Load Full StoryCelestia signed a scroll with flourish. She then, in a golden aura, gently placed the scroll on the ever-growing stack of papers that rested near the edge of her ornately carved throne. Sighing, she floated a letter in front of her, from Twilight Sparkle-er Princess Twilight Sparkle. The parchment made small crinkling noises as she unrolled it.
Dear Princes Celestia
Even though you said that I didn't need to write any more letters to you, I would like to share my thoughts with you anyway. I have learned that even if a big change happens and you aren't sure how to handle it, your friends are always there to help guide you through many different changes
Your faithful student,
Your friend,
Twilight Sparkle
A picture was pasted underneath the words, with Twilight and her friends all gathered up into a group hug. Celestia smiled and the letter vanished with a pop and a swirl of smoke, into a small chest in her study. She always kept each of her students letters-even before she took Twilight on as a student and she was one of the very few that descended into alicornhood- Celestia floated a sheet of parchment in front of her and tapped her feathery quill against her chin.
Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle
Celestia wrote in elegant script.
I am pleased to hear that...
With a loud bang a troop of guards stormed through the large wooden doors. Startled, Celestia jerked up causing the black ink to smear over her carefully written parchment.
"Your Majesty" The leader of the guards said, bowing down.
"Rise General Sliver Sword" Celestia smiled gracefully, trying to hide her faint annoyance at her smeared letter.
Urgency flickered in the Generals eyes he opened and closed his mouth a few times before gasping,
"Ch-changeling!"
Celestia sat straight up in her throne, urgency coursed like fire through her veins. "Contact Shining Armor and Princess Cadence" she ordered. Celestia stood up and beckoned for Sliver Sword to follow her. "What happened?"
"Well" Silver Sword paused and quickened his step so it matched Celestias "I was guarding the castle gate and pony came up and turned into that..thing, I then captured it and put it in the Castle dungeons."
"Did it say anything?"
"Yes, it said that it wouldn't speak to anypony until it saw you"
Celestia nodded to the guards that stood in front of the door that led to the dungeon. Sliver Sword opened the door with his magic and gestured for Celestia to follow him.
Celestia suppressed a shudder as she was led through the dank and damp corridors, The dungeon was designed to leech the happiness out of the ponies that were dangerous and committed dastardly crimes. Some even went mad in the dark cells, right now the cells weren't occupied by anything. Except a changeling. Sliver Sword halted in front of a small cell. Celestia peered into the cell, only to shine of chitin and glint of gauzy wings."You have some nerve to come here changeling" Celestias voice echoed across stone. She then lit up her horn and fired a bolt of magic onto a torch clinging on the wall, causing it to flare up and sent light dancing across the walls. Celestia turned to the changeling and gasped, taking a step back.
The changeling-it was a she Celestia guessed-was just like any other changeling, but larger, more like the size of Princess Luna than a normal pony, she had long gauzy wings that tapered into a gentle point and he carapace was a rich blue dusted with silver. Her mane was the same color as her carapace and was long and flowing, with the signature holes that every changeling.
But that wasn't what surprised Celestia. No, what really surprised her was the scar, stretched taut across the changelings eye and half of it's face, it was long and crusty, with skin flaking off of it, and this changeling was skinny, not skinny in a good way, skinny in a way that showed every ridge of her ribs.
The changeling met Celestias startled gaze with a narrow ice blue eye.
"I am Seraphina, Princess of the Changelings" Seraphinas strange and exotic voice echoed across the chamber "and I wish for an alliance with the ponies"
