The Hunter
Rough Awakening
Load Full StoryNext Chapter"My lord?" asked a disembodied voice from the young yautja's computer console. The predator groaned as he began to regain consciousness from the crash. He stood up and looked around at the damage to his ship. There was debris everywhere, blinking lights and annoying beeps signalling other damaged parts of the ship. It was less than pleasing to the hunter.
"Computer!" the hunter grumpily demanded.
"Yes Champion Guan-thwei." the computer responded in a monotone voice. "How may I be of service to you?"
"I want damage reports for everything. I want them for the trophy room, the armoury, the cockpit, even for the fucking lavatory! AND I WANT THEM NOW!" Guan-thwei exclaimed
"One second my lord" said the computer, which then began to make a series of beeps and bloops.
The yautja snarled in anger and began to look around the room again. He than noticed a sarcophagus like case a few feet away from the captains chair and began to make his way towards it. He typed a code on a keypad that was sticking out of the side of the case. When the code was complete the keypad shot into the case and after a few seconds, it opened, revealing the hunters greatest trophy of all.... his armour.
This armour was not like other armour. It was an armour forged only for great warriors known as Champions. The title of Champion in clans was not an easy one to achieve. A Warrior would have to defeat an entire hive of serpents, or destroy an
U'darahje, a monstrosity caused when a serpent parasite infects a clan brother or sister. Such a creatures existence was a great dishonour. Guan-thwei had done both of these feats, earning his place as clan champion, and the respect of his Elders. Guan-thwei stroked the bio-mask and began to calm down.
"Computer, do you have my reports yet?" he impatiently asked.
"Yes my lord. The ship itself has sustained very minimal damage and repairs will be quite easy." Guan-thwei spirits where beginning to lift.
"Unfortunately though....." Guan-thwei looked over his shoulder at the computer "The ships engines are extremely damaged and require an extensive amount of repair." Guan-thwei turned around and made his way back towards the computer, his anger beginning to bubble up again.
"How long will these repairs take?" he mumbled through gritted teeth.
"Calculating. Total engine repair time: one year." the computer stated with no emotion at all. Guan-thwei's left eye began to twitch and his mandibles began to flare.
"How.Long?" he asked. The computer beeped for a few seconds "One year my lord. Shall I begin repairs now?
The hunters frustration and anger had finally boiled over. Guan-thwei released a terrifyingly loud roar which echoed in the empty ship. The roar lasted for about 10 seconds, leaving the predator short breathed. The computer made a very unpleasant noise.
" REQUEST DOES NOT COMPUTE. Please try again my lord." the computer stated. Guan-thwei looked at his computer with a look of complete exasperation, and then proceeded to face palm.
Princess Celestia laid on her bed in her royal bed chambers, high above Canterlot Castle. She was looking over a few of Twilight Sparkles friendship reports. She loved reading her star pupil's reports before her royal duties began, they got her though her day. Celestia placed the report on her side table and began walking to her balcony to do her first duty of every day. Lifting the sun. The solar princess closed her eyes and began to focus. Her horn began to glow with a golden hue, her majestic wings spread to full length and she smiled as she felt the sun rise. This was Celestia's favourite part of her job. It was so calming, relaxing, and so perfect. When the sun took its place in the sky Celestia opened her eyes and sighed with a smile. Unfortunately for her though, the peaceful silence was broken by a short breathed Princess Luna, bursting through the bedroom doors like a firework.
"TIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The smaller alicorn shouted " I HAVE URGENT NEWS!"
The princess of the sun was still recovering from the slight heart attack her sister had just given her. After a few seconds of deep breaths, Celestia looked at Luna with a exhausted expression "Luna how many times must I tell you, you don't need to speak that loud any more!" she said disappointedly "SIS-sister this is very important, so please listen!"
"Very well Luna, but make it quick. I have a meeting with the griffon ambassador in a few minutes."
Luna sat in front of Celestia and began to tell her sister the important news. "Last night I was stargazing like I do most nights, but last night was very different Tia. I noticed that one of the stars was moving, and not like a shooting star, this thing was moving in all directions."
Princess Celestia's interest started to raise about the subject.
"So, I used my telescope to get a better look at the star, but..... it wasn't a star Tia. It was a ship.
Celestia's heart skipped a beat at the word "ship". She looked at her sister in disbelief "Luna, this had better not be another one of your pranks." she warned. Luna shook her head side to side rapidly making her slightly dizzy.
"This is no trick my sister. Did you not hear the crash last night?" Celestia raised an eyebrow "Wait this 'ship' is on the planet?"
Luna looked dumbfounded at her big sister, and then proceeded to walk towards her balcony, pointing at the Everfree Forest.
"It crashed down there about three hours ago. You really didn't hear anything sister?" Luna asked with a concerned expression, but Celestia only chuckled to herself "Well, I have always been a heavy sleeper." she ended with a smile.
Luna made her way back to her sisters side as they began to walk to the throne room.
"So.... what should we do about this Tia?" Celestia paused and gave the question some serious thought. She looked down at her sister "Take a platoon of royal guard with you to the crash site. If there are any beings in that ship and if they are even still alive, we don't know if they are friendly or not." Luna nodded to Celestia "Very well, what will you do then my sister?"
"I will stay here, I need to speak with the griffin ambassador remember." Luna nodded once again started to walk to the office of the leader of the royal guard, Captain Shining Armour. "Luna" she looked back at Celestia " Be safe." Luna smiled at her big sis "As to you Tia."
With a quick nod the two alicorns went there separate ways, both anticipating the meeting of other life.
