Discovery

"AJ! Mails here. Ya got a box sis'," AppleBloom's calls out from down stairs curiosity staining her voice. AJ knew that if she didn't go and get the box now Applebloom would open it and either keep it or never give her a moments peace about what it is.

“Be righ’ there,” she threw on her signature stelson and almost ran straight into her closed door and trip down the stairs. The family didn't get much mail so her curiosity was out weighing her sisters. When she did reach the bottom a flat box was sitting on her sisters back who was waiting for her.

“It came wi’h this,” she handed AJ a note and put down the box with wide eyes. AJ read the note just not aloud. It said,

Applejack,

Its nice to be able to give you this small gift. Now i warn you it can give any knowledge you want. But theres is a cost. Do not share this gift with anypony. This is for you only and only you can know it exists. I understand your family knows you have received it so there are two things in that box. The false gift and the real one. You will just know which is the real one.

She opened the box and as the note said there were two gifts inside. One she recognized and one she didn't. She took out the one she recognized and closed the box. Its was a very expensive saddle bag. She could see her sisters eyes go wide and the grin on her face fade.

“Thats it. Ah means its nice and shinny and all but Ah was expectin’ something better,” Mac glare at her silenced any father comments. “Wha’ tha note say?”

“Ah’ll just take this up stairs and go ta bed. Ah’m tuckered out. Night,” she scurried up the stairs completely ignoring her sisters question and curiosity making her almost explode as she closed the door and opened up the box taking out the mysterious object.

It was smooth, flat, and silvery. On it was a apple with a smooth bite mark in it. When she opened it up the flat black material lit up and below it read ‘Macbook Air’. The first thing she saw on the page was a colorful background of her smiling with a rainbow tail in her mouth and a heart above her head. Rainbow Dash blushing but sulking willingly.

“Oh... Ok!” She murmured before she went back to looking at the strange device.

Below the ‘picture’ was a bunch of letters and symbols as well as a square made of a different material and the rest of the bottom part. When she ran her hoof over the square a little arrow on the picture moved. When she guided it to the bottom of the page a bunch of little boxes popped up. She clicked on the one that looked like a circle. It had three different colors wrapped around a blue circle. It said it was called Chrome!

The only thing in the history was a ‘website’. http://www.fimfiction.net/group/956/appledash, she clicked on it and gasped with a evil grin on her face. Her  brain filled with only one thing. An idea.
