A gift for Father. (Father's day story)
The young Earth Pony ShadowRange trots along down the road in Ponyville, passing by Sugarcube Corner, Normally he would stop by to see if they had free samples up, or to just say hi to Pinkie Pie. Today, however, that is not the case. For it is Father's Day! And the little colt wants to find something perfect to give to his business oriented father. But what would he want? Is all ShadowRange could think about. He wanders past shop and homes and everything, mindlessly nearing the edge of town, and tripping in a hole in the road created by who knows what falling from the sky. He pays it no need as he ups himself and walks home.
"Mother?" He calls upon entering, "is father home yet?" He continues. His mother, a beautiful Pegasus with a shiny, jacinthe coat (orange hue), and a mane and tail of the sea, and eyes to match, and a frying pan cutie mark, pokes her head around the corner.
"Not yet, why?" She asks.
"I just wanted to see if you knew what he'd like for Father's Day." He says. She thinks a moment,
"I'm not sure what else he'd want, but I did get him that fax machine he's been eyeing for a long time." She says. ShadowRange signs, nodding his head and strolling into the living room. He saw on the wall the same old pictures of the family, Mother with some of her friends, father with some of his friend co-workers, and some of himself as a newborn. Looking at these, ShadowRange knew just what to do. He then hears the front door close.
"I'm back," emanates the voice of his father. ShadowRange goes into the hallway, seeing his father, the Black furred grey maned Earth Pony with a suitcase for a cutie mark.
"Hello, father" says ShadowRange, nuzzling fathers leg with his nose. Then quickly running upstairs to grab his camera.
"Smile!" He says, taking fathers picture only giving father a little time to smile, which was enough, considering he is one of the handsomest stallions around, he then goes and does the same with his mother.
"I'll be home soon!" He calls, running out the door.
"What was that all about?" Father asks.
"I haven't the foggiest" mother replies.

ShadowRange stalks the entirety of Ponyville, taking pictures of the ponies his father has helped in the past: The beggar whom now has a home and stable job, Fluttershy, the racing stallions who own one of the most famous carts . . . The butcher, the backer, the candlestick maker ... And just about everyone his father had helped the ShadowRange knew of. He then goes to some of his fathers coworkers, and takes their pictures, some solo, others in groups, and even takes a picture of himself. ShadowRange then photographs the buildings which his father had created paperwork for... At least the important ones.
. On his way he stops at SugarCube Corner, asking Pinkie Pie for a favor before leaving once more. He also heads into the library.
"Hello ShadowRange" Twilight Sparkle addresses him from where she sits with Applejack, looking through a book.
"Hello, Ms. Sparkle" he says.
"Anything specific you are looking for today?" She inquires, standing.
"Yes, actually, would there be any books with information on what buildings my father helped make possible in town?" He asks. Twilight nods, using her magic to pull a book off of a shelf, looking through it, and handing it to him, he thanks her and begins to go through the book, seeing every building where his father was listed in the document siters section.
ShadowRange soon returns home, and immediately dashes like Rainbow up to his room, where he takes the pre developed photos, and begins to glue them onto a large poster board...

Father and mother sat upon the couch talking and .... Smooching. ShadowRange enters, the poster held backwards in his mouth.
"What's that son?" Father asks, to where ShadowRange hands him the paper. Fathers eyes widen as he looks at it, it contains a collage of pictures of himself, ShadowRange, mother, all his coworkers, and all the people he's helped, as well as the buildings he's helped make possible. There are also several personal messages from people, such as: "Thank you for changing my life" from the once homeless pony, "Thanks for helping with the animal senctuary" from Fluttershy, and many more personal messages, and an inside joke from one of the coworkers that apparently, only father understood. At the very bottom was written, "For the Best Father a colt could have, From ShadowRange" in bubble letters. Father smiled.
"Son... This is... Amazing." He says...
"But that's not all!" Shadow range says, leaving the room and entering with an envelope and a pink box. Father opens the envelope, it contains updated version of the pictures that had been on the wall for years, so that there weren't only old photos on the wall. And the box contained a cake ShadowRange asked Pinkie Pie to make, and she did it free of charge, it said "Happy Father's Day from ShadowRange", and under that lightly drawn in pink icing, "... And Pinkie Pie".
Father smiled.
"Thank you son.. This is just..... So very thoughtful" he says, deeply heartwarmed by the pictures people allowed his son to take to remind him what was really important. His job, helping people. He then stands and takes the camera, getting a picture of the three of them together to replace the really old family photo. He also begun to replace a few of the coworkers photos with the new ones, and put the card in a frame as well, placing it over the mantle.
