The kingdom of Whitefall, a long-standing bastion to the east of what is now modern day Equestria. Founded eons before the rise and rule of the alicorn sisters, Whitefall was a proud kingdom, ruled by a succession of benevolent monarchs. But dark forces conspire to bring down the monarchy and reduce Whitefall to ruins.

This story is heavily inspired by the lyrics of the song 'Viva la Vida' by Coldplay, with chapter titles taken from lyrics. The chapters will be ordered according to lyrics, and as such will not be in chronological order. To clarify where in the timeline different chapters fall, the story is separated into four rough eras; the Age of Benevolence, the Age of Descent, the Age of Tyranny, and the Age of Rebirth. Each section will clearly state which era it falls in.

Most of the story will be told from King Juras' point of view, however, some sections will come from other points of view.
