The two sisters entered the palace dinning area and ate dinner. Luna didn't eat as much as she usually does, this made Celestia concerned "Luna, what's the matter, you seem a little down?" she asked
"It's nothing really"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes my dear sister"
"Well okay then, but are you going to eat?"
"I'm not that hungry right now...*sigh*..I'm going to get some sleep...so..umm..*sigh*...good night" Luna sighed as she walked out of the dinning area. Celestia tried to stop her, but Luna didn't even look back
{Luna's Room}
Luna walked in and looked out the window. She looked to only see..well...nothing. No pony was outside, all lights were out, and everything was completely quiet. " *sigh* Should I even bother to look?" she sighed "It's all the same, not one pony is out there, nor are they awake either" She walked to her bed and took off her shiny sky blue shoes, her necklace, and her crown. She held her crown up and looked at it for a second. Her expression grew angrier as she threw her crown to the ground and watched as it shattered into pieces. She burst into tears and threw herself into her pillow. She heard a knock at her door "GO AWAY" she screamed as her crying grew louder
"Luna it's me Celestia...Can we talk?"
"N-NO I-I-I DON'T W-W-WANT T-T-TO" she said in between her cries
"Luna are you okay?" her sister asked in a caring tone "Luna I'm coming in" Celestia opened the door to find Luna on her bed sobbing and she ran over to her "Luna?"
"W-What?"
"What's wrong?"
"N-Nothing"
"It doesn't seem like nothing"
Luna started to grow angrier. Rage flowing threw her body. She felt a slight pain in her chest knowing that her heart is breaking "JUST GO AWAY..I DON'T NEED YOU"
"LUNA, YOUR CRYING AND SCREAMING SOMETHINGS WRONG"
"NO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG JUST LEAVE ME ALONE"
"NO"
"YES"
This made Celestia mad "NO I WILL NOT LEAVE" her horn started to glow and a beam of light went straight to Luna and pushed her back into her bookshelf. Celestia gasped at what she has just done "Oh my gosh Luna I'm so sorry I-"
Luna started to get up "NO..I WILL NOT PUT UP WITH IT ANY LONGER, NONE KNOW OF THE PAIN I GO THREW EVERYDAY AND EVERY NIGHT, BUT NO LONGER"
"Luna come on, please don't do this you must set the moon to make way for day"
"GRRR....NO...NO I WILL NOT SET THE MOON EVERYDAY I WATCH ALL PONIES LAUGH AND PLAY DURING DAY, BUT SHUN AND IGNORE MY NIGHT, BUT THAT WILL BE NO LONGER"
"LUNA DON'T" Celestia watched as Luna began to change a black glow formed around her as her coat changed from blue to black, her eyes changed shape, and she grew as tall as Celestia. It was too late
"BECAUSE OF THIS, ALL OF EQUESTRIA WILL SHOWER IN ETERNAL NIGHT AND ALL WILL KNOW WHAT I WENT THROUGH ALL THESE YEARS AND ALL WILL KNOW THE PAIN I FELT AND NIGHT WILL LAST FOREVER AND ALL WILL NO OF NIGHTMARE MOON"
"NO LUNA PLEASE"
"IT'S TOO LATE FOR THAT" Nightmare Moon said as she flew right out the window and Celestia followed
"STOP"
NMM turned around to see Celestia right behind her "Oh and what are you going to do?"
"This" she said as she began to glow "SUMMON THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY"
"WHAT?" NMM watched as Celestia's necklace grew five more jewels and her crown changed(like Twilight Sparkles Crown)
"ELEMENTS UNITE" the jewels and the crown started to glow "SEND HER TO THE MOON" beams of light started to encircle NMM and she slowly started to fade away
"NOOOOO" she started to disappear " I'LL BE BACK SOMEDAY AND THAT'S A PROMISE, I WILL GET WHAT I DESERVE ONE DAY AND THAT WILL BE THE DAY YOU FALL AND THE DAY THAT WILL BEGIN MY ETERNAL NIGHT...I'LL BEEE BAAAAAcccckkkk" she disappeared into thin air and Celestia fell down to the ground she was tired and she drained most of her energy. She walked back to the palace and entered into Luna's room. Then that's when she stepped on something she looked down to see her sisters crown shattered into pieces. Celestia knelt down as a tear started to form "I-I'm so sorry Luna" she began to cry "I-I'm s-sorry I d-didn't realize your pain before...I-I could of helped, b-but instead I just let you rot"
Ever since that day Celestia took responsibility of both sun and moon. She brought balance and harmony to Equestria, but she never forgot what had happened and never forgot about Princess Luna

It was around 7:56 pm in Equestria, almost time to raise the moon. As Celestia slowly lowered the sun to make way for her sisters night Luna walked in "My dear sister how long until the winter solstice?" she aked
"Haha..oh Luna that's weeks from now" Celestia giggled
"Awww...what day is it anyway?"
"It's only November 12"
" *sigh* okay" Luna sighed and started to walk away
"Luna?"
"Yes?"
"Come on you have to raise the moon"
"Oh..umm..ya..right" she said not as cheerful as usual 'here we go another night of ponies sleeping and shunning the moon' she thought to herself as she slowly raised the moon 'all full of sadness and despair as I watch them all just sleep, with only the sounds of nocturnal beings to comfort me.' The moon finally reached the sky and everypony went inside. House lights turned off, crickets started to chirp, it all seemed to go so fast "Well...I guess we must get some sleep too"
"Yes...come on lets go inside now" Celestia wrapped her wing around Luna and pulled her closer to give her a hug which made Luna smile a bit
