Listen well to the story of the Myth Six. Each influenced our daily lives. Listen well, fillies, and remember...
Lightning Dancer raced across the sky, her wings flapping faster and faster, the white streaks on her mane and tail lighting up the sky. A loud boom echoed around her as she created the first thunder storm...
Melody took a deep breath. She concentrated hard on the large boulder in front of her. She could just teleport around it, but she chose not to. Using magic, she lifted the boulder out of the way and dropped it upon the Changelings. Melody darted through the gap and caused a rock slide, blocking the pathway again...
Peach Blossom carefully flew through the clouds, aware of the lightning flashing around her. A bolt of it flew in front of her muzzle, making her whinny in fright. A gold Pegasus suddenly appeared in front of her, blocking her path. The pony flew up, then quickly darted downward, straight towards Peach Blossom. She backed up, knowing that this pony was creating lightning and a thunder storm. When the pony reappeared, still seeming hostile, Peach Blossom decided to reason with her...
Dusk Oasis sat straight up. She just had a vision. Five ponies were going to arrive at her house tonight. They would eat. Talk. Maybe perform some magic. But the most shocking part of her vision: all six of them were going to become legendary.
Moonlight Soprano carefully flew to the nearest cloud in the sky. It was her time. The sun was to come up, the moon to sink below the horizon. She sung her special song, the high notes raising the sun a little higher.
Shining Harmony was putting the final spells on the jewels before placing them in their proper settings. The all of the "elements", as she called them, would protect the world and keep them all safe. At least, that's what she hoped.
The Myth Six are the ones who brought lightning and peace, magic and light, the legends we know today, and most importantly, the Elements of Harmony, made by Shining Harmony herself. Remember, fillies, remember, the Myth six are always a part of our lives.
Twilight sighed happily as her brother tucked her in for the night.
"I want to be just like Melody."
Shining Armor laughed.
"Don't you worry, Twili. You will be some day. Get some sleep now. We're gonna have some fun tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay! Night, BBBFF."
"Good night, LSBFF."
Good night, Twilight, Melody's voice murmured in her head.
Good night, Melody, Twilight thought back.
And with that, Twilight Sparkle fell asleep.
Ten years passed since that night. Twilight's magic had grown stronger, and everything was going perfectly fine.
"Well, I've gotten almost as magically strong as Melody! I'm so proud of myself! Princess Celestia is proud too, and let's not forget about Luna and Cadence!"
But it's okay to forget about me?
"Come on, Twilight! Melody is not real! You need to keep it together and remove that imaginary voice out of your mind."
Twilight! I can't believe that you'd say such a thing! Much less shut me out!
"Shut UP! Ignore it, Twilight! Concentrate!"
But no matter how much she concentrated, Twilight kept worrying.
"It was Melody who inspired me. Have I just lost her?"
"Awesome! Lightning Dancer is so cool! I want to fly as fast as her!"
Her father chuckled. "Patience, Rainbow. You will be gthe fastest Pegasus in the world. Just keep practicing and get through flight school."
"When is my final assessment?"
"Tomorrow."
Rainbow Dash cringed.
"Don't you worry, Dashie. You'll do fine!"
"Are you sure, Dad?"
"Positive. Now go get some sleep. You're gonna need it."
"Good night, Dad."
"Good night, Rainbow Dash."
It was the next day at the flight school final assessment. Rainbow Dash settled her nerves by taking deep breaths and pretending that she was Lightning Dancer. The story last night crept into her head. The voice of another filly, well... Not really a filly...brought her back to the present.
"Ha! See ya later, Rainbow Crash!"
That's what you think, she thought.
Fluttershy, the Pegasus that could hardly fly, dropped the flag. The three pegasi at the line took off, nearly knocking Fluttershy off the cloud.
Come on! Flap! Faster, Rainbow Dash, faster! Blow these idiots away! The imaginary voice of Lightning Dancer sounded in her head.
She flapped her wings faster and faster, and charged towards the ground, pushing the final cloud out of the way and sweeping upwards as a magic-sounding noise echoed around her. Looking back, she saw a rainbow trailing behind her. She had just done a Sonic Rainboom! She had done the impossible. And with the passing of that day, not only did she pass flight school, she got her Cutie Mark.
Ten years have passed since the day that Rainbow Dash earned her Cutie Mark. She still remembers and admires Lightning Dancer, but sees her only as a myth.
"It was my belief in Lightning Dancer that helped me become the fastest Pegasus in the world."
No reply.
"Tank?! Are you even listening to me?!"
No reply came from her flying turtle.
"Figures," She muttered.
Rainbow Dash stood up and walked towards her window. Looking outside, she noticed dark storm clouds and heard thunder. Her childhood's mind crept back in as she imagined the gold, black, and white pony racing across the sky so fast she made it thunder. Rainbow Dash shook her head vigorously.
"Dash, you're being as stubborn as a filly. Lightning Dancer does not exist!"
A gasp echoed through her mind.
Rainbow Dash! I thought you admired me! Loved me even!
Lightning Dancer's supposed voice called loud and clear, sounding just as it had when she was a filly.
"Get out of my head!" Rainbow Dash hissed. Just like that, the voice was gone. A thought slowly creeped into her mind that would throw her soul into turmoil.
Have I just lost my only inspiration for being who I am?
