Chapter 1: Dreams Really Do Come True
Chapter 1: Dreams Really Do Come True
"Well hasn't this been a miserable Hearts and Hooves Day", muttered Hugh Jelly, as he took a swig of the whiskey bottle in his hooves. Hugh Jelly had just walked home to what had to have been the most humiliating day of his life, his secret jelly fetish was now known to all of Ponyville. He couldn't even fathom what went through the minds of the hairless monkeys who broke into his house, ponynapped him, and then paraded him around in his large Jelly tub as a type of practical joke. He sighed deeply as he went to read the Ponyville Gazette, unfortunately he just so happened to make cover news: Increased human sightings in Equestria, sexual deviant Hugh Jelly shamelessly parades around his perversion in broad daylight. Is it safe to let our young foals be exposed to this kind of activity?-Gabby Gums
"That's It I have Bucking had it!" Hugh yells as he threw the newspaper into the fireplace. The grey stallion's search for a special somepony for Hearts and Hooves day had been jeopardized by this infamous publicity stunt. It was now impossible for him to approach the Ponyville mares without being pepper-sprayed; even the more desperate of the mares in town had shunned his advances. The last thing he wanted to do was spend the rest of his life being the creepy stallion that your parents would tell their foals to stay away from. "It bucking sucks that, I can only sit and take this abuse, why couldn't I be born a unicorn? At least then I could wipe the memories of those narrow-minded ponies who witnessed my humiliation." Hugh scoffed.
Jelly was a very important thing to the eccentric stallion, he would eat it with every meal, bathe in it, hell he practically worshiped it. Why couldn't anypony understand? with all the other fetishes out there surely somepony should able to understand him. Hugh had always been obsessed with Jelly even as a young colt when he parents gave him a peanut butter and Zapapple jam sandwich for lunch that one fateful day. Warm and sticky, Cool and slimy, the feelings of these clashing sensations on his body was pure ecstasy; to conform to the thought that jelly was only for consumption use was blasphemy to the stallion.
That's when it hit him; or rather he hit it, as he got up he went investigate what caused him to trip and make him more intimate with the floor. What he found sticking out from under his couch was a book written in an unusual language; he then mindlessly looked into the first few pages, when all of the sudden the book suddenly came to life as it generated a blinding light.
When the light faded, he opened he eyes and was left silent by what he saw: What he saw was an illusionary copy of himself with the most beautiful mare he had ever laid eyes on. Her glossy purple coat, her flowing green mane, and her beautiful cerulean eyes left Hugh in a trance; however something seemed different about her, it was as if the light passed through her giving her a certain glow. It finally clicked in his head, the mare he was looking at wasn't one of flesh and blood, but of a type of slime capable of maintaining an equine form; what kind of genius could make such a wonderful thing and not be recognized. The enchanted tome then let out another beam of light and the illusion was gone; as it began it slow descent onto the table he noticed is that the book it self had changed, the cover looked brand new and on the front cover it now read "Libri Coniuro Homunculi".
Hugh Jelly Sprinted straight for the library at full speed, if there was anypony that one could go to for information in the field of magic it would be Ponyville's very own Twilight Sparkle. As he ran he saw a bunch of ponies poking fun at him, why should I care what those fools think, if my hunch is right then they won't have any reason to laugh at me. Hugh thought. As he stopped in front of the library door all the strength left his body; what if Twilight Sparkle refused to help him and treat him like the other mares would, what this whole thing was just an elaborate prank. With all the remaining courage he could muster he raised his hoof to the door and knocked.
"Coming!" said a female voice from the other side of the door, after a minute or two the door opened and he was face to face with Princesses' protégé. "Can I help you?" Twilight Sparkle inquired.
After a minute Hugh managed to get his nerves together, as he handed her the book he asked; "Actually there is something that you can help me with, while I was at home I came across this very unusual book, would you mind taking a look at it?"
"Unusual? What is it that makes you think this tome is unusual" The lavender mare inquired, it wasn't the first time that somepony came up to her claiming to have something unusual just to attempt to convince her to go out with them on a date. As nice as the numerous stallions that sought her were, she wasn't ready to pursue that kind of relationship yet. She had to make she was diligent with her studies; Princess Celestia probably wouldn't fund her if the lavender mare took to slacking off, or any other form of delinquency.
"Well it seems to have its own magical field, when I touched it the book lit up, and suddenly the room around me changed, it then projected an image of an other-worldly being. After a few minutes the light dissipated and the book itself changed appearance" Hugh answered.
"Well seeing how you claimed that all of this happened, there has to be something worth investigating. Why don't you please come in and make your comfortable while I take a look at this Tome" Twilight said.
Upon entering the library Hugh expected to see signs of a pony living here: some decorative potted plants, a cozy carpet, or a type of couch of some sort; What he saw was none of it. He just figured out why this mare probably didn't pepper spray him or laugh at his jelly fetish; this poor girl spends way too much time in the library and hardly has social life. Oddly enough one would normally expect a person living these conditions to be repressed and schizophrenic; he was almost tempted to make a run for the front door and keep running. "Oh Immortal Sun Goddess Celestia have mercy on me, I'm no yet ready to die, or be strapped to a weird machine in the basement for this mare's amusement," Hugh thought.
"Well then Mr. Hugh I've taken a good look over the tome and it appears to be a summoning manual of some sort. What's really interesting is that it's meant to summon a very unique creature called a homunculus; The summoning technique is quite advanced and, I would very much like to attempt to try this new spell. Is it alright if I can keep this book for further study?" Twilight elaborated.
"Actually I don't mind if you keep the book, I would just like to see a talented mare such as yourself pull off such an amazing spell" Hugh confided.
"Absolutely, we just need to get a few ingredients for the spell", Twilight said delighted. Hardly any of the stallions in Ponyville would take an interest in her studies of magic types.
"So what do we need?" Hugh Jelly inquired.
