made Applejack feel warm and safe. She didn't know what got into her, but she started to see Rarity in a totally different perspective. Before last night, Applejack saw Rarity as nothing more than one of her best friends. Nothing more than a crazy pony who was obsessed with fashion. This quickly changed after Applejack heard Rarity's loving and honest words, not knowing that she was speaking to the actual Applejack herself. Applejack felt herself becoming flustered thinking of Rarity's love and devotion towards her, feeling nothing but guilt and sadness that she couldn't enjoy this moment in her real body.
" Good mornin', Applejack.." Rarity said with a smile, leaning over and nuzzling the doll with her nose. Applejack knew if it was not for her inanimate form, she would be blushing deeply.
Good morning, Rarity.. Did you sleep well..?" Applejack thought, wishing Rarity could hear her thoughts. Rarity picked up the doll and put it gently on her back. She used her magic and lifted the mannequin, heading back towards her home. Applejack couldn't see anything besides Rarity's white coat; although far from being displeased. She couldn't move any of her body parts, but she could still feel every little thing. She felt the kiss that was placed upon her lips the previous night, as well as the feeling of currently being caressed by Rarity's coat.
" Oh I knew I shouldn't have slept on the grass! My mane looks hideous! " Rarity exclaimed, setting down the doll on her bed. Applejack looked at her surroundings, seeing that they were now in Rarity's room. She saw Rarity open the door in front of her, revealing a bathroom. She watched as Rarity stepped inside and left the door open. Applejack knew what was coming, and couldn't turn away in embarrassment. She looked straight at the bathroom mirror dead center in her vision, seeing the reflection of Rarity turning on the shower.
Oh boy. Applejack thought, gulping. She knew she couldn't avert her eyes or turn her head; this was bad. She felt her mind explode with thoughts of Rarity washing her... Soft.. Silky body. Applejack could almost feel her brain start to blush, telling her that this wasn't the right thing to do. Her eyes and body thought otherwise; she felt her non-existent body tingle with this unexplainable feeling. She couldn't lie, she probably wouldn't have turned away even if she could.
" Thread by thread, stitching it together~" Rarity sung, walking into the shower. Applejack could feel her plushy ears turn hot as she saw Rarity enter, soaking her body in the warm water. Applejack watched Rarity run her hoof through her body, oh how it fired up Applejack's cheeks as she looked at every inch of Rarity in lust. She felt like her heart was going to explode while she stared at the mare slowly applying soap on her body.
Whoa nelly, calm yourself, Applejack... Applejack thought, still staring at the beautiful mare through the mirror. The mirror started to fog up; only a black silhouette visible to the eager cowpony. She could see the silhouette's hoof slowly making her way down her chest, down to her-
Applejack couldn't take it anymore. She was ready to just rip out of that stupid little doll that was keeping her from Rarity's soaked body. Rarity climbed out of the shower, using her magic to quickly dry herself. She appeared in front of Applejack, shining with cleanliness. Humming, she quickly gave the doll a kiss on the forehead and left the room. Applejack was very flustered when she received the kiss, mentally blushing. I wonder where that pony is heading off too.. Applejack said, watching Rarity leave her sight.
" I wonder where my lovely Applejack is.." Rarity thought aloud, walking down the streets of Ponyville. She decided that she probably was at Sweet Apple Acres doing chores. She made her way towards the farm, excited that she would soon reunite with her Applejack. Even though only one day has passed, Rarity's heart ached at the absence of her love.
She approached the entrance to the barn and saw Big Mac leaving. She glanced over to greet him, but he interrupted her.
" Rarity, yer ain't seen my sis', have ya?" Big Mac slowly asked, staring at the mare.
" N-no.. I thought she was at the barn..?" Rarity stuttered, growing concerned as she saw Big Mac's eyes fade into worry. Big Mac gave Rarity a quick nod in appreciation and headed off into town. Applejack isn't at the barn..? Rarity's face scrunched with worry, thinking of the worst possible things that could happen to Applejack. She guessed that Big Mac was probably going to see her friends, so she needed to find somewhere else to look for her beloved Applejack. She knew of a magical zebra in the Everfree forest, certain that she would be of help. She ran off immediately to the Everfree forest after deciding the best chance of finding Applejack was to consult with Zecora.
Rarity panted in exhaustion as she knocked on the door of Zecora's cottage. She was greeted by a surprised look on the zerba; turning into a comforting smile soon after.
" My my, look who showed up to my door! Why, it's Rarity whom I adore!" Zecora rhymed, stepping aside so Rarity could enter her cottage. She closed the door behind her and turned to face Rarity, who had concern written all over her face. " Dear Rarity, what has troubled you so? It isn't like you to be this low." Zecora said, approaching Rarity as she sulked in the center of the room.
" Zecora.. I absolutely need your help with something urgent!" Rarity replied, turning to face the zebra. " My-... I mean, Applejack has gone missing! Her family doesn't know where she is, and I'm very worried.."
" Ah, a mare in love, that is easy to see. I shall do what I can, to help you find your mare in need." Zecora said, throwing herbs and potions into the cauldron in the center of the room. Rarity approached it and glanced inside, seeing nothing but a bright purple liquid. Zecora stirred the mix and squinted into the recipe. She gave a couple of nods and turned to face Rarity.
" Applejack is not the one in danger, but I shall warn you to never trust strangers." Zecora said, watching Rarity's face turned from concern to confused.
" So you're telling me Applejack is safe?" Rarity said, ignoring her warning. Zecora nodded at the relieved mare.
"Yes, but don't take my warning lightly; for the consequences will be unsightly." Zecora said, trying to make the fashion pony listen. Rarity didn't listen to Zecora, too relieved that her special somepony was safe and okay. Rarity thanked Zecora many times for the good news before leaving. Zecora looked through her window at the skipping Rarity, with a concerned look on her face.
" That pony is acting too carelessly, I hope she can defeat her enemy."
Applejack started becoming bored of staring at the bathroom mirror. Where in the hay is Rar'.. Oh, she better not be flirtin' with any ponies just because I ain't there. Applejack thought, sternly. She knew Rarity had a flirty nature, even remembering the most recent time when she gave the mail pony a flirtatious smile. I swear, if any pony is goin' to be messin' with MY Rarity, boy are they.. Applejack thoughts were interrupted, hearing the door to Carousel Boutique open.
Rarity's back! Applejack thought, mentally blushing at how worked up she was just to see her. She heard rumbling downstairs, a bit too much rumbling in her mind. What is that crazy mare doin'? It's causin' a huge ruckus! She heard the hall-closet door slam open, she probably would've jumped back in shock if she could. Before she could think of what Rarity was doing, the door leading to Rarity's bedroom slammed open.
Rarity, what in tar-nation are you doin'!? Applejack thought, scolding Rarity in her mind. She couldn't see anything besides the bathroom and part of Rarity's dresser, so she couldn't turn around and see what Rarity was doing. The bedroom was dark, but she could barely make out a dark silhouette in the mirror. She couldn't tell who it was, but it definitely didn't look like Rarity. Applejack's rage took the best of her, she started mentally swearing and screaming at the intruding pony.
YOU THINK YOU CAN COME TO MY RAR'S HOUSE AND DO WHATEVER YOU PLEASE? I SWEAR IF I WASN'T IN THIS STUPID DOLL I'D.. Applejack thought, wishing that she could kick that intruder with her apple bucking hooves. She heard the entrance door open again, hearing Rarity humming in joy. Oh no! Rarity is goin' to be in trouble! Why do I have to be in this STUPID body! Applejack thought, wishing she could do something to stop the intruder from laying a finger on her Rarity. Looking at the mirror, she saw the intruder standing in the center of the room. She wondered why the intruder hadn't even thought of hiding to strike, but to just stand in broad daylight awaiting the fashion pony.
Rarity's humming soon faded as she entered the kitchen. Applejack knew this because she could hear the silverware clanking and the refrigerator opening. Applejack needed to do something about this infiltrator. She tried her best to move her tiny plushy hooves but to no luck; they didn't move. All she could do is lay there and wait for Rarity to meet her oncoming doom. Applejack heard herself whimper in her mind, wishing she could just protect the pony she cared so deeply about. She quickly started to panic as she heard Rarity walk up the stairs to her bedroom. All she could do was wait until Rarity screamed in terror as she opened the door, facing the intruder head on. She braced herself, wishing there was something to do. She heard the door open and saw the light being turned on. She heard a gasp come from Rarity.
Rarity! No!! Applejack screamed in her mind, not wanting to witness her impending demise. She looked into the now lit up mirror, gasping in horror. I-it couldn't be! She heard Rarity scream.
" Oh my-... Applejack! I missed you so much! Where were you all this time?"

Rarity stared at the imposter in delight, finally able to see her beloved marefriend. She blushed after remembering what had happened on their last encounter; her confessing and what not. The fake Applejack smiled and approached Rarity.
" Heya there." she said mischievously. " Rar', why don't we do somethin'... Interestin'?" The imposter said in a raunchy tone. She looked straight at Rarity, who's face was flushed a deep red.
" W-well what do you have in mind..?" Rarity said eagerly. She was used to many mares and colts going up to her and flirting with her, but she always brushed them off like they were nothing. Her situation with Applejack put her at the other end of the stick, having to gather the courage to even speak with Applejack. Now that "Applejack" was being so forward with her, she couldn't help but feel flustered.
" I was thinkin' we could go on a... Trip." The fake Applejack said; giving her a comforting smile. She quickly glanced at the plush Applejack, smirking at it. She averted her eyes back to Rarity, walking towards her. " Well how 'bout we go to a place where we can be... Alone.
" But aren't we already alone?" Rarity asked, tilting her head at Applejack. The phony Applejack gave a light chuckle, gazing at the doll behind her.
" Oh.. I wouldn't be too sure about that, Rar'.." She said, putting her hoof around Rarity. Rarity could feel the blood rushing to her face, taking deep breaths to maintain her sanity. " Well, whaddya say?"
" Oh, well that would be just lovely! " Rarity said, smiling at the fake. "Applejack" smiled as she led Rarity out of the room; she looked back at the plush doll one last time before closing the door behind them.
Applejack laid there; unable to do anything. She felt so powerless as she watched the two of them converse.. Watching her Rarity treat this fake Applejack with such.. Love.
Rar'.. How could you let that fake trick you... How could you smile like that to another pony.. Right in front of me... Applejack's heart was aching; she never felt this kind of pain before in her life. She felt like Rarity had abandoned her.. She felt like she had abandoned Rarity. Her entire will to find a way to get out of the plush doll fell into oblivion. She didn't even have the strength to think of the horrible things that the imposter was doing to her Rarity. I'm so useless.. I can't even help my dearest friend.. Applejack thought, falling into a deeper state of depression. She had lost all hope.
Then, the door opened.
Hello there, dearest Applejack. I have come to bring you back. A certain magical zebra thought, entering Carousel Boutique.
W-what..? Applejack thought. She swore she just heard Zecora, but she couldn't see her through the reflection of the mirror.
Do not panic my dear; I am downstairs, very near. Zecora started to walk up the steps towards the bedroom. A potion I have brewed, to be able to speak with you.
So you can hear my thoughts, and I can hear yours? Zecora entered the bedroom and nodded at the plush doll.
You are correct, my dear. Zecora picked up the doll and set it in the bag. " We must be quick, for Rarity's end is very clear." Zecora said aloud, leaving the Carousel Boutique. Applejack was sitting up in the bag, confused at what was going on. She didn't know how Zecora knew that she was in the plush; much less how she knew Rarity was in danger. She decided it was best to leave these unanswered for now.
So where are you takin' me? Applejack thought questioningly, trying to peak out the small opening in the bag.
" Back to my cottage." Zecora said flatly, hurrying back into the Everfree Forest. " I will help brew a potion, to help you gain back your devotion." Applejack was already lacking in the "high level" vocabulary department, so it took her some time to think about what that meant.
So what yer tryin' to say is.. You can change me back? Applejack thought, piecing things together.
" That is correct." Zecora said as they approached her cottage. Once they entered, Zecora set Applejack on a counter and got to work immediately. Applejack saw Zecora throw all kinds of potions into the mix; it seemed that she threw a never-endless supply of potions into the cauldron.
How long is this here potion going to take? Rarity is in danger! Zecora turned to face Applejack, frowning.
" I am working in much haste; all we can do now, is wait." Zecora stopped throwing potions into the mixture and took a seat next to Applejack.
So you're sayin' we don't know when the potion is going to be ready..? Applejack thought, concerned that it might be too late. Zecora gave a smile and reassured Applejack that Rarity would be safe. Applejack solemnly accepted the situation; she had to sit here and wait for that stupid potion while her Rarity was in danger. She mentally sighed, staring at the potion that took seemingly forever to finish.
Rarity walked next to "Applejack" in joy, savoring every step. She looked over to her beloved Applejack, smiling at the mare who had stolen her heart. They walked near the edge of Ponyville, away from anypony else. Rarity gave Applejack a confused look; wondering what they were doing at such an isolated place.
" Applejack, why are we at such an.. Isolated spot?" Rarity said, innocently blinking her eyes. "Applejack" turned to face Rarity, a wide grin on her face.
" I just wanted a place where nopony could see us.." The imposter said, approaching Rarity. Rarity blushed, wondering what they would be doing momentarily.
" W-well.. What do you have in mind?" Rarity said, turning a deeper shade of red. She watched her beloved marefriend walk closer and closer to her, confidence in each step. "Applejack" gave Rarity a smile, but then she looked around and her face became concerned.
" Rarity, we have to go somewhere else; now." The imposter said, quickly dragging Rarity back into Ponyville. Rarity noticed the urgency in "Applejack's" voice, so she followed her without question. Once they were in a dark alley near the outskirts of town, Rarity decided to ask "Applejack" what had happened.
" Applejack.. What's wrong?" Rarity said, panting from the unexpected run. She looked over at "Applejack" who was murmuring to herself.
" I was too slow.." The imposter said in anger, spitting on the ground. She turned back over to the confused Rarity and grabbed her shoulders. " Listen to me, and you listen to me well." Rarity stared at "Applejack", confused. She totally lost her southern accent and had a serious look in her eyes. Rarity nodded her head, confused and scared. " Okay, now I need you to run as far aw-"
The imposter got a swift kick in her side, leaving her sprawled along the floor. Rarity looked at "Applejack" in horror, running towards the fallen mare.
" Applejack!!" Rarity screamed in dismay, looking at her beloved marefriend who was struggling to get up.
" Don't get near that imposter!" A voice called out behind Rarity. She turned around face to face with another Applejack.
" A-applejack?" Rarity asked, doing a double take at the fallen Applejack. She felt her head spin in confusion, not knowing what was going on.
" Rar' I'll explain everything in a minute, for now we have to get away!" Rarity didn't know what was going on; she looked at the Applejack that was now running, deciding to follow her.
Applejack led Rarity to an abandoned gem mining cave outside of Ponyville. Rarity looked over to Applejack, who was standing on the other side of the cave. She tried to piece together all the recent events that had just occurred.
Okay Rarity, let's see what's going on.. Rarity started to think, keeping her gaze on the Applejack who was idly standing there. There are two Applejacks.. Apparently Applejack #1 was evil and was some sort of.. Imposter.. And now Applejack #2 is the real one saving me.. Rarity could see the smoke leaving her head, shaking it off quickly. She looked at Applejack; she seemed to be walking around the cave, inspecting every detail of it. Rarity couldn't stand being clueless anymore.
" Applejack.. Explain to me what in all of Equestria is going on!" Rarity finally said, walking up to Applejack with a stern look on her face. She was so confused, so she demanded an answer. Applejack turned towards Rarity and smiled, putting a hoof on her shoulder. Rarity blushed, returning the smile at Applejack. She then took her hoof that was on Rarity's shoulder and hit Rarity right in the temple, knocking the unfortunate pony cold on the ground.
" Goodnight, Rar'."

Ch9: A New Challenger Approaches!
(Disclaimer: You might want to re-read the entire fan fic because I haven't updated this in a while so you might've all forgotten what happened up to this point. ^^ Sorry for being late on the updates!)

"I love you, Rarity."

Applejack stretched out her hoof as her plush body became flesh. She gave a look of satisfaction as she looked around the hut.
" As much as I'd love to thank you and chat, I've got a mare to save." Applejack stated, walking past Zecora. She gave Applejack an amused smile, watching her gait as she exited the hut. Applejack didn't waste any time as she sprinted out of the Everfree Forest with record speeds. If that no good impostor did anything to Rarity... Applejack winced at the thought. She could only wonder at what horrible things Rarity could be going through. " I'm comin' for you, Rarity.." Applejack whispered, rushing out of the Everfree Forest.
"Applejack" grimaced in pain as she slowly sat up, holding onto her injured hoof. This is bad... she thought, rubbing her thigh softly. A green aura formed around her, levitating herself into the air. Her limbs slowly turned black, one after another, leaving her true form exposed. Chrysalis shuttered at the transformation, rubbing her now healed thigh.
She looked into the sky in deep thought, wondering what her next move should be. I should've planned this better... Now Rarity is in trouble... Chrysalis stretched her hooves as she started to sprint towards the direction that Rarity had gone.
Rarity grimaced in pain as she woke up, still in the cave she was led to. Her hooves were tied against a wooden pole located in the center of the cave. She tried to use her magic, but her horn was covered in some kind of silky material that only allowed her to shoot sparks into the air. A dark figure stood by the entrance of the cave; the doppelganger of Applejack.
"Who are you!" Rarity demanded, thrashing herself against the binding that kept her from tackling the mare. The fake chuckled as she sat down, not answering her question.
"Isn't the sky just beautiful?" The fake said, looking at the sun setting across the horizon. Rarity stared in fury at the impostor, clenching her teeth from spewing out profanities all over the place. Before she could reply to the pony's question, she saw the mare pull out something from her saddle bag. A knife. Rarity felt a sudden surge of panic as her pupils shrank, her eyes not leaving the sharp metallic blade.
"W-What are you trying to do?" Rarity whimpered in distress. She knew this was bad, the sight of the knife made Rarity cringe to her very bones. Seeing the fake use her beloved Applejack's face was increasing the intensity of the situation as well.
"I wonder if she will come if I harm you..." The pony said ominously as she approached Rarity slowly, holding the knife menacingly in her hoof. Rarity prepared for the worst as she clung onto the wooden pole that restricted her from moving. The mare took one step forward before getting bucked across the cave, smacking violently against the wall.
"You best not get near Rar' again." Applejack warned, shortly after kicking the look alike. The fake was disoriented and took a moment to regain her balance. Applejack quickly ran towards Rarity, giving her a strong hug. "Rarity, I missed you so much... Are you okay? Did she hurt you? There's so many things that I want to tell you..." Applejack said, hugging the mare even tighter. Rarity felt tears emerge from her eyes. Finally, the real Applejack was here.. The one she yearned for for so long.
"A-Applejack... Is that really yo-..."
"You. Arent. HER ." The fake hissed after regaining her composure. She immediately dove towards Applejack, knocking them both onto the ground. Before Applejack could pin the fake, she was encased in a green magical aura.
"What in the ha-" Applejack yelled, getting thrown viciously against the wall. The fake's skin started to decay and turn black; holes forming in random spots on it's body. It didn't take Rarity a second guess as to what this creature was.
"Changeling!" Rarity gasped as the changeling brushed off the dirt from it's hooves. The changeling wasted no time, levitating the slowly rising Applejack into the air.
"Now... You... DIE." The changeling hissed, charging up a bolt of green magic.
"STOP!" A familiar voice screamed from the entrance of the cave. A green bolt smacked against the changeling, sending him flying across the cave
"So you finally came..." The changeling hissed in pain, slowly recovering from the blast. Chrysalis stood at the entrance of the cave, her horn sizzling from the previous magic bolt. Applejack's jaw dropped; what was Chrysalis doing here? Wasn't she defeated after Shining Armor and Princess Cadence combined powers to banish her? Before she could say anything, the bound mare next to her spoke first.
"Chrysalis? What are you doing here!?" Rarity asked, just as confused as Applejack was. Chrysalis gave Rarity a calm, content look.
"I'm glad you're alright, Rarity..." Chrysalis said as she re-averted her eyes towards the changeling. "What is your reason for coming here."
"After your absence, your highness, " The changeling almost spat when he said 'highness', "We were left leader-less, roaming the Everfree Forest like a bunch of ANIMALS! The changeling was now standing up, a snarl grew on his face. "We were so relieved to have found you, but you were busy falling in love; genuinely in love." Applejack and Rarity watched the two in complete confusion, not knowing what in Equestria was going on.
"And what is the purpose for all of this?" Chrysalis demanded, maintaining a stern stance as she glared at the changeling.
"I have been elected as the new high arch of our tribe, and for me to truly become the leader, I must eliminate you !" At those words, the changeling charged head first into Chrysalis, knocking them both onto the ground. Applejack had no clue what was going on, but all she could do was assist the one who was less insane. She quickly ran over and pinned the changeling onto the ground, letting Chrysalis charge her magic.
"Back away, Now! " Chrysalis demanded, firing a strange colored bolt towards the changeling. The changeling almost instantly disappeared, leaving Applejack lying on the ground.
"W-what did you do to him?" Rarity asked, worried that she just witnessed a murder occur.
"I sent him back to deepest depths of the Haysead Swamps. We won't be seeing him for another hundred moons at least." Chrysalis confirmed, slowly approaching Rarity.
"And what do ya think you're doi-..." Applejack started to say, only to be interrupted by Chrysalis.
"I love you, Rarity."
