Derpy was hovering down a sidewalk in Ponyville when she noticed a quick glimmer of something shiny stuck in a tree. She slowly moved up towards it, her wall eyes compromising her balance, then stood on the tree to let her wings rest. Thankful she didn't break anything, she dislodged it from between two branches. It was long and cylindrical, with flashing lights and shiny metal. She decided that The Doctor needed to see it, so she clumsily flew down and started to trot to the TARDIS. And she only knocked over a mailbox.
The door of the TARDIS opened to reveal Derpy standing outside. She was very irritated that The Doctor took five minutes just to open the door. And to make it worse, the weather team scheduled a rainstorm. So soaking wet and angry, Derpy stomped into the time machine and sighed.
"Can you stop getting in my way?" The Doctor said while running around and tapping buttons, bonking things with squeaky hammers every once in a while.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Derpy said, sarcasm dripping off her words. "Maybe I should just put this alien thing elsewhere!"
"Alien thing? What alien thing?" The Doctor said between bonkings and tapping.
"This!" Derpy said matter-of-factly, while pulling the cylinder out of her saddlebag.
"Hum..." The Doctor murmured. "I don't know. Unless..." He took out his sonic screwdriver from seemingly nowhere and flicked it on with his tongue.
"Any ideas?" Derpy questioned, before leaning her head to look at it.
"No, I don't know much about these aliens."
"But you're an alien!"
"Wait, let me rephrase that. I don't know much about these aliens because I don't know everything! Yes, I may be an alien, but technically, you're an alien, plants are aliens, every living thing is an alien from a different point of view. Sure, I'm an alien to you, but so is that white pegasus, what's his face... Roid Rage!"
"Roid Rage isn't an alien... Right?"
"Well, a harmless one, but an alien nonetheless. He has a small perception filter to make no one notice his wings, and so far no one has."
"Oh, ok then..."
"Anyways, I think this might be the Neryions work, but I have to make sure"
"Oh. Well, you can buzz it!" Derpy said hopefully.
"Buzz it?"
"You know... Buzz it!"
"What?"
"You take your little flashlight, and... Buzz it!"
"Oh, you want me to scan it with my sonic screwdriver!"
"Yeah... Buzz it!"
The Doctor rolled his eyes and adjusted his sonic screwdriver. After adjusting to the right setting, scan mode, he pushed the on button and scanned the object.
"Hmm... Seems to be safe. Let me open it."
"But it doesn't have a top!"
"Oh Derpy, twenty percent of things are meant to be opened, but everything can be opened."
The Doctor switched the setting of his screwdriver, then squeezed the on button. The cylinder vibrated for a second, then a split opened in the middle and slowly separated. Both of the ponies stared at the cylinder when a burst of yellow shot out.
"Ooh, some pony must of put a spell on it!" Derpy said.
"No, that's not unicorn magic. That's alien magic. But how did they fit that in here?" The Doctor trailed off. "But! That's not the point. I think we deserve a high hoof!"
"What's a high hoof?"
"You know, when two ponies slap their hooves together."
"Oh, a hoof bump?"
"Aw, I thought I got it right. Anyways, hoof bump!" The Doctor stuck out a hoof and Derpy bumped hers to his. Mere seconds after, a white flash enveloped their flanks.

"What's that flash for?" The Doctor said, his eyes shrinking a little bit. "Does that happen for every hoof bump?"
"Does what happen?"
"That flash! It came from your fla- flah- flank!" The Doctor reeled back when he looked at Derpy's flank. Specifically, her cutie mark. Normally bubbles, it was different. Now there was no bubbles. In their place was a hourglass.
"Do you always have an hourglass cutie mark?" The Doctor said.
"Well yeah, silly."
"But that's like mine!"
"No, it's not."
"It really is."
"Well, it's not."
The Doctor followed Derpy's pointing hoof to his own flank, which had also changed. His cutie mark was wrong. His hourglass was gone. In its place was Derpy's bubbles.
"Agh! No no no no. This is wrong. All wrong. Think think think think think!" The Doctor put one hoof on Derpy's mouth and the other to tap his head.
"Um, are you all right?" Derpy said, pushing his hoof off her face.
"Hush brain think-" He got cut off when he looked at Derpy's eyes. Instead of golden, they were blue. "Your eyes!"
"Yeah?"
"They're blue!"
"Yeah, and yours are gold. So?"
"No, mine are blue!"
"Ok, I think you're sick or something. Lets get you outside." Derpy then pushed The Doctor out the doors of the TARDIS and into the Main Street of Ponyville.
"Ah! Everyone is wrong!" The Doctor yells. "Colgate! Why do you have Pinkie Pie's cutie mark! Lyra! Where is your harp cutie mark! Carrot Top! Get rid of that eighth note!"
"Derpy, are you ok?" Derpy says to The Doctor.
"I'm not Derpy, you are!"
"Um, you sure about that?"
"I will bet my 900 years of living that you're Derpy."
"So now you're saying you're me. Great."
"Why are you talking as if you were the Doctor?" The Doctor stopped yelling at random ponies and walked back to where Derpy stood.
"Because I am."
"No, you're not."
"Am too."
"Gosh, are we really doing this? I'm the Doctor, you're Derpy. Simple. "
"No, it should be simple, but you are confused. I'm the Doctor."
"No, you're not."
"Fine. I'll ask you a question only I know. See if you can answer it."
"Ask me anything!"
"Since I regenerated into my Tenth to when I regenerated to my Eleventh, what were my girl companions names, in order."
"Rose, Donna-for-a-day, Martha, Donna."
"Ok, so what if you are me. You're Derpy, and you have been since I've known you."
"Ah, you must have my memories too! Ooh, that's bloody brilliant. I wonder how the Nyrions did this though..."
The Doctor sat on his haunches and thought, while the imposter Doctor lazily hovered around. Minutes passed before The Doctor spoke up.
"I got it! It's all a perception filter! Oh this is wonderful. We just need your memory back." He said, looking over at Derpy. "Know any unicorns that are good with magic?"
"We'll there is Twilight over there..." Derpy pointed over at a regal white unicorn with purple curly hair.
"No, that's Rarity. If you're looking for Twilight, find a lavender unicorn with navy blue hair striped with pink and dark blue."
"Oh, Rainbowdash?" Derpy said.
"Sure. Find me Rainbowdash."
Derpy pointed a hoof over to a unicorn that fit The Doctors description. She was engrossed in moving clouds with her magic, and was doing a decent job at it. Derpy was about to tap a hoof on her shoulder when The Doctor stopped her.
"If I'm right about what I think this is, you need to not touch her." He said.
"Fine then." Derpy grumbled. "Hey Rainbow!"
"What?" Twilight said, looking over her shoulder, her rose coloured eyes fixed on The Doctor.
"Hey, can you perform a memory spell on Derpy here?" He said, gesturing to Derpy.
"That's Time Turner you're pointing to. And besides, I don't know much magic."
"Oh, I think you do. Think back before this morning, what did you do once you got up yesterday?"
"Um, I went to fix the weather?"
"Ah, blasted perception filters. They got everything down to a tee."
"What did you say, Derpy?" Twilight said.
The Doctor looked at Derpy expectantly before he noticed Twilight looking at him. "Oh, you mean me?"
"No, the other Derpy." Twilight rolled her eyes sarcastically.
"I said nothing. Just try a memory spell on "Time Turner". Just think with your brain that you're doing a memory spell."
"Is there any other way to think?" Twilight lowered her head and her horn lit up. She pointed her hon at Derpy and scrunched her eyes. Her horn lighted up brighter than headlights, and the magic aura around it doubled. Sweat dripped down her forehead when it finally started to work. Derpy's eyes widened and changed to gold, and a flash appeared on both hers and The Doctors flank. Then Twilights eyes widened, and her eyes changed to purple and her cutie mark changed to a star. Rarity, in the other hand, got rose eyes and a rainbow lightning cutie mark.
"Ah! That felt great! Lets do it again!" The Doctor yelled.
"Well, thanks for that, Doctor." Twilight said, offering a hoof.
"No, sorry. I can't. The spell I released made it so that making contact with someone would switch their eyes, flanks, and names, it seems. But if a memory spell were to be cast on all residents of Ponyville..."
"Then what?" Twilight said.
"The world would be saved!" Derpy yelled, throwing her forelegs up for emphasis.
"Well, it might counteract the spell."
"Let's we what I can do."
Twilight then got into a defensive stance, with back legs extended, one fore leg bent and the other straight, and her horn started to glow. Her eyes snapped shut, and almost immediately, sweat started to build up on her face. A small bubble formed around her horn, and it got bigger by the second. At first, The Doctor and Derpy backed away, but as it got bigger, it enveloped them. Derpy suddenly remembered where she put her bag of muffins, and The Doctor fell to his knees. The bubble on Twilights horn grew larger and larger until it covered Ponyville. She then opened her eyes.
"Doctor!" She said, while running to The Doctors side.
"Don't touch me I'm fine." He said, and rolled over to his side.
"What happened?" Derpy asked.
"Oh, 900 years of memory isn't good on a brain. The memory spell not only made the residents remember their true callings, it makes them remember their whole lives. But if I try..." He falters for a couple moments. "There, now I only remember the past 50 years or so. Much easier on my head. Anyways, we need to test if this spell worked."
"But I don't remember my whole life." Derpy said.
"It goes by pretty quick. You probably still remember little things, like where you left your car keys-"
"Car keys?"
"Never mind. Your life literally flashes before your eyes, but my life is a tad longer then every one else's. See? Better now. Anyways, lets test that spell." The Doctor held up a hoof and slowly moved it towards Derpy. Derpy responded by turning and bumping it with her hoof.
"Ah-hah! It worked!" The Doctor jumped around the two ponies while yelling.
"What's the occasion?" Derpy said while laughing.
"Oh you know, saving a town again." The Doctor said with a grin on his face.
"It was just this town, right?" Twilight asked.
"Of course." The Doctor said, an embarrassed grin filling his face. "A hundred percent."
Twilight walked a little ways away from The Doctor. "Hey Rarity, how was it-" She was pulled back by the doctor.
"Um, only we remember it." He said.
"Why?"
"We were at the eye of the storm. But if you want some one to remember it, just cast a quick memory spell on them."
"Ok then. Well thanks, Doctor! Have a nice rest of the day!"

"I'll be right there Celestia! I have to raise the moon!" Celestia called out to one of her private guards, Chainlink.
"Well hurry Luna," He said in a gruff voice. "I don't want to be late again."
"Will you guys be quiet! I'm on duty!" Luna said to both of the ponies.
