Zebra Cakes

Chapter 2

The day was bright and the sun was sun shining down on to the town of ponyville. Twilight and spike were in the library putting books away. ”Spike I’m to Quills and Sofas for some more quills ok.”

“I can hold down the fort while you’re gone.” Spike replied as he slide a book on to the shelf. Twilight grabbed her saddlebags than headed out the door. She breathed in the fresh summer air, it smelled of flowers and cheerful goodness. As she walked the sun warmed her. Bon-bon waved as Twilight passed by her.

“Hello Rose your flowers look amazing” Twilight complimented once she noticed rose gingerly watering her flowers.

“Thank you Twilight” she replied and waved.

Twilight took a left past sugarcube corner and on down the street to Quills and Sofas. She pushed the door open to enter the shop when she Bumped into her friend Rarity. “Oh hello Rarity I didn’t see you there, sorry about that”.

“No need to apologize,” Rarity said turning to face twilight.

“So uh, Rarity what are you doing here”. Twilight asked pleasantly.

“Me why, I’m am here for a new sofa to match the new curtains I made”. She took a breath to recompose herself. “But they don’t seem to have any sofas in deep blue”. Her anger showing through with each word. Twilight pondered this for a second as she thought of what to say next in response of Rarity’s dilemma.

“Oh, I’m sorry Rarity “she said.

“Don’t worry darling it’s not your fault that this place has no sense of fashion”.

Twilight sat and waited in the line until Rarity couldn’t stand to wait any longer “So, Twilight what are you doing here”? Asked Rarity with a sigh.

“I’m here to get some quills for some not taking and after this I might go to sugarcube corner to order chocolate cookies.”

   “Oooo I hope you don’t mind if i could tag along?”

“Sure”. Twilight flashed a gleeful smile

Once Twilight had got to her quill and Rarity had yelled at the cashier they headed to Sugarcube Corner. The sun was at its peak in the sky which meant it was about noon. They had just turned the corner when Fluttershy met them in the street while letting some baby ducks pass the road.  “Hi Twilight, hi Rarity where you off today,” Fluttershy asked with slight whimper.

“We’re off to sugarcube corner “replied Rarity.

“Oh can I, um, come along if that’s …..okay with you that is”.

“Ya sure the more the better” Twilight spouted.

“Thank you Twilight”. The three of them trotted on down the road until they arrived at Sugarcube Corner. Once inside they waited for Mrs. Cake to get to the front counter.

“Sorry girls, we just got a huge order of cakes and stuff, you know how it is”. She said, out of breath as if she had been running for twenty minutes.

“Um well I just need some chocolate cookies”. Twilight said

“Okay than how many do you need?”

“Ah, dozen please”.

“And do you want that in a party box or gift raped or both?”

“No thanks.” Twilight reached into her right saddlebag and pulled out a small coin purse. Mrs. Cake rang up the price.

“That will be eight bits”. Twilight dumped out the bits. ”I’ll have Pinkie bring it out for you”.

“Okay then thanks, and good luck with the order.” Twilight and the girls sat there and waited.

15 minutes later

Pinkie finally came out of the back with cookies skipping the whole way.

“Hi guys”! She shouted “I haven’t seen you in like a whole day; we really need to get out as friends more often you know.” Pinkie could not refrain from having a giant smile on her face. Twilight rolled her eyes and smiled at Pinkie Pie’s incessant babbling. Pinkie put the box on the front counter.

“Pinkie we see each other every day and besides I have other things to be doing right now”. Said Twilight as she picked up the box with her magic. “And have you seen Zecora at all? I went over to her house last night to see if I could barrow a quill till morning, but she wasn't there”. The question hung in the air as Pinkie Pie’s head was flooded with the happening of last night’s zebra kidnapping.

“Um, nope not at all geez I hope she’s alright” Pinkie said trying to sound as sincere as she could but with little effort.

“All right than if you say so”.

“Okie dokie lokie.”
