Chapters As Celestia awakes, I sit and watch the slowly dying fire. She goes through her normal morning routine of standing up and stretching each hoof one by one. I've seen this routine at least a million times by now. I begin to open my mouth to say something, but have no idea how to even bring up the abandoned hut that I had found. Until an idea hits me, "Celestia maybe I can lead the way for a bit." She looks at me with a skeptical face, and just shrugs too tired to argue. I begin to walk towards the hut, retracing my steps from the night before. I even reenact the part where I jumped from when a Timberwolf's howl scared me. Celestia chuckles as I do that, but becomes silent as we turn the corner and find the hut.
Still sitting in almost complete silence, the only sound coming from the birds high above. Celestia begins to start looking around the hut and investigating. I sit back and silently watch her closely. She knocks on the door, we hear hoofsteps as a pony comes to the door. A stallion slowly opens the door and I can see that he is a Green maned, white Unicorn with big blue sunglasses. As I gawk at him, my sister and him begin to talk, but I can't make out what they are saying. Finally Celestia walks over to me. "He didn't tell me his name, just that we can live if here if needed." she says.
"What if he is dangerous?" I reply worried.
"He is on our side Luna he dislikes Discord just as much as us."
I nod and we walk over to the Stallion. "We will stay!" my sister exclaims. The Stallion just nods. He hasn't said a word since I had got into listening distance. The pony opens the door the rest of the way and we all walk inside.
He has more then enough knickknacks hanging on the walls and shelves. I begin to look at a particular piece that interests me. I study it very closely. A necklace that is gold and has a crescent moon attached to it. There is another just like it next to it, but instead of a moon has the sun. I begin to turn around to ask, but the stallion is already standing next to me, I could've sworn he was in the other room. "I see my necklace has caught thy eye, there on the shelf it lies," he talks in rhyme and it was sorta odd. "I like the moon on it," I say just to break the awkward silence.
"The moon you see, is what you shall be."
"I'd like to control the moon, but my sister says that is impossible. That only Discord can control the moon."
"This is true, but not if Discord is defeated by you."
I walk away from the shelf and go to the room the kind pony is letting us stay in and begin to think. I mull over everything that he had said. The moon you see, is what you shall be. What in the hoof could that even mean? Yet alone him saying I could control the moon! If I controlled the moon who would control the sun? With so many questions I still had and both Celestia and the stallion away in Ponyville getting supplies. I drift off to sleep.
I slowly awake to see that it is now night outside and that Celestia has returned. I slowly get up and stretch and decide to walk out to the other room and grab an apple. I quietly begin to tiptoe towards the cupboard, trying my best to not wake the sleeping unicorn hanging from a hammock above. I look up above to see if he is there and I see that he is gone. A bright burst of magic flies by the window and I quickly dart outside.
Once outside I quickly begin to look around to see what I can, Discord is here! The overlord of Equestria has shown up and is in a magic duel with the stallion. He takes one look at me and points at his neck with his hoof then at the room with my sleeping sister in it. I honestly have no idea what it was supposed to mean so I run back inside and quickly shake my sister, who is reluctant to get up. "Celestia please get up! Discord is here!" I plead. I continue to shake her and she finally awakes and sees Discord at the one window this room has and quickly darts to the other room. I follow close behind trying to not get in the way. She grabs the moon and sun necklaces and quickly puts the moon one on me and drags me outside. I'm trembling with fear, Celestia finally decides to speak, "I have the necklaces now what?" she asks frantically to the stallion.
"Put them on you shall see, that there is no where left to flee. Maybe its time to fulfill your destiny's," he blurts out, that awful rhyming once again means I have no idea what he means. Celestia quickly takes action and is using her magic for some reason or another. I feel something take hold of me as I begin to float in the air, Celestia by my side. A big burst of light comes out of both necklaces, and they shatter. The one hope for Equestria gone, or at least why I think is our only hope.
I land on the ground with a hard thud. Celestia slowly levitates down, and lends me a hoof to get up. "Your precious amulets are a joke," he chuckles. I see that shattered remains to shimmer, but a large light comes out of the stallions horn and blinds everyone.
I go to look back where the amulets were and they are gone. I begin to cry thinking Discord has one and it is all over. A purple cloud of smoke flies by my head. I jump in terror of it, not knowing what it is. As I jump I land on a sharp piece of gold and see six amulets on the ground. I begin to feel cheer as light blue cloud of smoke flies by me, then an orange one, then a yellow, pink and last, but surely not least white. The clouds begin to take the shape of six ponies all gathered around the Unicorn Stallion. There are two of each type of pony. Two unicorns, two pegasi, and two earth ponies. The six amulets attach themselves to the spirits, making them come to life. I slowly take a step forward, but the orange one speaks, "Stay back der' Princess." I obey the pony or spirit or whatever it is. A rainbow burst comes from the six ponies and turns Discord to stone.
The big cloud of smoke finally clears, and I notice the six ponies have all vanished back into thin air. Still observing I hear Celestia crying and quickly run to her. About halfway to her I see her sobbing over a dead body, and its not one of the spirits or Discord, but the green haired unicorn. I'm not even all the way to them and I am on my knees sobbing. The generous pony who shared his home with us is now dead.
Celestia is now standing beside me, hugging me tightly. Something seems different about Celestia though, her hooves don't feel normal and I think she is wounded badly. The moon falls, but the sun hasn't come up. Terrified, Celestia and I walk into Ponyville. Everypony is terrified that the sun has not risen yet. A bright light glows and I see nothing more.
I hear the towns people shouting and crying, the sun still has not risen, it has been maybe two days since we defeated Discord. Celestia looks at me and then look around the town. With no idea what she is thinking, I do the same and begin to look around. I see the terror and fear in ponies eyes, they do not know that their overlord has been turned to stone. I see Celestia's horn glowing, and wonder what is going. "Stay here, this could be risky," she says to me. I just simply nod and take a large step back.
Celestia begins to float in the air inch by inch, but I look behind her and see the sun is lifting behind her. My eyes begin to water with joy until I just can't hold it in anymore. I hear the town begin to cheer for Celestia. I look around and see that a crowd has begun to gather. As Celestia gets higher and higher, I begin to remember, Celestia doesn't have wings. Right as the sun is at its peak I see that wings have come out of Celestia and she has become an alicorn. I don't know if I should feel joy or be scared for what has happened for my sister.
She slowly lands back on the ground, as everyone is calling her princess and kneeling to her. Celestia walks over to me and pats my head, but it feels like she is patting something that shouldn't be there. I slowly look up fearing the worst, but it is a unicorn horn. I begin to jump with joy and realize I have wings as well! Oh to be an alicorn felt so great! The people are kneeling for more then just Celestia, but me as well. Together we defeated Discord and turned him to stone and now rule Equestria.
A mare comes up to us and announces that there will be something called a coronation tomorrow at sunrise. I begin to wonder what that is and if it will hurt. She takes me and Celestia to a nearby building and walks us in. Her and Celestia keep walking as I look at the art around the room. "Luna! Get in here!" I hear my sister yell from the next room. I walk in and sit next her. "This is the mayor of ponyville, she wants to have a ceremony for us becoming princesses of Equestria," my sister says calmly. "Me a princess and ruling Equestria," my voice trembles as I reply to her and she knows I'm scared. "It will all be okay Luna," she assures me.
The mayor shows us to our room, it is a big elegant room. She leaves and I hear the door shut. Celestia is already asleep and I feel I should get some too, but can't I'm too excited, I mean I have a freaking horn now! I can do magic! I stay up all night practicing everything I can. Levitation, Defenses, and even the come to life spell. Before I even know Celestia is up and lowering the moon I raised and putting the sun in it's place.
The entrance to our building has been decorated with suns and moons with purple and white colors. I can't help, but feel joy. Today is the day I, no we go down in history as I look at Celestia. She gives me a big smile as the choir begins to sing. We slowly walk to the front of the room as the crowd is going crazy for me and my sister. Celestia says a few words for both of us, I'm to busy taking it all in to even hear what she said. We slowly walk out of the room and are on our way to Canterlot to construct our castle and rule Equestria.
"What happens next Aunt Luna!?" a small purple and white filly asks overly excited.
"Come on Auntie we no the story isn't over!" says the other who is white with a red spikey mane.
"Story time is over little ones your mom would not be happy if I kept you up during the night," I reply. Both groan at the same time knowing they need to go to bed. I turn off the light and walk downstairs. "Did they enjoy their 'story'?" my sister asks.
"They always do Celestia, they always do."
It is said Equestria shouldn't be like this. The new land has just been formed and ponies should be celebrating. "How can they be celebrating!?" my sister Celestia mumbles just loud enough for me to hear. Although there has been less fighting since Equestria was found, there is still more then enough for the win dagos to come back. "So much disharmony, How can this even be sister?" I asked with a puzzled face. Celestia does not respond at all and the surroundings of the Everfree Forest is all the noise that is made. I know she is upset, because she knows that she would be a better leader then Discord who was selected only because he was not a pony. All the Chaos he brings, the short day and nights, the random rain falls that ruin the ground. Selecting him as a leader was the worst mistake anypony could have made, but how were we to know?
As for my sister and I we just roam Equestria, no home, no family, and most importantly no food. We have lived off of these berries more then long enough in my opinion. No one can help us, nor shall there ever be anyone that can. As my elder sister trots along, I ride on her back half asleep and napping. I have always slept better in the day Celestia reminds me, but I still feel guilty that she carries me almost everyday when we move from town to town.
The warm spring breeze is flowing through my mane. It's nice sleeping through the day i can enjoy the beautiful night when the moon decides to rise. My sister stops walking and carefully lays me on the ground. "We shall stop here Luna," as if she is in command.
"But! Celestia we aren't even halfway to Ponyville yet!" I complain
"Then I will walk faster tomorrow."
"But!"
"No but's Luna! All you did was sleep all day anyway"
I can tell she is exhausted and annoyed, so I drop the subject and begin to help set up camp. Celestia makes a fire with her magic, I was never really sure how she got to be a unicorn and I myself a pegasi. Stupid wings! I wish i could make things burst into fire!
The sun quickly sets over the horizon, no doubt Discord's work. Celestia begins to fall asleep on the old mat we carry as a bed, but I am not tired and decide to roam the night. As I walk the sounds of the forest echo, the Timberwolves howling, my hoofsteps on the ground, and most importantly the crackle of the fire back at camp. I am allowed to roam just Ceslestia doesn't want me getting to far from camp. I turn a corner and find a small hut that looks as if it has been abandoned. Surely nopony dare try to live in the Everfree Forest, it is much to dangerous. I decide to tell my sister what I have found in the morning as I see the sun starting to peek over the horizon.
