First steps and first encounters.
Load Full StoryNext ChapterSarcony stood at the edge of the forest overlooking the nearby town from his perch and took a beep breath. He held it for longer than he should before finally releasing it. It was clear that he was uncomfortable with what he was looking at and that just so happened to be a busy town. Letting out a sigh he shifted again on his perch.
"Come on you can't let a simple town scare you, you've been through tougher situations than this just breath it will be fine" Sarcony though frantically, trying to calm himself down. A few minuets passed and Sarcony was still on his perch looking absolutely distraught.
"ARGHHHHHH" Sarcony groaned shaking his head wildly, "why can't I do this, why is this so difficult. ARGHHH this is going to drive me nuts". Sarcony tried to calm himself down with some deep breaths which seemed to help a bit. "OK its OK" he said aloud trying to recollect his thoughts. He moved further up the branch and pocked his head out from his leafy cover. Checking left and right he saw that there where only a few ponies around, it would be easy to sneak around them to get into town. Sarcony moved further out of his cover and took another look around just to be sure. "OK here we go" he said nervously "Time to meet some ponies for the fir-" there was a sudden snapping sound as Sarcony looked over his shoulder to find that the branch he was standing on had snapped "oh boy".
Usually falling from a tree wasn't a big deal to Sarcony however he was in a 30 feet oak tree and it was quite the fall. The wind rushed past Sarcony's ears as he fell breaking small branches on the way down. After about 2 minuets of falling through branches and several birds nests Sarcony finally came to a crashing stop at the base of the tree.
Of course after a painful but still spectacular fall Sarcony had attracted quite a few ponies who galloped over to see if he was OK. Sarcony moaned before rising up from a pile of broken branches and leaves, he gave his body a good shake to get off any leaves clinging to his feathers and checked his wings for any branches that could of got wedged in from the fall. After a close inspection of his wings he turned his attention to the group of ponies looking at him with concerned eyes.
That quickly changed when Sarcony fully stood up and there expression quickly turned to fear when they was that he was a griffin and quickly turned away and went back to what they where doing. Sarcony tilted his head to the side and wondered what that was all about. When he could feel his legs again Sarcony made his way to town feeling uneasy but confident non the less.
Sarcony had a hard time navigating the town, he had never been good at following directions and soon found himself lost in a market street. The street was alive with shops and ponies looking in windows and buying things to eat. Sarcony made his way down the far side of the market in order to somewhat hide himself. He concentrated on the crowd making sure that he was passing by without attracting attention. A sharp pain then shot through his head as he headbutted a pile of boxes. Sarcony looked up to see the tower of boxes wobbling almost toppling over he held his breath and didn't move at all. The boxes soon settled and Sarcony could breath again. Turning to see if anypony had seen that but to his relief
nopony had. "What are you doing back here" came a sudden growling voice.
Sarcony froze and slowly turned his head to look at the source of the voice. A rather angry pony stood behind him, from his armor it was obvious that he was a soldier but something was off about him. Sarcony looked down an the pony and thought that the soldier was rather small. Something clicked in his mind, now that he though about it everypony he had met were rather small, they where at lest 2-3 head shorter than him.
"Are you listening", Sarcony broke out his trance an look down at the soldier who looked very annoyed. He looked at the soldier and saw that his back legs where shaking.
"Your new to this guard thing aren't you" Sarcony said calmly, the guard froze and his once angry face dropped,
"IS IT THAT OBVIOUS" the guard cried before a few colorful words left his mouth, Sarcony sharply looked around to see all the ponies where now looking at them.
"Can i ask you two questions?" Sarcony said not wanting to stay much longer.
The guard collected himself and replied "yes of course" oblivious to the fact he just had a mental break down a few seconds ago.
"One where is the bus stop, I would like to check the times" Sarcony said calmly
The guard looked shocked at the question but produced a map marked the bus stop, and after a brief inspection of the map Sarcony nodded and asked the second question.
"I mean no offence when i say this but why is eveyponie so" Sarcony paused "small?"
