CHAPTER 4: CONVINCED
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pinkie's eyes widened even more as she tried to stop herself from being so tempted to try it on.
"No-no-no-no-no-no-no-no! This is NOT what I am supposed to be doing!" Pinkie screamed. "But... the most powerful thing in Equestria... oh that is just SO TEMPTING!"
The pony was getting so temped, she didn't even hesitate about her friends. Pinkie just laughed and said, "Oh, Pinkie! What are you thinking! You know that you can't possibly rule Equestria with this thing!" Pinkie shuffled her hooves. "Oh... but... ARGH!" She was beginning to get frustrated with herself. It was like there was two people in her head.
"Do it..." the voice called out.
"STOP IT!" She yelled. "STOP STOP STOP STOP IT!"
"Try the amulet on, Pinkie... you'll be so powerful... *hiss...*"
It was true. She had two other PEOPLE in her brain. One evil, yet so clever. Pinkie was so close to trying on the amulet, and she wanted to rule Equestria now, too.
"Do it now... Rule Equestria! You can have power over all those *peasants, and you can make them your **slaves too.*" the voice hissed.
Pinkie held her hooves to her ears and shouted once again, "STOP IT! YOU MEANIE MEAN MEANIE PANTS! I WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU!" She ran in circles in her room and tripped. Her messy hair fell in her face as she tried to stop from listening to the terrible voice. "You're like... the monster inside me..." she whispered. "Please... stop." She hated how this voice always spoke to her, and it was getting so tense. Pinkie just wanted it to stop. The voice started only a week ago, and seemed to just disappear... until now.
"Please, I beg of you. Why are you doing this to me..." a tear fell down her cheek. She just hated it so much.
"You're stupid... you need my help to rule over this dumb place. You're the true ruler of this land... put it on, Pinkie. You can rule every one of these idiots... *morons.**" the voice once again hissed at her. The thing is, the voice inside her head wants Equestria only to *herself, and she's going to use Pinkie to do it.
Pinkie couldn't stand it. Her hair popped and it went directly straight. She talked in a low, glum voice. "Make it... stop."
The voice inside her head seemed satisfied with this. "I want you... to put it on."
"I... I... can't," The voice inside her head is herself, only... her evil side. "We have to wait till the right time to strike our enemies..." She smiled insanely. She was under the voice's spell. She was convinced that she would rule Equestria. And with the voice's help, she's going to get it.
LATER THAT NIGHT...
"What do we do now?" Pinkamena's voice came from a bush in the pure darkness.
"I don't know, Miss Pinkamena..." the voice hissed.
Pinkamena stared at up her forehead. "Did you just call me Miss Pinkamena?" She said with disgust.
"Are you deaf? Of course I did, idiot."
Pinkamena punched her forehead. "Shut up or I'll purposely give you a headache," Pinkamena crept forward and slowly slid behind Twilight's library. "I think they're having a party in there. We have to go in. You know, usual Pinkie stuff. Show 'em we're not up to no good..."
"Yes, but how are we supposed to get your *hair** like the way Pinkie had it?"* the voice replied.
"Hmm... It seem we'll just have to disguise it... or you can make me happy and shut up."
"I'll shut up," the voice stopped talking. "It's not working. We have to pretend you got... mad or something. Your friends will cheer you up."
"Okay... If it doesn't work, you're getting that headache!" Pinkamena gasped loudly and tried to sound as mean and sad as possible. "How is this?" She said.
"Fine, keep that up and you'll be Pinkie again in no time!"
Pinkamena walked into the library, trying to look as sad and mean as possible, too. Twilight trotted over to her and smiled, then she frowned. "Pinkie, are you okay?" Twilight cocked her head to the side and just stared at Pinkamena in the eyes.
"Oh, I'm... fine." She said kind of mean.
"You sound like you really need some cheering up... What happened?" Twilight grabbed her by the hoof and they started walking to the punch bowl. "Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy are here. Isn't that nice?" Twilight just smiled again at Pinkamena.
"No..." Pinkamena gritted her teeth, not liking this one bit.
"What is the matter with you? Did you have a really bad day or something? You're never this... mean!" Twilight frowned at her once again. "Let's just..." she took a deep breath. "Let's just go meet the others, okay?" Pinkamena and Twilight arrived at the punch bowl where they greeted their friends.
"Oh my stars, darling! Whatever happened to your mood, dear? You seem... sad." Rarity told Pinkamena.
"Oh my, you do look a little in the blues today, Pinkie." Fluttershy said.
"You sure look a little down in the dumps today, Pinkie!" Applejack replied
"Ditto." Rainbow Dash just folded her arms and was flying in place in the air.
"I'm just... a little... sad?" Pinkamena tried the best she could to try to convince her friends that there was nothing wrong with her, but this was getting a little pointless. "I have to go, I'm sorry. I swear that I'll be back though. I'm just... um... a little down in the dumps, that's all... hehe."
