Simon doesn't remember a thing. After waking up in a strange room, and told that he has some mission to complete in a place called Ponyvile, he's not sure he even wants to. Receiving the occasional glimpse of his past, Simon figures out more about himself each day, and discovers more about his mission as well as the voice that dropped him in Equestria in the first place.
