Knock knock knock. Lyra knocked on the door to Fluttershys cottage. "Hello?" Asked Fluttershy. "Hi Fluttershy, its me, Lyra."Lyra replied. "Oh, whats wrong? Fluttershy asked." "Nothing, nothing." Said Lyra. "I was just wondering if you could help me pick out a pet for tomorrows fathers day? Please?" "Oh, of course" said Fluttershy "Come in. So what animal do you think your father would like?" "Definetly one that can be by his side in his library, but one that can be quiet when told. He also needs to be-" "Ok, I think I know what your dad might want" interrupted Fluttershy. "A canary might work." "But won't it be flying around the library disturbing guests?" Lyra asked. "Oh no." Said Fluttershy. "If the canary is caged it won't fly around." "Sweet! Thanks! Heres 30 bits, is that enough?"
"Oh no." Fluttershy said."as long as you're adopting, there is no price" said Fluttershy. "Are you kidding? Awesome! I can't thank you enough"said Lyra"Here you go"said Fluttershy as she handed a caged canary over to Lyra. I'm sure your dad will like him" "I'm sure of it too" said Lyra.
Lyra was happy the bird fell asleep on the train ride to Canterlot, so it wouldn't disturb any of the other passengers. As the train pulled up to the station, Lyra checked that the canary was still in its cage. "Uh oh" proclaimed Lyra "the birds not asleep any more! At least I won't have to whisper when I talk to dad." As Lyra was trotting into the library, she noticed a sign that read 'closed'. "I wonder why the library is closed?" Lyra said. "I'm gonna go in any way." And she did. Thankfully, her dad was in there, so Lyra could give him his fathers day gift."DAAAAAAAD! ITS ME!!"Lyra shouted."I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU!!"
"Lyra? Is that really you?"Mr.Heartstrings asked." Here to visit me?" "Hi dad." Lyra said as she walked towards him. "This is your fathers day gift!" Oh Lyra, sweetie, you didn't have to get me anything." Said Mr.Heartstrings "I'm too old for presents" "Well I got you this anyway!" Lyra unveiled the cage "A canary! How thoughtful! Thank you Lyra" Mr.Heartstrings said. "So dad, ehat do you think you'll name her?"

Third time typing this chapter!
"Hey Twilight" said Lyra as she trotted into the Golden Oaks Library.
"Hi Lyra, what can I do for you today?" replied Twilight.
"I would like to buy, not borrow, but buy a book from you." said Lyra."Would you let me?"
"Of course I would" Twilight said "Whats the occation?"
"How did you know there was an occasion?" asked Lyra.
"Well," said Twilight " you never come to my library, so I just figured."
"Its for Fathers day" Lyra said.
"Oh. Well in that case, take a book for free" said Twilight.
"Thanks!" said Lyra. "I'll come back tomorrow. I have to see what book he wants."
"Wow Lyra, You really have things planned out"
"Yeah, I really haven't payed much attention to my dad since I moved to Ponyville.
"Said Lyra."I'm sure your dad will like the fact that your doing this for him" Twilight said.
The next day, Lyra ran into the Golden Oaks Library as fast as she could go. "Twilight, TWILIGHT!!!!!" Yelled Lyra.
"Lyra, whats wrong!!?"Twilight demanded as she rushed down the stairs of the Golden Oaks. "Its---terrible---"Lyra managed between heavy breaths." My---dad---said---to---suprise---him!!"
"Well, thats no problem" said Twilight "We can just order a new shipment of books. And don't ever scare me like that AGAIN!!!!!!!"
"Sorry Twilight, I didn't know you can just do that" apologized Lyra.
"Its okay." Twilight said forgivingly.
"When do you think the shipment will come in?" Asked Lyra.
"Well, if I order it today, the shipment will come in in about... two days." Said Twilight
"SWEET!!"Said Lyra "Just in time for fathers day!"
Two days later, Lyra curiously trotted into the Golden Oaks, making sure she wouldn't run in and yell. "Twiiiiiilight, are the books in yet?"
"Uhhhh... No" said Twilight "For some reason, the shipment didn't come in yet."
"Hmmmmm, we appear to have a mystery on our hoofs. What do you say Twilight? Lyra deducted.
" Uhhh, I still really don't know."
"Twilight?" Asked Lyra.
"Yes Lyra?"
"I've never heard you say 'uhhh' before. Whats wrong?"
"Oh, silly Lyra. Nothings wrong." Twilight said nervously.
"Mmmhhmmm" said Lyra. "Are you trying to hide something?"
"No, of course not. What could I be hiding anyway?" Said Twilight.
"Well, I don't-"
"Alright, it was me!" confessed Twilight
"It was you what?" Asked Lyra, confused.
"I canceled the shipment. I'm just so envious of your dad, his library is so much bigger"said Twilight
"I can't believe you Twilight. Now I don't have a present for Fathers day."said Lyra
"I feel so bad now, I'm so sorry."apologized Twilight.
"Never mind a book, I'll just go to Fluttershy and get him a pet." And then Lyra stomped off.
