The sun was shining into the library; ponies could be seen walking through the aisles grabbing and reading books with magic or hooves. Not many seemed to notice the 3 fillies darting back and forth grabbing books for a purple Alicorn. "Sweetie-bell, can you get me that tome there?" The Alicorn asked politely from her rapidly growing fort of books. Sweetie-bell sighed cutiemark crusaders princess's assistants is harder than it seems she thought looking over at spike no wonder he complains so much. Sweetie-bell grabbed the ancient tome dust flew out of the shelf, sending Scootaloo into an allergy induced sneezing frenzy. "This one Twilight?" The unicorn said holding up the tome dust still shifting its way from between the pages. Twilight beamed as she grabbed the book with her magic, sending a small white unicorn crashing onto the flightless pegasus and yellow earth pony below. Sweetie-coughed as dust settled the small towers of books having been reduced to a small pile of cover bound, paper filled rubble.
Twilight grinned as she made her way into the castle's old mage quarters; her friends were sitting around looking at the many strange magic items in the display cases. Suddenly Pinkie popped out of the nearby pile of books, nearly doubling Twilight over into the gem focused Rarity. "P… Pinkie! Girls can you please stand back I think I found the spell!" The small group of mares turned towards their friend, Rarity was the first to speak. "Twilight I thought that that spell would need a huge magical matrix or… “The lavender alicorn stared blankly at her friend "Rarity of all ponies I thought you would be able to pick it up..."
Twilight’s horn began to glow, a small beam of purple light hit the floor and soon the room was filled with a pastel blue light. The ponies looked around at the large magic rune that filled the entirety of the room’s stone floor. Applejack soon gathered the furniture in the hall outside the small enchanted room; this caused annoyance to soon passing guards but was no obstacle to the cutiemark crusaders who decided to stand next to Rarity, curiosity enveloping the children's minds.
"Now girls…" "And Dragons!" Spike said popping up out of the darkness with a small spark of green flame. "…and dragons, I've called you here today because I believe I have found a way to banish the wendigos that still haunt the northern plains of equestria!" Twilight said triumphantly. Her friends stayed quiet used to her attachment to the normal procedures of a showing of magic. "Now rainbow dash may I borrow a feather," "all right" the pegasus reached down to her wing and plucked one of the cyan feathers that helped her fly so well.
Twilight levitated the feather into one of the small circles on the floor. “Now I need you all to stand back this magic is old and could be an untested spell…" Twilight said as her horn began to glow with its usual purple hue, within moments the room began to fill with a strange aura that whipped about the hair of the on looking ponies. Magical spheres began to float around the alicorn who now encased in the spell began to speak in the ancient equestrian tongue. "Allina gralin nalitac relindon" she chanted this phrase as the spheres began to spin faster and faster causing a small vortex begin to appear suddenly the alicorn was flung into her dearest friends.
Twilight looked up as her friends groaned; she saw a small silhouette in the dust. Soon applejack's voice broke the silence "What do you reckon that is Twilight?" Twilight slowly walked across the room shining her light on the shadowed object. "It’s a filly..."....

23 years later...
Barely a sound echoed through the empty halls, only the occasional crash of glass as some of the final pieces of the stained glass windows smash into the courtyard below sending sparling shards of glass into the overgrown brush. Babs slowly makes her way through the ruined the library tomes turning to ash as she breaks their fragile stability. She breaks her way into the secret chamber where it all began, leading her small band inside.
The matrix of magical symbols still glowed through the dust and soot covered floor. "Babs!" She jumped at the unexpected sound, "Thank Celestia your still ok." Babs smiled at the 3 cloaked ponies in front of her, slowly one by one they tore of their hoods. Babs smiled as she took in the faces of her fellow crusaders. "Sweetie-bell I know its been a long time but we could be found at any time…" she put small amulet into Sweetie-bell's hoof. "I know its our only hope but Zecora warned me, that amulet…"
"we know the risks, Scootaloo make sure that the Pegasus feather is exactly placed in the center of the cloud symbol" Sweetie-bell said as she calmly compared the tome to the glowing rings in front of her. Within a few minutes everything seemed to match the tomes exact instructions, Scootaloo turned to Applebloom " I guess this is the last hope huh…" Applebloom looked down and nodded. Sweetie-bell slowly brought the Alicorn amulet to her neck and snapped the small clasp together. immediately Sweetie-bell's horn began to glow enveloping the room in a small white glow, and slowly everything began to melt away as the spell took hold.
As broken glass and wood twisted around the spell bound unicorn the ceiling began to crack and fall there was a crash and then the spell burst sending a wave of energy radiating outward, and then all was still.
