Chapter One: A Failed Test
I stood on the edge of the white cloud, calculating the jump. I focused hard, this should be easy. I gave a leap into the air, the wind brushed against my face as I landed.
"Scootaloo! You seem to not be using your wings! Is there a reason for that?" I glanced over to my instructor, her cold steely eyes fixated on me.
"Nnnno mam! Of course not!" I chirped, smiling happily. She squinted her eyes, maybe I was too happy?
"Carry on." She barked.
Phew, that was close... A bit too close... The next cloud was a free-fall, I judged the height. Not too bad. I dove down, and tried my best to fly. It kinda worked; well enough so my instructor didn't comment, anyway.
