Chapter One: Father's Day Suprise part 1
"Come on, come on...... Almost the-" My computer monitor went black, with a soft whirr as the fans and hard drive of the computer slowed down to a halt.
"[i}God dangit!" I mumbled under my breath. I was just about to win the match with a headshot!
I got up and walked down the stairs that lead from the kitchen to my room, fuming. As I opened the door at the bottom of the stairs, I noticed the lights on the oven were off. "Hmm, that's odd." I walked through the dining room to get to my grandma's bedroom.
She was relaxing on the bed, with the TV remote in her hand. "Grandma, Is the power out again?" I asked, taking a glance at her darkened TV
"Yes, Grandpa went out to the garage to see what's going on." She replied, rolling over to her side and getting comfortable.
A couple seconds later the lights flickered, and the power was restored.
"Ah, there it is. That's surprising, because of the storm we had a few days ago. My god, that knocked the power out for a few days!" I said, as Grandpa came in through the laundry room, which was right across from Grandma's bedroom.
"The breaker had to be reset, but nothing more than that." He said, taking off his flip-flops and going into the living room, plopping down on his recliner and turning his TV to The Price Is Right.
"Huh. Odd." I said, feeling awkward all of the sudden.
I decided to get back upstairs, and try to get my Xbox working. "Love ya grandma." I said, as i always do when I leave her bedroom, an old habit of mine.
"Love you too buddy." She replied, putting her arm over her eyes so she could take a nap.
I walked back into the kitchen, opening the door to my bedroom. For some reason, I had a really weird feeling. Not bad, just weird.
I slowly closed the door and creeped up the stairs, popping my head through the blanket we use as a curtain to keep the room cool. I saw a little pink object sticking out from behind my left computer speaker.
'Huh, i don't remember putting anything pink there' I thought, walking up to my TV stand, my PC already fired up.
I sat down and pulled the pink object out from behind the speaker, and I noticed it was a pony toy, sprawled out in a sleeping position.
Not just any pony either... It was Fluttershy.
"Where the heck did this come from?" I mumbled to my self.
I put my finger on the side of the toy, and it didn't feel like plastic.
It twitched, and I heard a small groan. "What the?" I said, starting to get freaked out.
I watched the toy slowly sit up, and open it's eyes. I just leaned back in my chair, half scared, and half intriuged.
"W-where am i?" I heard the toy whisper.
Despite the craziness of the situation, I somehow found a joke in me.
"Definetly not in kansas anymore." I said.
It turned around quickly at the sound of my voice, then made an "EEP!" noise and freezing in place, looking up at me with really wide eyes.
I suddenly pieced together the situation. Either: 1. I'm losing my mind and having hallucinations. Or 2. An actual pony, the size of the toys, is on Earth.
"You're okay,I'm not going to hurt you. " I said, leaning forward to get a better look at her.
She unfroze, and zipped behind my speaker. After a few seconds she poked her head around the corner, shaking and still looking up at me with those huge eyes.
"Y-you're n-n-not?" She asked, obviously bewildered by what's going on.
"Just because i'm god-knows-how-many times your size, doesn' t mean i'm going to smash you." I said, putting my hand down on the desk palm-up, hoping she might climb up onto it.
She slowly came out from behind the speaker, and examined my fingers, her front leg only being 3/4ths the length of my pinky finger.
"W-what are you?" She asked, prodding the pinky with her front hoof.
"A human. You're a pegasi, if i'm correct." I said, trying to be still as to not scare her.
"H-how did you know?" She asked, walking over to my thumb, obviously fascinated with the concept of multiple digits on one limb.
"I'm Adam. I'm guessing you're Fluttershy?" I said, putting my right hand next to her and gently petting her with my thumb. She flinched at the sudden contact, but didn't run off once she realized I wasn't trying to hurt her.
"Y-yes.... How did you know?" She asked, sitting down. She seems like she was enjoying the affection, but then again, she's a freaking 2 inch tall pegasus.
"Long story." I said, switching hands and using my left hand to pet her, and use my right one to log on to my computer.
I suddenly heard my door open. "Adam, it's almost time to go!" My grandma called up the stairs.
Fluttershy froze again. "O-okay grandma! I'll be down in a little bit!" I called back, pushing fluttershy behind the speaker where i found her.
Grandma shut the door, and both of us let out a sigh of relief.
I pulled fluttershy back out, and got out of my chair, opening the shirt drawer on my dresser.
"I have to go to dinner at a chinese resteraunt for my Grandpa. It's father's day." I said, pulling out a
shirt with the cover of Abbey Road by the Beatles on it.
"W-wait, what am i supposed to do?" She asked.
"Just explore. Try to stay away from the stairs, I don't want something to happen to you. If something tries to hurt you, just fly up onto my ceiling fan. I'll turn it off so you can land on it, i doubt anything big enough to attack you would be able to get up there." I said, taking my white t-shirt off and putting on the Beatles tee.
She looked around the room. "O-okay..." She replied.
I closed the shirt drawer and opened the pants drawer. I grabbed a pair of gray shorts, that are checkered with curvy-looking X things.
I took off my pajama pants, and quickly put on the shorts.
"Now, if you need a drink, fly into the bathroom and find the big bowl that's NOT filled with water, pull the little pole up, then push the big L looking thing on the right towards the faucet. It'll fill up the sink with water. Careful not to fall in, it's quite cold." I instructed her, strapping my blue digital watch on my left wrist.
"U-uhm, what a-about food?" She asked.
"You'll have to wait until i get back. I don't have anything up here that you could eat without the chance of getting sick, and you can't go downstairs, or the dog might get you." I said, finding my MP3 player and headphones.
"H-how long until that?" She asked, flying over to my bed, and sitting down on the edge.
"1 to 3 hours max. I think you'll live." I said, putting the headphones around my neck, and connecting the MP3 player, putting it in my pocket.
"Remember, downstairs is off limits." I said, patting her head gently, then heading to the stairs.
"O-okay, okay!" She said, a little scared with the tone of how i said 'off limits'.
"Now be careful, like i said, i'll be back in a few hours. See ya flutters." I said, walking to the stairs and pushing the blanket-curtain to the side.
"B-bye adam..." She said, flying over to my pillow and laying down on it, relaxing.
I walked down the stairs and shut the door behind me.
Author's Note
Adam (Me) Is 12 in this chapter.
Fluttershy was walking around on the desk, looking at objects, with the occasional hoof-prod if it didn't seem dangerous to touch.
She suddenly heard a loud "EEEK!" From somewhere across the room, that sounded strangely familiar.
"Back, BACK I SAY!" The voice screeched, and Rarity galloped out from under the bed at top speed, stopping by the TV stand.
An ant was following her.
Fluttershy had to let out a giggle, but then again, she was slightly scared by how big the insect was.
Rarity heard this, and looked up, to see Fluttershy's head poking out from above the TV stand.
"Fluttershy, darling, you MUST help me out here!" She said, pinned up against the Tv stand in fear.
"Oh, sure thing Rarity. Stand still, I'll try to lift you up here." She instructed, jumping off the stand and using a move she recently learned from Rainbow. She had gotten a little fond of acrobatics, though most of them were beginner moves, and slow ones at that, due to her below-average wingpower. She tilted her wings in opposite directions, and she spun down like a helicopter.
She quickly clamped her hooves around Rarity's midsection, with a few grunts in protest from Rarity, afraid of her 'Precious' coat and mane getting messed up. Fluttershy beat her wings, and flew back on top of the TV stand, gently putting Rarity down, then landing beside her.
"There, you should be safe now." Fluttershy said, sitting down to rest.
"Uhm... Fluttershy, I wouldn't be sitting down just now if I were you..." Rarity half-whimpered, peeking over the edge of the wooden surface.
"Huh?" Fluttershy looked over at the unicorn.
"It's climbing up here!" She squeaked, and ran behind the speaker that Fluttershy had woken up by.
The ant most certainly was climbing up, as Fluttershy soon found out. She ran to where Rarity was, and hid behind the Unicorn's flank.
The ant looked over and snapped his mandibles a couple times in acknowledgement that there were a couple of life forms near him, scaring the girls, but it didn't give them a second thought as it realised the two were no threat. It trooped over, grabbed some crumbs, and headed back off to his hive, leaving the two ponies to do what they pleased.
Rarity simply sat down, bewildered by what just happened. Fluttershy just went into a giggling fit, and Rarity looked at her with a face that said "Hey, you'd have done worse than I did if you were in the same situation." This made Fluttershy continue her giggling fit, and Rarity just rolled her eyes with a huff, laying on her side and curling up, hoping to get some beauty sleep in this crazy new place.
