Equestria Girls: Dimensional Romance
Arrival
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFlash Sentry groggily opened his eyes with an uncomfortable "Ungg..." Looking down in front of himself, he found himself staring down at a dark blue floor, his own hands splayed out in front of him.
No, wait a minute...those weren't his hands. Instead, a pair of orange hooves replaced them. FLASH SENTRY WAS A PONY!
Flash silently yelped at his realization, causing himself to leap onto his two-er, four legs. He wobbled for a bit, trying to balance himself. Flash stared down at his hoof, mystified at the fact of being an equine. He tried to turn around and get a good look at himself through the mirror. From what he could see, he was an orange pony with his signature blue hair, a matching tail, and...wings? Flash raised an eyebrow as he flexed his new modes of flight. "That's pretty cool," he admitted, "But what's that mark on my butt?" It looked exactly like his shirt pennant back home: a gray and blue shield with a lightning bolt in the foreground. Flash reached behind to wipe it off his rear, but he was shocked to discover that it was not a stain, but part of his fur itself. It was this butt-mark that Flash Sentry found the most peculiar.
"You can worry about that later, Sentry," Flash told himself, "You gotta go find Twilight!" Taking a deep breath, he then began to experiment walking on all fours. To his surprise, it seemed relatively easy, even though he'd walked on his 'hind legs' his entire life. He guessed it was his determination to find his girlfriend.
"W-Who're you?"
Flash jumped as he looked behind himself into the hallway. Peeking through a door was a bright white unicorn stallion with blue-striped hair like Flash's, only not as spiky. As the stallion turned to face Flash, he noticed there was a mark on his rump as well. "Maybe these butt-mark-thingies are common in this world," Flash told himself.
The stallion took two steps forward, his face contorting with suspicion. "Well?" he growled, "Who are you, stranger? Answer me!"
Flash gulped. "Erm..." he mumbled, "I'm, uh... looking for, uh...Princess...Twilight Sparkle...yeah, that's it. I'm looking for Princess Twilight!"
Flash was expecting the unicorn to concede and show Flash to his girlfriend, but that didn't happen; instead, the stallion's eyes widened, yet still swimming in suspicions. "What do you want with my sister?" the unicorn asked menacingly.
"Wait, this dude's Twilight's brother?" Flash thought, "Twi never mentioned having a brother!" He couldn't ponder much further, because the unicorn guy was stepping forward, his huge hooves digging into the tile.
"Why do you want my sister?" the stallion growled, then he started to quicken his pace, "Have you been sent by somepony, or did you come on your own to do your dirty work!?"
Just like that, Flash's heart dropped in realization. Twilight's brother thought he was trying to kidnap, or kill, the princess herself!
"W-Wait a minute!" Flash pleaded, taking a few steps back, "I-It's not like tha-!"
"YOU'LL NEVER GET TO MY SISTER!" the stallion roared as he charged at Flash Sentry. Reacting on instinct, the orange Pegasus yelped and bolted off.
Flash panted, trying his best to evade Twilight's angry brother. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the white stallion's horn glow a deep magenta. Not wanting to experience what would happen next, Flash Sentry ran faster... right smack dab into a white pillar.
"Ow!" the Pegasus shouted, falling over from the impact. As he rubbed the sore spot on his head, he briefly forgot all about the angered pony chasing him. However, once the unicorn himself slammed right into Flash, he wished he hadn't forgotten.
"Tell me where you came from," the white pony snarled, keeping one hoof on Flash's throat, "and what you want to do with Twilight! Now!" Flash wrestled the white leg pushing on his neck, trying to make the big guy release his grip. As he began to lose air in his lungs, both Flash and the stallion heard a slow creeeeeak, and they both looked up. What they found was the pillar Flash slammed into, slowly descending upon them. While the white stallion was distracted, Flash managed to wriggle out of his grasp. But before he could chase after him again, Flash Sentry heard a sickening crunch and a squeal of pain from Twilight's brother. Expecting the worse, Flash gulped and turned his head; sure enough, the pillar had collapsed on the white stallion. Flash winced as he noticed blood trickling from his mouth.
"Did I...kill him!?"
His heart beating fast, Flash took off to the right, not wanting to find the answer to that question. Suddenly, SMACK! The orange colt ran right into another pony! Flash heard her grunt in pain, and opened his eyes to find a cyan-colored mare with rainbow hair standing in front of him, rubbing her head. She opened her eyes and stared at Flash. "Wha..." she stuttered, then she growled, "What did you do to Shining Armor!?"
"Please, I can explain-!"
The Pegasus mare reeled back her head and yelled at the top of her lungs, "PRINCESS CADANCE! MAD PONY ON THE LOOSE!"
~x~
Twilight Sparkle opened her sleepy eyes to the sound of a shriek. Pushing back her duvet, the purple alicorn mare leapt out of bed to open the door. Much to her surprise, the door opened by itself, revealing a panting Rainbow Dash.
"Dash!" Twilight exclaimed, running over to her spectra-maned friend, "What happened?" She then gasped at the bleeding cut just above Rainbow Dash's eye. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Twilight..." Rainbow grumbled, "A mad pony got in...orange fool...wait till I get him..."
"Wait...orange?"Twilight thought. She cleared her throat. "Rainbow, this mad pony...did he have blue spiky hair?"
Dash looked at the purple mare, raising an eyebrow. "How'd you know that?"
Twilight's heart skipped a beat, and she grinned in her happiness. "Flash?" she asked, her voice full of hope, "Is Flash really here?"
Rainbow Dash stared at her friend, before snarling and screaming in Twilight's face:
"HE TRIED TO KILL YOUR BROTHER!"
With that, Rainbow Dash took off through the door, leaving Twilight on her own, her heart dropping over what she'd just heard.
