Celestia chose to take her heavily cloaked dictatorship one step further and remake Equestria in her image, betraying her family and the six mares who looked up to her with awe and respect. Celestial Equestria was hers.

When her sister, Luna, who was shoved aside to govern over a District, pulled her ponies of The Lunar Republic into a rebellion, Celestia punished all of Celestial Equestria terribly. She destroyed The Lunar Republic first, and Luna was never heard of again. As an example to the rest of the country, each of the other twelve districts are required to give up in tribute one young mare and stallion to fight to the death.

The other Princesses were punished as well, however, in a show of superiority, and Twilight Sparkle was stripped of her powers and made another ordinary citizen of the District of New Ponyville. As her friends were carted off to other districts, Twilight prayed to Faust that she would never have to fight them.

But what if she did? Would Twilight die for her friends, or would she be forced to murder them all?

All is not as it seems, however. There is more to this story than a good leader-turned bad. What caused Celestia to seem so uncharacteristically evil? What turned this good soul to ice? Can Twilight ever find her amazing teacher again?
