Two Minds, Two Souls, One Tale
I woke up groggily, letting out a loud groan, giving a quick look around to see where I was. Instead of being on the comfortable cement floor of my basement, I was in the center of a small clearing, with long emerald blades of grass tickling my back, Around me were several different varieties of trees, Probably oak, birch, and a couple scattered coniferous around, and a cloudless light blue sky above me. I let out another loud groan, of all the things to wake up to, not being where you should is probably one of the worst, probably only surpassed by waking up being somewhere familiar and restrained, and waking up trapped in one of those "special" dungeons.
The second thing I noticed as I began to gain more consciousness was the splitting headache I had, Felt like someone rammed a train spike into my skull, then took a couple swings with a sledgehammer. I raised a hand to my head, rubbing in small circles, only to feel a surge of panic, that wasn't a hand! I slowly raised... whatever it was in front of my face, opening my eyes slowly. The sun blinded me for several seconds, making the pain of the headache skyrocket, but soon I adjusted, and saw, of all things, a hoof replacing where my hand should have been.
My breath accelerated as I tried to wrap my head around what I had just saw, a hoof? Was the rest of me like this? I calmed myself, took a deep breath, and looked down. I was so shocked by what I saw I almost lost consciousness again, but as I calmed myself once more, I took a look again, the initial shock out of the way. I saw instead of my gorgeous arms and hands, four legs covered in shaggy brown fur, and shiny black hooves at the end of them. light brown fur coating most of my body. I sighed heavily, and spoke, praying to God that my voice hadn't changed.
"Hello? can anybody hear me? I'm a bit lost" Yep, vocal cords working fine, still had my sarcastic, medium pitched voice, but that wasn't my biggest concern right now, I was on my back, and my curiosity was now piqued. I felt obliged to see the rest of me., although admittedly I probably wouldn't enjoy the result. I readied myself, taking a deep breath, knowing fully that moving in a new, quadrupedal body wasn't going to be easy.
"One, two, three!" I rolled onto my knees, and carefully stood up, noticing a few random objects laying around me, a replica of Twisted Fate's hat, cost me a bundle, but I loved it to death, so i scooped it up and neatly placed it on my head. I also saw my pack, a very large bag with tons of random paraphernalia inside it, and lastly, my aviators. I made a quick mental note that i had all this stuff with me when... something happened and sent me here. In case something like this happened again, I'd need all my stuff, and I didn't want to leave it behind.
I next noted how easy standing was, normally in any cases of fiction I'd read, if a hero got a new body, he was unsteady in it, but it seemed like wasn't. I cautiously took a few steps, once again surprised at how sure I was in this body, It felt so strange, standing and moving with four legs, but I seemed to have no troubles with it. I finished experimenting with walking shortly, and took another look at myself.
I obviously couldn't see my face, but I had a good idea as to what it looked like, as for the rest of me, Let's just say it was less than impressive. I had light brown fur all over my body, and a very short green tail. I next saw something amazing, I saw my wings, or should I say wing. My right wing was fine, with about a one to one and a half meter wingspan, brown, like the rest of me. However, the interesting part was the other wing, at least, what there was of it. A short stub of flesh sat on the left of my back, with bones stretching the skin out. I looked mangled, like some psychopath went at me with a meat cleaver. I had gotten my hopes up for nothing, as it appeared that I would never be able to fly, not like this. As I got over my disappointment I surveyed the rest of me on both of my flanks I had a what appeared to be a steel shield studded in a cross formation with silver, as well as a steel sword with a plain silver hilt.
Up until this point I had been stalling the truth, but at this moment the reality of what I was experiencing slammed into me like a truck, I had turned into something I had spent hours watching, something I had dreamed of meeting, something I had seen countless fanworks of, I had become... a pony, of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I would stay like that for however long fate decreed me to be. I slumped down in defeat and shock, hardly believing it. I started screaming at the sky in frustration, but something cut me off mid-yell, someone had just spoke to me.
"You might wanna stop, these woods don't look particularly friendly, who knows what you might attract to you." The voice chuckled slightly. I jumped up and spun around, looking for whoever spoke, but saw no one
"In my head?!" I shouted, a bit confused as to what was going on
"That's right, I'm in here, and you're out there, I know it's a bit confusing, but I can help, all you need to do is relax, and let go" I frowned skeptically, he sounded pretty cheesy, like an old fortune cookie, or maybe a magic 8-ball "Don't give me that look, I can see what you look like from in here. Look, if you do what I ask, I'll give you an explanation, but not until then"
I was still skeptical, but i did my best to do what he asked. I sat on the grass, and slowly began to "let go" as he put it, but then, something happened, i began to feel what i imagined my soul being torn away from my body felt like. I struggled to fight it, but in the end It was no use, as I faded into unconsciousness, the last thing I heard was my mysterious hijacker shout "Sucker!"
And then everything went black
