Spike the Crystal Driverby OnyxEliteChaptersHe's comingLight and DarknessCrownmenship and PowerFortunate announcement! He's comingHe's coming. Spike, the dragon whelp, had fell off a crystal spire, right after making his presence known to his friends that stood on a balcony nearby. A unicorn with a heart of darkness was steadily being carried by black crystals to his falling form. The unicorn, former king, wanted what was falling beside him. The Crystal Heart, a ancient crystal in shape of a heart. It glowed brightly alongside the falling dragon whelp. The only thing that could repel the unicorn back into the cold snow and keep him in isolation from others. The small dragon, fearing for his well-being, closed his eyes and tried to reminisce the earlier moments of the day, hoping it'll bring him comfort. It brought none, only more fear coursed though him, realizing he was about to fail his friends, the Crystal Empire, Princess Celestia. As if to make his fear more evident to the unicorn, Spike covered his face with his claws and started to cry tears. Everything started to move in slow motion. He opened his eyes, his claws blocking his vision. But he still saw something. His friends were watching him fall to his death from the balcony. They weren't going to do anything to save him. Fluttershy, the winged caretaker who could easily fly up and save him just stood there. Rarity, the unicorn could have caught him with her magic, but she too stood there. Applejack couldn't have done much. Both Shining Armor and Cadence lied on the floor crystal balcony, holding each other. Completely unaware of his rather dire moment. His friends must of never really cared for him, else they'd go though the trouble of saving him. He couldn't rely on his (former) friends for salvation. He was alone with a villain. "Do you need strength to overcome your foe?" The words came from the falling crystal. These words promised him the power needed to defeat Sombra. The dragon didn't notice the crystal words as he hid behind his claws. The relic spoke in a soothing manner, as if it was a mother singing her children to sleep. "You are stronger than you think, Spike" The heart no longer spoke with a soft voice, but of a voice a mother would have when protecting her children from those who wish to hurt them. The crystal also start to glow a different color. Now, it shined with a crimson red light. Almost like it understood and was responding to the dragon's weakness. The light covered the fragile dragon's scales. It gave the scared dragon power. Power needed to purge this dark stain that stains life. Power that will grant him the right to save The Crystal Empire. it was as if it was reviving the whelp. His eyelids retracted. No longer was his eyes covered, he saw his opponent. All the crystal ponies below watched as the dragon flipped mid-air and took the gem into his hands. The pointed bottom faced the unicorn. "End him!" The scaled child's eyes no longer looked normal. His pupils had disappeared and so did his Irises. A flame replaced them both. The caped unicorn didn't notice or care about Spike's intention. He held out his forelegs, as if he was going to embrace the dragon. They made contact. As if the dragon was a missile, the crystal, the warhead. He rammed himself in the unicorn. The dark lord's chest-plate took the blow, but not the force for he fell off the crystal he was riding. With Spike falling off with him and still trying to kill him with The Crystal Heart. (Epic air fight music start) Spike, lost in a sudden and insane blood lust, grabbed the chest-plate with his left hand to make sure he wouldn't lose the unicorn. Then planted his feet on the black iron and tried stabbing the head of Sombra with the crystal heart. Never before had Sombra bore witness to such a crazy beast. No pony ever wanted him to die, not the Princesses , not The Crystal Ponies, none. But this small dragon boy had every intention to slay him. The dark pony dodged the attacks, this further fueled the dragon's rage. The sparring continue until the dragon was kicked off, sending him into the world of unconsciousness whilst losing his grip on the crystal heart. He flew back as well. Thinking the child was beaten, Sombra turned towards the ground. it was coming closer and closer. Panicked, he pulled a black crystal to catch him mid-air. The black stone caught him, ensuring his victory. He turned around to grab the Crystal Heart with his magic. His face paled at what he saw. The child was clearly not beaten. The beast somehow turned the Crystal Heart into what seemed to be a pole with a sharp bit of red crystal on the top. He knew it was The Crystal due to all the magic emanating from it and bits of the crystal heart engraved into the shaft. But that's not what scared him, it was the fact the dragon held the staff as if he was about to impale him. The dragon was being pushed by some force towards the unicorn. Sombra used his dark magic to create a barrier, hoping the staff wouldn't penetrate the magic wall. The Crystal Staff broke the wall easily. The unlikely weapon, now turned into a 5 foot staff prepared to impale anything, now was about to run though his body. The blackened soul of Sombra was impaled by the spear that now showed itself of red light. The dragon pushed the unicorn off of the black rock, sending them both falling once more. But this time, the battle was clearly over. Sombra's dead body dissolved into a fine black smoke. The wicked warlock left only a chest-plate. a crown, and bad memories. With tremendous force, Spike drove the chest-plate to the ground. He stood on it with the spear still ran though it. The Crystal Ponies all cleared the area around the dragon. Light and DarknessThe collected Crystal Ponies all stared at the heavily breathing dragon who stood firmly on the dark iron chest-plate. The scaled beast held a spear that shined with a blood red glow. Then, a strange black smoke arose from the protective item that beast stood on. It wrapped around the whelp like a snake does small mice. Spike thought about rising the spear but the spear wouldn't move when he tried to life it once more. The Crystal Spear was being held down by a thick black smoke that appeared from thin air. He could feel the darkness seeping into his scales and his very soul. It felt like cool water does on a hot day: Soothing. His mind told his body not to fight it, but the muscle of the partnership had different plans. He swing his arms in a desperate attempt to banish the dark cloud. The swing itself wasn't strong, but it carried the strength to clear a small gap in the pocket of darkness. It was only open for little more than a second. but he still saw something. The Crystal Ponies were panicking and running around in circles. "Is this the way they respond to a possible threat? Run around without even a plan of defense? He decided, if he escaped from this darkened prison, he wouldn't rely on these four-legged beasts a second longer. Before now, the small child wasn't inquisitive about such things. But, in the last 50 seconds, his childhood was ended. No longer would he need any of them. He was becoming a dragon. neigh, he is a dragon now that he had slain Sombra. The opening closed, leaving him in the dark once more. He tried again to pry the spear out of the grip of the thick black smoke. It wouldn't budge a inch. "You've killed my former host" A voice popped in his head, It sounded evilly seductive and certainly feminine. He knew that this voice was that of the black smoke all around him. Who knew what the owner of this voice could do. He decided to speak carefully but those words he heard before, once again gave sound in his head. "No he didn't, Aphotic. I did " This time it didn't sound angry or nice. It sounded of a young man, Not to young nor old. He now discovered the name of the Female's voice: Aphotic. He didn't know what it meant. Must be old or something. *"Oh. Really, divine nerd? Then it's only fair I break yours."* The black smoke that held down the tool of killing lifted, giving him control of it again. He raised the spear to strike at the dark cloud. But, before he could land a blow, a thick black smoke grabbed hold of the shaft of the spear. With frightening force, snapped The Crystal Spear into two. "Ouch, you witch! That's not just pretty jewelry! The voice sounded as if it were in pain. Like a long sword was just ran though the owner of the voice. Who ever these two were, they stunk of raw power. Mostly Aphotic. And the other one felt as though he carried a more refined taste. Like that of a gentleman. "Well, Scintillant." the seductive voice replied. "That wasn't just a pile of bones!" They continued to bicker for a minute or so, but after one threaten to strike the other. They both stopped and he almost felt eyes on him. "We're going to die in a few days without bodies." Aphotic's voice said in his head only to be agreed with by Scintillant. "I suppose so. It'll be cramped in there, but we'll survive. I'm not sure he will though." It didn't take a genius to understand what their intent was. Take over his body, possibly ending his life. His mind scrambled to come up with a solution. His time was running out, he could feel them at the doorstep of his mind. Then, a stupid, life-threatening idea popped in his skull. His mind went all feral and he dropped down to all fours on the chest-plate. He opened his mouth, his draconic teeth targeted the metal of the now deceased Warlock. With little care, he attacked the iron with animal-like strength. This wasn't how he was raised, he was taught to love and show kindness. But his mind told him to betray the ponies' way. Kill or be killed, and he wasn't in the mood to die. "Small Beast! Stop what thy is doing!" The voice of the darkness rang out in his head. it seemed strained and in pain. To make this more evident, the cloud started to disperse. If he paid more attention, he'd saw that the Crystal Ponies and his friends could now see him. As the first piece of the dark metal came off, so did Aphotic's attempts to restrain him. He felt the cloud coil around his torso. It tugged at his small body, but it was too weak to get him off what he assumed her body. "Don't take this to the heart, small whelp." He heard Scintillant speak. He felt the broken spear rising, picked up by some unseen force. If he didn't perform this next part correctly, he'd lose this struggle. He must use the spear to pierce the chest-plate once again. Hopefully this would finish Aphotic. If it all went to plan, he'd deal with the magic spear when it came. He didn't exactly understand this whole magic situation. Lucky was the guess that attacking the dark metal would damage Aphotic. He, more or less, sensed the spear charging toward him. Unpracticed Slight of Claw blessed him for he turned around at the last second and grabbed the floating pole by the already broken shaft. Anypony would have said Lady Karma blessed his claws. Now, he had everything where he wanted it. The sharp point of the pole was now pressed against the steel and, with one blow, would finish off Aphotic. He took another hopeful guess that if he used the spear to slay the darkness, the light would also die. He assumed that this spear was light or something, And light can't exist without darkness, right? "Wait, small beast!" The sound of Aphotic's voice gave sound in his head. "We can offer you, umm." After the passing of a second, she continued. "Immortality, or make you loved by all! Or something! Her offerings were tempting, but he needed not eternal life or love. What she had to give him meant nothing to him, including her life. He lifted the spear and planted the front of it in the cobblestone beside the shell for Aphotic. On that day, mercy was shown. He spoke out-loud to the both of the magical items. "Both of your lives I will spare. Life is precious, I know. Those who can let those who oppose him live truly grow, I am not blocked by anger or hate." With those words that came from no-where. He walked away. Crownmenship and PowerTwilight Sparkle stood at the balcony with her friends, as they all watched, helplessly as Spike was covered in a thick black smoke. A few seconds ago, the crystal prison she was formally in dissolved into a fine black ash. She was sure Spike would be with her friends, safe and sound from all and any danger like always. But, to her dismay, Rarity told her that he fell off a crystal spire and Sombra caught him, thankfully. She had to make sure nothing here got any Boo-Booes, or Princess Celeasta may give her a disapproving look. Oh, that displeased look! All forbid something as wretched as that gaze never crosses her person! The last one to be on the receiving side was Sunset Shimmer, oh boy! Did she get it bad. Princess Cadence was complaining about some strong head and horn pains. She thinks she may have a migraine or even a headache soon! All the ponies were now all sitting beside her, singing her a lullaby. While Spike is left alone to fend for himself against who knows what. "What in all seriousness was that?" Spike, a few minutes later, arrived to see that all his former friends were singing a nice melody for Cadence while she was being held by Shining Armor. While he was getting fucked down there, they were up here singing. Rainbow Dash and Applejack must have abandon their posts or something to be up here too. His intrusion was noticed by the cliche. "Oh, Spikey!" Rarity half dramatic ran and half walked to his angered form. "We're so happy that you got out-" "Save it for somepony who cares, Rarity." Her appreciative speech about his survival was cut short by the Survivor. She busted out in tears and wails like she were five, instead of being a grown mare. "I'm becoming a monster." His mind wasn't what it was before. Before, he was small and childish. Naive, even. But now, when he took control of the situation with violence, his mind became something else. He felt powerful for the first time in his life. Like he finally belonged. He felt like he could now take on anything. Be it mountain climbing or Fluttershy's Stare. He truly felt like he could now take on anything. Or anyone... His mind finished, even though he hadn't thought of it. Take on anyone? He didn't hurt, he protected ponies. Her friends ran to her side with tissues and chocolates, eager to restore her good mood. Completely evading him and left him alone. This further fueled his rage. In a display of anger, he ripped off the crown atop of Cadence's head and angrily threw it from the balcony. "What in all that is good are you doing while I was down there, hmm?" His rant began with anger. "While I was being attacked by two magical forces, you were up here having a grand time! I hope you all feel good about yourselves, leaving me to fight with tooth and claw!" He closed his mouth to gauge the collected ponies reactions. They all began to cry profusely. He'd just slain King Sombra and now he has to deal with these wet blankets. He assumed the Crystal Ponies wanted an explanation for what's going on. He didn't have one, but he could try. His luck may not have ran out yet. "Ponies of The Crystal Kingdom!" He started like a king. His not-so-royal summoning brought the attention of the gathered crystal ponies. "I have ended King Sombra's reign, thus setting you all free!" He was met with a chorus of cheers and roses being impromptu thrown at him. "While your Prince and Princess sat here, I took action and saved you all! Spike the Dragon delivered you all to....Times of Light!" The cheers and praises all grew and formed into one statement. "Long Live The King!" Ponies didn't live by a complex system when it came ruling. If they ponies wanted you to rule them, you ruled. It's their choice to decide the Princes and Princesses. But, if they want a sole ruler, they'll be called Kings and Queens. Kings for males, Queens for females. It, the statement, meant they want him to be their King. How they made such an important decision so quickly was beyond him. Him, a king? A king? He wasn't old or wise enough to lead a empire, but he knew if he left now. He'd surely leave the Kingdom to Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. He couldn't leave like this. Now that the former prince had shown where his true heart lies. "Derva, you've proven yourself worthy. " He heard it again, the voice. When he last heard it, pleaded with he was. But now, it seem like it was congratulating him. His eyes searched the spot where he left Aphotic and Scintillant injured, The Broken spear and damaged Chest-plate both were gone. Taken, he supposed. Now the question is who would take them? " Well, we moved ourselves, Skinny. The evilly feminine voice of Aphotic answered his question. Spike didn't mind being called skinny. What he did mind was Aphotic was up here and he assumed Scintillant was brought with. Guess they weren't all that beaten. Who knew what else he was wrong about. "Wasn't wrong about much else, my boy." Scintillant spoke with much more politeness than Aphotic, but nonetheless spoke. "In fact, what would you think if I told you that we're not really in need of a body?" He was sure if Scintillant was a tangible person, he'd have his head propped up on the the rails with his hooves or claws or whatever. "What would you say if I told you we were waiting for your sister?"
Fortunate announcement!Hey, guys. I posted something like this for some of my other stories. So, if you know what I'm going to say, you can probably do as I've already instructed you to do. But, on to the announcement. Unfortunately, this story is over. Don't weep and beg! Fear not, for it's soul is going to a new, different story. Master. Spike is still heavily involved in the story. But many more are also featured. Hope you all enjoyed this story, and I pray you'll like Master more. Spike's bevy resides in most of the Frozen North. His unshakable and powerful faith earns him the title of The Faithful. Twilight roams the dangerous countryside, desperately trying to gather ponies to assist the creation of New Canterlot. Her allegiance, The Alt, still sides with the cowering Princesses.
