//-------------------------------------------------------// The Trouble With Unexpected Interdimensional Guests -by Admitted- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Is This The Beginning? //-------------------------------------------------------// Is This The Beginning? Ok, so I was kinda just mindin' my own business, when wouldn't you know it, a big, shiny, electric purple orb show us in my room, and sucks me in. Turns out, this was Twi, testing out her interdimensional gateway, and I just so happened to be right on the other side. So, I'm properly freaked out, because among other things, I'm lying on my ass, on the floor, in Twilight's basement. And right in front of me, also looking properly freaked out, is her. Twilight Sparkle. I start to back myself up, making noises with my mouth, which must have just freaked her out even more, cause as I'm scooting myself back and making weird noises of confusion, she's stepping back too, lowering herself to the ground just a bit. Finally, she speaks up. "C-can you talk? O-or is that what you're doing right now?" She asks timidly. I'm a little surprised she was as worried as she was, but I was an alien; an unknown. She could read up on all the monsters in Equestria, but me? I was something new. "I-I know you!" I blurt out, pointing my finger towards her, with a crazy look on my face because let's face it, I thought I was going a bit insane. "Wait, what!?" she responds, appropriately incredulous. "Y-you're Twilight Sparkle! I-I know all about you!" I say, now coming across as a creepy interdimensional stalker, "You're not supposed to be real! This, I, I must be dreaming or something!" "Wait what!? But how?" she starts to ask, but I'm too busy wrapping my head around the situation to pay any attention. "I, I can't believe this! This is crazy!" I say, having sat myself up against the cool cement wall of the basement. "I, I know where I am to! I'm, here, right here, in Twilight Sparkle's basement!" I say, with growing, mad, excitement. Now, acknowledging Twilight again, "You're a student of Princess Celestia, right? And this is the basement of your library in Ponyville, right?" "Well, yes," she answers me, moving a bit closer, her eyes darting back in forth, "but how do you know all this?" She asks, her mind obviously deep in thought. 'Shit!' I think to myself, 'I shouldn't have said all that.' "Well, I, uh....." I'm scrambling to think of a way out of this question that came much sooner than I would have hoped. "I, well, uh, you see, it's, ah, it's a long story, and well, uhm," I stammer out, getting nowhere. "Uh-uh... Right..." Twilight responds dryly, obviously unthrilled with my apparent lack of mental capacity. "Well, seeing as you already know my name, maybe you wouldn't telling me yours?" she asks with an obvious hint of annoyance in her voice. "Uh, well, uh..." I continue to to stammer, which earns my a look from Twilight that says,"Really? This is the freak I end up pulling out of the void?" I finally gain my composure, and answer her question and tell her my name. I cross my legs, and lean forward, my hand outstretched to shake her hoof. "It's ah, well, It's a pleasure to meet you." I tell her with a slight grin and chuckle, appearing slightly more sane than when I had first arrived. She put on a smile, and having gotten closer to me the whole time I was talking, reach out her right hoof, and told me, "Twilight. Twilight Sparkle." I take her hoof in my hand and shake. "But of course," she continued "you already knew that." I stop shaking her hoof, and rub the back of my head, knowing that I couldn't have put off answering that question for much longer. "Yeah... about that... Let me explain-" I start, but am cut off. "Nahp!" she says, raising a hoof, "In a bit. We can talk about those things over snacks. So, are you hungry?" Finally, a question I could sink my teeth into! My eyes widen a little, and I answer immediately. "Yes." All things considered, Twilight is acting pretty nonchalant about creating a pathway to a different universe and bringing a crazy looking alien into her basement who knows exactly who she is. "Well ok then!" she says backing up, with nervous laughter, her smile becoming a little more strained. "I'll be right back with snacks!" She trots off towards the stairs, telling me to feel free to look around. As she climbing the stairs, I stand myself up, just as she turns back around to tell me something else. "Oh, wow, you're very, tall," she says sheepishly, her nervousness breaking through her nonchalant facade. "Yes well, make sure you don't touch anything, and I'll be back." "Ok." I respond back somewhat solemnly. She's freaked out. She rushes up the rest of the stairs, and slams the door shut. I can hear her talking to herself through the door. It's muffled, but I can make out what she's saying. "Ok Twilight, keep it together! You've got a giant, crazy, alien from another dimension who knows your name, locked in your basement. And he's hungry. I, I think I need to write a letter... SPIKE!" Then I hear her trot off. I wait there, in the basement, just standing still, not touching anything. I realize just how badly I could have messed myself. She said it herself. To her, I was a giant crazy alien from another dimension, who knew her name, that was locked in her basement, and was hungry. I couldn't tell you how long it took for her to come back down, but it was much longer than it should take to get a plate of milk and cookies, I can say that much. I had a sneaking suspicion I knew what was taking so long. While I'm waiting, I hear a bunch of hoofsteps above. Far more than Twilight herself could make, along with multiple voices, many of them deep and masculine, though one of them was serenely feminine, but decidedly commanding. It would only be a short while until I found out who exactly was up there. I'm sitting down again, legs crossed, when I hear the door open. Twilight calls down my name. I can hear it in her voice; extremely nervous. I am too. I say nothing. She begins slowly making her way down the stairs, levitating a tray. "I brought milk and cookies. I hope that's alright," she tells me, with a sincere sweetness, but mixed with fear. "And I hope you don't mind, but I invited a friend over. I think you may have already heard of her." Her ears go back sheepishly, and she lowers her head a little, as though she's done something wrong. I quickly see who she was talking about, and slowly begin to stand myself up, slack jawed in awe. With a breathless grace about her, she enters the room, making her way methodically down the stairs with great poise. Each golden shoed hoofstep carefully paced. With a pristine white coat, lofty wings, a regal crown, a magnificent flowing mane of colors, a striking horn, and a radiant sun on her flank, they could be no mistaking who this towering alicorn pony could be. For once, I'm the first to speak. "P-Princess Celestia!" I say breathlessly. I quickly drop to one knee and bow, before looking back up at her. "I-it's an honor!"
