"Can't believe they sent me here. This shady little hole-in-the-wall? This is where they send the intern?"

It was a black night that looked down on one of Canterlot's many side streets, causing the gray mare to stand directly under street light to double-check her directions. The harsh orange light gleamed off of her well-groomed bright red mane, making her feel even more self-conscious on the dingy side street, because, after all, it was best not to draw attention to oneself in places like this.

She looked up from the slip of paper, wincing as the strap of her camera rubbed uncomfortably against her neck. "Yup, this is the place. But why did the manager send me here...? Anyways, better just get this over with." The mare looked up once more at the sign above the tavern she had been sent to find- the picture of a tankard tilted diagonally and the word, "Nightside," etched in darkened wood. She stepped forward reluctantly, stood in the doorway for a moment, hesitating, then pushed open the heavy door and stepped inside...
