COAL TOWN
8:30 PM
"INCOMING!"
The warning came just in time.
Soldier ducked just as another salvo of missiles pounded the pillboxes already failing walls. As Soldier rose to his feet once more, he could faintly hear Engineer's sentry firing from the roof. Looking out the window, he saw a group of SOLDIERBOT'S jerk violently and fall as the sentry's heavy caliber rounds tore through their armor. The last SOLDIERBOT muttered a curse and crumbled, the massive bomb strapped to it's back coming away, and briefly rolling down an incline before coming to a stop. Soldier started to reload his Liberty Launcher, and checked his HUD. "Just a dozen Scouts, and a few Sniper's left... Nothing to hard."
As he was thinking this, The Scout bots started pouring into the battle-field.
There was not just a dozen, or even two dozen.
THERE WERE HUNDRED'S.
"Shit!" Soldier exclaimed as he started firing on the approaching hoard. SCOUTBOT's detonated and came apart under the Soldier's barrage, and as the hoard neared the bomb, the sentry on the roof targeted them and aided Soldier. Out of the corner of his eye, Soldier saw movement on one of the roof top's. But the massive wave of SCOUTBOTS demanded his attention. If they reached and secured the bomb, they would beeline for the Bomb Hatch "Damn Hale for having those installed in EVERY MANN CO. INSTILLATION! And no one was fast enough to catch them. The only Merc that could have, was...indisposed.
The SCOUTBOT'S were getting closer and closer to the Bomb. Soldier was again forced to duck as a hail of bullets whizzed past his head.
CH-CHOOM
"DAMMIT! SENTRY DOWN!"
Engineer's cry made a lump form in Soldier's stomach.
"ALERT! ALERT! THE ROBOTS HAVE THE BOMB! STOP THEM!
The Administrator's warning made Soldiers heart skip a beat. There was no stopping them now.  The Hoard rushed past Soldiers pillbox, none of them even glancing at him as they sprinted by. Soldier heard wheezing, and turned as Engineer came down from the roof of the pillbox. "Dag nabbit Dammit! not (cough) again!"
Soldier could hear gunfire coming from the defender's in the distance. "C'mon Tex, let's go see what we can do."
Engineer simply nodded.
Ponyville
11:30 PM
Twilight Sparkle was wide awake.
The rest of the town was asleep.
Twilight was a night owl, there was no doubting that. What was it that was keeping Twilight up at this obscene hour?
A book about rock formation's. that's what.
Spike had laughed at her, but her excuse was, "It's intriguing Spike! Who new there was so much to learn about ROCKS!"
And as the midnight hour drew ever closer, Twilight was delving deeper and deeper into the book. She occasionally added a page of notes onto a stack of them that was already the size of a small novel, and organized by rock type, color etc. So when there was a loud banging at the door, her mood went from happy to miffed as she jumped, causing her meticulously organized note's to scatter about the room. Taking deep breath's to calm herself, she opened her front door.
There was nopony there.
Shrugging, Twilight shut the door, and went back to her research.
Unbeknownst to her, a figure slowly faded into view in front of the door, placed an object just above it, and then faded back into nothingness.
