“It happened too fast to truly remember you know. It was like… An explosion, of pure hate and disregard. It was an awful feeling, all my friends just being engulfed. I-I just flew you know, flew as fast I could. Flew so fast I couldn’t see… But it wasn’t enough, he found me, and he made me… See unthinkable things. I’m not the Stallion I once was, but I can still fight ma’am. Please, give me a chance… It’s all I ask.”
The blue stallion stood and looked up at the princess of the night, she was laying atop her throne looking down.
“Rainbow… Blitz correct?”
“Yes, your highness”
“Tell me everything, about your world… Night Terror I believe it was. He is the equivalent of my Nightmare Moon phase?”
“Yes ma’am”
“You are definitely the male equivalent of our Rainbow Dash, now this is truly intriguing. Tell me everything you can remember.”
Blitz took off his helmet and his mane flopped out as he looked up at her, where his eyes were once white were now Black and the magenta now red.
“From the beginning, it must have been as it was exactly here… Maybe a few differences.”
Blitz looks up at the night sky through the glass ceiling, telling his tale.
“Blitz!” He turns around only to be glomped by the pink stallion.
“Berry! What are you doing here?” Blitz sets down his duffle bag as he straightens his cap as he smiles.
“Gosh you sure got big, it’s been four years since I’ve seen you!” Berry walks around him looking at the uniform.
“Well, the military does kinda do that… But really, I thought Elusive was supposed to meet me here? Don’t really see why though… I could have flown.” He smirks following Berry with his head. “Hey hey, you’re making me dizzy man.”
“Oh! Sorry, hah come onnnnn the others are waiting at Dusk Shine’s place!” Berry pushes on him from behind barely budging him.
Blitz huffed as he picked the duffle bag up in his mouth and tossed it over his back, he walked over to the exit and chatted with Berry about his tour throughout the Airborne division of the Royal Military of Equestria.
“So why’d you come back Blitzy?” Berry walked beside him smiling.
“I served my tour, I wanted to come home.” Blitz looked over at the Apple farm. “Home sweet home..”
“Did you kill anyone… Blitz?” Berry looked over at him.
“People die in war, Berry. Not everyone can be friends.” Blitz looked over at his shoulder at the combat patch.
“So you were a ground person? I thought you would have been a flier.” Berry tried to change the subject quickly, his happy heart not wanting to talk of death.
“I was both, I was a hero. At least I was told that, doesn’t feel like I did much though.”
“Blitzy what does that say on your shoulder?”
“Follow me.”
“Follow you where?”
“I’m either breaking through hells gates or breaking out of them, follow me and I’ll get you through.”
“And you were a hero? Did you save lives?”
“All the time, it was my job, I loved that part… Nothing can make you smile more when you pull a kid from a crumbled building and bring them to the safety of their parents. I lived for that feeling.”
“So why did you say you don’t feel like much of a hero then..?”
“Because Berry, I ended more lives than I saved…”
Blitz kept walking as Berry stopped looking at him with a frown.
“Hey keep up, I don’t remember where Dusk lives!”
“Coming!” Berry exclaimed as he dashed up next to him.
“I’ll be okay Berry, I’m home now. No more fighting, well aside from the occasional town problem hehe”
“Noooow, all we have to do is find you a nice girl!”
“Slow down, Berry. I just got home man, I wanna kick back before I go back to war hah”
Luna sits listening to Blitz recall feeling deeply from his heart, dread and loss floated from his very essence.
“It sounds life was really good for you, so how did you end up here?”
“We were summoned by King Solaris not to long afterwards… I didn’t complain, I was loyal to him anyways, one last assignment couldn’t hurt I thought… But it was hard… We got there and, King Solaris was dead.”
“Oh my…”
“Lunar had lost control once again, and took him off guard… He’d become so powerful, he demolished us all, Dusk was no match for him even as an alicorn. We were beaten down, and he had some guards coming out, putting cuffs on us… Dusk screamed at me. “Fly… Fly Blitz… Get out of here… Hurry… You can out run them… You can save us…” So I took off, such power went through my wings I was in a rainboom within a second shattering the windows… I flew so far, only to be caught. I was tortured for days, branded, flayed, beaten… You name it, it was done to me… And when they brought me back, all of my friends were lined up in front of me, hanging from the gallows… My life was spared… But my soul was not.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m dark… I feel the need to fight, and ruin. I want to destroy happiness, and love, but… Something in me fights, day and night and it grows stronger..”
“I see… So what happened next?”
“Lunar… Was gone, all that was there was the dreaded Night Terror… The sun never shined, and the plant like became twisted, evil and corrupted, feeding off the moonlight instead. Food became scarce soon and fighting envolped. By then, I was a play toy, Night Terror was a god. He could mutilate my body and make It normal again… Once he cut my stomach open and shoved my bowels down my mouth… The pain, it was unbearable, no matter how many times I died, he brought me back… Punishment for running he said, I was never able to run away now. But, he saw purpose in me. He gave me an option… Become his general, and serve as his personal hoof licking brown nose, or continue being his torture toy. I chose the obvious… I didn’t know it had a price.”
“What was the price?”
“Me, he ripped my soul to shreds. Making me nothing but pure loyalty, I did anything he commanded… Anything, weather it was slit the throat of a child or rape their mother in front of them.. Sick bastard.”
“So what changed? In you I mean.”
“I-I really don’t know.. One day I began to feel again… Regret, shame… For everything I had done…”
“It wasn’t your fault”
“They were my actions… But I began to dis-obey orders, punishments were cruel, and painful… But I saved a few people… Doomed some.”
“What do you mean?”
“I refused to behead a farmer once… I was placed under a boulder that barely allowed me to live as I watched him be lowered into molten metal slowly…”
Luna stands and walks down to him to place her wing around him, he has tears leaking out from his eyes.
“And here, how did you end up here...?”
“Night Terror got sick of me… And I guess he messed up on a spell..”
“Tell me about it..”
RainbowBlitz sighed as he looked at her, and spoke his next tale.

Blitz had settled into his new life well enough, mostly keeping to himself in the barracks and working with the nocturnals when on patrol at night it was enjoyable at most. But today he had guard duty with Celestia’s guards. He hated the idea, it was like a bad taste in the back of his mouth when he woke up. Walking over to his stand he put on the shiny new golden armor assigned to the Princess’s guardsmen.
“Well… Let’s get on it then…” He muttered as he walked out into the broad daylight walking up he marble stairs to the castle and took his post at the base of the throne.
“Ah! Blitz yes?” The Princess said as she walked up, he had always doubted she would care about his story being a very busy pony. “Luna has told me a great deal about you, you certainly are an interesting stallion. And it was with this I had come to a conclusion.”
“A.. Conclusion, princess?” He kneeled at her hooves a bit of fear stirring in him. What could she possibly want to do with me? He thought to himself as he awaited her to speak.
“Having two elements of loyalty within existence is surely an amazing thing. But I believe we are really holding you back of your potential by keeping you here.” She smiled tapping his chin signaling for him to stand. He looked up at her confused.
“So… You wish for me to leave, princess?” He looked confused; feeling betrayed that he was being kicked out.
“No, not leave! But, I wish for you to move on. You can’t do that here. “ As they were talking the doors to her throne room opened slowly.

“So what’s the occasion today, Twilight?” Rarity asked as they walked up the stairs to the castle.
“I’m not really sure, but Princess Celestia said she would like for us all to visit to meet someone” Twilight responded happily. “Maybe it’s another princess? Or maybe a prince Rarity can drool over.” Rarity squinted at her as she smirked back at her.
“Hahaha what’s wrong Rarity? You know it’s true!” Rainbow said loudly as she looped around in the air above her.
“A lady does –not- drool. Hmph.” Rarity pouted stamping her hoof on the floor.
“If you say so sugar cube. Come on y’all princess must be waiting by now.” Applejack walked up by Twilight as Pinkie bounced by making a small boing noise causing Fluttershy to stop looking around for the strange noises source.
The as the doors opened Twilight caught glimpse of Blitz and looked up at a stunned Dash “Dashy, you never told us you have a brother”
“That’s because I don’t! What the buck is going on!?” Dash exclaimed as she landed.

“Oh! Hello girls glad you could make it. I assume the trip here was pleasurable?” Celestia said smiling looking at Twilight.
“Yes princess! Who… Is this?” She said looking at the strange male version of one of her best friends; she only had made it a joke when Trixie was on her power trip never thinking really of male equivalents.
“This is Rainbow Blitz, he’s… Moved here from very, very far away. However he and Dash do share their element.” She explains as the others inspect him.
“HI! I’M PINKIE PIE!!” The bright pink pony appeared seemingly out of nowhere making him stumble back. He blinked slowly recalling memories of Berry making him smile lightly.
“Pinkie darling don’t give the poor stallion a heart attack, hello dear. I’m Rarity.” She smiled largely at him as the other went around introducing themselves. Pinkie of course being the curious one of them all.
“What’s wrong with your eyes? Why are they all. Black and stuff?” Pinkie questioned getting in his face again Blitz could have sword her eyes stretched out a little for a second.
“It happened to me a long time ago… They used to be like Miss Dash’s eyes, but maybe they’ll come back someday..” All of them being around him made him feel more at home in the new land, it was almost like having his friends again. Almost. He looked around feeling his armor being removed by Celestia as she floated the pieces off.
“Blitz I want you to go with them, perhaps through them you will find yourself again. You can take your other armor if you wish, I know how you soldier types get attached to it.” She floated it all over to another guard who took it away.
“But princess..” Blitz never was one to argue and before trying he was cut off.
“Ah ah, no arguments against your princess. I believe this will help you more than a guards life will.” She closes her eyes nodding. “Don’t worry about this, you’re still a guard, you just have leave. Matter of fact…” She signals him to kneel and leans down placing her horn on each of his shoulders. “Arise Sir Rainbow Blitz. I knight you, placing Ponyville under your loyal protection alongside the Elements of Harmony.
Blitz understood being a knight was simply a title in this world, but he also understood that he would indeed be required to protect the town if the need arise to which he happily took the responsibility. “Thank you princess. I won’t disappoint you, promise.”
It was going to be different, maybe a little hard at first. But, if the princess believes it would help him he was willing to try. He couldn’t help and stop to look back at the castle while he was walking before Dash nudged him. “You alright? Come on, I wanna hear what I’m like as a dude.” She smiled as Fluttershy stood beside her, Blitz did his best to answer her questions as they walked to his new home.

The hustle of Ponyville had taken Blitz back, it had been so long since he had seen so many happy ponies carrying about their lives. So care free in the bright world of this universe. He had stopped following the girls some time ago; strangely enough he was far from lost. Everything was the same; even the vendors were in the same places. It wasn’t long before he found himself walking past Ponyville Station along the road towards Twilights library, or so as he thought Dusk’s library. As he walked along he couldn’t help but to think back to the day again walking down the same road once more…

“Come ooooonn slowpoke! For someone that breaks the sound barrier you sure are slow!” The pink stallion boasted as he trotted along happy to have is friend back, after a long year.
“You’ve missed SO much!”
Blitz grinned walking at a pace enjoying the walk. “Like what, Berry?”
He looked on as berry stopped putting his hoof on his chin to think. “Well... Like… Uhm… Well maybe not so much..”
Berry shrugged it off catching up to him. “Are you happy to be home?” He asked nudging him on his side.
“Oh yeah, getting to relax! Can’t wait to lay in my bed tonight”
He chatted happily arriving with Berry at the old giant tree looking up at it.

“Whoa… This is different…” Blitz stared up at the giant crystalized tree holding a castle of its own. “I guess this is where my timeline and theirs differ..” He stood thinking looking at it. “The tree was cozier..”
“Oh there you are, wondered where you had wandered off too.” Twilight said walking towards him with a smile. “The girls thought you had gotten lost but I figure you just wanted to explore!”
“Oh yeah, sorry about that… So this is your pad huh? Its flashier than what I’m used to.” Blitz said looking up at it.
“Yeah! And well, I think it’s nice, crazy story how it happened really, I’ll have to tell you sometime. Well, being a new guy around here I know you need a place to sleep hehe, come on there’s plenty of rooms. You know for a guy who has black eyes you’re not really scary.” Twilight shouted down as she walked up into the castle.
“Maybe it’s the bright blue coat? I don’t intend on being scary. Besides, I have control on my violent tendencies now.” Blitz said following her up. “The princess says I can be helped, in time.”
“Then she means it, she told me your story. I’m… Really sorry, I couldn’t imagine myself in your place… It’s a scary thought… I’m sorry I shouldn’t be talking about it.” She puts her hoof on her mouth hushing herself.
“No its fine, I mean I still think about it. A lot more than I should… But really, the short time I’ve been around you and your friends its, felt like home again. Maybe I’ll go into the clouds tomorrow and build a place.”
“You don’t have too right away I mean, I have a lot of space here, you’re no burden to me at all” Twilight smiled at him warmly trying to make him feel welcome.
Blitz nodded and continued walking. “I appreciate your generosity by opening your home to me but I really don’t want to over stay my welcome.”
“Believe me! You won’t, now this is a good room I think how about you?” Twilight said opening the door showing the room.
“It’s very nice, thank you…” Blitz said as he walked over to the balcony sitting down looking up at the twinkling lights in the sky.
“You like to look at the stars too?” Twilight said happily as she plopped down next to him looking up as well.
“I used wonder about them, all we can ever really do is see them. We can’t hear them, how can we know that those twinkling dots we see as beauty in the night sky aren’t a cry for help. Where I came from eternal darkness truly meant eternal darkness. The night sky was plucked of the stars one by one, in silence they fell. You never know how much something means to you until they’re gone. When I lost my friends, I knew that I was going to be miserable. For years I rotted away in a prison cell, dark, damp and moldy. Nothing but the moons light gazed through the cracks. And when I had been given my shot at freedom in the contract Night Terror had made with me, all I wanted to do was see the stars again for the first time. When I walked outside for the first time and looked up, there was just a black, empty sky. Now, when I look up at them I feel hope, happiness. I feel like I’m alive and happy once again.”
Twilight looked at the stallion and smiled at him once more. “You are alive, as for happy. Happy is something we will work on. Together, all of us. It’s what friends do.”
