Chapter 1: The Mysterious Bright Eyes
Fluttershy was walking on a path towards her house, a bag of feed on her back. She kept walking until a loud crash behind her made her jump and nearly drop the bag of food. "Letter for Miss Fluttershy!" Fluttershy turned around to see the mail mare, and blinked in surprise.
Derpy Hooves was staggering a bit from her crash, her wings flared a bit goofily. She shook her head clear though, her eyes seeming to spin in place. She trotted over, handing Fluttershy the letter. "Here you are Miss Fluttershy!" The malemare chirped. Fluttershy took the letter, smiling at Derpy. "Thank you..um..oh dear, I'm so sorry, but I don't know your name." Derpy grinned. "No worries! My name's Bright Eyes! But everyone calls me Ditzy Doo or Derpy!" Fluttershy blinked again. "Thank you Bright Eyes, and you have a good day." Derpy nodded. "You too Miss Fluttershy!" With that she tore off to deliver another letter.
When Fluttershy fed her animals, and settled on her couch, a steaming tea cup on the table, she opened the letter from her mother, which was just a typical letter from her guardian, but her true thoughts were that about the male mare a few minutes ago. She thought about what she was typically called bye everyone else, and in her mind at least they didn't seem that nice. With a strengthened resolve, Fluttershy did her evening chores, and headed to bed, determined to get to know the mysterious Bright Eyes.
