Prologue
Growing up in an orphanage for so many years teaches you certain things about life, all the bad and all the good. I had to learn special skills just to survive like, pick-pocketing and deceiving. I wasn't alone at the orphanage, I had my little sister, for company, she's my only family and all the family I need. You may think of me as cold hearted but truthfully, I could care less who my real biological family is, they abandoned me and my sister so I don't care for who they are.
I taught myself and my sister valuable lesson, we watched out for each other and we stayed together even to this day. She means the world to me and I am willing to do anything to make her happy and keep her safe. So when I became too old to stay at the orphanage, I moved into a cheap apartment downtown with my sister, I enrolled her into school and got a job that pays well enough for the rent, even making some money on the sideline for other things. All in all, it was a decent life that we lived and we were happy so long as we were together.
Things changed one day when we were caught in an accident. That day started off pretty normal, wake up, eat breakfast, and drive to school,but It was the drive to school that was different, I didn't think about it at first but there were signs that screamed danger. As I was driving my little sis to school, I had the radio on with some kick-ass music playing and the volume turned up so it's no surprise that I didn't notice 'it' until it was too late. I was at a red light waiting, so I think about some things that have been on my mind, when the light turns green I drive forward not paying much attention to my surroundings until I hear a loud screeching noise. Time slows to a crawl as I look to my left and spot a truck on a collision course with my vehicle, there wasn't enough time to avoid it and with the speed and force there's no chance of surviving the hit. I instinctively reach for my sis riding in the passenger seat slowly wrapping her in a tight hug as the vehicle slowly approaches and time agonizingly, slowly ticks away. I hear the screech of tires on pavement, the bending of metal, then nothing, no sound, not even my own breathing. I question whether or not I'm dead, but I already know the answer, I just want to know if my little sister survived, wishful thinking I guess. So I drift about in this abyss of nothing for a good while until a small light catches my eye and I feel myself being pulled into towards the light as it gets larger and brighter. I'm now rushing through a tunnel of white light but I can't feel any wind, then the tunnel changes to a swirling rainbow color and a wave of intense heat washes over my body. The heat and pain quickly increase to the point that I want to scream my head off, looking down at my hands I see the skin burn away to reveal a black surface and my mind freaks out causing the pain to triple.
Fortunetly, I soon go unconscious do to the extreme pain and don't awake until some undetermined time later but while unconscious, I can feel the presence of my sister with me.
The connection with my sister is then cut off as my senses slowly return to me, I feel myself laying against a soft surface as the warm rays of the sun bask over me. I begin to hear the sound of the birds as they sing their sweet melodies and the trees as they sway in the cooling breeze. I flutter my eye's open to a brightly lite forest clearing, green grass underneath me, flush trees around me. I slowly drag myself to a comfortable sitting position, asses the situation; In a forest located who knows where, sister probably lost, and my skin feels weird. I freak out a bit when I look down at my hands to see black claws with only four digits, thumb, index, middle, and pinkie. I roll up the sleeves of my jacket to examine the rest of my arm, black scales going up my arm with soft black fur on the under-side, similar appearance for my legs with claw toes, scales on the front and fur on the back of legs. Lifting my jacket above my chest to reveal a reptillic gray, underbelly with black fur around it, on my back are Draconic, bat-like wings with bits of fur on the limb and a small thin reptile like tail with a furry tip and small sharp spikes running up it.
Calming down, I look around me for my sister only to spot someone laying near me with my bag laying between us. She's wearing the same clothes as my little sister but doesn't look like her, her skin is a smooth dark gray, hair pink with a gradient pattern of dark to light form top to bottom. Now that I think about it, if my appearance changed in this world then it only makes sense that her appearance changed as well, the only question is into what? I'll just have to wait until she... wait, she's waking up now.

I feel so comfortable laying here, the ground is so soft and the sun is so warm, then I remember that me and my big brother were just in a car crash. So why doesn't it hurt, oh right the rainbow vortex thingy. I guess I should get up and look for my brother, he can be so lost without me sometimes. Fluttering my eyes open do to the bright sunlight, I see soft green grass, flush forest trees and bushels. I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes while stifling a yawn, turn around to see where my brother is I only see a big lizard like things looking at me. 'Wait. Lizard thing?' when the realization that a giant lizard thing is staring at me, I kind of freak out a bit, only a bit.
"Aaaahhhhhhhhhh. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU!"
"He he. Is that any way to talk to your loving big brother?" it responds in the same voice as my big brother.
"B...big bro? Is that You?" I ask stuttering, having a hard time believing what I'm seeing.
"The one and only." he responds again in the same voice, it realy is him.
"What happened to you? You look different." I ask observing every detail of his new body.
"Heh. You might want to take a look at yourself. You look different too." he replies while standing up and walking over to me.
I look down at myself to see instead of normal skin, it's made of harden material almost like a bug or something, dark gray in color with small holes in my forearms and forelegs. Instead of feet, I have hoofs, thing butterfly like wings on my back, a small curved horn sticking out my head, and a long pink tail with fangs poking out of my mouth like a vampire. What happened to us?

As my little sister examines her new body and gets use to her new appendages, I gather some sticks and fallen branches from around the area and set up a nice little campfire for us. Sis looks at me funny until she notices that its getting dark, as I test out my new abilities by exhaling a small puff of fire to get the bonfire lit.
"Getting late. We should get some rest." I state while laying down near the fire, using my bag as a makeshift pillow and my jacket as a blanket.
"Big brother? Can I sleep with you?" sis ask nervously glancing around at the darkening forest.
"Yeah sure you can. You don't have to ask such a silly thing." I reply while motioning her to lay down next to me.
She snuggles up to as I wrap my arms around her and shortly after hear to peaceful sound of her soft snores, my own eyes getting heavy as sleep soon takes hold of me. With my sister by my side, I am content with even this crazy and bizarre situation, and so I sleep soundly this night, our first night in a new world, our new home.
