As Valus fell, he knew he was going to die. He thought about all of his useless wandering, all of the wasted time in the Valus Mountains. He prayed he would be forgiven, and that he would join the Colossi before him at Colossarock, the home of deceased Colossi. As he died, his last thought was that he would be the last of his fellow Colossi to fall.
Then, Valus opened his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that he was in a forest, rather, towering above it, and most certainly wasn't dead. Valus couldn't believe it. This obviously wasn't Colossarock, and certainly not the Valus Mountains. Was this The Realm of Punishment? Not knowing where he was, Valus set out, desperate to discover where he was.
"Today is the day, Cutie Mark Crusaders! Ah can just FEEL it! Today, we're gonna get our cutie marks in... Wildlife Photagraphy!" Applebloom exclaimed to her fellow crusaders, Babs Seed included.
"Soooo... What are we gonna call ourselves?" Sweetie Belle inquired.
"I have an idea!" Babs spoke up, excited with the awesomeness of the name she had come up with. "We're gonna call ourselves the-"
BOOM.
The very earth shook as the four fillies looked around, trying to see what would have caused such a gigantic tremor. They were in a part of the Everfree Forest; but remained close to Zecora's hut. Some tree limbs fell, and so did a tree.
"What... could have done that?" Scootaloo asked, not expecting anypony to answer.
"An Ursa?" Sweetie Belle said.
"An Minor or a Major?" Applebloom responded.
"Girls, I think that it's not an Ursa." Babs said as she saw an unbelievably massive figure towering in the distance.
"Then what?!" Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle asked simultaneously.
"Over there! In the distance!" Babs exclaimed nervously as the gigantic figure got even closer. The small filly could see two eyes the size of an apple tree peering out. The figure also had hair. A lot of hair. "That's what we should record! Have we got everything?"
"I brought the wagon and my scooter!" Scootaloo answered.
"I brought fabric!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Ah've got the camera!" Applebloom exclaimed excitedly.
Scootaloo got onto her scooter, waited for the other three Crusaders, and when they were in, she shouted along with her fellows:
"LET'S GO!"
Valus was happy.
This place was certainly superior to Colossarock, and filled the mighty Valus with curiosity, wonder, and a feeling of peace. The trees beneath him were massive and healthy, while flocks of birds flew overheard, their harmonious chirping adding to Valus's joy. Then, he heard three voices. Four, tiny voices that must have belonged to female children, saying one thing. Each voice had a different accent, and Valus's hearing (which was superior to all of his fellow Colossi) had caught them all saying two words:
"LET'S GO!"
Valus wasn't afraid; in fact, he was happy to know that there was intelligent life here. Then, he saw what he had believed spoken.
Horses.
The fuck?! Horses couldn't talk! Or... maybe these ones had evolved the ability to speak. They were definitely young, and definitely female. Valus didn't mind. Even so, he was curious. There were four of these horses; one had wings, another had a horn, and the remaining two were perfectly normal. Valus realized that the winged one must have been a Pegasus, while the horned one was a Unicorn. Valus facepalmed. Of all the places I could have gone, it had to be a fairy tale or Saturday morning cartoon.
Despite this, Valus didn't mind. He looked perfectly normal, and decided to let the horses film him all they wanted.
Fast forward a few hours...
The young horses were fleeing, so Valus picked up the pace. As he trailed the tiny creatures, he noticed what seemed to be a farm in the distance. Since he also had the best sight of all of the Colossi, Valus could see that the trees were apple trees. Of course, horses loved apples! Even so, he became distracted when he heard the younger horses screaming. He heard them screaming things such as, "It's following us!", "Faster, Scootaloo!", and "I'm scared." Valus didn't really care; he should have anticipated this. He decided to slow down, and watched as the small horses outpaced him quickly. Valus decided to simply trudge along as he had been doing before, and observed the peaceful landscape as he marched forward.
"It's slowing down!" Babs exclaimed as she saw the mammoth biped stop running. However, the small filly's fears were rekindled when she saw the gargantuan, hairy creature march forward as it had been doing before. "We'll, it's following us, but it's not running anymore!" Then, Babs realized that they had stopped moving, and when she took her eyes off of the Goliath, she could see why.
Timberwolves.
Several of them had blocked the way to Sweet Apple Acres. The wooden beasts snarled, and charged. By sheer luck, however, Scootaloo managed to get herself and the others out of the way, and they raced onward. Applebloom saw Applejack in the distance; she seemed to be teaching her friends how to buck apple trees.
Applebloom called out, "APPLEJACK!"
"Alright, gals, let's see how good yah can be! Now, pick a tree and-"
"APPLEJACK!"
The orange mare turned to see her younger sister and her friends fleeing from Timberwolves. Applejack turned to Rarity, Twilight, Rainbow, Fluttershy, and Pinkie, and said, "Alright, gals, we've got a problem. My sister and her friends are being chased by Timberwolves. Y'all know what to do!"
The Mane Six or, rather, all of them excluding Fluttershy nodded and got ready. Applejack turned around, and saw that Applebloom, Babs, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle had abandoned the scooter and wagon, and the four fillies ran past their older companions, taking shelter behind a nearby tree. Twilight fired a blast of magic at the Timberwolves, which exploded. Even so, there were so many of them that they combined to make three Giant Timberwolves.
One lunged forward, snatched the CMC in its mouth, and quick as a speeding bullet took them to his fellow wolves, and dropped the three tiny fillies in the middle.
"Well, it's been mighty nice knowing all of you." Babs whimpered as she began to cry. The other three Crusaders simply hugged each other.
"We need to stop them!" Twilight exclaimed.
"You don't say?!" Rainbow responded.
Then, a mighty voice that seemed to come from the crust of the earth itself said, "THERE IS NO NEED."
Then, above the Timberwolves, a massive, stone hammer whooshed down, and crushed the Giant Timberwolves. When the hammer went back up, there was practically nothing left.
The Mane Six looked up, and were stunned by what they saw.
The creature was unbelievably massive. It seemed to be made out of solid stone, and had a massive amount of hair on its face. Two gigantic eyes peered down, looking down at the ponies before it.
Twilight, awed, simply said to the creature, "Who are you?"
"Wow....." Was all anypony could say when Valus had finished his story. The Colossus had decided to tell the entire story, from beginning to end truthfully, and he had pulled it off.
Twilight asked, "So, you died before you came here?"
"YES."
