The Wasteland takes everything you have and more, until most are ready to hit the bottle or the next fix of chems just to escape, Stables constructed before the war razed the world in balefire and megaspells were meant to save ponies and find a better way, more often than not they failed…
Stable Sixteen, a repository of knowledge from around the world compiled by Stable-Tec and a safe haven for any sentient creature with the bits to secure a spot, had been sealed for a hundred and fifty years. The door opened to allow a scouting party out to find signs of life, they never returned and the Stable re-sealed.
Forty years have passed and Arioso, a half zebra unicorn gets… volunteered for scouting duty when he quickly becomes wrapped up in a conflict with something that he'd only ever read about in fairy tales…

Introduction

The final day of the great war saw not just Equestria and Zebrica, but the entire world, ravaged by Balefire and Megaspells wrought by both pony and zebra hooves. The world became a blasted and irradiated waste uninhabitable and hostile to any life, the only survivors were sealed away in enormous underground shelters known as Stables. These marvels of pre-war industry and technology were originally designed with only one purpose in mind, saving ponies. As the war dragged on some of the Stables were redesigned for various purposes, social projects and experiments to find a better way were incorporated into many of them. Stable Sixteen was one of the few exceptions, the sole change to the layout of Stable Sixteen was to add "The Repository", a collection of all the knowledge of the world. The vast undertaking was nearly complete when the Stable was sealed. For nearly two hundred years Sixteen has been cut off from the outside world, safe and secure behind the great gear shaped steel door. The wasteland is a hostile and unforgiving place and soon the door will open...
