"Celestia damn it Vinyl, I thought you said you would stop doing this!" The woman with a posh accent screamed at her DJ girlfriend. "You promised you would stop fooling around with everyone."
"Tavi, I told you that that stuff doesn't mean anything. Besides, you knew I did all this before we started dating. You can't expect me to change how I live because you don't like. For fucks sake I quit drugs for you didn't I?" Octavia crossed her arms and scoffed while looking away. "Please hon, just look at me." Vinyl said in a level voice while reaching for her. Octavia pushed her arm away and made her way to the door. "Octavia, don't just leave. We can talk about this."
"Can we Vinyl?" She said sarcastically. "Every time we talk about our problem, more just come up and most of the time I don't even see a reason to talk about them because you always just go right back to doing it!" She was obviously holding back the tears trying to break out. She opened the door and stepped out before slamming it shut. The last thing Octavia heard was a soft thud from the apartment before she walked down the hall.
Vinyl pulled her fist from the plaster wall and observed the small amount of blood on her hand. She slowly extended and closed her hand into a fist a couple times, causing a few crackings sounds to emit from it. She cursed under her breath before making her way to the bathroom to clean her wounds.
After her hand was cleaned, she dropped back onto her couch and sighed. She lied there for a while before looking at her cell phone on the table. She rubbed her eyes and groaned. She thought hard before grabbing the phone. She dialed numbers with shaky hands, still unsure if she should go through with it. Once the numbers where put in, she stared at the send button. She slapped her face and quickly hit send.
She sat there listening for an answer, unsure whether she wanted her friend to answer or not. Her eyes shot open when she heard the person on the other end answer.
"Crystal, is that you?" Vinyl asked. "I was wondering if you're... still selling?" She waited for the reply. "Would you mind if I swung by? I really need it right now...Alright thanks, I'll be there in about fifteen minutes." She closed the phone and swallowed hard. She could feel her legs go numb from nerves.
She fought off the nerves and stood up and grabbed her old satchel from the back of her closet. She raced outside, not even bothering to lock the apartment.
Vinyl quickly knocked on the door several times. The door swung open revealing an electric blue mare with a pure white mane.
"I heard you the first time." She said.
"Sorry sis, I'm just anxious I guess." Vinyl said rubbing her arm. "So do you have it?" Crystal nodded and invited her sister inside. She lead her to her bedroom and pulled a box out from under her bed.
"This is my private stash. I've got 'Cloud Nine', 'Muzzle Buster'..." Vinyl tuned her out as she went on naming off different types of drugs she had. After a while, she had enough.
"Just give me the strongest cocaine you have for fucks sake!" Vinyl said in a harsher tone than she meant. Crystal was shocked by her sudden outburst and nodded. "I'm sorry sis, I'm just really fucking stressed right now and I need to unwind."
"It's fine, I understand. Here, this is best I have, It's supposed some of the strongest shit out there." Vinyl reached in her bag and pulled out about three bits that equals out to three thousand.
"How much can I get for this?" Crystal looked at the bits and tossed the entire bag to her.
"Don't go off and O.D. on me now." She closed the box and put away. Vinyl hugged her and thanked her before shoving the drugs in her bag. Vinyl stayed around for a drink and explained to her sister before heading back home.
Vinyl slowly opened the door and walked in and tossed her bag on the couch. She went to her room and retrieved her headphones and music player. She played the music that she used to listen to when she always got high. She pulled a razor and the drugs out of her bag and set them on the table. She hunched over and sighed. She took a deep breath before opening the bag and starting cutting it into lines. She cut five long and large lines before tossing the razor to the side. She looked it over and tried to calm her nerves. She pulled a bill out of her pocket and rolled it up. She took a few more deep breaths before leaning forward and doing a line. She closed her eyes and leaned back while snorting whatever was left in her nose. Her eyes shot open as she felt the rush hit her instantly. She smiled wide and started laughing. She hated to admit it but she missed the feeling she got from drugs. Feeling like it wasn't enough, She did another line. The high she had increased to the level she used to. As she let the high set in, she decided she wanted get higher than she ever got.
She snorted one more line and stood up, throwing her hands up in the air and letting out a cheer "I can take on the fucking world!" She tossed her headset to the side and stumbled to her stereo. She fumbled with the controls and put on some the heaviest dubstep she had. She swayed from side to side "dancing" to the heavy bass that filled the room. Stopping for a moment, she stared at the last two lines placed on her table. She slowly sashayed her way to the lines set before her. "Just two more baby." Her breathing started to increase in speed as she leaned forward. Grabbing the bill, she did another. She rubbed her nose as she inhaled whatever was left in her nose went to her brain.
She danced for a few more moments before feeling a sharp headache. She turned down the music in hopes of helping but it did nothing. She still wanted to jam out to music but the speakers had too much bass at the moment even for her. She retrieved her headphones and put them on. She started looking for a calm song that didn't have too much bass. She leaned back in her couch with her eyess closed and let the music flow over her. Cracking one eye open, she looked at the last line. She felt like it was taunting her like it was saying that one more wouldn't hurt. She looked around looking to see if anyone was around. She leaned forward once last time and stared at the line. She placed the bill at the end of the line and she began taking short, ragged breaths. Expelling the air in her lungs and taking one short breath, she snorted the line. She leaned back and relished in her high.
After sitting for a while, she suddenly felt something wasn't right. Her rate increased quickly and her headache only got worse. It went from a pounding headache to a screaming one and her hands were shaking really bad. She soon felt something dripping on her chest. Looking down, she saw blood splotches on both her breasts. She realized how in trouble she truly was, she needed to get out in the open and get help. Attempting to stand up, her balance was flawed and she found herself falling forward. A loud crashing sound echoed throughout the apartment as she went through the glass table. She began pulling herself from the wreckage and noticing the shards of glass in her body. Once out of the glass, she slowly pulled herself towards the door inch by agonizing, painful inch. It soon became too much. Rolling over on her back she accepted her fate. Staring up at the ceiling, she muttered her only true regret that she couldn't fulfill.
"I... I couldn't even say sorry to Octy'." She felt her tears stream down her face as she said that.
Octavia fumbled with her keys as she tried holding the bag of groceries. A while after she stormed out of the apartment she decided that she would make Vinyl and her the best dinner she could make. She opened the door and called out for her girlfriend.
"Vinyl, I'm home. I want to say I'm..." Her eyes crossed her lover laying on the floor covered in blood. "VINYL!" She dropped everything and rushed to her. "Vinyl hold on. I-I will get some help." Before she could move, she felt Vinyl grab her.
"Octy... I'm... I'm..." She choked out her words.
"Save your breath Vinyl. You'll be fine, trust me." Octavia told her in between sobs. 'Damn it hon... Why couldn't you let me make amends'. Octavia felt Vinyl's pulse slow and heard her breath go shallow. "HELP, SOMEONE HELP!" That was the problem with where they lived. They chose an apartment as far away from anyone as possible so they wouldn't get as many noise complaints. Octavia's tears streamed down as her love died in her arms, with her unable to do anything to help.
