Secret Of The Eyes

"Doctor, who is this?" A nurse said as she was pushing a pony in a
wheelchair.
"I'm not completely sure, but many ponies have asked to bring her in
for inspection. So let's see how this goes."
The nurse and doctor were at Ponyville Psychiatric Hospital. The
hospital rarely got any ponies coming in those days, but when this
pony came in, it was the biggest commotion that the hospital got. But
rather that actually checking in, the ponies in Ponyville actually
brought her to the hospital. About 50 ponies were following her to the
hospital.
"I keep hearing the ponies outside. I think we need to talk to her."
The nurse said.
"Hmm...very well." He said. "Bring her to the White Room."
The nurse did as she was told. As they trotted down the hallway, she
saw the ponies in the other rooms. Freaks, mutants, and psycos. Ponies
eating glass, ponies wrapped up in straightsuits, and ponies that
acted insane. Once they got to the White Room, they all entered.
The doctor put the pony across the room from him. The nurse sat down
next to the doctor. The pony looked around the room. She noticed that
there was just an old white desk that seemed to have been worn out
over the years. The walls were clean, and like the name suggested, the
room was indeed white.
"Excuse me," the nurse said, "can you please tell us what you did?"
The pony said nothing. She just stared at her, or at least it appeared
that she was staring.
"Can you understand us?" The doctor asked her.
"Yes...I can understand you." She said.
"Well, what did you do that you're here?"
In the calmest voice, she said, "I didn't do anything...at least I
don't think I did anything."
"Would you mind if you told us what happened?" The nurse asked.
"I wouldn't mind at all." She said. Then she got a little anxious.
"But I'm going to tell you right now, that I'm not like the other
ponies I saw in the other rooms." She said. "I'm not crazy or psyco or
anything like that. I don't even know why I'm here, for that matter."
"Don't worry." The doctor said, with a smile on his face. "We won't do
anything to you...unless, of course, we see need to."
"Hm..." She wanted to trust the doctor and the nurse. They seemed
nice. Also, she didn't know if she did anything wrong, so she needed
help, no matter what. "Alright then, I'll tell you all I know." She
agreed. But then she stuck her hoof out. "But first, can I have a
muffin?"
You probably want me to start from the beginning, like when I was
born, and stuff like that. But sadly, I can't remember all that. But I
do remember growing up. It was a nice time, I guess. Stuff happens
from time to time. That's just life. But sometimes, life isn't fair.
Not in the least bit. But sometimes, life can be amazing, and you have
to make the best out of it. That's how I live.
My name is Derpy Hooves, or Ditzy Doo, it doesn't matter. Whatever
suits you.
Now, on to what happened.
I remember when I was just a small filly, and I entered Ponyville
Elementary School. I was really smart, best in my class. I tried my
best, and it all paid off. I even got to be taught by the famous Dr.
Whooves. You know, the greatest scientist in Equestria. He was really
cool! He even had his own time machine! How cool is that? Anyway, he
liked me. He told me that I was his most favorite student.
I really liked him also. He was an excellent teacher, but most of the
time, he came in late. So there was usually this substitute named
Cheerilee. She was really nice also. Once she told me that she loved
teaching, and wished to become a real teacher and teach in an
elementary school. I thought that that was pretty cool. If she kept up
the way she was teaching, she would have that job in no time.
Anyway, one faithful day, I can't even remember what day it was. I
think it was Thursday. Regardless, Dr. Whooves was late again, and
Cheerilee was sick that day, so we had a different sub. He was a small
colt, pretty skinny also. He had a tan coat and a really dark brown
mane. If you didn't know it, you'd suspect that it was black. He had
these big, white glasses also. He looked pretty nerdy, but he was
actually really funny and pretty cool. He was as smart as Dr. Whooves.
That day, we were performing chemical experiments. Before I tell you
what happened, let me tell you how I looked.
I looked basically the same way I look right now, except my blonde
hair was curled at the ends instead of flat, like the way it is right
now. So, we were doing experiments, and the sub was helping us. I
never did know his name. For some reason, Dr. Whooves was later than
he usually was. So the sub decided to set up the experiment.
"Alright students," he said, "be careful with these chemicals. These
are some of the most reactive elements in Equestria." He gave us the
chemicals in a test tube and gave each of us a pipette. "Now, I want
you to add a little of Element A and mix it with Element B. Remember,
adding too much may result in an unwanted reaction."
I was as careful as I could be. I took my pipette, and hovered over
the test tube to instert the element. Then, all of a sudden, I hear
commotion near the windows. I tried to ignore it, but it was pretty
hard.
"Hey, whose that?"
"It's that rainbow girl!"
"Yeah, I heard about her! She lives in Cloudsdale. She told me that
she was going to have a race today."
"Yup, her name is Rainbow Dash."
"She looks fantastic!"
I tried really hard to concentrate, but all of a sudden, I heard my
classmates screaming.
"What's she doing!?"
"I don't know, but she's going really fast!"
Then I heard this explosion, and everything went blank.
"So...you don't remember what happened after that?" The nurse asked her.
"Well, at that moment, I didn't." Derpy said. She chewed on her
muffin. "After I regained consiousness, I woke up at Ponyville
Hospital. Almost all my classmates were there. Even Dr. Whooves was
there. The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that my sight was
better, extremely better. Then I heard some conversation."
"...I don't think she's going to make it..."
"She has to!......It's all my fault. It's because I was late..."
I grunted. I sat up and looked at all of them.
Dr. Whooves was the first to speak. "Oh, Derpy! You're alright!...."
He started to cry. "I'm so sorry...I have a time machine, for crying
out loud...I have no excuse to be late..."
I sat over and hugged him. "It's alright Doctor. It wasn't your fault.
It wasn't anypony's fault. But I'm perfectly fine."
The doctor, the one from the hospital, spoke up. "I'm not completely
sure about that." He handed a mirror to me.
I looked in it, and the first thing I notice are my eyes. They were in
different positions. But for some reason, I was still able to see
perfectly fine. Also, my hair turned straight. It looked nice like
that, though. "I'm fine Doctor. I can see fine. Much better,
actually." I said.
"Really?" He asked. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." I turned to Dr. Whooves. "What happened after I
passed out?"
Dr. Whooves looked nervous. "Well...before you passed out, let me tell
you what happened. That rainbow girl, Rainbow Dash, was attepting a
Sonic Rainboom. It's when you break the sound barrier, and a rainbow
comes behind you. Very beautiful. Anyway, I was later than usual
because my alarm was set off for some reason. Starsearcher brought you
to the hospital after you passed out."
"Who's Starsearcher?" I asked, confused.
The pony behind Doctor came up to me. It was the sub. "I'm
Starsearcher. Hi Derpy. How are you?"
"Better than being unconsious, I guess." I said.
He chuckled. "Very true. So I brought you to this hospital, because I
thought that...I thought you died...When we brought you here, the
nurse said that you still had a pulse, so that relieved me a bunch."
I laughed. "It's going to take more than a simple explosion to kill me!"
Then one of my classmates came up to me. "...Are you okay Derpy?"
"Sure I am Cinder." I said happily.
He came up to me and hugged me. "I'm so glad to hear that...to hear
that you're alright...If anything happened to you.....I..."
I hugged him back. "It's okay Cinder. I'm alright. I may have
different eyes now, and chemically altered hair, but I'm still the
same Derpy you've always known."
"What happened after that?" The doctor asked.
Derpy took another bite of her muffin. "Not much happened after that.
I finished off elementary school, despite my happening. I also got my
cutie mark." She pointed at her flank.
"What does it mean?" The nurse asked.
"Honestly, I have no clue. I just...got it." She said. "but I like to
see my cutie mark as the moment in that class when I almost died...and
how I kept on going."
The doctor was surprised. "Very inspiring, Miss Hooves.
"Oh, Derpy is just fine. Just Derpy." She said.
"Well, Derpy, very interesting story."
Derpy smiled. "Thank you. I have many more, but I'll tell you the
important ones." She put her hoof on her chin. "Hmm...now, let's see
if I can remember this correctly..."

Well, there's the new story!!! At first, this was a little past-time story, with no intent on publishing. But then I wondered if it was good, so i asked my friend about that he thought, and he said it was good, so here ya go!! More to come later!
