Dear Diary,
Hello Diary, I finally convinced Father to buy me a diary. Mother thought it would be good if I had one, but Father thought that I would grow too attached to you, and then proceed to do stupid things for you. But I don’t listen to him, he is really strict. Although, Mother is just about as strict but she cares for me a bit more. Oh where are my manners, I haven’t introduced myself, I’m Pinkamena Diane Pie. It’s easier to just say Pinkie Pie if you want to make my name easier to say. That is what Mother would call me whenever I was a smaller filly than I even am today. I am 8 years old by the way, and since you don’t have eyes I should probably describe how I look as well. I am about a foot tall standing on all fours, my coat is pink and my mane is a darker shade of pink. My sisters, Limestone and Marble, like to make fun of my bright color. They call me weak and say I’m a sissy. But what do they know? Anyway, I work on a rock farm for my family. What we do is rotate the rocks to the direction the sun is shining from, it is to keep the rocks nice and fresh Father says. I am not for certain why we do this though, no one ever buys the rocks, and all we use them for is to throw them at each other whenever me or my sisters get into fights with one another. Oh, I have to go, it is bedtime. Bye, see you tomorrow.
Dear Diary,
Hmm, I am just beginning to realize that it is going to be hard to tell you any new stories since nothing new or interesting happens here on the farm. I believe I pretty much summed up my life in my last entry. Oh, I forgot to mention Ponyville, thats the town that I live very close to and it’s where the people come from to have discussions with my parents. However no one has come by in what seems like forever, last time someone did it was a lost traveler who needed directions. Anyway, I have only been to Ponyville one time, only because I begged my parents to take me along on their shopping trip, I was very curious of this town. The buildings looked so polished, the ground wasn’t all grungy, it was nice and hard like how roads should be. Unlike the land I live on which is really messy and impossible to step outside without getting your hooves dirty. Everyone in the town wore a smile on their faces, but those were nothing compared to the joy you could see on my face. I was ecstatic to see this new place, all I had seen for all of my life was the farm, and the trees bordering it. However, my parents didn’t let me talk to anyone, they said that it was unsafe to talk to strangers. But everyone seemed so nice, I disagreed with what they said but I couldn’t tell them that, I would be in big trouble. I wish I could go back there though, maybe some day.....
Dear Diary,
Hi, how are you today? I’m doing great, I just had so much fun with Surprise. Who is Surprise? Well, she is my imaginary friend, she looks just like me except her coat is white and she has poofy yellow hair. She is also a pegasus! The only time I ever see Pegasi is when they are on weather patrol, and also the one time I visited Ponyville I saw a few Pegasi. Anyway she swoops on by every now and then to cheer me up when I am sad, it really helps when I am just not in the mood to work. She also tells me about the stuff that happens in Cloudsdale, it’s fun to listen to other’s stories. As well as the ones where she talks about Ponyville, and how there is a farm a lot like this one, but instead of farming rocks, they farm apples. Apples taste so good, it must be great to work at a place like that. Oh she is the best, but you are awesome too! You and her are equally the best. *Sigh* It’d be nice to get away from all these boring old rocks, I wanna go to Ponyville soo badly. I may just run away. But I’m not that crazy.

OH MY CELESTIA I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW!!! When it was time to eat, my sisters must have planned to ruin my day by messing up all the work I had done. I came outside after supper to find all of the rocks I had so nicely placed where they belonged a few hours ago, now in messy piles! I was so confused but then I saw my sisters giggling at me when I saw it! I told father but he didn’t believe me! So for the rest of the day I had to redo all my work while my sisters sat back and watched because they were done with their chores for the day. They mocked me as I undid their cruel actions. MOCKED ME!! I hope that they get what’s coming to them, I wish I could just get away from all of this and cool off. Grr I could just punch something! Ok I need to calm down. I’m about to break the only pencil I have, see you.

I think the heat from the sun has been getting to me recently... I have been having these terrible nightmares.. They were of me going on a rampage, destroying everything in my path until I had my freedom, including people I knew.... I would get to Ponyville, but everyone would reject me, and give me bad looks, I would then walk myself into a cave in the forest where no one could see me, and stare at myself in the reflection of the pond that was within. I would cry there until I would wake up. Y'know that some people cry themselves to sleep? Well I cry myself into waking up, and grit my teeth to sleep because I would always be so angry at the ponies around me. Surprise has been trying her hardest to help me out. But I just get so angry I would just want to be alone. I’m thinking about running away, for real this time. I need to get out of here. But that will happen some other day. Tomorrow however, I have to work. Uuuggghhh.....
Dear Diary,
Today on the farm we were preparing to turn the rocks to the south field from the west field. I can’t take it any longer, I’ve been working on this farm for two years. I am definitely going to be running away soon, to a more cheerful place, where ponies actually smile, and have fun just like they do in Ponyville. Here there is no fun and no one smiles or even talks. We just sleep, work, eat, repeat. On the next rock rotation, I plan to escape this wretched farm to a new life. I need to go show other ponies how I am feeling so they can help us who work here. I have placed the sharpest rock I had found near the exit of the farm, so when someone tries to stop me, I can resist them. I had thought about telling my sisters about it, but knowing them, they wouldn't listen to me. I am just fed up with how much they make fun of my pink color. They will just not stop calling me weak. So they definitely won’t go along with this, they may even tell mother and father. I am on my own with this escape, I will show them, I can defend myself, even if it means living in the Everfree Forest for the rest of my life. I'd like to see them do that and last more than a day. My parents are coming, time to hide this diary, wish me luck on my escape.

Hey! Guess what! It turns out I don’t need to do any stealthy wealthy stuff! Wanna know why! Because I got everypony to smile!!! Oh it was great! I was ending In the middle of working on the rotation I was going to escape on, when I was called in for supper. I sighed to the call, but then, out of NOWHERE this BEAUTIFUL rainbow flew across the sky! It left joy and sunshine EVERYWHERE!! It made me SO happy I don’t know what came over me. I just wanted to spread my joy to everypony! So I decided to scrap my plan of escaping and throw my family A PARTY!! Oh they just loved it there was balloons, cake, icecream, music, candy, drinks, party hats, streamers, YOU NAME IT!! I wish you saw it. I also got my cutie mark and I was so happy! My parents saw my mark and knew that three party balloons could not apply to anything rock related. So they brought me to the bakeshop in ponyville and applied for me to work there! Oh I get to make cupcakes, cake, pie, and all sorts of other delicious goodies! I can’t wait to start there it will be so much fun to meet new people and bring smiles to their faces! Ok well I’m glad that you were there for me when times were tough, we will meet up again sometime, I’ll keep you here in my old room on the farm so you won’t be bothered and get all ruined by all the food getting all over you. However I will keep this one page that is in you that I don’t feel you would enjoy having along with this scrapbook that I had made. OKIE DOKIE LOKIE good bye Diary!! You are the best friend I have ever had!
