Darkness was all that was seen, pure darkness clouding the room with its blank slate of sightless opposition. There was to be seen in this darkness, nothing but the feeling of the walls in the claustrophobic room. Brad tried to remember how he ended up here and where he was. The room deathly silent, no noise came around indicating any of the infected were anywhere near him. He thought to himself about the days that come and gone.
He walked along the walls of the pitch black room thinking to himself.
The memories of everything was coming back, he remembered the time of his world. There was only one season that was full of joy, admiration, and hope. He was depressed to think about how his life was before that one season came along. That season brought him hope and revitalized his life, and most of all, it gave him a purpose to look to forward to his own future. That life was long gone and all he sees now is nothing, nothing but a dark passage leading to anywhere he would've guessed. He was thrilled to still be alive. The infected surely would've heard him and torn him apart.
They were the most morbid things he's ever seen. News about the infected started the day it happened. There was a scientific corporation, they were called, HB. The full name was forgotten in the deep abyss of his thoughts. They were experimenting with the concept of alternate universes. It was was when portal warped the reality of the world around him and the parallel world they had tapped.
Soon, everything changed. There were infected humanoids from this alternate world that occupied the alternate earth. No humans from that world survived, it was only the infected. The scientific Corporation tried to subdue the infected to the best of their ability, but they were too resilient to any weapons they brought against them. Within a week, the country soon succumbed to the numbers of the infected, turning our own people into them.
The HB Corporation made one desperate attempt once again to send the infected back into their world. It failed, they soon realized the probability of tapping the same world was astronomical, and it lead into another world. It was a very colorful world that felt invigorating as the season that this earth experienced.
Their attempts became futile when a ray of light came from this world, and destroyed the tractor beam that tore a hole in reality. Soon, everything changed and became more distorted. Both worlds have combined into one universe, and it went downhill. Both worlds suffered the wrath of the infected.
Brad saw a light and head out to meet Angelina, who saw him fall down the elevator shaft into the water. She told him they had to run. The infected have heard the commotion and are looking for them. They continued to run for their lives and happened onto an old truck, Brad thought it was lucky to find the door unlocked. They both entered the truck and drove off, leaving a great distance between them and the infected.
Angelina was a young girl, she was born after the terrifying events had happened. She grew up with her mother, and she's only known the world as it is. Her life was only about running and surviving. They were a part of a group of survivors. Brad was once a part of the survivors who killed other survivors. He gave that up long ago when he met Angelina, hoping to save her from an inevitable doom if she stayed with the survivors.
She lost her mother against the infected, and the group was eventually killed off by people that Brad used to be with. The two of them ran off on their own, to survive the terror of the post-apocalyptic world.
It was on that fateful day when they heard from a working radio about the resistance. They listened closely to their broadcast about the world.
They were called the FyreFlyes, and their mission was to stop HB, which had become militarized and overthrew the government in the chaos that ensued long ago. HB had become infamous in its tactics on the infected and the survivors. The FyreFlyes sounded like the best hope that Brad could offer Angelina. Even the he never heard about the anonymous leader of the FyreFlyes, It was a new home. Protected and barred from the infected, the savages, and the corporation. He promised to show her world where only one season existed. She was only exposed to a whole with four seasons. They continued to drive on into the freeway, the only way out of the city, but into a dangerous territory. The alternate world that combined with earth.
They called themselves ponies in this world, but the infected didn't care nonetheless. They were nearly obliterated, but they managed survive. But Brad couldn't be trusting of these ponies. They looked almost to similar to the infected, despite being from different worlds. The two of them had no choice but to trust their instincts and hoped for the best.
Angelina looked around the back seat of the truck to find anything important. She found a bag and brought in her lap, she dug around inside and found a tape cassette. Brad was surprised to see that, and saw her putting the tape cassette into the player. It played an old song, that was before his time.
They listened to it for almost an hour when Brad and Angelina stopped at a dead end, the road was blocked off by many cars. There was an opening turning right off the freeway. She wanted him to go along that road since it was the only way. Brad had a bad feeling about this, but then he continued anyway.
They drove along into the suburbs of an abandoned pony town when Brad and Angelina saw a stallion in front of them. He was screaming help and yelled out in pain. But Brad knew what he was doing. He's done it before, and told Angelina to buckle up. He floored in the gas pedal and headed fast to the stallion. The stallion saw their cover was blown, and then more ponies came out from the abandoned vehicles and attacked.
Brad hit him head on and the stallion rolled over the hood. The other ponies chased after them trying to block their path. Then out of nowhere, a bus came rolling out as though it came from nowhere, and it smashed into the truck. Brad lost control and Angelina screamed. They crashed into one of the pony buildings.
Immediately, a stallion grabbed Brad and pulled him out of the truck. Angelina was pulled out by another pony. Brad started fighting the stallion with all of his strength. The stallion pushed him up against the broken, trying to get glass to cut into his neck. Then Brad elbowed the stallion in his face and pulled out his revolver. He shot the stallion four times.
He then hurried after Angelina and shot two rounds. It luckily hit one of them in the face and the pony let go of Angelina. She ran toward Brad, and they stood around looking at the ponies closing in on them. Brad thought to himself, it was very different from fighting the infected. These ponies were violent.
