Chapter 1: Meeting the Culprit, Slendermane
I hummed a tune as I walked down the streets of Ponyville. The sky's were clear, the birds are chirping, and everything else was rainbows and lollipops. I felt the air brush against my face, it's gentle warm breeze made me get goosebumps. Yet for some strange reason, this is way to normal for me. By that I mean, I'm usually facing alicorn type threats from my past, or I'm helping some pony with an odd request.
"Did you hear about the kids in Seaddle who went missing?" A stallion asked.
"I heard that a random mare from Yanhoover went missing." A mare said.
And that is my queue to get to work. So I walked very slowly to hear more of this conversation. As I approached, I began to hear multiple rumors;
"There is a stallion from Saddle Arabia, who went missing..." A mare said, worried.
"Four graduates from college also went missing in Applewood..." A Stallion said, feeling uncomfortable.
"I heard a romantic couple went missing at a make out spot at Las Pegasus..." A rich mare said, scared.
That was all the information I needed. I walked away slowly and began to walk out of Ponyville and enter the Everfreee Forest. As I walked through the damp and dark woods, I began to ponder about the rumors I had just heard.
"Multiple ponies missing from different towns. There's something off about that." I said, whispering to myself. I then saw a clearing ahead, so I ran for it. But then a strange thing happened; a tall, white, earth pony wearing a black suit, with a red tie had appeared right as I was about to exit the Everfree Forest.
"Well, shit." I said out loud, as I kept staring at the tall pony. My vision was slowly going static, as the strange pony kept looking at me from it's position.
"Who are you? Are you lost?" I asked the strange pony, but it didn't respond. Or I should say it couldn't respond, since I saw it had no mouth.
"T..h..I..s... l...A...n...D...I...s...m...I...n...E!" A voice said, from inside my head.
"Wha---?" Was all I said before I blacked out unconscious.
"...zo...izo...Caizo...Caizo please wake up!" A familiar voice said, as I began to groan.
"Where...Where am I?" I asked, rubbing my head pounding.
"You're at Ponyville General Hospital. I found you at the entrance to the Everfree Forest. You nearly gave me a heart attack you dolt!" The voice said, now sounding really familiar.
"Sorry Cutlass. I guess I must've just taken a short nap." I said, getting more of a reaction from my colleague.
"A nap... that's your response to all of this... You Took A Bloody Nap! You were out for like a light bulb for four hours!" Cutlass said, overreacting.
"Excuse me. You're in a hospital. Try to keep your voice down." Nurse Red Heart said, scolding my friend.
"Don't tell me what to do lady. You're not my girlfriend." Cutlass said, taunting the nurse.
"Please wait in the lobby, Mr. Royal Lime Green Bean." Red Heart shot the words.
"Fine. But if you let my friend die, I will send a boot to your head." My friend said, taking his leave.
"Sweet Luna's Cycle. How do you put up with that?" Red Heart asked me. I just shrugged, since I can't give her an answer.
"At least you woke up. How are you feeling?" She said, rubbing my head, and taking my temperature.
"Well I feel fine. I just can't figure out what happened." I said, confused.
"Let me break it down for you. You're "friend?" Mr.Cutlass found you in the Everfree Forest, near the Castle of the Two Royal Sisters. He tried to see if you were asleep or worse dead. At least he found you alive, if you had been unconscious any longer, the Timber wolves would've eaten you." Red Heart said, summing it up.
"That explains a lot. Thanks Red Heart." I said, feeling grateful.
"You're welcome. But I highly recommend you staying here over night. Just because we don't want a incident like this happening again." She said, as she exited the room.
"That's very strange. How could've Cutlass found me in the Everfree Forest? He needs a map to navigate his way through." I said, whispering to myself. Then that's when it hit me hard, I was in some sort of dream where everything seems normal but when I do a certain thing, something bad will happen.
"All right. Game on." I said, out loud, as I got out of the hospital bed, and walked towards the door. Adrenaline was shooting through my entire body, as I opened the door, and I saw a lot blood, and a lot of dead bodies in the hallway. This would've made me feel sick to my stomach, if I hadn't already seen dead bodies.
"J...o...i...n...u...s." One of the dead bodies said, taking their last breath.
"No thanks. I rather choice life instead of a cult." I retorted back, as I walked slowly down the hallway. This hospital scene was like something anyone could've seen in a horror movie, but that shouldn't stop me.
"He's coming to get you..." A mysterious child voice said, laughing throughout the hospital.
"And who might that be? Tirek? Sombra? Alternate universe male Celestia or Luna? Shakespeare? " I asked, giving the enemy lip.
"Those who look upon the mighty darkness are doomed." Another voice said, this time a stallion.
"So let me get this straight, so you all can stop doing this "I'm evil and you will bow down to our god" type of shit. I look darkness in the face multiple times in the face already. So Tartarus be damned of this is suppose to scare the living soul out of me." I said, looking and waiting for something to attack me.
"You don't know the true meaning of fear." A child voice said, it's voice echoing throughout the entire hospital.
"Heh. Well, fear can benefit in one of two ways. Those who have fear can be in control. The other can embrace fear and brave it if it has been thrown." I said, slightly chuckling.
"Look for room 686. And you're answer will be there." Multiple voices said, fading into the darkness.
"Hmm this sounds like a trap. But I'll bite the bullet and play along." I said, as I proceeded to the location. As I walked through the hallways, looking around every corner in case something bad was standing in the way of or guarding the corridor. Just then I saw a door open, and I saw a light.
Usually in any horror movie, there are certain rules you should not do.
Rule # 1 Never ever go towards any creaked/fully opened doors.
Rule # 2 Never go alone to an attic or basement
Rule # 3 Never separate from the party of friends
Rule # 4 Never enter through an open window
Rule # 5 Never go down any creepy hallways
I'm about to break all of these rules, because I decided to approach the fully open door. I peeked around the corner, and I saw the most weirdest thing in my life. I saw a mare sitting on a rocking chair, her mane was pale white like the moon, her tail was golden like the sun, her coat was like the color of grass, and her eyes were different color. I mean one of them was a different color than the other, one eye was an red, and the other was blue.
"So you're my answer. A mysterious mare that I don't know the name of." I said, bluntly.
"R...Run..." The mare said, fearfully.
"Not a chance. I'm here for answers." Again I was blunt.
"You don't understand. You need to run far away before he gets you." She said, now looking like fear has taken hold of her.
"Who's going to get me? The Bogey Stallion? The Sack Mare? Animatronics?" I gave the mare some lip, to show her there is nothing to fear. But she was still pretty shaken up with fear.
"S...Sl...Slendermane." The mare said, now passing out. As I saw this happen I looked at the mirror behind her and I saw the same tall, white, earth pony wearing the black suit with the red tie, that appeared in front of me in the Everfree Forest.
"Your land is mine little pony." Slendermane said, telepathically.
"Over my dead body, faceless freak." I said, looking directly at Slendermane face to face.
He laughed, because he thinks I'm just a normal pegasus. Well I'll let him think that, for now.
"You dare challenge me!" He said.
"Yes I do." I said, bluntly.
"Very well. I'll show you that I'm no mere sham." Slendermane said. Just then, I woke up, and blinked a few times. I saw that I hadn't moved from my position in the Everfree Forest earlier. I looked towards the sky and I saw the sky had changed from bright and blue, to an orange, pink and purple, which means the sun is about to set and night time is about to begin.
I shook my head, just to get my head rolling back into reality. I then felt a piece of paper beneath, and I picked it up.
One the piece of paper was a drawing of me, and Slendermane, and beneath the pic, I saw a message. It read;
