After being praised by Spitfire for showing that she knows what it really takes in order to be a leader, Rainbow Dash has been viewed as a promising future leader from her peers (especially by Thunderlane) and trainers alike. Ever since that day, Rainbow Dash took great pride after finally being recognized for her talents....so why hasn't she been rightfully promoted into a full member of the Wonderbolts?

Two weeks since the promotion of Rainbow Dash, NOTHING ELSE has happened with with the mare's status! She continues to improve while continuing to impress her hero Spitfire , who has yet to give her the full ranking status of a Wonderbolt! Now Rainbow Dash may be a bit impatient, but she feels that after all of the history she's had with Spitfire, you would think that she would have been 'content' enough by this point! Performing well in the Best Young Flyer Competition, hanging out at the Galloping Gala, and of course, leading with the Ponyville Waterspout!

Rainbow Dash decides that she must have another 'meeting' with the sergeant in order to have another shot at 'convincing her'. Unfortunately however, Spitfire was having one of those 'personal days' with her boyfriend Soarin by the time Rainbow Dash walked into the office...

To make matters worse, Thunderlane just happens to feel that he's not getting enough attention as well. He may have respect for Rainbow Dash, but that does not mean that he does not view himself as the best male cadet in the academy. Watching Rainbow Dash get ahead of him has not only made him envy her, but actually view that as a attracting factor. Naturally, Thunderlane wants to impress Rainbow Dash just as much as she impressed him, leading into a bad timing walk-in as well...
